Absolutely dreadful service. Our builder ordered a timber window with a security screen middle of 2025. Window arrived but the security screen was too small and could not be fitted. After many phone calls and emails a technician inspected the screens on 12 February 2026 and immediately agreed they were wrong. unable to complete the work. They didn’t show another time they had scheduled, meaning I lost a day waiting around. They finally turned up and got most of the jobs done, but reluctantly on some of the defects. A whole lot of back and forth with head office getting permission to fix problems.
At three months in there was still an outstanding functional (and security) issue that I was advised (verbally and texted) would be rescheduled but I was told when I chase them up they sent the report to the sales guy and closed the case. I couldn't get through to anyone in sales directly when I call, when I do finally get through via a transfer from head office they say they’re understaffed and can’t take any responsibility.
I opted for mediation through this website. The service team took it as an escalation and assured me it was being handled with extreme priority. After a few weeks they finally worked out they sent me the wrong security screens and they would remake them for me. After another month they called me to say they couldn't install as scheduled as they'd LOST the newly manufactured screens (??). Another two months later and I was still having to chase them, they finally sent a team out to install the "correct" screens only to discover they'd manufactured the same - incorrect - screens again. The escalation manager did not respond to my follow up calls. Six months on and I'm still at square one.
The communication is woeful. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. The teams blame each other and no one takes responsibility. The basic customer service is atrocious. It’s a clown show. Quite possibly the worst business I have ever dealt with.
Use anyone else but Stegbar for your windows.

In November 2024 we ordered a three pane stacker door for the rear of our property. It’s the main exit/entry as our garage is at the rear. Installer arrived the next day and had to leave. When we finally heard from Stegbar (after much chasing) in late February, next window for delivery was mid-March. New door delivered with wrong handles again and the stopper was in the wrong place. Also, several other finishing parts (strips, facials) were missing. While this door had to be fitted, as the installers were booked, it took several emails and phone calls and two separate warranty service visits over the next two months before the correct handle and stopper were installed. However, door panel was scratched in the process. Total lack of customer service and inconvenience for six months, plus 4 days off work to be present. Now Stegbar have the cheek to chase outstanding 10% “or there is no warranty”. Do yourself a favour, don’t bother!

Very Ordinary – The doors were ordered and paid for (Brielle was great). The doors, 2 sets, were delivered and it was when they were being installed we found the doors couldn't be attached to the frames as the holes were incorrectly drilled in the doors. The guys who fixed the fault, which required a rebuild of the doors were great. So in summary good sales , poor manufacturing, unhelpful after sales support, good onsite repair team. Stegbar would do well to learn from this if they want repeat sales.
With customer service like this and a 50% failure rate, how is this company still in business – I have purchased 3 top of the line windows from Stegbar in the last 3 years, 2 Wooden and 1 Aluminium. These Windows all have thick Gas filled double glazed glass for maximum thermal and noise rating. products faulty!! I have submitted a claim for the Aluminium window with 3 failed units and the communication has since been horrendous. Sporadic emails telling me that their is an 8 week delay, month after month. Finally they committed to come to site yesterday to resolve, having ordered replacement glass. I have tried to contact them multiple time in the mean time to ensure they had everything they needed, with no response. Finally yesterday came around and as my git told me, Stegbar did not turn up. No email, no call, no communication. I called the number at the bottom of the emails and left a message with no response. This has been going on for months, enough time for a fourth unit in another window to fail. With customer service like this and a 50% failure rate, how is this company still in business.

Customer Service how it should be – Just had my best customer service experience for years from Tim at Stegbar Chatswood. Very unexpected. Apart from being very knowledgeable about the Stegbar products Tim was very friendly and did not make me feel technically inept as many hardware/ building related shop assistants do.

Appalling customer service – Extremely poor communication between the customer, sales team and installation team. I had to constantly chase them up and promised return calls rarely happened. Absolutely appalling service – Most appalling service from start to finish. From the time we accepted the quote and this company requested their up front payment of 85%, things went downhill.
