Beware to use a DEBIT card with low balance to establish your account. At the least excuse you will be charged $100 (plus "fee" of $2.04) and this cannot be charged to a debit card with low balance. Alternatively after establishing your account delete the card detail from your profile. Three weeks after being charged wrongly when my professional… Read more

I've been asking for help for 4 years and two suicide attempts, but because I can't navigate their confusing portal I'm not eligible for health. Further irrefutable proof that mental health is an absolute joke, and those who seek mental health help are treated like a joke. Thanks for nothing at all.

If you’re struggling and seeking meaningful, stable psychological care, PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE Someone.health is not a real mental health clinic, rather a platform that connects users with freelance psychologists. There is zero quality control, no duty of care, and a complete absence of clinical oversight. I tried to engage in therapy here… Read more

during an incredibly vulnerable period of my life. I gave it multiple chances (five sessions) but walked away more distressed and depressed than when I started.

Requests to collaboratively create a care plan were repeatedly ignored. Sessions lacked structure, professionalism, and clinical insight. I was greeted with “What’s up?”, dismissed with lines like “You do too much” or “Everyone goes through this,” and told that “maybe you just need a holiday” after explicitly explaining how my depression had severely impacted my employment. These responses were not only unhelpful, they were re-traumatising.

There was a serious communication gap that left me feeling unheard and misunderstood. After jumping through hoops to switch practitioners (the platform makes it incredibly difficult to change from the first person you see), my new psychologist failed to show up and cancelled all future bookings without explanation. They then disengaged from the platform entirely. There was no explanation, no handover, no follow-up.

Someone.health allows psychologists to disappear at a click. While they are highly strict about charging patients for late/cancellation fees, there’s no protection for clients nor guarantee their psychologists stay, no minimum notice required, and no communication from the admin team, who don’t seem to have any more access to their schedules than clients do. You could show up for your next session only to find the psychologist vanished and nobody will be able to explain why.

If you’re navigating mental health challenges and looking for consistency, clinical professionalism, or even just basic reliability, this is not the place. I wish I hadn’t wasted my limited time, energy, and rebated sessions here. It has genuinely left me more traumatised than helped.

Please don’t go through what I did. You deserve better.

Finally a way of finding the best Psychologist for a person – I have had Mental health problems all my life Anxiety, Depresssion and PTSD and loads of psychologists. right qualifications and history and background to suit what I needed and wanted Ive had 4 sessions and have come further in those sessions than I have in 20 plus years. I cannot recommend them high enough or [Name Removed]. To find a Practioner who Listens, adapts and treats you how you need for the ability to heal is outstanding. I am on a pension and although pay up front the gap is small and even if it wasnt I would find a way. I am so grateful for this service. Most services wont bulk bill or even have huge gaps and do not provide a holistic approach which I needed so I am soooo happy I found this service.

Someone.health! As nervous as I was trying someone new, well it has been a really refreshing experience. It has by noway been easy but a lot more easier than I thought it would be. What I really like about Someone.health is that you get to choose from the 182 Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist within Australia that you would like to see. I'm in Tasmania and my Clinical Psychologist is in Qld. You can do via phone or video chat. I do video chat which is as good as sitting in the office with them. You get the first 2 sessions free (Bulk billed) then with your Medicare plan that you organize through your GP you only pay out of pocket $40 each session for the remaining 10 sessions that Medicare offers us. Someone.health deduct the $40 about 5 days prior to your appointment then after your session you're deducted a further ($89.65) for a Psychologist and ($131.65) for a Clinical Psychologist which is then claimed back through Medicare by Someone.health and then the amount is refunded back in to your account which is exactly what happens if you seen someone locally. You pick how often you would like to have your appointments and if for any reason you're not happy with your Psychologist you can select another one. Someone.health are excellent with any enquires you may have and they answer you very promptly! I Highly, Highly Recommend Someone.health as it has so far been a very Positive Experience for me. I feel safe in my own home talking about my life struggles and I feel I'm in Excellent hands with my Clinical Psychologist. Please don't think about it and dwell on it! Do it! Your Clinical Psychologist or Psychologist you choose will help in guiding you to change your life for the Better.

Found the service lacked depth, insight and any real psychological support. Focused on financial solutions of which they had no concept (and that I had a lawyer to advise me about) but ignored my concerns regarding anxiety and anger which was why I was there in the first place. I experienced a personal emergency that clashed with my appointment.… Read more

When I finally figured out how to cancel an appointment (buried in their website with no option on their text reminder service), giving them a days notice, the decided to charge me a $103 cancellation fee anyway. No enquiry why. No compassion in spite of the significant notice. No appreciation of the pressure that such an act would place on an already desperate situation. Unfortunately this is not somewhere you will found understanding and support - just another mercenary psychological service pretending to help to take advantage of vulnerable people and the government's mental health plan.

I needed to reschedule an appointment and attempted to do so 2 nights before via the Someone.Health website. It wouldn’t let me — instead, it blocked changes within 48 hours and told me I had to call. This contradicts their own 24-hour cancellation policy. I called the next day as soon as I could and got through about 1.5 hours inside the 24-hour… Read more

window. I explained the situation and still gave nearly 23 hours’ notice — but was met with no understanding, no flexibility, and was hit with a $102.09 cancellation fee anyway.

This isn’t just poor service — it’s predatory and unethical. The system is designed to trap people with rigid rules, then penalise them unfairly. For a company claiming to support mental health, this kind of behaviour is absolutely disgraceful.

While the psychologist was fine, the admin staff and policies are the reason I won’t return. If you value transparency, empathy, and actual care — stay far away from Someone.Health.

If I could could give this 0 stars it would not be enough, inconsiderate, rude, money hungry grubs that have no interest in helping anyone. Avoid this service. You would have better luck giving the junkie down the road 50 bucks to hear you out. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

Avoid – Avoid avoid avoid!!! I had an appointment set up and I prepared for it, which was a lot for me. Sat in the online waiting room for 15 minutes before giving up. then they charged me $100 for not attending, putting me into financial hardship to line their own pockets. I’ve reported them to my bank for fraud and will explore other avenues to ensure this group get what they deserve for scamming me. Don’t trust them!

Excruciatingly terrible experience – If I could give zero stars, I would. Was running 11 mins late due to circumstances entirely out of my control and charged before I could even log in. Stayed online for 30 mins and got zero answer. Way to help someone in a time of crisis. Thanks for sweet nothing!

Not worth trying!! – I contacted someone health trying to get an appointment with a psychologist. I was told i need a gp and ndis referral letter to see one of psychologist. NDIS does not do referral letters and it’s not easy to see a gp for a referral letter. I can understand if you need to go to a gp for a referral letter and mental health plan but a referral for NDIS plan or paying privately you don’t need one. Go else where.

Never had the chance to talk to someone! – The idea is very good however it never worked for me. The 2 first psychologists canceled at te last minute and the last one never turned up I was connected for 25 minutes inside the waiting room no one came. Impersonal and Expensive – Automated, and impersonal. Only way of contact is via email. Exactly what you DO NOT need when needing a psychologist. I was lied to at beginning about the fees. The fees are ridiculous for the service you get, which is very little. If you are psychologically fragile right now, I would recommend staying away from this service.

Oh also my first psychologist I saw, is the absolute worst psychologist I have ever encountered. Please guys, it’s not worth the “cheaper” therapy. If I do not get my cancellation fee waved, I will be taking this higher.

Also, the company does not tell you that you have to pay after 2 sessions. If you read the other reviews.. I would focus on the Medicare “rebate”.
