Hopefully there customer service gets better they are hard to trying talk to there communication is not very good and you have to pay for your service when it won't even be working for over a month bit of a ripper off not happy
This is a critique of a pre-sales experience. I was looking to purchase a two transceiver solution: one for home and the other for my 4WD, sharing one account and turning either into standby mode when not in use. On the face of it, it seemed like an elegant solution. Then I sought solutions. Trying to get detailed information regarding hardware… Read more
is nigh on impossible. The web site shows glossy pictures of the transceivers but no details about connectivity, mounting and durability. Allegedly there is a store which shows individual components but try as I may, couldn't connect to it.
Trying to speak to a human being is impossible with this business as their entire interactions are with an Ai bot. That interaction made me feel threatened with the condescending attitude of the artificial speaker coming through. All they wanted was for me to sign up and get off the line for the next potential customer. I have never had such an experience with any sales staff in my almost sixty years of business interactions.
I closed the discussion with some facts, no clear picture and a feeling of hostility from the system. If this is the way of the future then I don't look forward to it. If this is how I am left to feel when I'm not even a customer, imagine how badly I will feel trying to diagnose a bug in their system. Time to look elsewhere.
We used to love our local start up fixed wireless company, but last 6 months we noticed a dropped in speed particularly during peak we paid 100 Mbps but during peak it can dropped to 30 Mbps. It was frustrating. My work mates all raves about Starlink, I was apprehensive at first since many bad reviews on this platform, but decided to take the… Read more
risk. From ordering to installation it took about 3 weeks, the first two parcels were the stand and backing, the last parcel is wiring and dish. Although Starlink provided the tracking number and the items all arrived but only a day prior to installation date. However at each stage we did get sms asking us for feedback. We paid the $200 for installation.
First 2 days after installation, the family loving it, in the past we have issue watching Live programme (TVB show from Hong Kong) on one of our devices but last two days we did not encountered any buffering. No drop out at this stage as well, the lowest speed we encountered was 150Mbps. Most of the time it within 200Mbps, I am impressed.

I signed up to Starlink because they were running a promotion that included free Starlink hardware, free installation, and a free Starlink Mini hardware rental. The main hardware and installation went ahead, but the Starlink Mini has still not been supplied. I redeemed it correctly through the process Starlink provided, and then the order somehow… Read more
showed as cancelled.
Since then, I have had to follow this up multiple times. I have been told it was being reviewed, then told it would be ordered, then told it had been placed and that I would receive tracking details once shipped. Weeks later, I followed up again because nothing had arrived, only to be told the order is still on hold at the distribution centre.
That is not good enough.
This was part of the promotion I signed up for. It was not something extra I asked for later. Starlink promoted the offer, I signed up based on that offer, and now they have failed to deliver what was promised.
The most frustrating part is the lack of ownership. Every time I follow up, I get another vague answer or apology, but no actual resolution. I have wasted far too much time chasing something that should have been handled properly from the start.
I have also recommended Starlink to other people, which I now regret. The internet service itself may be good, but the customer service and handling of this promotion has been extremely poor.
Promotions should be honoured. If a company offers something to get people to sign up, they need to follow through.
Apparently there is an auto activation of account even after full delivery has taken place only 24hrs ago and installation isn’t for nearly 2 weeks, I’m still being billed for a service I’m unable to use through no fault of mine. I never consented to auto activation, and the only “solution” they can offer is to downgrade the plan or “pause” plan… Read more
which ironically cancels out the 4 month promo and free rental which I bought under. HERE I was thinking I was supporting “the good fight” when clearly I’m being ripped off more than Telstra, therefore defeating the purpose! WILL SOMEONE BRING TO THE PEOPLE A TRANSPARENT COMPANY THAT OFFERS FAST UNINTERRUPTED INTERNET AND DATA USAGE WITH TRANSPARENT BILLING-ONLY BEING BILLED FOR WHAT THEY ARE USING AND IT ACTUALLY WORKS? I’m tired of being ripped off! This is not a great first experience and at this stage I cannot recommend Starlink to anyone. AI “support” is not a solution based service, only a pacifier to the subscriber until they figure out nothing will be done and then they leave.
Although the product works well Starlink has just increased their Standby fee from $8.5/month to $15/month. A 76% increase.
I can not log into my account A ticket was made with my details and then they ask me to log into to find an answer ???? I CANT log into the account .. beyond frustrating Show details
Chasing 100MBps speed had to switch to Starlink as NBN service required earth work around my property to connect. Secure and fast shipping of the kit, no pre cost, super fast installation, intuative app and great support from Startlink team (Bot?). Allowed me to save AU30$ per month on 100MBps plan!!! mouse click in Startlink account settings. Been reliable, without "detectable" drop-outs so far. Love it.

While the product itself is fantastic, if you have an issue and want to contact customer service, the Grok AI gatekeeps the ability to submit a ticket. While they want to claim that the peeling white film is not a warranty issue, the fact the product is designed to sit out in the weather and sun to point at satellites, and the film is damaged from… Read more
that, means the material is not Fit For Purpose so I now have to take it up with the Australian Consumer Authorities. Such a shame as I was a massive advocate for Starlink
Router was the only appliance to fail after recent storm blackout. Went and bought a new one and all connections have changed, bought a new kit in desperation - planning to rewire house roof setup. Couldn’t migrate service to new hardware. Useless automated non-personal support. Advice was to cancel and setup a new subscription - that then had a “demand surcharge” of $1.295!!! Show details

group for activation who are unprofessional and unskilled for installation. I would not recommend Starlink to anyone. Pathetic service.
Follow-up · After consistently following up with the Circl Group via email, they assigned another technician and prioritised my installation. The system was professionally installed, and it has now been a month. So far, I have experienced no issues with the connection or service, and everything has been working reliably.
ALWAYS cuts out. Not reliable at all. Starlink is meant to be able to be used anywhere and everywhere - you can’t get much closer to the sky than 3000elevation above sea level. And it still doesn’t work.

But then they just activated my plan anyway forcing me to set up on the ground as no roof mount was provided. Within 1 day my wife drove over it. Then the next day they send me a message that the price is increasing by about 50% from the next month. Their chat bot then refused to acknowledge the promo I signed up with even existed. I then managed to get a person on the chat and they acknowledged the promotion but still said their would be a price increase which is a direct breach of the contract they made with me under their promotion which they are still currently advertising on their own home page. Absolutely one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.
Follow-up · They gave me some credit towards my account but it was less than what was agreed to at sign up. They ripped me off. I guess what can you expect from Musk?
Positive reviews
Hope I'm not regretting leaving a 5-star review but my experience was definitely 100% positive! I ordered & paid the startup kit, received it in less than a week. Plugged it in and had 200Mbps instantly after i aligned the dish. The speed does have a bit of fluctuations but it's 90% of the time above 100mbps. I got rid of Swoop after 10 years… Read more
ranging from 'average-to very bad service'! Not to mention they went 'off-shore' with tech support in 2024 so that is just absolutely horrendous if you have any issues with anything. No other ISP can offer what Musk's Starlink can offers and they are upgrading and rolling out better speeds and cheaper prices all the time so, I cannot imagine changing again!! They can change their name to Five-Star-Star-link...
Changed from Fixed wireless to Starlink. Downloads 4x faster. Upload 10x faster. slight delay as you connect for the first time of the day. However after that it is by far better.
Great offer, but it takes time $47.00 for the first 3 months with 100Mbps is a great offer. Hardware is provided, and you only pay for installation (if needed). The only problem is with the delivery. The pipe mount and adapter were delivered just one week after ordering. However, the installer called three times a week to ask if the kit (antenna,… Read more
modem, etc.) had been delivered. That's exactly what's missing. Anyone who enjoys typing their fingers to the bone with an AI only to get unhelpful answers will find Starlink perfect. I'm supposed to log in every day to check the progress. After requesting a callback from a human (3 times) from Grok AI, I received the tracking number one day later. Meanwhile, the price also changed from $69 to $75 after the 3-month period.
Now for the installation service for $159. Do you have a ladder? Well, you'll need one, because your installer doesn't bring one. Neither does he provide duct tape or cable ties. After some friendly guidance on where the old satellite dish mast is located and holding the ladder, the dish is finally installed. It wasn't worth it. Rather disappointing. You're better off doing the installation yourself, because $159 is too expensive. Regarding the connection itself:
I'm still using NordVPN. I can't complain, and in four months I've saved $10 while getting double the speed compared to Superloop.
So, aside from the waiting time and the somewhat cumbersome setup, I highly recommend it.
Update: Last week we had heavy rain and my roof is now leaking. There's water damage on the ceiling, caused by a broken roof tile. Right next to the antenna. Now I have to pay for this damage too, because neither Starlink nor their installers will be paid.
Update: After four weeks, the Starlink dish installer finally contacted me. He wanted pictures showing where the roof was leaking (no normal person waits four weeks; they would have their roof repaired immediately).
Warning: If you experience problems with Starlink, cancel your contract the same day and switch to another provider. They are already online with the new provider long before Starlink offers them a solution – and then they still don't have a solution.
A friend who lives in the US simply said:

installation. I then found that Starlink had, without my knowledge or authority, debited my bank account that I had paid the postage from with a subscription priced higher than the product advertised and commencing from the day after I had sought a product online and long before I could eventually receive the required aerial package and have its freely installed so that I might access the subscription. After incredible difficulty, and only able to gain access to Starlink’s AI system, I found that I had not been subscribed to the advertised product I sought but had instead subscribed to a more expensive product that required self-installation and subscription payable from the day of ordering despite only being accessible once the ariel had been received and installed. Certainly, I did not want a more expensive subscription nor could I install a rooftop aerial suffering polyarthritis so would certainly not have knowingly ordered the product I was supplied. Unable to gain genuine access to Starlink to resolve the problem I referred my problem to the Telecommunications Ombudsman who has access to Starlink. I also arranged for my bankers to deny Starlink’s further repeated attempts to charge me for an unauthorised subscription that could not be accessed. After many weeks the Australian TIO managed to have Starlink refund the unauthorised subscription taken from my bank account and to receive the useless to me aerial back. Statlink however is not prepared to refund the postage cost paid to receive the unwanted arial so I guess this multi-billion company needs every 19 dollars that it can grab one way or another as well as charging subscription fees to supply services to customers well before they can actually access the services. My problem with Starlink is now closed though they still claim I did order the product I didn’t want or could not use but have suggested that I might have pressed a wrong key when trying to order the product really, I wanted. Certainly, I may have pressed a wrong key though as an ex-IT professional I would doubt it and if I were a Starlink IT professional I would certainly be going over my code to ensure customers could not press incorrect keys.
I live in regional Australia. The quality was poor at times with buffering during movies. It cost $850 to have it professionally installed, though the kit was free as a rental. If you don’t return it 30 days after cancelling the service you get charged the full price. They will not allow a rental kit to be transferred to another party. I’ve gone back to Telstra.
Terrible customer service, all scripts, no understanding of real world circumstances. They requested personal / private information that was not relevant & still refused to action the request. I feel deeply uncomfortable with the details I was forced to provide them under the guise they would assist with a simple hardware return, only for them to refuse despite all evidence provided.

I'm not one to complain, but my experience with Starlink has been absolutely trash. Their promotion advertised $49/ month for 4 months, then (I think) $69/ month, ordered the kit, took quite a while to arrive, after contacting their AI (non) support, it arrived, but shortly after we get an email that the price will increase to $75/ month after the… Read more
promo introductory period ends. First month I'm charged $49, next month $75, got onto their non support and after asking repeatedly all I get back is that my account shows the $49 only applied for the first month, they would not explain why I didn't get the promotion as advertised, it's like they were denying it ever existed, but not actually saying it. I finally got a ticket to speak to a real person, but got the same reply, but I hounded them with the same question. Next morning I get answer and an email, they're applying a "courtesy credit" of $20/ month. Morale of the story, don't give in to them
Really all I can say is DON'T BOTHER... you'll get given a phone number to get help which is really good with the exception it doesn't answer and other numbers can't be connected. WA has limited connection and may be difficult to use between 6pm to 11pm and crowding by users gets you booted off the service only to go in a queue. It was a good idea until I dug deeper and then the truth reared its ugly head so I got my refund asap.

for the fact that they literally have no customer service and their ridiculous offer of $25 compensation is completely insufficient. I encourage anyone who has had similar problems to do the same, I can't envisage anything happening based on a few complaints here and there.
Actual service 5 star. Chatbot - zero stars (typical timewaster. Lodge a support request don't waste your time here) Human support - 4 1/2 stars (takes 24-48 hours) Supply channels - zero stars JB Hifi for selling encumbered devices at full retail.
The absolute WORST customer service ever. thought I would give them a go. Next think I know - no install forthcoming at all, poor contact on the matter. So next thing Starlink start charging me for use of services whilst there service provider has still not installed the system, mind you this was well over a month, actually nearly two waiting for circl (compay) to show up still haven’t seen them. IT gets worse they then double the standby mode to $15 plus a month (over 50% increase!!!) and also increased the residential max plan so cost blow out at a time the cost of living has gone through the roof. I think they thought I had it installed so was trapped. Luckily however, starlink contract installers where unreliable and never showed up. I have since asked for a refund absolute amateur hour! Do not fall all the hype. I do not recommend these services and as mentioned cancelled mine. Seems shonky paid for something I didn’t get.
Purchased starlink on special deal for 49 per month for four months then 69 per month there after, kit arrived over a month later havnt put it up yet and recieved a bill for 75 if they can't honour a deal this early I have alarm bells ringing ,might send the unopened box back.i opted for this deal because it is what I can afford atm
I was getting really frustrated with our NBN internet service. Internet is really important due to Hybrid working arrangements. to wait for the modem for almost two weeks. Then, I procrastinated for another one week after receiving it because sometimes the imagination is worse than reality. The installation is plug and play. Just make sure the connectors are plugged in firmly. Then away it goes. My internet connection is now via compact satellite rectangular receiver. Today is overcast but I am still getting full reception with double the speed for uploading and downloading. The cost is discounted for the initial month but the regular cost is the same as my old internet service provider. I thought I’d share this information as I am very satisfied with this service.
Starlink Fee Increase My ongoing conservation with the AI at Starlink This whole conversation started when Starlink DOUBLED the fee for Mini on standby OUTRAGEOUS, especially when it does nothing but sit on the roof of my car. touch with the fact in Australia we are in a recession at the moment and the cost of living is going through the roof.
It is too hard to justify this additional cost and will only lead to cancel the service.
This is also OUTRAGEOUS because it cost over $700 to get the residential service setup.
Also to charge $600 for the mini is just gouging the customers, I can go to my local hardware and by $400.
Plus I sent $300 to Mount to roof on my car.
