was perfectly fine. But the company is incompetent. This is not just my assessment. My chippies would agree. They were as disappointed as I was at the poor service.
I chose Stegbar not because they were the cheapest but because they were the fastest. Their promised lead time was 8-10 working days vs 6 weeks or so of competitors.
In reality I didn't get my windows on the promised day. They missed the first two delivery dates. The first I was given 24 hours notice that the windows wouldn't be delivered. The second I got no notice. I had to phone them on the day to be told they wouldn't be delivered. The third delivery date required me drive out to Airport West and sit in their office until a delivery date could be arranged.
When the windows did arrive, 2 of the 9 had sills with the wrong measurement, by Stegbar's own admission. Yet more time passed. More phone calls. More emails. Meanwhile I have two unusable windows sitting on site, getting in the way of everyone.
The 2 windows with correct sill measurements finally arrived some weeks later, but several of 9 sash windows didn't have springs. I was notified of this before the first delivery. I was ok with it. It was agreed they would come and install them on site. After some weeks after the second delivery, however I hadn't heard from them about the springs. More phone calls. And another trip to Airport West. Finally a day was arranged and they came and installed the springs.
The contrast with our other major window supplier Rylock is like chalk and cheese. Rylock were a dream to deal with. No friction. Little to no phone calls required. No hassle. They simply delivered what they promised.
Stegbar is the opposite. Over promise, under deliver. Leaving the customer having to waste valuable time chasing. Do not give this company your business. They simply don't deserve it.

Exceeded my expectations! – Had a built in wardrobe installed and I have to say that it has been a very positive experience, starting from Dave that came and measured and advised us what would look best, then to the actual instalment by Chris, we are very happy with the result, and with the professionalism shown by Stegbar and their staff. That was over three weeks ago and nothing. I paid top $$ for the windows and now its going to cost me another 1500 to get the wall fixed and painted.
Terrible Customer Service – went to Stegbar in Airport West to try an obtain an approximate quote on both the bifold and stackable doors only to be served by the most dreadful customer service I have ever experienced. the windows, and gave them to a friend to install in his garage, so they were gone by the time the Installers arrived at 8am in the morning. The Installers proceeded to install. As a carpenter on a local workplace, I came home at 11am to discover none of the custom elements of the door had been done, rather standard sizes had been applied. The salesman turned up at 11.30 to not so happy clients. Whilst talking to the tradesmen installing the units, the Salesman stole the original contract and hightailed it to avoid issues. At the end of the day, the installation was so bad, it was just so sad, we had to accept their installation, under mass protest, or we would have to hoard the area where the windows were to go for another 2 months, whilst they manufactured the true contractual obligation. To this day, i am disgusted, this was 4 years ago. Doors oversized for the unit, wind moulds that are totally ineffective, door furniture that doesn't work.
For many weeks, Stegbar followed us up to fulfil our financial obligations to their quote, to this day, we have not paid, and are unhappy to say the least.
Last week, I had a client whom has specified Stegbar sliding doors to the rear of their new extension. i flatly refused to install Stegbar Custom on any of my jobs, and will continue to do so and spread the work that this company is crap, as is their product.
