Aside from concerns around durability, given the issue occurred within a relatively short period for a product positioned as premium, I’m sharing this so others understand what the warranty process may look like if something goes wrong. I purchased a premium SleepMaker mattress through David Jones. The warranty process was handled by Australian… Read more
Comfort Group (the manufacturer behind SleepMaker). Unfortunately, the mattress developed a fault, and what followed was a lengthy and disappointing experience.
Over a period of approximately three months, I was required to go back and forth via email, with repeated follow-up on my part, to have my concerns properly addressed. The replacement options initially offered were clearly lower tier than my original mattress, yet were described as “equivalent” based on spring type and internal manufacturing cost. This information was not transparent and did not reflect the real-world quality or value of the product.
The only comparable option available to me, which was retailing for less than my original purchase, was treated as an “upgrade,” requiring additional payment despite the fault not being mine. The initial upgrade cost requested was close to $900.
During this time, I was sleeping on an unsuitable mattress and, at times, the couch due to discomfort, which significantly affected my sleep and daily functioning. This was particularly challenging as I was pregnant at the time.
Only after persistent escalation, with emails left going round and round in circles, was the upgrade fee reduced, and I ultimately paid a compromise amount of approximately $650 simply to bring the situation to an end.
The mattress itself may be acceptable initially, but the warranty process did not reflect what I would expect when purchasing a premium product. Customers should be aware that if an issue arises, resolution may involve additional cost, delays, and considerable effort.
I would encourage prospective buyers to consider not just the product, but how warranty claims are handled and the level of difficulty involved if something goes wrong with a mattress you rely on every day.
I bought this mattress just short of 10 years ago and I never got used to it. I am in the market for a new mattress and do not want to put up with what I have in the last 10 years. I blamed it on myself for choosing the wrong type, but I have noticed a lot of reviews on Sleepmaker are quite concerning. It is still under warranty and it is now… Read more
dipping in the middle. Sleeping has always been troublesome on this bed and I actually get a better sleep on my lounge. Also I have no problem sleeping on other beds when I have visited family. I've spent a small fortune on mattress toppers to correct the comfort level, but that is only a temporary fix. I cannot find any details online about this exact mattress to compare to other mattresses. I cannot find out how much this mattress weighs, so I will ring the company and hopefully they can tell me. I should have made a review much earlier, so I am now hoping this helps others.
Brought this end of last year from sleepys a horrible brand with pathetic customer service, I never felt right with the store and I brought it under impulse as my king koil was 15 years old and lasted amazingly. Sleepys even delivered the mattress before I paid the full amount how embarrassing and incompetent. Something was off from the mattress… Read more
and they delivered a 3 month old mattress. Like who does that, the bad salesman kids at store said would be made to order brand new, not a frickin 3 month old mattress, they said it's unused brand new ?? Took it for warranty and after if your in a city that doesn't have a sleepmaker warehouse DO NOT BUY FROM SLEEP MAKER as it has to go to Melbourne for inspection which is such a time wasting experience even though delivery pickup is free, they give you an old mattress cleaned but it was so so. The Indian company they use even left rubbish in my front yard which I complained about how pathetic but hey, it that's there work output it explains a lot in this country. Now sleepys said it's brand new, slewpmaker said found no faults but my mattress compared to when it arrived feels different the side foam on the bed was sticking out big time they have since corrected this slightly but the bed a contour medium feels like a plush I rang so many sleepys store and heaod managers said it's. A firmer popular my type of mattress and sleepmaker never send old stock it's brand new made to order what a load of rubbish but I think it's sleepys who did this on purpose but I can't prove it, my mattress is flat it feels like waterbed who knows if the Indian delivery drivers did something to it , def doesn't feel like a -3k mattress what a wasre of money and they found say no fsults found just to pass it fit and not take any ownership of manufscijt fault, I even rang sleepmsker and agent said ww sell old brand new mattresses that hage sitting in wweehiuse for months how sad is that, it's easier just buying Chinese made which is quicker and better quality i waited 3 weeks for my bed and yes did have holiday but still I feel like either sleepys gwve me a bed that was exchanged under there comfort guareteee model but saying it's brand new bed, ask yourselfs would you want to have a 3 month old mattress when the sales kids tell you your getting a brand new made to order bed even Google states sleepmaker always make made to order nevee give old stock that sits in warehouse when that there agent said they do which is disgusting. You think your buying Australia made but it doesn't feel like it,I should of done my research and gone another store.even forty winks guys said they stopped selling sleep maker and sounded funny when asked him reasons.im getting back pain after sleeping on it for like few days so have been sleeping on old mattress. No accountability from sleepys or sleepmsker they don't care they a business don't care about reputation. No wonder manufacturers in Australia now feeling pinch , they want us to buy aus made but doing bad things to make us wanna buy , I think glory days of premium quality aus made are far behind us . Every sleepys I rang said sleepmaker get a brand new made to order mattress they wouldn't give u a 3 month old mattress that's brand new sitting in warehouse, guy said sleepys would but on contract he would write floor stock or comfort exchange guarantee if was, they keep saying it's brand new mattress, I don't believe that I have every right to be paranoid because when I tell someone about sleepy and sleepmaker it's not positive feedback from my experience, I understand u create in bulk but seriously 3 months is sad, if this bed is so popular

I have the Posture Advance Medium, and it’s the best mattress I’ve owned in over half a century. I’ve had it for two years now and it’s still as good as the day it was delivered. It’s so comfortable that I purchased a second one for my guest bedroom. I love how supportive it is—although I did add a microfibre mattress topper for additional… Read more
softness, but I think the combination of a supportive mattress and a topper is magic. This mattress is wonderfully lightweight and there is no partner disturbance. The mattress hasn’t developed any sagging, and even after a full night’s sleep it’s still flat as a pancake. I initially purchased a $4,000 mattress from a different brand and it started sagging after four months so I sold it and bought this one. I’m about to purchase a third Sleepmaker mattress for a family member. My guests have all commented on how amazingly comfortable it is. It’s a shame Sleepmaker discontinued the Posture Advance, but I’m sure the Posture Embrace will be just as brilliant.
Super experience – From the first moment it has been a wonderful experience at SleepMaker. The sales rep was superb. Received yesterday the new mattress and the base and I had the best night of my life. Highly recommended.
Sleepmaker Robe Firm so very happy just what Wendy at Myer city said it would be ! – Purchased the Sleepmaker Robe firm queen bed mattress …… wow am very happy supports me in all the places a mattress should and enjoying sleeping in again .
Sleepmaker Semaphore – Love going to bed at night, the sleep maker semaphore medium mattress, is very comfortable and great on our backs, the coils in the middle take pressure off sore joints, which is a relief at night when sleeping, highly recommend this mattress with adjustable bed
Perfect feel – We were quite confused at the extensive range available at MYER Melbourne, however Joanne was very patient & explained the options which would suit our requirements and came up with the perfect solution for us which is Lifestyle Robe Medium.

I purchased the SleepMaker Pure Balance Recapture – Plush mattresses in September 2024. Despite being orthopedic recommended, both mattresses sagged significantly in the middle within months, causing ongoing back discomfort. I paid extra to have them rectified, but the repairs failed, and one mattress now sits noticeably lower than the other. … Read more
This marks the second failure within one year, mind you, I had to pay them $800 to repair them firstly and the mattresses are simply unfit, uncomfortable, and unsatisfactory. Attempts to claim a refund have been difficult and slow, with the company insisting on repairs I cannot and will not accept. I had them replaced with another brand which are perfect and supportive.
I would not recommend these mattresses to anyone seeking comfort, support, or a product that lives up to its claims. Poor quality, poor customer service, and a frustrating experience overall.
I’ve never dealt with a company so dismissive and evasive when it comes to honouring a warranty. Weeks of being passed back and forth between SleepMaker (The Comfort Group) It took a QCAT filing and countless follow-ups just to get basic acknowledgement of their obligations under Australian Consumer Law. Their customer service is unhelpful,… Read more
defensive, and completely out of touch with how a reputable brand should treat its customers.
If you value your sanity, buy anything other than SleepMaker. The product failed well before its expected lifespan, and the process to get a remedy was an absolute nightmare.
I did get a full refund in the end - please lodge with QCAT or your states equivalent if you have poor service, they deserve to be held accountable.
SleepMaker promotes its mattresses with a 10-year warranty. That promise played a significant role in my purchase decision. But the reality behind that warranty is far from what most consumers would expect — and what Australian Consumer Law requires. After a few years of use, my mattress developed a significant and painful sag. I rotated it… Read more
regularly, used the correct firm base (also sold to me by the retailer), and followed every care instruction. I submitted a warranty claim with detailed photos, receipts, and even evidence of proper maintenance. Their response was swift — but their reasoning, deeply flawed.
They declined the claim due to “stains” on the mattress. Not contamination, not soiling, just superficial marks that in no way caused the sag or compromised hygiene. Nowhere on the product tag is this restriction noted. No such condition was disclosed at the time of sale. And the version of the warranty document they later sent is dated 2025 — six years after I bought the product.
This isn't a delay tactic. It’s more subtle and, frankly, more troubling: an efficient, polite, but ultimately obstructive process designed to place the burden of proof on the consumer while SleepMaker escapes responsibility through vague, post-hoc policies. The emphasis on “health and safety regulations” feels like a convenient shield, not a genuine cause.
SleepMaker appears to rely on surface-level technicalities — not on substance — to invalidate warranty claims. Their warranty means little if ordinary use voids it.
If a mattress can't remain usable without developing structural failure in just a few years — despite proper care — then the promise of “10 years” is misleading. It fosters trust to close the sale, then collapses when that trust is tested.
A warranty isn’t a marketing slogan. It’s a contract. And what happened here violates its spirit — if not more.

customer. I will never buy a sleepmaker mattress again. Do not purchase this brand it's the biggest load of rubbish. Sealy posturpedic for me well worth waiting till you have the money for a decent long lasting mattress. The warranties are not worth the paper they are written on. Previous to this I had a sleepmaker mattress for 20 years until it started to sag. Obviously not made to that quality anymore. That was why I bought another sleepmaker. Now they are absolute rubbish. Avoid this brand all together. I most probably will lodge a complaint with the ACCC, when I get around to it. Too many of these companies are getting away with their obligations.
Follow-up · Rotated it as told. Medium firmness. Bought a new base with the mattress so both were new. Disappointed how the company have just fobbed me off with a generic reply. Will never purchase this brand ever again

worsened since despite regular rotation. I submitted a claim to THE COMFORT GROUP warranty people from SleepMaker along with photos and they rejected the claim under the guise of it's normal to sag, which they call it body contouring even though the sag is evident without laying on it. I can send it to them at a cost of $150 for transport to be assessed but seeing someone else's review with exactly the same complaint and has sent their mattress back, was a total waste of time and transport cost. I told them I can deliver it back to Forty Winks where I bought it and they can collect it from there but they wouldn't accept that. WARNING to anyone looking to purchase any SleepMaker brand mattresses. Their warranty is not worth the paper it's written on. I'm not the only one who has this complaint, on reading through Product Reviews Australia you will find others who have had the exact same problem, no matter which model SleepMaker they purchased. Now I'm stuck with a $1500 mattress that will continue to sag over time. Forty Winks Grafton have now advised that they don't stock SleepMaker products any more. I'm not surprised, as they want to preserve their name and quality.
Follow-up · I received no response from Sleepmaker about my review. The sagging caused chronic back pain to the point that I struggled with pain getting out of bed. I replaced my mattress with another brand and within a couple of days my pain was drastically diminishing to almost non existent.

Sleep Maker is the best mattress brand, it’s SST technology in there new Performace Tuscany Range will have you falling asleep within 5 minutes, I’ve never felt a softer mattress with added back support, I truly could never see myself having any other mattress!
A Goodnight’s sleep, bed for you! – If you want a goodnight’s sleep than SleepMaker Performance Tuscany Plush Mattress is the mattress for you. Undisturbed sleep when sleeping next to your special someone.
Great mattress – Great sleep. Very firm and very supportive mattress. The best sleep we have had in ages on our new SleepMaker Performance Tuscany - Firm. It replaced our old "firm" mattress, and the difference is amazing. We hope it feels this good for 10 years. Thank you also to the lady in Myer Sydney for her help. It is definitely worth it to "try before you buy".

I purchased my $1400 Sleepmaker mattress 3 yrs ago and over the last 6 months the dipping in the middle is causing me back pain and uncomfortable, sleepless nights! I just want to share my experience here as I know that other people have experienced the same and frustrated by the outcome. I purchased a Sleepmaker Queenstown medium firm mattress in January 2025. $2600 for this mattress. I contacted Sleepmaker and went through the process of having it inspected. Which took a month or two.
Unlike some consumers here, I didn't have to pay for either pick up or inspection. After 3 weeks the mattress was returned and I had to ask repeatedly for the inspection report. It demonstrated that there were faults with the springs, foam comfort layers that were beyond "tolerance". But Sleepmaker deemed this "minor faults", despite it only being 8 months old by this time. The only thing on the inspection report that hadn't failed was the external stitching! This in a $2600 mattress.
After 3 weeks, the mattress started to sag again, and by this time I'd had enough. For the price I paid you expect a mattress to retain firmness and support, over time, and over night. Instead of going through Sleepmaker again, I made a complaint via Consumer Protection. Australian Consumer laws and protection supercede any rubbish warranty claims that Sleepmaker espouse about having to have a "major fault". This is incorrect. If the product does not perform as it should, does not reflect the demo model or quality and durability is not reflective of the cost, then as a consumer you have rights via consumer law.
Consumer Protection acted on my behalf and contacted Sleepmaker and the company I purchased the bed from (Bedshed - who I might add were pretty good during this process).
I essentially requested a full refund as my terms in the consumer protection arbitration process.
Sleepmaker tried to instigate another inspection and stated that a refund could only be provided if a major failure was identified. I rejected this as above, consumer law supercedes their rubbish warranty claims.
I was offered a store credit but by this time I'd purchased a Sealy mattress (innerspring). So had no need nor want of a store credit.
Finally I was offered a full refund, but not from Sleepmaker, but from Bedshed.
A lesson to all those who've purchased a shoddy Sleepmaker mattress - contact Consumer Protection.
And avoid pocket springs. They are a rubbish and cheap support system. They are spruiked as the greatest thing but provide poor support and poor durability.
I ended up making my own 'hybrid' mattress buying a Sealy Advantage firm mattress ($800 from Myer), adding a memory foam topper, and using my wool underlay on top of that. I now have the most PERFECT mattress with excellent support. And, can replace the memory foam over time. Which is cheaper than replacing a mattress all the time.
Best of luck to you all.
Haven't had my mattress for more than 11 months, and it's sagging so badly in the middle that I have to put pillows underneath it to vainly try and get any sleep. Shameful. Disgraceful. SleepMaker has completely failed me as a customer. explaining my medical condition and how important proper support is they’ve pushed me through a cycle of firm, medium and soft each just as useless as the last. Their response? Denial. Excuses. And now they have the audacity to ask for hundreds of dollars just to inspect a faulty mattress that THEY supplied a mattress that clearly isn’t fit for purpose under Australian Consumer Law. It’s obvious this company puts profit before people. They don’t care about the customer once they’ve made the sale. If you’re thinking of buying from SleepMaker, don’t. You’ll be left with pain, frustration, and an expensive mattress that does more harm than good. I will not stay silent. I’ll be taking this further with consumer affairs and sharing my experience wherever I can. If this review saves even one person from going through what I have, it’s worth it. SleepMaker, you should be ashamed.

Absolutely horrible company to deal with. I bought a mattress that sagged within a couple of years. Sent pictures and requested waranty replacement, they asked me to pay to have the mattress shipped to them to test it, then closed the case saying its natural wear and tear. Worst mattress I have ever owned and I would recommend buying any other brand but this.
Terrible and unprofessional – Absolutely appalling experience with SleepMaker and their so-called "warranty service." a valid claim. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, they sent The Comfort Group, a third-party company that was even worse—completely biased, dismissive, and clearly working in SleepMaker’s favor rather than providing a fair and honest assessment.
The process was nothing short of frustrating. SleepMaker went out of their way to avoid accountability, using vague technicalities to avoid honoring their promises. Their representatives were unhelpful, unprofessional, and defensive, showing no genuine interest in resolving the issue. It became obvious they care more about avoiding costs than standing behind the quality they claim to offer.
The Comfort Group's assessment process felt designed to discredit customers rather than provide a fair evaluation. They ignored obvious defects and seemed determined to find reasons to reject the warranty claim, no matter how unreasonable. It's shocking that a brand of this size would partner with such a company, but it speaks volumes about their priorities—profits over customers.
This entire experience has been stressful, unfair, and deeply disappointing. SleepMaker's lack of integrity and refusal to uphold basic customer rights is unacceptable for a company in the bedding industry, where comfort and trust should be fundamental. I strongly advise against purchasing from SleepMaker unless you're prepared to be left stranded when issues arise. Companies like this should not be trusted with your hard-earned money.
SleepMaker mattress – I have had a sleepMaker mattress for 3 year's it’s already sagging in the middle it has a 10 year warranty. ‘normal’ body imprinting by the manufacture!!! If you have a problem you will have to pay $150 for them to collect it from your house. I have asked SleepMaker what type of tests that they will do on my mattress and they have not told me exactly because I said if it includes the use of a broomstick it’s absolutely stupid testing. I asked them to come to my house and measure the sagging with me in it as so my mattress doesn’t have to be taken and I have to sleep on a loan mattress that god knows how many people have slept on. I have booked the mattress to be picked up and I will edit this once I have more news.

poor sleep. I work with young people daily and need rest.
You can see clear dips in the mattress. Now I apparently need to send back to them at my own cost for 'assessment' when they basically just said via the photos is that there is 'no fault' and they cant guarantee firmness or support (so why even have firm, medium and soft mattresses then?). I am going to take this to CBS as making a customer pay for transportation and then likely just fobbing it off as 'normal wear and tear' is a joke. Ive never had this kind of customer service or issue previously. Has definitely turned me off of purchasing or recommending the brand in the future.

4.5 stars for this supportive mattress with more plush than I am used to – For me, the right blend of support and comfort. The Raphael medium threatens to be too soft however being a side sleeper with a long term shoulder injury, i am pleased with the gentle bracing support. The pressure on the shoulder is relieved compared to my sealy firm. Quite pleased for now. Build quality seems good. Suprised that I didnt recieve care instructions or brochure on collection.
Floating on a Gossamer Cloud – Brought a Edinburgh Plush mattress ensemble from Beds R Us to replace what was a still decent bed, but too firm for these bones. Was not convinced a Plush was the way to go, but after a few nights I can vouch for the simple delight of sinking into a soft bed that still offers all the support needed. And it looks schmick to boot.
Sleeping on a Cloud – I bought the Lifestyle Robe Plush mattress for my daughter and she has never slept so well. She literally describes it is like sleeping on a cloud and she looks so gorgeous and snug at night when I tuck her in! Only problem is she is now sleeping so well I have to wake her every morning for school!!! Very happy with purchase.
