Would not advise buying one – I don't advise the strider at all, my sister has one and as I m expecting soon I have been looking around at lots of different prams. And don't advise the strider one of the back wheel on hers is Buckeled and sqeeks constantly not only that you can't fit down a shopping Isle next to a trolley because the back wheels are stupidly large and poke… Read more
out to far and the carry basket under the prams is small and has a zipper half was across it so you can't put a nappy bag under it.

love reversible seat – i bought this pram for my first baby but should of gotten something with a toddler seatattachment option. i loved that i could have him facing me or away, the basket is nice and big and it feels very stable and secure.i find it easy to fold but the steering isnt as smooth and easy as the valco or phil and teds. its fine for walking on paved areas… Read more
but found it really bumpy hard to push and uncomfortable for the child on loose gravel. for the price you pay i found it fantastic but only really use it for walks and use a small stroller for shopping as previously mentioned it is a little wide but there are always disabled aisles these days anyway i got it on a good sale i loved the red colour, the reversible seat and the nice big shopping basket. my son seemed to like it and was comfy apart from the loose gravel roads no toddler seat attatchement (but i knew that when i bought it so thats my fault) not a smooth ride on rough terrain and a the back wheels click even with a good dose of WD40
Great pram, highly recommend – I bought this pram with the bassinet and used with my son til he was 20 months. The bassinet was great, used it instead of a travel cot when he was young. Also used the bassinet with my daughter. This was a great pram for walking as the wheels were wide and sturdy. Super easy to steer. I liked that you can put the pram seat facing either way. friend's had Bertini and Mountain buggy and traded them in for a Strider after using mine! Basket nice and deep, but can't be used with bassinet in place. The wheels are wide so can be a bit tricky in narrow shops, and you have to use the wheelchair aisle onthe supermarket. Collapses easily and fits into most boots. My friend had a Toyota Echo and can put it in her boot. Value for money, adjustable handle good for different height parents, wheels have no inner tubes so can't go flat, seat can be faced forwards or towards you, good size basket, fairly lightweight. My son is tall so he grew out of it before he was 2, width takes a bit of getting used to.
Excellent – Before I bought this pram I spent a lot of time researching and testing at the shops. I decided on this as it had the best review. I didn’t know how great the pram was until we spent last weekend away and my cousin organised another pram for us (it was a mothercraft...) anyway I now see how great the steelcraft strider is. We actually bough the… Read more
deluxe version as the shade visor opens up more and basically covers the baby totally. We also bought the basinet but my daughter always wanted to see what was going on so we transferred her to the pram seat at 1 month. The only down fall mentioned by others was the width but I don’t really go to shopping malls (if possible) so the pram suits us perfectly. Moves smoothly and easily, can easily steer with one hand
Very light
Large carry basket, relative easy to access
Allows lots of positions for baby to sit
Comes apart easily allowing for smaller storage
Large sun visor covering baby
Durable for rugged terrain I can't think of any

STEELCRAFT Strider – The STEELCRAFT strider pram system is excellent. The STEELCRAFT name is worth paying for, as the pram is indestructible, easy to collapse and put up and clean. The take two strider is perfect for a baby and toddler, with baby snug underneath and toddler riding high watching the world. The basket is extra large, perfect or stowing shopping. The… Read more
pram is indestructible. After 3 children it is still in excellent condition. It is reliable, and the safety features comforting. The only drawback is that it is a heavier pram.
Great pram. Quite bulky though – We bought this pram for our first child and will soon be using it for our third. It is a great pram - nice and comfortable, and we loved the fact we could have our baby facing us or facing out. It also has three lay back positions which are very easy to adjust. The sunshade is nice and large and there is a panel at the back you can use to check… Read more
on your baby if facing away. It's also really easy to steer as you don't change the wheel position when you change the seat position (you change the actual seat). The only downside is it can be quite bulky in the car (I take it apart to put it in the boot, but this doesn't take long at all) and the rear wheels are quite wide. Comfort, sturdy, movable seat, easy to steer. Quite bulky
great pram easy to use – I absolutely loved this pram.. Only problem was that it was a little too heavy and back wheels were too wide.. So glad the.compact has come out. Top seat was great for newborn or toddler and its recline was perfect. So many accessories that could be bought for this pram. Covers were great especially when you had both seat on.. love your work… Read more

Rude staff, waste of money!! – I purchased a strider from mothercare at full price, upon opening the box the hood, uv cover, rain cover and bottle holder was missing, they were sent out weeks later. It was repaired and front wheels replaced and at mothers group the other day I realised mine was different to all of the others,I never recievedthenice padded pram liner, upon… Read more
ringing got an absolute mole that told me it was too bad, had been too long and made me out to be a liar.. Will defiantly buy better quality next time!!!!! It'd be great if I had it all Parts missing, rude staff
Very annoyed – I've been using my steelcraft strider for 7 weeks, I do love the stability of it however the waist buckle has broken. I called the store I purchased it from and it's going to take 2 weeks to have it repaired!! I'm now worried if this has happened after 7 weeks what's going to happen after a year of use!! Sturdy Plastic parts appear cheap
Heavy & Bulky!!! – Having the Strider 4 seemed like a good idea at the time, not realising the hassles of getting it in and out of the ordinary checkout!!! Then the fact that it takes up so much of my boot space, and being such a heavy pram! On a lighter note the pram is amazing for walking and the fact that when you buy it, it already comes with the must haves;… Read more
boot cover, rain cover and there is no need to buy adaptors for the carrier!
Overall the pram isn't convenient for everyday use. The fact it came with all the must haves! Not fitting through the everyday checkout & not compact!

Amazing! 3rd time luck – I've had such terrible luck with prams. I have a 10 month old child and the strider is the 3rd and hopefully the last I get for a while. I first had a steelcraft eclipse, way too bulky, wheels would lock up, feel so heavy! My second pram was a steelcraft cruiser, I only just got rid of the pram not too long ago (possibly the worst pram ever… Read more
invented!) pram frame was broken, seat belt tooth pegs would break, sun visor was horrible and could only JUST fit in my boot ( med. size sedan)!!
Finally I got a steelcraft strider I feel like I'm in heaven, the best pram!
I absolutely love everything about it, fits in my boot, sun shade hood comes all the way down, extra storage and I could keep going on....
I wish I brought this pram 10 months ago and I've learnt spending that little extra money sure does pay off!! Everything
Fabulous pram – The Steelcraft strider is a sturdy and reliable pram with an extensive range of features, My favourite being the hood on the main seat as it unzips covering the child completely yet still allowing light and airflow. The pram is rather heavy but in my opinion I prefer something thats tough and not going to tip if I hang a bag over the handle. The… Read more
handle is adjustable which is great as it customises to your height and makes the experience of pushing your baby even better.
The seats fully reclineable as well as being able to change the seat from facing you to facing outwards as well!
Everything is detachable and the pram is easily put down and put up no fiddling around.
It also has other attachments purchased seperately such as a toddler seat which I also have and its great, My near 3 year old fits perfectly and loves his own special seat, The hood folds down as well making it comfortable in all conditions. You can also buy the baby capsule which transfers from your car into your pram with ease, I also have this and love how easy it makes transferring baby without the fuss of straps and disturbing baby,
A bassinet is also available which I don't have so can't comment with opinion on the attachment but have heard good things from other mothers. Sturdy and reliable, Comfortable for all using including the pusher! Quite heavy and hard to push on certain terrain,
Fantastic! Love it! – I have 2 small children and the Strider Plus is fantastic to have for walks or trips to the shops. Once you get the hand of it, it folds up easily and it great. It's a little bulky, but once you get going, the positive of having both children safe and comfortable outweighs the negatives. Convenient, safe, looks great, fairly affordable compared to most double prams. A little heavy and bulky which can be annoying in cafes and smaller shops.

BRILLIANT - best pram I've ever come across – This pram is the most brilliant pram I've ever come across. It IS very wide, however it's extremely sturdy and comfortable for bub/toddler. If you look at just the price, it's expensive. But when you take into account the fact that the price covers washable inner lining, rain cover, mesh cover, HUGE basket underneath - you really couldn't ask… Read more
for more. The wheels are removed with one simple button, allowing the pram to fit into practically any car boot. Easy to push, very sturdy and reliable. I LOVE this pram! Expensive, wider than every other pram on the market
the worst pram ever – I cant believe i wasted $900 on this pram! it's so heavy and bulky, and when i say heavy i mean it's really really heavy, i sold mine after 6 months, i just couldn't use it! id go shopping and it would get stuck at every checkout or i would have to knock displays over because the thing is so wide, my newborn couldn't lay down in it because it… Read more
doesn't lie flat, but she slides out of the seat too because it doesn't sit back far enough, i honestly couldn't give this waste of money of a pram a bad enough review i just hated it. It's built like a tank It weighs like a tank too, it's so heavy, expensive, baby cant get comfy in it
absolutly downright danerous – it would be safer to let my children play on the freeway than use this pram!! it has collapsed twice with my daughter in it!! if thats not bad enough.steelcraft claim that there is nothing wrong with it!! they even seen it when it wouldn't latch.. not acceptable. the wheels are two wide you cant get through a supermarket checkout. too heavy to… Read more
lift!! still wopndering why i threw good money away on it. steelcraft should be ashamed of this product
expensive, warranty is useless too wide heavy and will calapse on children!
Sturdy – I bought Steelcraft for a number of reasons. It is a reputed brand, the pram has solid rubber wheels - no need to worry about punctures and flat tyres - and is wide for added sturdiness. We wanted a pram that would withstand uneven surfaces but still offer a comfortable ride for our baby. It comes in a few different colours. I love that the… Read more · 1
seat is reversible, to make baby either rear-facing when they're really small or forward-facing as they enter toddler-hood. The seat also has three levels to recline. The pram is only collapsible in two pieces, so it tends to take up a bit of space in the boot. This is the only con I can think of, other than it takes a few turns before you learn to collapse it efficiently. Reliable, sturdy, very light and easy to push, maneuverable. It's REALLY wide - you need to use the wheelchair access checkouts, and it only collapses in two parts. I wouldn't recommend it for people with cars smaller than a stationwagon!
awesome!!!!!!!!! – Ok, after my first pram failed at being a jogger, I decided to buy the strider 4 . And I absolutely love it!!!!! Love the way you can position the seat rear or forward facing. Easy to fold and dismantle. Love the handle and the fact that I can raise it for my other half. Love everything about it. Except the fact that you can't have a toddler seat. loved everything!!!!!!! no toddler seat
Best pram ever – Travel systems so easy to use from car to pram without having to disturb the little one from sleeping. great for when you have school pickup and drop off's. Easy to fold. Huge storage compartment. Comes with all the accessories you need for no extra $. Takes a second seat. Love the colours Hot Pink limited edition. Love the colour Pink limited edition
Terrible – I would not recommend this pram at all. I am frankly astounded that it gets so many positive reviews. But then, there is nothing to stop paid representatives of the company from writing a review on this website I suppose. I have discussed the Strider's faults with other Strider owners, and they concur that the problems exist. There aren't any… Read more
This pram has 3 major faults. 1. The back wheels are ridiculously wide - moving around in even remotely small spaces is impossible. 2. The whole pram squeaks and creaks. All the wheels and the handle bar. I have tried oiling the wheels - to no avail. 3. There is no suspension at all. My son is constantly being bumped around.
Good – Extremely happy with purchase, its been easy to travel with we have flown insterstate 3 times and folds very compact. I like that it can adjust to my childs needs being interchangable. I was a bit concerned about purchasing as I had heard some negative feedback but we have been using ours for 3 months now and i have been very pleased. I really… Read more
like the fact that the seat and bassinet is interchangeable. We purchased the bassinet and my son which was born rather large at 4.1 kilos is still using it, mainly at home as we have a two storey house and this is the bassinet I use downstairs. I only just started using the toddler seat this week on our daily walks as he wants to look around now. Love the huge basket underneath. When using the bassinet it is very hard to access the basket underneath, this is not the case with the toddler chair. The toddler chair insert gets very hot for my child and we are not in summer yet.
Too wide and heavy for me – I purchased this pram for my first baby. I found the bassinet attachment handy. Also liked the fact the seat could be rear facing. But overall I found this pram to be too heavy and the back wheels too wide. I was always knocking things with the wheels. I found the two piece fold became tiresome when getting in and out of the car. Rear facing seat was handy as well as bassinet. Too big, wide and heavy

Worst pram I have ever purchased – Not happy with product at all. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone . Glad I bought it 2nd hand . Disapointed with Steelcraft on this one. I bought mine 2nd hand so cheap for me. Wouldn't buy one brand new. Basket is big but a pain to get to. Where do I start? Too wide for alot of checkouts, front right wheel locks, doesn't fully recline, big & bulky, heavy, back break hard to take off & put on, difficult to collapse !
too wide to fit through check out isles, too heavy, too hard to fold – This pram we found to be too heavy for my wife to fold and lift in and out of her 4x4. The width of it was too big to fit though the check out isles. Folding was difficult. has ability for second child seat in a travel system too heavy, hard to fold and too wide - wont fit through check out isles and lots of door ways.
I totally agree. Not worth the money !
Excellent – Overall I think this is a super product and will buy another one if I needed a pram. Its very easy to move around, the wheels never get stuck and I find the material of the pram to be easy to air out. The pram provides sufficient shade for my little Anna and its all I need in a pram. I recmend this product to young mums who does not want to sepnd… Read more
a whole lot of money but wants a good product that does the job. Actually ths really feels like a quality pram an very easy to monuver. Could have few more compartments.
OK – I did overall like this pram but I'm dissappointed it hasn't lasted me through his toddler years. If you can pick one up second hand for a newborn I'd say it would be worth it but you'll possibly need to upgrade when they are older. Seat is easily reversed so your baby can see you if wanted. Very large storage basket. The hard wheels mean you… Read more
never have a flat tire. Comes apart for easy lifting into the car. Suitable without bassinet for newborn. easy to steer. Seat doesn't fully recline which I would have preferred for newborn. My son is now 2 and his head already hits the canopy pushed back. He has outgrown it and he isn't a big child, so whilst they say up to 22kg it doesn't mean they'll fit height wise. Also I found that it didn't sit upright enough so he was always reclining and trying to pull himself forward to see out better. I had issues with my adjustable handle too, it would always slip back to lowest setting, not good for tall people, make sure this works properly before purchasing.
Excellent – For me its a bit big and heavy, but I think its actually on the lighter scale for prams. The back wheels are a bit wide and can catch on doorways and aisles when your shopping, but that does add to stability. Very nice for grocery shopping if you only need a few things, you can fit quite a bit in the basket underneath. Is really nice to push,… Read more
the baby seat turns around to face you or away, and can be used from newborn to about 3-4 years old. Has nice wheels, folds up fairly flat, and has a big basket underneath. A bit difficult to remove the seat cover to clean, but it can be done.
Good – I bought this pram from birth with the bassinette. The bassinette was fantastic as I had a small bub. I was also able to use this when overnighting at my parents house rather than using a porta cot. This pram and bassinette has also been used by my sister with her 1 yr old son from birth with no problems. Enjoyed the front/rear facing seat as… Read more
could keep my son out of direct sunlight if need be. Have asked for the pram back to use for walking as is good for off road. I really enjoyed using this pram. Deep basket. Cheaper than other prams with similar features we looked at (Peg Preggo Uno). Very easy to steer and my son looked very comfortable in the stroller fitting. Tether strap. Once my son was older he wanted to sit up straigher and we changed to a stroller. Can be a bit heavy if you have a bad back. Wheels are wide and can cause problems in smaller shops. No tray for parents but bought a jolly jumper caddy and is strapped on perfect.
Terrible – Buy something else. I look after my things, and this pram looks really shabby after just a short time. The handle has split. the wheels are worn bent and ugly. I wish I never got this pram, I hate it. The reversible seat is a great idea. I hate the width of this pram, I can't get through some checkouts and we have a big boot, but because the… Read more
wheel width is really big it only goes in one way. It looks like it will be nice and compact, but stick the pram in, then the seat as a separate thing, and it takes up the whole space. I really disslike this pram and wish I bought something else. The wheels are awful.
Good – At first I was looking at a Peg Perigo Skate which is $1300ish. Ridiculous when I found this for just over $400 and it had all I wanted (with a basket). I wanted a pram you could put facing front and back and one that easily reclined for a sleeping baby. Also this one is great for tall people like my husband and I as the handle extends out. I have… Read more
learnt how wide it is now and have no problem. Wheels are great for walking! Great pram!! So many features, great prices, easy to use, huge shopping basket, can be used from birth. Doesn't lay flat which was a problem for my daughter for a few weeks while she was learning to roll over but fine again now. A bit heavy and wide (have to use wheelchair isles in the shops)
Is the bassinet really necessary? – Thanks for your fabulous reviews! I'm thinking of getting the steelcraft strider for my baby to be and I'm wondering whether I'll also need to get the bassinet. I noticed one of the ladies mentioned her newborn slipped out, so she definitely required the bassinet. Has this been a common problem for everyone? Also I went and had a look at one… Read more
in a store and my husband was fiddling around with the front (little) wheels and they seem to come out of their sockets very easily. Has anyone experienced any problems?
OK – Overall, I would not buy this again & I would not recommend it to other Mums...just based on the size, the inconvenience of having to pull it apart to fold it & the damn locking wheel!!!!! The basineet attachment was wonderful when bubba was new & she still slept in it when we visited family & friends for dinner until she was 6 months old. The… Read more
seat attachment looks pretty comfortable too!
The basinette & seat can be rear facing so I can see bubba's face. Once she got big enough I faced her forwards in the seat so she could watch the world go by, which she loves! The front left wheel constantly locks in position which makes steering super hard.
The material the seat is made from is really hot & sweaty in summer so I had to buy a lambskin to line it...there wasn't one made to fit but the one for the Phil & Teds Vibe fits really well.
Very big & buly so forget about it if you have a tiny car.
The basinetts has to come off to fold the pram & if the seat is in a rear facing position it has to come off to fold.
Good – We have the Strider 4 PLUS. I walk in our local area nearly every day (nb I dont put it in my car every day!) and I LOVE this pram, it fits lots of shopping in the basket in addition to my massive nappy bag. The wide wheel span really has not been an issue, other than at an occasional pokey cafe or shop. We also have the capsule and bassinet… Read more
attachments. I RARELY used the bassinet, I found baby's head wobbled around too much (she was 1 month prem and 2.7 kg at birth), and so used the capsule instead, until baby was about 3 months old, when I started using the seat it comes with. NB I didnt think this seat was appropriate for my tiny newborn, it way too big, but the capsule was fine. I absolutely loved the convenience of the travel system aspect of the capsule, and will be sad to swap over to a regular seat. Looks great, easy to steer (even one handed), very strong and sturdy, great wheels, feels very safe, HUGE basket, easy to assemble/ disemble/ recline/ fold etc ONCE YOU HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS(!!), great sun visor. Its heavy, large, wide wheel span and takes up most of my Mazda 3 hatch boot, many operations require two hands simultaneously. I permanently have the fabric sun shade attached, but which it could be better attached to the pram so that it doesnt slip around or blow into baby's face on windy days.
Good – Overall I am happy with the strider, in the beginning i found it hard to fold up and down but did get quicker at using it.I have not have any problems with it and my baby was more then happy to sit in at all ages .I would buy this product again and have no problems recommending it .I did purchase the bassinet for my newborn and felt that i did not… Read more
need it for long as they tend to grow out of it quickly .I have had it for over years now and still looks new and trendy .Like the overall style and design. Steers well . Able to take on rough terrain. Versatile (can change to bassinet for newborn) Well priced . Well made. Easy to clean, practical fabric .
Tyres do not go flat
Has a large storage basket on the base which i have found is very handy. Wide wheels so sometimes hard to fit thru small door ways or aisles in shops .
Base is heavy and can be bulky in a small car boot.
This model you are not able to add another seat for another baby/child but was told this by the sales girl when i bought the product.
Good – I love this stroller and would recommend it - however if buying again, I would get the Strider Plus so you have the option of taking two babies. We've had this stroller for over a year now with no problems. The sun canopy is great and I love being able to turn the seat in either direction. We also had the bassinet attachment for our newborn which… Read more
was well worth the money. I also recently bought a Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat (capsule up to 14kg)and can attach it to our strider with the carseat adaptor - this makes it a travel system and is better than the carset you buy from steelcraft for the DLX or new Strider Plus as it lasts much longer and is great from premmie to large bubs. I bought this adaptor from Uppababy (the Strider is identical to their Vista) and you can also get a toddler seat (called a rumbleseat) and a skateboard that also fit this stroller. We tried a Phil & Teds for a couple of weeks and our baby did not like the sun in his face all the time (we couldn't reverse the seat) and it was also awkward to recline the seat. I also find the Strider much easier to steer and it seems more stable than a 3 wheeler. The wheels are a little wide and sometimes get stuck in tight spots, however I'm thinking of buying the thinner wheels from Uppababy (for their Vista stroller)that also fit the Strider. Also the zipper on the under basket is a bit anoying - it would be better without it all together.
