Fix your online store!!!
Extremely frustrated with Spotlights online store! I have previously reported issues with items in my cart disappearing when I go to checkout even when I am logged into my account! I have emailed and called Spotlight and they advised to use Chrome for browsing and said their online system is not designed for mobile phones! I know.. unbelievable in the day and age we live in doing everything off our smart phones! I tried Chrome and Firefox and used my laptop but I still get the same issue occasionally, it's as if their online system cannot keep ...up! When I reported the issue they asked for evidence which all I could send was a screenshot of an empty cart. You would think that if I reported the matter more than once and wasted my time on hold to speak to someone, that would be proof enough! When you have so many items in your cart and you have to re-add everything, it's easy to forget items you had originally. I asked Spotlight to add 2 items to my order that I had missed, about 5 hours since I placed the order overnight but they couldn't do this. I asked if I reordered these 2 items could they waive the shipping, they then said yes and asked for all the item details then said NO! and that I need to wait for a reply to my email! Yet in the meantime I am receiving emails saying other items are not in stock! That's another issue! You order products and half the time they're not in stock but their online system is so pathetic it can't keep up with anything! I'm beyond frustrated as Spotlights customer service and online system is absolutely appalling! They're not doing anything to keep up with the online shopping demand especially in this current pandemic and they have no consideration for their loyal customers even if they are their supposed VIP customers! They think because they're the only craft store they can provide a poor service and customers just have to put up with it! Never experienced such backwards and unfair service before! Disgraceful.

Purchased full price of $240 for an item that arrived with “discounted $100” on it. Open, damaged packing, appears used.
My question, is your online function just a way of getting rid of returns?

Don't order custom blinds from Spotlight Ballarat
My mum got blinds from "custom" made service at Spotlight Ballarat.
Photos show the gaps and how the blinds are narrower than the window glass. Also included is the tops of the blinds to show they could have been longer. The top of the blinds look cheap and badly installed.
[Name Removed], from the Ballarat spotlight store who measured windows had these these blinds when colour wanted wasn't available in venetian blinds. These blinds are completely unsuitable and if they were unable to make this type of blind fit properly, the consultant, [...Name Removed], should have been aware of and advised that. The blinds came and had huge gaps at the side and were not even close to covering windows and gave no privacy. I complained on my mother's behalf as she was upset but is not confrontational. In my complaint I also stated I did not think the blind type was suitable for the window, and the consultant should have the knowledge to advise that, rather than ordering them. Mum would have taken his advice. [Name Removed] came back re-measured and sounded surprised when I said I don't think the blinds are suitable. So the consultant knows less about blinds than I do, and I don't know much about blinds! The blinds came back today and still don't provide privacy and have large gaps at ends of windows. They also look cheap and construction is no better than the premade ones you can buy.
Paid $200 for a sewing machine that never arrived, awful customer service, they just don't care
Purchased a sewing machine for my wife for Mothers Day from our kids. Ordered it online for delivery in Melbourne. Was shipped from Melbourne and somehow made its way to Brisbane where it sat for days before finally coming back to Melbourne. It was apparently delivered last Friday, 2 days before Mothers day, except guess what.....NO DELIVERY. AusPost blaming Spotlight, Spotlight blaming AusPost. Just a horrible experience. I have one very upset wife and 2 even more upset kids that this was how their mothers day panned out. Never again. I've always hated the garbage service i receive at the Hoppers Crossing store so thought buying online would be easier, what a mistake.
Made to Measure Blinds
Bought blind for ensuit because could not cut down fauxwood venetians which would have cost about $70 for my size window. Measure and quote price was $330 this was on special with a 50% discount. Original price would have been over $600. What a joke. Catch me at bad time. I should never have ordered them. Had to wait over 9 weeks for them to be fitted. Don't be caught like me. Get other quotes. Very overpriced.
Bought roman blinds, after buying was told we can't return them even if there was a warranty.
The blinds are blackout blinds and do work but that the only thing they do right,
The chain keeps falling of, they both have different speeds when putting up/down, they get stuck when trying to put down,
Tried returning but got told no returns so don't waist your time buying, waist of money and they weren't really that cheap either.
Finally got my made to measure sheer curtains, only took 7 months. After waiting 5 months for them to be made, they were 50cm too long and I was told it would take another month to take hems up!!! Except it took 2 months. The installer came out a total of 4 times because the store kept giving him the wrong hooks. That’s 4 days I had off work. I could have built a whole house quicker than they make curtains.
Fail - $10 off Coupon texted for a Mothers Day spend incentive 8/5/21
SPOTLIGHT sent an “exclusive” $10 off coupon offer texted to my phone - for use on 8/5/21 - intended as a Mother’s Day spend incentive. I visited my local Spotlight store - what a debacle for $10 toward a purchase .... Spotlight why send your VIP members offers they cannot redeem because of the way your system is set up/or not set up? FAILURE of the link to produce a “bar code voucher” so I was told, no backup plan, forget about the offer ... the store Manager was very unhelpful making a fuss implying that I couldn’t operate my own phone! An...other staff member made it clear she had had to say NO to other customers wishing to redeem their offers as invited, due to issues unknown to me. Waste of time, customers are obviously not valued by Spotlight, total lack of customer service, no help, and complete disinterest in honouring THEIR INITIATED OFFER to get customers in store - I personally found the Manager to be unhelpful and disrespectful - now no longer a VIP member and will never spend money at Spotlight again. Spotlight lost business of blinds/curtains for two properties. Spotlight 8/5/21 was a great example of how not to treat customers and therefore how to permanently get rid of customers and all for the sake of your refusal to honour your offer sent to me. Glad I found out how difficult Spotlight would be before I placed a huge order, probably saved me a lot of further future hassles, particularly based on reviews here.

Easy and totally hassle free service for made to measure shutters. Paying them off gradually was a great way to spread the cost.

The process for arranging an in home measure and quote is horrendous from the first on line form where you put all your details and select a date for a consultant to come out to your home right through to no one turning up on the agreed date !!!
No one replies or acknowledges your online request . Then all of a sudden you receive a phone call ( well after the appointment date (i.e. 2 weeks) you selected ) and the lady asks you all over again for all the details you were asked for in the online form. Happy with all the products online , if they haven’t got it in there store they will find it in another stall well done
Appalling all over
Over the past few years (even before Covid) I have found that a number of Spotlight stores have gone down hill dramatically. I have found when I search for products online that says available in store then gone to the store they’ve sold out or is not available. I have also found their staff to be very rude and unprofessional. This has happened at a number of different stores as well as finding the stores messy and too cluttered which then can be a hazard.
I am not impressed at all.

20 different emails from them in 24 hours - most of which are saying they can't stock my items - they've returned 5 different items already, I paid more in postage because I bought 9 things.
I emailed them to tell them what is going on and got a robotic response about how I signed the terms and conditions that absolves them from any wrongdoing.

Completely inefficient and inconsistent
I have ordered from Spotlight a few times and am always amazed at their disorganised delivery service. I only order wool so it's not urgent. However, I find that the order arrives in bits and pieces from all different stores Australia wide. They have on occasion posted me one ball of wool from a far flung destination! Also, sometimes they leave the parcel at my front door (which is at my request) and other times I've had to go to the Post Office to pick up. They also take such a long time to complete the delivery. I ordered some items for a bab...y shower this Saturday but have been advised that they will arrive next Monday! I ordered a whole range of things from other companies on the same day I did my Spotlight order and they have already arrived. I'm going back to old school shopping - no more online from Spotlight!!
Never again spotlight is horrible to shop
Bought a frame and went home and the glass just shattered every where I was bit shocked and I went back on the same day and bought another one and told what happen for the other frame and told can I bring back get a refund and they quickly said no and was bit rude and didn’t ask how nothing and I was so disappointed anyways came home and open the frame and the frame was so terrible like so delicate to touch because it will broke .. I will never shop there the products looks not good quality at all other shops can do better then spotlight
Harassment, worst ever service, no commitment
It has been close to 4 months since we placed order for curtains. We were promised 6 weeks, now its 15 weeks still no one in spotlight taking responsibility. Series of events - measurement was wrong, fabric was wrong, tracks lost, misleading messages, installer came without tracks, again tracks lost, installation postponed just last minute - all kinds of bad surprises beyond imagination. We were told to pay remaining balance and promised everything is ready. We paid and it has been 10 days, still nothing happened. Never seen such a poor servi...ce. There is no one at senior level to take responsibility, no one accountable in spotlight, no one answerable to customer. Just harassment by spotlight. We have to take legal route to sue spotlight now.
I jumped on here to write a review to let others know of our experience.. I have however seen many other reviews that mirror our experience perfectly.. we order over 12 months ago, waited 6 months for delivery.. blinds arrived incorrect after paying in full, our first two installers even thought they were booked never turned up, we are still waiting for a curtain rod as they could fix the pully system that was originally recommended to close the curtains so currently 12 months down the track after paying in full we have curtains that don't close properly are too narrow so have gaps at either end and don't met in the middle.. and our phone calls are seldom returned.... I would never use this company again.
12 weeks since three of five windows of roman blinds have been sent back to the factory for five windows to be re made. I would advise to shop somewhere else. Never use spotlight for curtains if something goes wrong you will not be able to get any satisfaction or a honest response. Still waiting!!!!

Spotlight Online is a 100% infuriating waste of time & space. I've stupidly made this mistake more than once & post this review to warn others of the futility of assuming anything on Spotlight website actually exists.
I've spent hours viewing copious listings, narrowing down to a careful selection, & paying for chosen items available for purchase, & all I received in return were a series of 'ORDER CANCELLED' emails equal to the individual number of items I 'purchased'. Apparently they have next to no stock & no idea how to update inventory. I'...
Intimidating and aggressive Customer Service
I bought a Quilt Cover from Spotlight in Mandurah and when I took it out of the package, found that is was a type of bedspread which is not what I expected and not what the label said, so packaged it back up again to return it.
I asked the cashier at Spotlight if I could return it and the first thing she said was no as it wasn't repacked EXACTLY! as when I bought it, she then said and also, it's a clearance item and we don't refund any clearance items for any reason. I was surprised that she didn't even bother to ask me why I wanted to return...it but I explained the problem anyway. She told me that of course it was a quilt cover so I asked her to have a look at it and tell me where the opening for the quilt is. Naturally she couldn't find it and didn't bother to apologize. She said she would get the manager. The manager came and looked at it and said I couldn't return it as it was a clearance item. I explained that I knew my legal rights and it wasn't 'fit for purpose' as the label clearly says it was a quilt cover and it is not. She said she knew legal rights herself being in the position that she is in and carried on with some nonsense. I was very upset by this stage and close to tears but held my position. Once the manager realized this, she changed her decision as she knew I was in the right legally, she would have noticed that I couldn't be intimidated and therefore likely take this to consumer affairs. I got my refund but was so upset and couldn't believe how rude she was just because I wanted to return an item, I didn't deserve this aggressiveness. I felt this was her normal disposition and it's not right. I have never, every been treated this way at other large retail stores when returning or exchanging an item. Shame on Spotlight.
