why the light indicating that the oven reach preset temperature does not work with the gas burner and only with the grill?
Dear Paul, The light is for the grill not the oven, the oven does not have a indicator light it reaches temperature in about 15 minutes. If you have any problems please feel free to contact us at service@smeg.com.au.
What is the internal width in mm of the C7GVXA8 oven? Ross Williams - email: [email removed]
I measure 460mm (46cm) at the narrowest point near the front. The wall lining actually bulges out a bit here ant takes up a few mm of space more than the rest of the internal width. I'm not sure what the book states. Cheers
Hi,
My problem is with the oven, the knob won't lighr up or stay on. It works sometimes but only after fidgetting around for a while, & if it's on, it will just stop heating up & needs to be adjusted again.
Hi Patricia Anne when you light the oven leave the door open for 30 seconds this will allow the air and gas to mix correctly, if this does not work please call Smeg service on 02 8667 4833 to arrange for a technician to look at your cooker.
Regards Chris
Hi, I have had a Smeg from new three years ago - its the C7GMXA8. Purchased from The Good Guys. I like the oven but have been desperately unhappy with the quality of the cooktop surface (gas burners). Has anyone had a problem with scratching of the stainless steel? Because the hotplate covers don't have padding - they are not rounded but simply 'stick out' where they join with the next hotplate covers, they scratch the surface if they are not placed EXACTLY in the correct place. Any tips or ideas to get scratches out - they are very unsightly and I would tell anyone not to buy Smeg because of the cooktop. Thanks!
i had not noticed that. If you don't use a wet dishcloth to wipe down I do notice the top scratches but not from any smeg related cover.
Can you please tell me where the power output is situated on the rear of the appliance?eg.high low left or right so I can arrange for an electrician to install a power point in a suitable position before my stove arrives(or is there a recommended position)
kind regards Harry
The power cable (if in the kitchen facing the front of cooker) is on the lower left about 12cm from the floor. The cable is about 1.2 metres long. The plug is for a 15 amp socket (it has a larger earth pin). You need to leave plenty of slack in the cable for sliding the cooker in and out. Gas connection is on the upper right. We have the power cable running into an adjoining cupboard. Installation instructions say "the socket must be accessible after the appliance has been built in" Hope this helps
