Leaking all over the counter – I purchased the kettle 30 Jan 2021. The kettle certainly does boil water and when knew looks beautiful (apart from the ugly cable). I would advise against, this purchase. Thank goodness the toaster to match was out of stock. Show details

Nice Ornament - Worthless Kettle ! – Purchased as a package with toaster but within a year the plastic hinge assembly disintegrated. Still boils water but to pour the water you need to hold the lid while you pour; definitely not safe. Pretty disappointing. Show details

Smeg- poor quality control but great customer service – Two faulty kettles, first kettle had faulty lid, replacement Leaks after 18 months however very satisfied with customer service response. Disappointing – Very disappointed in this kettle. I bought it from Appliances Online, so didn’t see it before purchase. If I had I would not have bought it. For a kettle around $200 you expect more. The base and handle are plastic, making it look cheap. The lid leaks, after boiling and refilling, boiling water runs down the handle. Show details

SMEG kettle lid won't open – I have had my kettle for a little over 14 months and the lid will not open. I have previously owned SMEG products and have always found them to be most reliable. water level indicator. The leak is now so bad that we have purchased a £12 kettle from A supermarket to use instead, as I have no wish to eletricute anyone who wants to make a hot drink. On a happy note the £12 kettle has turned out to be an excellent and reliable purchase!
SMeg kettle - LID ISSUES – great kettle, love the silence and look, but the lid stuck a bit over it's 12 month age, now broken and permanently locked, filling through the spout. Shame I still use it, as it is a lovely kettle and toaster was purchased at same time to match. Oh dear! – I have not had this kettle for long and the lid is in my opinion dangerous. Steam comes out from all around the lid, the seal doesn't seal and there is some fault where the plastic meets the handle at the top. Most of the time the lid is difficult to close! Cheap decals – Thought I'd treat myself and bought the black kettle. After the first time boiling water two of the SMEG letters fell off. You'd think for $199 they could afford to have high end lettering or something similar to their toaster. I now have a MEG kettle. Is this enough of a reason to return the product to Harvey Norman?? Great design – Great looking toaster and kettle. Though, like others have mentioned on this review, the sticking button caused us issues after a few months. The button still worked, but you had to tap it really hard to open it. We had returned it to Myer and received a replacement. Other than that, very nice product. Show details
