Amazing for our coffee addiction! :) – We got this machine a couple of years ago and it is still an amazing product! We make every morning our coffee there and friends love to come to our house to get coffee :). My only note would be to be able to buy some of the accessories individually, for example, the coffee tamper broke + scoop spoon broke and I could not find the same one. Show details ·  1

More than expected – I had a manual Krups machine. It was starting to have troubles keeping pressure. Replaced with a nicer, quicker cup of coffee for $179. Really sleek and nice look to the machine. Made from majority plastic parts.. but couldn't expect any more for the price. I am very happy with my purchase.

Not very good – Was not consistent with coffee taste at all. I could never get a good Crema and mostly tasted like bitter coffee ☕. I have a sunbeam conical burr grinder with over 12 settings and you had to use the percolator coarseness to get the coffee tasting good but then had no Crema at all. grind. Frother worked well for the month I used it. Milk container leaked everytime you pulled it out was such a tight fit into the unit and had no seal on the top to prevent this. Ended up giving it to my dad in the end.

Now, I will say I am not a fancy coffee person, I'm happy to drink instant maccona coffee so I can't really tell you or compare it to a stupidly priced cup of coffee. What I can say is that it exceeded my expectations. I find that there is more than enough froth come out and it actually makes a pretty good cup of coffee! I use it on late as I like creamy coffee and it never fails for me. I do miss being able to make large cups of coffee however I just have instant coffee after my 2-morning coffees using this machine.

Downsides? Well, I kinda wish it has a 24-month warranty as there is a little bit of flimsiness from the milk container and this worries me a little bit. Also, it takes a while to get its self ready to froth milk. Show this stop you from buying one? Absolutely not! it's a $200 machine that makes a cup of coffee for you! I actually wish I bought one earlier! I will end up buying a few when they decide to come out with a newer model so I don't have to get used to another machine cause for me this machine is absolutely fantastic!

being restricted by brands/types like you are with pod machines. Not only do you get fresher and better quality coffees, but it's more environmentally friendly with less waste than pods and also allows us to recycle the coffee grounds in our garden. The machine has performed fairly well in the time I've had it. The first issue I experienced about a year after buying the machine was a slow water drip from the coffee cradle water output for about 10 minutes after I made a coffee. This was easily dealt with by leaving an empty cup underneath to catch the water. So although it was annoying it wasn't inconvenient to deal with. Now 3 and half years later in the last month it seems to be on its last legs. Failing to output milk and coffee and when it does it comes out as a dribble requiring the machine to be run several times to make a single cup. I'm now looking for a replacement and would consider buying the same machine again. I purchased this one on sale for $150 and feel like I've gotten value for money from it. The only other thing that has become an issue for us is that the coffee drinkers in our household now drink different kinds of milk. So while the removable milk canister is very convenient if you use the same type of milk for every coffee, it can be tedious to remove and clean milk out to switch it out for a different type each coffee. So seeing as Sunbeam don't seem to sell replacement parts so we could get an additional canister to keep different milk in, I think a standard milk frother using a metal cup like other machines use would be easier in our case.

A great machine for a beginner/entry level into the espresso market.

If I was to buy this machine again I would except I’d purchase one with a built in grinder.

Worked well and then milk frother stopped – Had this machine for 18 months and it was working great until the last couple of months where the milk frother has stopped working. If I have the filter holder connected and just want milk froth (to make hot chocolate etc.) it leaks coffee into the drink. By the looks we aren't the only people with this issue - is this a major fault on Sunbeams behalf? Are we able to get some answers on how to rectify this. We have followed all cleaning steps and take good care of the machine so very disappointed if it lasts less than 2 years.

For the price, having a detachable milk jug and automatic frothing option (even though its not as great as what can be produced with manual frothing on other machines) was pretty good and led to buying the machine for a second time. Have to weigh up though if throwing away $200 every 12 months (or less) is worth it in the long run though.

Ok Espresso, terrible cold milk/froth – Espresso shot is reasonable for a double walled filter, but watery compared to the EM5300. Started good but now not – This machine was great for a month but despite cleaning it after each use the milk just dribbles out at best. Many questions have been asked on the sunbeam page for the same issue and they appear to be ignoring everyone and not providing any advice. Milk no longer frothing – I had to replace my machine after less than a year as there so much steam coming and it was making chugging noises. Now the replacement seems to have stopped frothing milk. Planned obsolescence? – 13 months of trouble-free use and suddenly stopped working. Very little milk making it up the tube and coffee comes out simultaneously. Milk froth no longer works – I’ve owned my coffee machine 1 year & it will no longer froth milk it will not come out of the nozzle almost as if a lever has turned it off. Worked well just didn't last long – I wish I had found these reviews before buying this machine. It worked well for 8 months giving me a great cup of coffee every morning. Unfortunately it seems that this machine is not made to last as I'm now having the same problem as everyone else.
