It feels plush to lay on, but you also get that solid feeling of support underneath which is a difficult combo to find in a mattress. The topmost layers are foam (which did concern me as I'm a hot sleeper) but unlike other foam-topped mattresses, it feels breathable but supportive. I love that you can remove all the foam layers to vacuum them, and their covers are machine washable - great for folks with allergies or if you have a spill. You can also replace these foam inserts and their covers down the track.

I would genuinely recommend Sleeping Duck mattresses to absolutely anyone, young or old. I have never slept well with this mattress and I fear that the one I have now with a girl's name will be the same; too firm.

So my advice is that if you are in any way dissatisfied with your mattress that has 100/120 night trial period, send it back. I now have a $1250 mattress that will be going to the op shop.

SD customer service was also fairly spotty with no one contacting me about how the bed was going and as I mentioned, I was never told about the soft option.

I find it amazing that people say they suddenly had the best sleep on these mattresses. There must be an awful lot of shocking sleeping arrangements out there. I only use this mattress when I stay up later than my partner (which is often) and I don't want to wake her. We have a latex mattress that kills this and in the main guest room we have a plush mattress that guests say they love.

I think I have done this other room's mattress on the cheap and if it does not work out, I will be back to the main retailers.

Sleeping Duck contacted me to see how I was enjoying my new bed, I reported that although the mattress was incredibly comfy I was no better off sleep satisfaction wise. Sleepung Duck immediately came to my rescue by suggesting I try their firm insert, and within a week it was at my door, no 3xtra charge AND I got to keep the original insert in case I ever wanted to use it. The new insert was very firm, I could sleep longer maybe 4 hours? But I was still waking in pain, I decided to put the softer foam ontop of the mattress under my underlay, and now I feel like I've got the perfect mattress for me, I can move easily, I can sleep for longer, and although I still wake with aches and pain, its no where near the scale that it was. Be patient - so worth it – This mattress took a minute to get used to. good. Heavy so take your time adjusting and spinning it. Most standard double fitted sheets will fit on it but tight - this doesn’t phase me as I love my bed so much. The firm is amazing. I thought I’d need the extra firm but that setting felt like concrete after a week on the firm. Highly recommend this mattress for value, comfort, and it is so snug now it’s winter. Sleeps warm in the summer so adjust bed linen and ventilation in your room if need be. Can’t have everything but this mattress is super close to it!!

Very comfortable otherwise with its top coverings but lack of back support I felt as you just sink in the matress. I think most people like it especially the comfirt but I would be sceptical for its long term back support.

Product: 3 stars just for their Firm option. Product NOT as described. Build quality: is ok, nothing super special or aeronatucal scince as they advertise. No side/edge support as they advertise. Single spring mesh, no pocker springs. Firmest option available is very soft, not suitable to firm sleepers. PLUS, it retains heat, ok for winters, not good for summers. Customer Service: 6 out of 5 stars, the best I have seen. I had to return the mattress and they returned it without any issues whatsoever. Price: Expensive for this quality and build compared to others.

New mattress – It is a very heavy mattress and deep so you need new bottom sheets. It is hard to lift but very comfortable. If you have a bad shoulder it can be hard to fit the sheets. Show details ·  1

My new friend in the bedroom – I first slept on the Sleeping Duck only 5 hours after unpacking it. By that stage it had expanded to a thickness of about 18 cm. But it continued to grow and now it's about 30 cm thick! Extremely comfortable, firm but in a pleasant way. Almost perfect, just not sure why the mattress is so short – Really happy with the mattress and how much better my sleep is now. As said in the title, not sure why the mattress is so much shorter than standard doubles.
