Thrilled with my experience to date! – We couldn't be happier with how our Stroud Homes Geelong build is progressing. From the get go Shane & Alex have been incredibly accommodating, as well as always being quick to respond & provide an update. We particularly appreciate all the time they put into helping us find the right design for our block & our family. Having built before, I can say that this is the smoothest process I've ever experienced & the quality of our home (to date) is stunning. We're so excited to see the end result of our home & could not thank Shane & Alex enough!

Absolute garbage from the signing of contracts – Once you sign contracts they no longer care. Signed October 2018, slab was poured March 2019,frame and roof went up, all great. Now the fun began, 2 different batches of brick went up, so half had to be pulled down and right batches sought. Turns out the sand used for the mortar was poor and there is already cracking with blow out from the cleaning. Windows are not centered. Plastering done, but was poorly done and if we did not point out the problems they would still be there, sadly some are. Painting is half done, and left, gloss finish has runs in it. Kitchen was installed and stone bennchtops fitted some had to be replaced as grains did not match. The main bench top is in 2 pieces with poor join and at 2 different levels. To make the house to lockup nailed bits of wood to the front door which is meant to be stained unless replaced can no longer be possible. Floor tiling done looked OK, wall tiles put on same tiles as floor tiles sadly they don't line up with the floor tiles. The niches are a joke, and they will leak into the wall cavity, the response was the wall was waterproof. Timber floors were laid extremely well, sadly no floor protection was placed on the floor, electricians came in and scratched the floor. Along comes xmas and the builder takes off for a month holiday. We have spoken to head office and all we get is lip service. James Stroud, come and have a look at this mess of a build with your name on it, instead of trying to palm it off. DO NOT BUILD WITH STROUD!!!

Gray Family Homes are no longer part of Stroud Homes, but their involvement with Stroud Homes now or in the past does not change the obligations of Gray Family Homes to complete your home in accordance with your building contract and to take care of any defective items. I tried to call you just now because we want to make sure that the items you’ve listed above are taken care of properly please call us to discuss.

This is the kind of response I expected from Stroud. I signed contracts with stroud letter head on every page! So Stroud dump franchises whenever things go bad and wash your hands of it. FYI I have no missed calls!

Absolute utter disgrace!!!!! – I know that I'm going to be asked to take this factual review down as not to 'tarnish' the Stroud Homes name however I feel compelled to let people know of the substandard work and sheer lack of detail and workmanship that we have endured during 12 months of building with Gray Family Homes T/A Stroud Homes Geelong. Only to find out that Gray Family Homes T/A Stroud Homes Geelong did not tell Stroud Homes that they were building our house and now three months after moving in we have four pages of defects that clearly won't be rectified as apparently Stroud Homes Geelong doesn't exist. ?? We haven't been able to cook on our stovetop since moving in as they didn't put in the flue or bulkheads (see pic). Left our bricks an absolute mess even after being pulled down and being put back up for a second time. All internal doors need to be replaced as they have all bowed and were damaged upon installing. Energy rating has not been met. The list goes on. And on. And on. We are completely exhausted from dealing with all of them with no result to date and apparently they can't stand by their name nor workmanship. This build was our own design which we asked local builder Stroud Homes (Geelong) to build. Biggest regret of our lives.

Hi James, I reached out to you back in July 2019 via LinkedIn wanting to discuss my concerns regarding my house with no response from you.
I was then contacted by [Name Removed] of which I had numerous conversations with over a period of months and he and [Name Removed] also came out to the house and also reiterated it wasn't up to standard. Nothing was ever done. So if I call you to discuss will there actually be any resolutions???
The only thing that was done was you conveniently severed ties with [Name Removed], left us in the lurch, and now we are left having to go down the legal route to get our house fixed. As you stated [Name Removed] is to complete the house under the contract obligations and [Name Removed] also told us, that [Name Removed] is obligated to fix the house......but....where is he???? Do you know? Before Christmas he told us that as he has to fix everything himself (cos he has no money) and he has to find the time. Seems to me he was happy to take everyone's money and disappear. We thought at least if anything went wrong we chose a large reputable company and should be alright. Boy were we wrong.
I've never been a fan of that show A Current Affair yet I can now see why people contact them.
