to be a problem for me is the weight of the mattress. I recently moved and it was easily the most difficult item to move because of its weight. But that is just me I think, my autoimmune condition affects my joints, muscles and tendons, so most bulky items are difficult for me. That's the only reason I have 4 starts only.
I can say I love this mattress. I'm glad I chose to buy this one on my Drs recommendation. The comfort it provides, combined with the support your body experiences makes it a worthy purchase.

by sealy and king koil and tempur etc i tried, Above and beyond customer support that always keep their word and helped solve problems very quickly to help make sure i was comfortable and happy with my product. It's 20x the quality of Emma mattresses. I wake up with significantly less backpain and difficulty moving after a longer sleep each morning now than i did before, i love being able to change the firmness or go half and half.

leaving soooo much room in the bed. The medium is perfect - not too hard, not too soft. I have also added a super plush mattress protector that I had previously on top so it’s like sleeping on a supportive cloud. Arm and hand numbness is gone and my back feels so much better in the mornings. The only drawback…I don’t want to get out of bed in the morning!

Indestructible bed 5/5 So as the name suggests it is built like a tank and the materials used are of high quality. Essentially you need to build it on the spot you want it to remain as it would be heavy to move even with the help of two people. The build itself is not too difficult but there are lots of bolts screws etc. Fortunately everything lined up so no great dramas here. I did however looked on the internet for a YouTube video which shows the build process. That was incredibly helpful and gave me the confidence to proceed with the order.
Mattress 3/5 This is the interesting bit and subjective. I come from having your standard inner spring Sealy mattress. So I am used to a more responsive mattress. Foam does have a different feel about it. The other thing I had noticed during my testing period, which was predominantly the summer months, I found that it retained a bit of heat. This is why I deliberated for such a long time on whether or not to keep this mattress. I was determined to see if this could be resolved as I like all the other aspects of the mattress including a removable washable cover and swapping around the foam for longevity. I went about changing the component adapt foam and purchasing the SD sheets and duvet. These things did not help much or if any. I was coming to the end of my trial period and thought there is a lot to like about this mattress and spring base but what more can I do. This isn’t rocket science. I have been reading a lot about latex. Perhaps this can both address responsiveness and heat retention. I took a chance and bought a Quokka basic latex topper and replaced the antigravity foam with it. At this point the trial period was about to end so it was a risk. Certainly the topper had the responsiveness I was happy with but I don’t think it truly addressed the heat retention. Heat retention is a double edged sword. In summer it is not great but in winter it is a blessing.
Sheets and Duvet 4/5 The sheets and duvet are incredibly soft and light weight. Although for me they don’t address heat retention of the mattress they are a good addition.

first - but reasoned that 5 minutes lying on a bed in a store would not give me any real sense of how the bed feels anyway. Plus with a 100 night sleep guarantee - I’d take the chance!
Delivery was excellent. I paid for premium delivery so I had the mattress and base delivered and assembled. I didn’t need to lug everything up the stairs when I could spend a little bit more to get people who were experienced in putting everything together. And the two guys who delivered and set it up were fantastic. Very professional and genuinely nice.
I went with the medium mattress - and am VERY happy. But also know that I can change the feel of the bed if I need to.
The mattress is seriously comfortable. You can feel how solid it is. The springs on the bottom and the foam over the top is perfect. The detachable cover is perfect - I got a spare to be ready when I wash the existing one.
Overall - I couldn’t be happier and I don’t think I’ll be needing 100 nights. I’ve had it for about a couple of months and I love it.
Oh - and when they open up the mattress - just crazy!

Follow-up · Mattress continues to be extremely comfortable. The delivery guy was fit and strong and brought the box right up to the front door. The little wheels on the end of the box made it easy for us to manoeuvre from there. Set up by two of us was easy following the instructions and the new mattress smell dissipated after a couple of hours.

the mandatory "medium" firmness with the promise that I could change over the "precision pads" to soft after 30 days. I made the assumption that Sleeping Duck had a strategy for the unwanted inserts that are as huge as 2 single portable mattresses... Customer support told me I should keep them in case I want to change back (?!) but they are HUGE and I have nowhere to store them. Customer service said I should cut them up and put them into my recycle bin but my council don't recycle polyeurethane. Customer service said I should then donate them to animal shelters - when I asked which one they stated RSPCA. I have contacted RSPCA as well as numerous other local places and nobody wants these inserts. I have little choice but to put them out for hard waste collection. A big part of Sleeping Ducks marketing strategy is the ability to customize the firmness for free so where do all of these mattresses inserts from hundreds of people customizing their product end up? I found the Customer Service responses friendly but vague "We are committed to sustainability and giving foams a second life. By donating them to animal shelters, we contribute to a positive impact on the environment." I find this statement misleading. I do not find that this mattress will have any kind of positive effect on the environment when it ends up in landfill. I need 2 more mattresses and you can bet I will not be buying another Sleeping Duck.

ask a friend. The quality of the product was really good. There was no smell, and materials and workmanship were of high standards. As it was, while not being far off, it was not quite right for me. I seem to do better with non-pocket sprung products, being lighter and curvier. But that's ok, because the peace of mind that came with the money back guarantee was just wonderful. Response times and quality of responses from Sleeping Duck were outstanding too. The only mini-glitch I had was that their chosen charity that was meant to collect were unable to offer me a collection time frame that suited me, but Sleeping Duck immediately got back to me to sort this out, and a different, local charity was made beneficiary instead. I even got to follow "my" mattress's path and saw what a difference it made in someone's life. I can absolutely recommend you buy a mattress from Sleeping Duck as this is a risk free purchase of a high quality product from a company that offers outstanding customer support.

quality one supposedly. As our kids had all bought these bed in a box mattresses we looked into that. Sleeping Duck seemed to have the best reviews and with the amazing 90 day firmness adjustment or return we thought we had little to lose. It was a little bit more expensive than some of the other similar mattresses but still half of the price of the standard spring mattress. From the first night there was no more pain! It was amazing. It was comfy and didn’t take the usual month to get used to it as previously had happened with mattresses. The whole process and communication with the company was seamless and faultless. Recently we decided we might be better with a slightly firmer mattress and with one email they are sending out the firmer ones. The idea you can replace each part of the unit if necessary in the future is great even if after the 90 days you need to pay for them. Its ideal if we suddenly develop a problem that requires different firmness levels in different parts of the body. No other mattress company offers such customisation. The fact that it was designed by Australians is another big factor. It would be great if it could be manufactured in Australia as well although I know that obviously would add to the cost which we would probably would have been prepared to pay. Cannot recommend this mattress and company more!

This mattress weighs an absolute ton so it can be very difficult to move around. It's a minimum of two people of reasonable strength to set it up and indeed to move it in any way in the future. compared to my old matress now. It amazes me how stable the surface is with no movement to anywhere else on the matress that you're not applying force to. Two people can definitely move without disturbing each other. I'm pretty sold on the matress now though I wish it wasn't so incredibly heavy, fine if you don't need to lift it or move it. Otherwise, I love it!

poor sense of smell and was unable to be in the same room as it for weeks. Volatile organic compounds? I guess that's what they are. So if you have a sense of smell, don't bank on sleeping on this mattress soon after you buy it.
The second problem is that the mattress is really heavy. Our bed has ends so it's difficult to lift one corner when making the bed. Often we just push the sheets under rather than lifting. We've never taken on the idea of rotating this mattress as we did with others.
My partner claims that the mattress sags in the middle and I made props to support the centre even though I don't think it's actually sagging.

usual spring base I’m used to and I just couldn’t get comfortable as I felt like I wasn’t supported enough (too firm under my body and not enough give). The customer service though was nothing short of outstanding and I felt they took care of me as they offered free interchangeable foam inserts that arrived so quickly. It’s a great bed if your partner has different preference for firmness as it can be adapted to each individual with the inserts. I ended up returning it within the 100 days guarantee but they were so lovely and understanding I felt taken care of the whole time. They arranged the pick up and took care of everything their end. This is a great company and I still recommend people give their mattress a go as it is high quality, it just wasn’t the right one for me. I need a larger spring base on my mattress.

Sleeping Duck have been helpful and keep checking on our progress. We will stick with the firm mattress as it seems to alleviate our back pain. Would recommend purchasing both base and mattress rather than fitting mattress on existing base. Unable to comment on durability as it is still very new. Hopefully will last a while! Mattress is a little heavy so changing sheets could be a problem but I believe there are devices to assist with this.

Sleeping Duck offered a painless "firmness adjustment" process, which enabled us to set up our new mattress (originally a default Medium firmness) with the softer support that we were after. This mattress is way too comfortable, the very best way to transition back from our waterbed. And support from the Sleeping Duck service people has been stellar.
