I'd give it 3 and half stars – The pluses - nice high reversible seat so baby can connect with parent or look out to the world. HUGE, and I mean really huge easy to access shopping basket beneath The seating system with the toggle allows you to adjust recline at any degree, although daughter did want to sit more upright than what is do able The hood/canopy-… Read more
extendable, Nice and big, altho a pull back cover over the mesh for rainy days would be great. Would be great also if the mesh was white to deflect UV rays.
The minuses-
This is a BIG, super wide and heavy pram that doesn't sit flat in my SUV boot, even with seat taken off, hence I have to sort of prop it sideways where it clunks back and forth when I stop and take off (very slowly I might add)
Also due to its wideness, we had an issue when exiting a local bakery today where the right wheel caught I the exit door and nearly tipped bubs out, the only thing that stopped this was its heaviness.
In summarising, its a good pram that would be ideal for those who gave to walk to get the shopping and need it to manouvre over playground bark chips and grass. Also the fact you can add a seat makes it appealable to those wishing to extend their families. But it is not a pram you can take in the car and use with ease. If you're going to buy this pram, maybe get something lighter and smaller for car trips like a city select, or a valco.
Loved this pram! – I bought this pram in kingfisher in early 2010 and used it for my daughter up until recently. I also bought the bassinet with it. The bassinet is fantastic, it's such a generous size and lasted my bubs until over 6 months, although I had swapped to the seat by then to allow her to look around. It was still used to take to friends and family… Read more
houses as a portable place to sleep and sometimes was even used inside our house as well or I would remove it from the pram at mothers group so she could sleep undisturbed as the pram had to be left outside.
The seat itself was also fantastic, with 3 recline positions and a great hood. We also saved money as all the accessories came with it.
There was a slight squeak with one of the wheels early one but my husband put some wd40 on it and we had so problems after that.
The pram is a little wide, but this is to account for the second seat weight. I usually didn't have an issue moving around but in the little $2 shops and some supermarkets aisles were a problem or restaurants.
Unfortunately my daughter grew out of the seat by about 2 years, so we put the pram away.
Resale value is good too, I bought mine for $500 + $169 for the bassinet brand new, resold all for $370 after 2 years.
A few issues I had apart from the wheel and the width-
1. We now are having our second child but I've had to look into a new double pram as my daughter doesn't fit in the main seat anymore. Also I didn't like the idea of putting a newborn in the bottom seat, close to the floor, or my toddler behind the main seat as she wouldn't be able to see. The second seat only takes 15 kilos, so was not suitable for my toddler either as she is 17 kilos.
2. Pram frame is quite heavy, especially for a mum to carry around.
3. Basket/mesh can be a little flimsy, the zipper puller came off the basket within 2 weeks of buying the pram and I've noticed (while I didn't have the issue) a lot of prams had tears in the basket mesh and mesh in the hood.
4. Not enough accessories to be able to buy separately- like a food tray which is annoying when you have a toddler.
5. New configurations on the updated version of the pram- if these had been available on the original pram I wouldn't have to resell it.
6. Some issues with the brake foot dropping while walking which was frustrating, also very hard to lift up if you were wearing thongs etc.
7. Unable to wash main seat (only inserts).
Otherwise, I loved this pram ands as very sad to sell it. Came with everything, comfy padding, easy washing of inserts, great price, durable. No food tray, slight issues with brake, wheel, toddler grew out of it fast, frame heavy.
Great Pram almost 2 years old and still going strong – Great pram this is my second strider my first being a Take 2 but I wanted one to take 2 children and in the early days a capsule this time. I did make the mistake of picking the lighter colour available the silver which is hell to keep clean because when you are loading it in the boot and it is rubbing against the wheels and children with food… Read more
and stick fingers it is forever being cleaned and still looks dirty with the boot marks that don't wash/soak out. However it has been a fantastic pram with my toddler being comfortable while the baby is at a good high. Also the easy of turning the main seat to suit the capsule just being able to clip in easily and the ease of adjusting the main seat when attached is just great. I would buy another Steelcraft Strider with no hesitation Fantastic pram, sturdy and hard wearing. Still a large set up when you are trying to pack away in boot doesn't really leave much room The clips for the belts are weak and break easily. I had replacements sent under warranty but there was no mention of having them fitted I was just given a bag with 2 new straps with clips however you have to have them professional fitted as they are sown to the chair.

Perfect for baby – I have strider plus dual seat pram. Awesome working. Comfortable for baby. Good adjustment for more comfort. Easy to use. Fold the pram very easily. 2nd seat for elder one. So you can manage 2 kids. Sunproof cover and rain cover with UV protection. Good material in good price.worth to buy it Show reply
Love it – Very happy! Easy to manoeuvre and very versatile, only problem I am facing now is it is very heavy and bulky but most prams are! I love the look of the brown leather look handles and safety bar and the rear facing option! I have used the pram since birth of my daughter and she could comfortably sleep in there!
Loved this pram! – This was our first pram and I absolutely loved it! We had the capsule to start with and the toddler seat for later. Loves that it could face either way. Straps were nice and strong and had 3 good seat settings. I didn't think this pram was too heavy, and it was rarely too wide to fit places. Three wheels made it great to steer. Had excellent shade… Read more
that you could unzip to create more coverage. Awesome big storage basket underneath. The only reason we got rid of it was because then second seat underneath did not recline very far as our kids often take naps in here when we are out and only one could nap in the top seat at a time.
Negative reviews
strider plus problems – The pram belts are very difficult to use and it get stuck inside the holes. It's very heavy and bulky takes a lot of room, second seat is not very convenient. The colour fades very early. Not so easy to fold. Good things, They used good quality material and good for the safety of kids.
Heavy, bulky, reason its been discontinued – Takes up lots of space in boot. Don't try and lift after birth or you'll strain yourself (ridiculous considering its a pram!), annoying to assemble every time you need to use it. Over priced. Seat is extremely small!!! Only sized for babies, not larger toddlers. Good size basket, baby can face you.
A very wide-wheeled pram – I have pram envy of other mothers. Mainly because I find this pram very wide and cumbersome and I seem to always clip objects on the floor or people's feet with the overly-large wheels. The good elements of this design are the seat attachments - easy to clip on and off, particularly with transporting capsule from car to pram. If you are a jogger,… Read more
a three-wheel pram is more manoeuvrable, however if you're not keen on this form of exercise a four-wheel pram is more stable and in my opinion a much better option.

Best pram – Love this pram. Has a back and front adjustable seat. Great for newborn to toddler. Heaps of covers and waterproof tops, adjustable gadgets. Really easy to use and fold. A bit heavy. Bit worth it for the expense. You'll only need this one pram throughout the whole childhood. Love ours!
Amazing – This is amazing! I have the second seat attachment also and regularly go for walks with two toddlers, 9kg & 12kg in weight and it is just so easy to maneuver, even on grass and rocky surfaces. It's not big and bulky either. I'm 5"3 and find the handle bar adjustment perfect for my height also. Wish I had purchased one years ago!
Great pram easy to use – My pram i brought second hand from a lady who had hers just iver a yr and ive now had it for nearly 2 yrs and its been thrown in the back of the car used and abused pretty much and it is still going strong today. The only issue and question i would ask is if the straps can be changed or is there an extension for them as they are very short? Also the back wheels are very wide but in saying that i find i dont kick my toes on the wheels at all
Durable and so worth it! – We've had our Strider for 4 years and have been overseas with it too. Used it with our first babe and now with our second and no hassles. I do a lot of outdoor exercise and it's held up on my long walks and runs, over smooth and gravel roads. The inserts are easy to remove and wash. I also love that the foot rest is adjustable for extra comfort… Read more
for baby and when bubs falls asleep. Seat and capsule clip on and off with ease and the pram is nice and stable.
If I had my time over, I would not pick this pram again – I have pram envy of other mothers. Very heavy pram – We got this pram second hand from a friend and didn't really try it out before our baby was born. If I had researched more I would have gone with another brand. This pram is really heavy and is hard on my back. It is quite wide and difficult to take into shops. My 4 month old looks very squashed in the car capsule. On the plus side I can steer it… Read more
quite easily and while our daughter was newborn it was very handy having the car capsule fit straight into the pram base so not to wake sleeping baby.
Feel Ripped off! – I had city mini GT and upgraded due to having another baby this year was advised by baby shop the Strider was the best. This pram is the worst pram on the market! Very heavy, doesn't fit my 17 month old! Was okay whilst attached the captual however my 7 month old is too big for the bottom attachment mind you he is not above average in weight or… Read more
size! Wheels squeak, break is so hard to turn off and put on once baby's are in there I can go on and on! Defiantly recommend against buying this product. I think I will go back to the city range of prams. Having my third child so this makes me extremely disapointed!
Very short lifespan! – I bought a strider plus 4 wheel and instead of buying the second seat I opted to buy a second hand pram with seat as it was the same price as just a new toddler seat, and was then able to leave the extra pram with the inlaws. Perfect situation until within two weeks both prams will not pop together again when unfolded!! I live on a rural property… Read more
so they have a hard life but seriously? So disappointed with this product worst value for money ever. I am now left 12 hrs drive from a main city and NO pram for my 5 month old or 2 yr old.

Love it but wish I got the compact – I love my strider, and almost got the compact but was talked into the plus by the shop assistant. It may only be a few cm narrower but it's the differance between getting through lots of spaces! I use it daily though and even though I bought it with using it for my next child in mind, I think I'll have to upgrade (hopefully to a compact). … Read more
Other than the width, the only real issues for me are the brakes randomly coming on and the wheels squeaking and one makes a weird clunk, like something's loose inside.
Oh and I've just found that the seat doesn't fully recline when forward facing which is really disappointing.
Overall, I love my strider and recommend them to everyone (except I tell them to get a compact!)) Well priced, good extras included, sturdy Too wide, wheels squeek.

Bad product – Strapes are short. Won't go over his shoulders. So not very safe. My child out grew the Strapes by the age of 2. He is very skinny small child. Company has no extension and don't care. So had to my new pram for my children. Not suitable for children over 2 years old. Nothing Shoulder strapes to short.
Great pram but just too big – This is a good pram, sturdy, comfy for baby and good for a second seat option. But oh my gosh is it heavy. And wide! The day I couldn't fit it through the target check out I knew it had to go. I ended up with an I candy peach but only because my mum was kind enough to fork out the $1000 Strong, comfortable for baby, well priced, option of second seat Heavy, wide, not suitable for newborn, takes up a lot of space in the boot
Great at the start, then – We purchased this for our first born and it was easy to push easy to put in & out of the car. Then our second child came along so we brought the second seat, since then the wheels squeak all the time no matter how much we oil then they sqeak! All four of them! The brake is constantly braking. It's hard to push my now 3 year old & 13 month old in… Read more

I love it but the wheels is wobbly and the canopy comes off – I agree with Taya, it's a great pram- I bough mine about a year and a half ago, and very soon after one of the wheels became wobbly, one of the red wheel locks fell off the front and is forever gone and the second seat canopy doesn't stay clicked in on one side and keeps falling off! It's such a handy pram, having two kids close together I can… Read more

I love this pram! – I was in love with this pram it's features are great! The only problem is that these "great features" are poorly made and I have had so many things break or become weak throught it's use and the break seems to click all the time, I pull the break fully up and within a meter it has slipped down again. It's very frustrating. The canopy also falls… Read more

Third wheels a pain – I live on a rural property, so I push the pram constantly on dirt roads and paths. I was highly recommended this pram because of its wheel, they are not rubber, so they can't puncture, which I must say, is a very good thing, as I had the pram for five months and I would have no doubt had a puncture by now if they were rubber. The thing I don't… Read more
like about the single wheel at the front, is that if you hit a whole or a rock, the wheel gets stuck and if your not quick enough, the pram will try to tip on you. I have nearly tipped the pram several times now which is a real worry, I now wish I bought the four wheeler instead.
Besides that I do like the height of the pram, the fact that you can have your baby facing you also the maneuverability of the pram, I have taken it to the shops a few times, and it is a real pleasure to push around, you just have to be careful to allow for the width of the wheels, otherwise you run into everything if your not aware of it.
I would buy the pram again, particularly if I lived in the city but it would definitely be the four wheeler instead. Height, forward facing and maneuverability Third wheel is unstable and quite dangerous
Amazing – The strider plus was the third pram I had purchased and I'm wishing it were the first! It's so smooth to push, nice large storage space underneath, adaptable for a second child down the track and really comfortable for our baby we absolutely love this pram the only thing we can fault is that it is a little wide Easy to push, fold, use :) just a great pram A little bit wide sometime struggle fitting through the check outs
Steelcraft Strider Plus 4 Wheel Pram – I chose this pram based on the flexibility and the basket size - huge. The pram has optional extras - bassinet, second seat and capsule/travel system. We also purchased the capsule, there are additional bases available as an extra, which I think is a fabulous idea. Overall the pram is solid and sturdy, easy to fold and pop back up again. noticed that there is now a compact version, which I would now choose over the Strider Plus. Convenient, great basket space, easy to manouvere and collapse, flexibility with optional extras. A bit wide at the wheel base - use disabled access checkouts etc. A bit on the heavy side, takes up a fair bit of room when in the back of the car.
Strider Plus – The Strider Plus has a great storage area under the seat when the second seat is not attached. The frame folds down very flat and when you put the frame and seat separately in the boot of the car they can compress quite well. The second seat is easy to attach and detach but my 3 year old has struggled to get in and out of it. Would rate it 5/5 if… Read more
it had pneumatic tyres because it is fairly bumpy when on uneven surfaces. Compactness when folded, storage space Stiff suspension, hard wheels
Great for having two young kids – I bought one with my first Best pram id ever bought was a bit big but I couldn't have lived without it! Now I'm on to my second child and I can still use it great that it comes compatible to capsules which makes life that little bit easier Best pram Very reliable It's very big
Had a few things go wrong with mine:( – I wasn't 100% happy with mine but could have just Been a bad batch my material frayed around the sunshades. My wheel is very creeky aswell. Very disappointed! – I saved for this pram as we wanted a complete system having a new born and a 13 month old, I wanted a pram where the Dd on toddler seat could fully recline, we also got the add on capsule, there's hardly any room for my toddler down the bottom without hitting his head n the capsule the capsule was hard to lock in, the whole the even when taking… Read more
everything apart is extremely heavy n bulky , the wheels r s wide It will not fit the the checkouts at iga, woolworths, kmart or big w! It's very hard to steel and put away the bits on the arms u pull up to put away r stiff and it takes me about 10 mins of wriggling them to get it to close.. Not good with two crying baby's in the car. I'm so disappointed I want a new pram but a stuck with this and I hate it! Not t mention the price is far over rated!
Terrible quality – This pram has been nothing but trouble since we got it. Although it may look sturdy the frame is terrible quality. The baby bounces around due to the poor suspension and it feels horrible to steer due to the wheels. They need to look into the quality of the frame and the wheels and stop charging people $500 for a piece of junk. I would warn anyone purchasing this pram. The look
