Ready-made Eyelet Curtains
I bought two pair of Ready-made Eyelet curtains and no two curtains are the same length. The difference in length ranges from 3 to 5cm across the four individual curtains. These curtains were $75 a pair. Very poor quality control.
Terrible Woman At Ashmore Store
Spotlight Ashmore had been a wonderful place every time I went but last time I went, it made me not want to be served by a particular lady who is maybe in her 40s or 50s has short blonde hair with glasses. She looks like a supervisor but I’m not too sure. I showed my birthday $10 voucher and she didn’t know how to put the code into the register system and she rudely asked me whether I’ve used it in the past. What kind of customer service is this? Is she making it my fault simply because she can’t get the voucher to work? After I said i’m sorry ...but I’ve never used it because I’m not that kind of person if you think I am and I just received it in the email. She was quiet as a mouse and got the voucher working. She did not have a single smile on her face, she looked like she wasn’t enjoying being at Spotlight. Very rude customer service. The young girls are much better at it. I am not going to be served by this woman when I visit this store.
Ridiculous service / unintelligent staff
Mum paid cash for some curtains recently and gave them to me as a gift. They just were the wrong colour for my liking so she took them back to swap for another colour. They didn’t have much stock when she looked, so instead she asked for a refund or store credit. She lost the receipt so the staff said she would have to show her spotlight VIP card or bank statement. Mum isn’t a VIP member, and as she paid cash there was nothing on a bank statement that would help. Staff member insisted she bring in her bank statement and mum kept saying that she...paid cash. Staff member couldn’t seem to understand that and just kept saying without the bank statement they couldn’t help. Mum shook her head and walked away with the original curtains and is now looking for her receipt. Whilst mum appreciates the need for a receipt, the staff member obviously wasn’t very intelligent at all. These people live amongst us and I am not sure how they function every day.
4 seasons pure wool entwine
Purchased 10 balls of 4 seasons pure wool entwine 8 ply 100g balls on the 22nd of January. Knitted 10 inches of a mans jumper and the next four inches had a join every inch. Very disappointed in this product. It is not an A grade wool and sought wether it is pure wool!
Ordered 4 towels online and initially was charged for 4. Then received notification that I was being refunded for three. Why was I not asked if 1 towel was what I wanted when I ordered 4. I was also charged the full postage which is the same for 4 towels as 1? I should have been given the option of cancelling the complete order. Sent a message to the online site and am still waiting for an answer from them. Dreadful communication issues!!!!

Customer service representative was useless and company had no interest in resolving their defective product.
Had to talk customer service rep through the issue (product was missing parts) 3 times after which she was unable even offer a suggestion of how to resolve the problem...dead air on the line till I prompted by asking how the defective product would be replaced or refunded. Rep suggested going instore...but when I pressed further for stock check to ensure I wasn't travelling for no reason she couldn't even conform availability. Also was unable to process a refund or organise sending a replacement product. Will NEVER shop spotlight again. So many better options out there that are cheaper, better quality, and employ people who are not dimwitted.
Rip off and terrible customer service
Wanting to purchase new blinds ordered a free measure and quote,had to wait till next day for the quote which was an outrageous amount 4 grand for 3 average rooms for fake timber blinds,it would of been 5grand but they had 30% off! I thought I would go instore to buy ready to hang blinds instead to save money but they refused to give me the measurements they had taken for me to choose! Avoid this place
Non-existent customer service
My blinds were partially installed during the first week of December 2019. The fitter arrived with half the order for the bedroom window and said he would call me back when he found out where the remainder where. I contacted the salesperson and her response "I will look into it for you". This message was received on 11 December 2019. I contacted the salesperson again on 10 January 2020. Her response "I am terribly sorry about this order not being complete I did follow through with the store and in notes it is saying the fitter was doing a rew...ork on that window as the missing parts were not at store I have customer service chasing it up now as all the workroom have been closed. I will contact you once I get an answer." It is nearly a week later and I still am not any wiser. I understand that the parts might be coming from China, or that we need to wait until the fitter is in the area again, but I would really appreciate some communication. I am extremely disappointed int he customer service this time around. Previously I had been very pleased with the service I received.

Very disappointing service
On 3 November 2019 my husband and I visited the Albury store to purchase 9 timber look blinds (Venetian EAN 9320136350796).
We took 1 blind to the counter as we wanted to enquire about alterations. We were advised these would take between 4-6 weeks and we agreed to this time frame as the blinds were not required until December when our house would be completed. We asked the sales assistant if we needed to go and get the blinds off the shelf and she advised us that we did not as they have the blinds at the warehouse. At this time there was the...required amount of blinds on the shelf. We paid for the blinds and an additional charge of $25 per blind for the alteration. This sales assistant was great. Very professional, answered all our questions, I can not fault this lady or her service. I visited the store on 10 December to ask how the order was going, the sales assistant checked the folder and said it was still in progress and she would check and give me a call if there were any issues. My husband and I were again at Spotlight on 26 December and again enquired about the blinds. Sales assistant checked the folder and said they were now overdue but as it was a public holiday she could not check, but she would give them a call the next day and then give me a call back. I did not receive a call.

I went to the Bayswater store today, ready to spend $500 on a Cricut machine, but left empty handed due to horrendous customer service. I initially approached 2 workers who were chatting together and received awkward looks of confusion when I asked them for help. They directed me to the Lay By desk where I was greeted by one worker who offered to call a person from the craft department to help me. One of the two ladies I had initially approached came to ‘help’ me. She could not tell me any information about the product, was very abrupt and bland with any brief response she gave. I tried to probe with questions for further information but she gave me as little response as possible. Very unimpressed.
Only Partial of my Order was delivered and then x1 was faulty!
Placed a order on Monday 6/1/2020 2-5 day delivery... Got my delivery today Thurs 9/1/2020 only to discover only 1/2 of my order arrived (I ordered x6 Chair Cushions) only got x3 delivered. On closer inspection, one of the Cushions was faulty! I ordered online as they were not available instore. Clearly, no call to say they were still trying to source the remainder of my order from another warehouse and obviously no quality control when packing order or the faulty item would have been picked up. Now its up to me to have to return the item ...and also go to the post office to collect the remaining items that were not delivered. When I called the Customer Service line, i got a "generic" apology but still, no estimated time frame on when I should receive the remainder of my order. Simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
I bought two of the same item that are $7 each on the Spotlight website. The cash register showed these as $12 each. I pointed this out to the cashier and she just said she'd have to charge me what the cash register computer showed. I showed her the online price on my phone but she was unmoved and only gave me the option of not buying them. I paid her price as I needed the items, but pointed out to her that any other large retailer would always honour the lower price showed on their own website. She made no comment to this as I know she knew their attitude to customers sucks.
Terrible customer service
Half my curtain order was sent to the wrong customer and I received his order. Contacted spotlight and was told that they’d heard from the customer who received my curtains and spotlight would send them in to me. In the meantime, they’ve cancelled my order, sent me one pair of curtains instead of 4 and don’t have the other 3 pair to send to me because they’ve obviously sold them to someone else. Will never shop with spotlight again
Extremely disappointed with the customer service.
We had a bed sheet set given to us as a present (purchased from spotlight with obviously no receipt brand new still in plastic bag), The bed set was king size, we went there to change it to Queen size. The older lady at the counter (either manager or owner- WITHOUT A NAME TAG) said that they can't do a swap without a receipt. Love these franchisers giving Spotlight a very bad name. Do yourselves a favour, buy from K mart or Big W.
Extremely rude service
Literally every time I go to spotlight the more mature ladies there are so utterly rude. When they talk to you they turn their noses up and act as if your not worth their time. I’m terrified to go into the store sometimes because I can’t find what I need and the ladies will just be rude
Paid spotlight online through afterpay for a sewing machine week a machine 22/12 and told 2-5 delivery. 9 days later no contact from them machine fully paid by afterpay and payments still having to be made understandably to afterpay. Tried to call left waiting over half an hour. At an absolute dead end. VIP will not use again.
Zero customer service
Have been waiting to be served at the curtains and blinds counter at Mt Gravatt store for 35mins now, have asked staff to find someone to help me, no luck
Very disappointed with Noarlunga spotlight store, I purchased some towels about 8 weeks ago, at the time of the purchase I wasn't able to buy the full set ( bath sheets in the colour not available in store) I spoke with the sails assistant, and was told the bath sheets had been ordered and were coming in and she told me to put my name and details in the order at checkout and they will call me when they come in, which is what I did and I purchased the rest of the set, I called spotlight several times to see if they had come in , which I was to...ld they hadn't, the last time I called I explained to the woman I spoke to that I can't use the towels I had purchased because I didn't have the full set, she understood and again took my name and number and said they would call me when the towels came in , she also looked up the order and told me they were expecting an order of 28 towels, I was at the spotlight store today 28th December so I went in to have a look, and to my surprise there they were a shelf full of koo Egyptian cotton bath sheets in the colour violet, so I purchased them, but I am extremely annoyed that I wasn't called about this, what is the point of putting my name and details in the order book if no one calls to let you know, it's just by chance that I had been checking up on this, spotlight Noarlunga get you act together
Don't people waffle !!
I've purchased many items from Spotlight stores, variety of stores. Read many reviews but the most annoying was from a so-called Christian Fanatic who claimed they had removed the Christian theme balloons.. Guess we may have to accept some people waffle for the sake of it. Nobody cares and the Kids couldn't care less, elephant theme or talking peanuts on the balloons.

That does seem quite expensive in my opinion... I only purchased x6 Cushions. In saying that, I went into my
Local store as is seen the 50% off advertised, I grabbed x6 cushions, took to the counter (cause the ones I originally wanted they didn’t have any stock of) and the ones I took to the counter were not on special (despite being all mixed together) & were $49.95 each!!! I left them behind and proceeded to purchase the ones I originally wanted online.
