Shame Shame shame on you Streets and your shrinkflation Splice icecreams, Price is ridiculous for half what we used to get.. Won't be buying again Show details
Splice shrinkage - corporate greed & deceiving consumers – What is with the ridiculously shrunken Splice ice block at May 2024? I loved this ice block & often joked that it's my addiction. Well, Streets, you've just cured my addiction. I'll not be willingly fleeced by pure corporate greed. I'll not be purchasing my 2 boxes a week ever again. Mongrels. Show details
Customer Rip Off – I cannot understand Streets shrinking the size of the Pine/Lime Splice’s, even the stick has shrunk, I can hardly grip it to eat the Ice cream. Do you think the public are stupid and won’t notice the difference, if you have loyal customers like myself, buying your products, please don’t insult our intelligence by being sneaky ( as they say, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it ). There’s no icecream in pine limesplice any more .Why??? – Only frozen lime ice block in pine lime splice nowadays ! Why ? Where is the ice cream ??? Show details
My favourite ice cream of all time – My favourite ice cream of all time, since I was a kid. Show details
Hobbits probably have larger private parts – I haven't brought these in a long time. Was trundling through Coles today and saw them on special so I brought a box. I just ate one, seriously what in the hell was that? It was tiny, there was minimal ice cream and the flavour on the outside has changed. They have not changed for the better and I won't be buying them again. Show details
Changed but not for the better – The pine lime outer shell is more acidic now, and more lime than pine? The icecream centre is not as creamy or vanilla, and has an unfortunate aftertaste - kind of like that film that you experience when eating cheap chocolate. Pine lime Splice were my lifelong favourite. I just threw most of one in the bin :( Show details
More sneaky shrinking by corporate shysters – There really needs to be more public naming and shaming of corporate shysters like Streets, who sneakily reduce the size of their products while either leaving the price the same or changing the number of items in a box to try and confuse you. Arnotts have done the same with their biscuits, shrinking them while changing the packaging so that the… Read more
packets appear the same size, but contain fewer biscuits. Cadbury rolled out smaller blocks of chocolate with nationwide discounts, then bumped the price up, thinking we'd be fooled. And so it goes. I've responded by not buying any of these products again, and I urge others to respond to corporate skullduggery with the same response. Brands who treat us with contempt deserve to fail.
Fresh – Love the taste of it. Outside coating of water pine lime flavour, inner icecream. Will always buy. Saw one reviewer who mentioned it is yummy, will definitely second that. Shame not in Aussie hands. Show details
Disappointing – When you buy the box expecting to get the same great ice cream you enjoyed as a kid only to find now they are half the size with the ratio of ice cream to pine lime Icy pole reversed. I’m not sure why you would change something that was perfectly fine and make it worse.. Very disappointing. Show details
Love them! – These are my favourite ice creams.Love the pine lime combo and the creamy filling. Not too much fat or sugar for an ice cream.(need to add superfluous words because I have to reach 30 words to submit my review) Show details
Yummy! – I love the tangy fresh pine-lime icy /ice-cream combo. The other flavours are great too, when the shops stock them. Streets have been making them since the 50's, so many other people love them too! Show details
Great tasting icecream – Unable to find any at local supermarkets. Woolworths near me have said they are unable to place orders for this product. Dont know why it would be out of stock and unable to order. Must be a problem with supply chain or at Streets itself. I liked them when they were a bigger size. They should sell both sizes. Magnificent – Just delish. Refreshing, sweet, tangy and quenching. This treat has it all. Thirty words is far too many to describe it because of it's simplicity. Anyone who thinks otherwise has no taste.
Who thought shrinking the product was a good idea? – I purchased a box of pine/lime splice today and noticed the box was different. When we got home I opened the box and felt ripped off. Yet another company shrinking the product, changing the recipe and then wondering why their market share has dropped and eventually discontinue the product because it’s not performing. Even the sticks they come on… Read more
are smaller. If you have a product that’s been around for ever and it’s not performing, changing the recipe that’s contributed to its longevity in the market place to use cheaper ingredients and then reducing product size is a sure way to fail as many before you have.
it is smaller and it falls off the stick – My mum who is 93 years old has had these for a long long time: she came in with the new box of 'same great taste just a new box' stating that they weren't the same thing. I looked closer and they looked smaller and fell off the stick. When I wrote to Streets, they wanted to know the barcode, the date of purchase and where I bought it. .. Show details
Can't find 8 pack ?? – Or woolworths Ultimo Road has stopped stocking it - it's the best and I need to know when they restock ! Show details
The BEST icecream on the market – Splice icecreams are a game changer... they are the GOAT. If anyone doesn’t agree then we can’t be friends Show details
SMALLER & DOESN’T TASTE AS GOOD AS BEFORE – I remember as a kid that Pine Lime Splice had a small coating of pine lime icy pole attached around the centre of the stick which was in turn covered with a luscious, creamy ice cream which was then covered with pine lime icy pole. In essence, the Splice had 3 layers. The inner most layer (being the icy pole around the stick) however, was… Read more
discontinued many years ago. Whilst disappointed at this cost cutting change, I still enjoyed the Splice. Not having had a Splice for a few years in more recent times, on 27 December 2019 I purchased a box of 8 ice creams from my local supermarket as it was on special. When I removed the ice cream from its wrapper, I was gobsmacked to see how small it was. For a fleeting moment, I actually thought it had broken and a good portion of the ice cream was still inside the wrapper. It looked like 1/3 was missing from its original size. The icy pole was mushy and the ice cream lacked that luscious creaminess that I remember. There is nothing wrong with our freezer because everything else in there including other brands of ice cream were rock hard. I won’t waste my money buying a Splice again. Another lost customer... your ‘bad’ Streets.
As Good As Ever – Low fat ice cream nowadays, but just as creamy and tasty as ever, and still made in Sydney. Made from 24% lime/pineapple fruit juice. Aldi sell an 8 pack for $4.99, whereas it's $7.00 at Coles & Woolies. 2 thumbs up! Show details
Tastes disgusting – Extremely disappointed and very confused as to why Splice now tastes like rosemary or some sort of herb?! So gross that I couldn't even have more than 2 licks. Won't be purchasing again unless I hear the recipe is back to original. Show details
Shrinking in size and quality – Wow what a disappointment! The first thing I noticed was the size, two thirds what it used to be. I’m fed up with our favourite food items shrinking in size, yet we pay just as much, or more. Also, I agree with many of the reviews above in regards to flavour. Definitely different and another example of cost cutting. Arnotts gave it a go with their… Read more
‘shapes’ biscuits and look what happened there. Sales dropped significantly and they had to resort back to the old recipe. Let’s see what happens here but for now I’m done buying this product.

The best of both worlds – I love these ice creams! You get the icy pole-like exterior and then you get the yummy vanilla ice cream in the middle. The perfect treat!
Bitter taste – I recently bought a box of pine lime Splice. It used to have a predominately pineapple juice taste but now it has changed to a bitter taste.I noticed the lack of ice cream compared to the Splice of the 1970’s.I would not bother buying this particular ice cream again.Three other household members ate them and also complained taste had changed.
Absolute Dirt – Streets Splice is the absolute lowest form of ice cream. It is a perfect example of the work of the devil. Everyone hates Splice. Why do they even make it anymore?
Change for the worse – Adored it for years --for tangy tartness even more than for icecream centre ---combination UNIQUE! Now bland & characterless, alas. Please return it to original recipe so I would continue to buy it & share box with friends.
Not The Same as in The Good Old Days! – I recently bought streets splice only to be very disappointed. The top third of the splice is now solid ice. Another cost cutting measure that has spoilt the reputation of a brand name once synonymous with quality. I'll be buying the cheaper brands in the future because they have a greater proportion of ice cream.
Changed for the worse – The one pictured is not like what you get these days. Top third of the ice cream is now solid ice, the ice is more acidic, the cream is less creamy. The ice and cream used to be a perfect pair, but now you barely notice the creamy part... when you get to it that is.. It's still alright I guess, but I won't be buying them again in the future.
Doesn't taste the same! – Had a spice recently and the taste is differen to what it used to be, doesn't have the same tang that it used to have. ice cream in centre also isn't as creamy. Disappointing
Refreshing – Wow this iceblock/icecream is as good as ever. Very nice natural pine lime iceblock on the outside and inside a sliver of white icecream. This is delicious and could not be improved upon. I would eat the iceblock part by itself if they made it as an iceblock alone. So refreshing. Tasted like true pineapple and lime flavours. Nothing.
Excellent – This ice block has the best of both worlds as it is icy on the outside and creamy in the middle. I find this combination is very refreshing and they outside is lovely and tangy. This is a reasonably priced ice treat. The perfect beach ice block as it is great on hot days as it is icy on the outside but you don't miss out on a creamy ice cream… Read more
treat either. This is one of my mums favourites and I can see why. A lovely treat to have in summer. I love to take off all the outer tangy layer which is quenching and then enjoy the super soft vanilla centre. Just delicious. Can't think of any cons.
Good – In all, this is a good product. It is great as a summer treat, or when you cannot decide if you want an icy pole or an ice cream cone. This is a nice ice cream. The ice shell is not overly sweet, meaning that you can really taste the pineapple and lime. The vanilla ice cream centre is also not overly sweet, it is very creamy and has a nice vanilla… Read more · 1
flavour to it. The ice shell is a little watery and tends to have some ice on it (which is not part of the ice shell but rather some water than has frozen on the outside of the shell).
