may espresso machines rule the earth – new to review..retired cafe owner / barista...I killed three home domestic esspresso machines all within about 3 months normal use but got good service response in the end (Breville and Sunbeam). Eventually bought most basic model and its been perfect for 2-3 years - cant fault it - even after running tank dry - doh couple times so only critique - warning light'd be great :-) love ya coffee machine and be a nanna with it...itll love ya back Show reply

Great machine, worked hard every day for 4 years. RIP. Time for a new Sunbeam! – I have had this machine for nearly 4 1/2 years of daily use, and I was sad when it gave up the ghost after i took it in the car with me to a holiday house. Had i not moved it, i am sure it would still be working! This machine has turned me into a 'coffee snob' - highly critical of Cafe's now. The fact that it has a single thermo block is only a… Read more

pain if you have to make more than one coffee at once, so my next machine will definately be twin thermo block.

Perfect coffee – Sunbeam have best coffee machines and make best tasting coffee, have tried Breville and Delonghi, Sunbeam makes beautiful tasting coffee, easy to use and clean and makes perfect thick froth. Have had this machine a few years and still working perfectly. Will be buying new model when this one dies.

Died exactly at the 2 year mark – Stopped working completely 2 years and 2 days from original purchase date. Actually trips the household circuit breaker so glad I was home. After a week absolutely no response from Sunbeam apart from automated response promising reply in "under 3 days". For a mid range, brand machine would have expected a better life expectancy.

After 5 weeks finally received a replacement from Sunbeam after lots of chasing up.

LIDDLEBEWDY !! – weve had ours so long I cant even remember when we got it but I love it. youre not paying thousands so dont be unrealistic in your expectations of its features and youll be pleasantly surprised. Im quite sure my pressure gauge has never been accurate and getting the froth to the consistancy that i can do a decent pattern is a lot more miss than… Read more

hit but I really dont mind cos it makes a sensational cappucino. , no kidding , we even get neighbours phoning us up asking if they can come round for a coffee cos they like it so much . try lots of different brands of bean and have fun experimenting with the milk frothing and im sure in time youll be getting jacked off with your neghbours asking for a coffee too !! ( I dont mind really cos my neighbours are lovely people ha ha ). On a side note the cuphead seal needs replacing as of yesterday but thats only $15 ( not a bad run as it gets used constantly ) --- would not hesitate to buy another when this one finally keels over

Steam is now not enough to produce adequate froth – Been reasonably happy with this machine, had it around 2 years but now seems to not have enough steam pressure to consistently produce any froth. On average we have used it once to twice a day, so is it time to buy another? When it was working well it produced great coffee :-)

Sunbeam vita EM6200 – I've had this machine for over 12 months and so far very happy. Recently had to replace the group head seal; unfortunately, I couldn't remember which way the seal went in, nothing the users manual, apart from the seal may need replacing once in a while. Perhaps the users manual Should include an exploded view of parts that can be replaced by the user, to help the 'observantly challenged'. Everything. Nothing.

Revised upwards – I've left my original review below, but after taking a replacement machine I have to say I'm very happy with this product. It makes great coffee and in fact I prefer the coffee I make on the Espresso Vita to about half of what I buy in cafés. I use freshly ground beans and the flavour is excellent. Brand new out of the box and the thing can… Read more

only make hot water. Nothing comes through the group head, hot water runs directly into the drip tray. The pressure gauge stays at zero. Customer service is only available during business hours and emails take 2 business days for reply. What use is a customer care line that only operates when customers are at work? I can't do much trouble shooting from my office. I couldn't be more dissatisfied with this piece of junk and the so called customer service. Delicious coffee, great crema Initial machine was malfunctioning. Non-existent customer service.

Not worth the time or money – I have had one for just over a year, my last sunbeam was great, very forgiving in its pour... This one is downright horrible.. I have had about a dozen "good" coffees, the main problem is the pour, running water with no grind shows a higher pressure than with grind! And if you don't get it perfectly accurate, it completely blocks!! I have… Read more

contacted sunbeam, but had no response... Three weeks and waiting... My advice, don't even consider it! It would be great if it worked!!

Espresso and Frothing – Hi, I'm looking into buying one of these machines 'Sunbeam EM6200' I was just wondering if you could make the coffee and froth the milk at the same time, or separately. I would really like an answer, as i am super interested in buying the product, and want to know if it will suit my purposes

Great Coffe - Short Life – I purchased my Espresso Vita in November last year, after my second Cafe Series cheapy died. I am an addict, and value for money these machines make a great espresso, and that is what I drink, two double shots every morning before I leave the house. My Wife also has a Double shot cappacinos every morning. We use a Breville BMF600 Milk Frother, so… Read more

we don't worry about the limited frothing capacity, it just makes double shots and it makes them well....

Well it did until we got back from Holidays, it got us through yesterday morning, and I got my first this morning but the pressure was not there, and the coffe was a little light on. I have tried descaling it, but during the descaling process, the pump has given up the ghost, and it is now in the ute to go to the dump.

I work it hard, but I expected more than a year out of it, it is out of warranty and it will not be worth sending it to the hopeless warranty repairer in Mackay, as he had our Fully Automatic $2000 DeLonghi for a year and when it came back it still didn't work.

Over all, this is a great machine, that makes great coffee, but obviously couldn't hack the pace. Off to see Marcus at Betta Home Living for a new machine now, Will it be a Sunbeam???? At this point I don't think so. Great Coffee, Adjustable Programmes, coffee at a great temperature, Probably good for lower duty. Life expectancy too low, Milk Frothing a bit weak, Can't keep up with my addiction!!!

Manufacturing quality may be questionable – I purchased the Sunbeam Espresso Vita EM6200 6 months ago. The first one had an "out of the box" fault. Condensation in the gauge. Sunbeam replaced with a new one. Worked perfectly for 5 months and then developed a terminal fault where the pressure went consistently into the 'red zone' and the pump sounded like it was going to explode. To their… Read more

credit, Sunbeam have replaced it again with a brand new one...BUT the warranty is only good for a balance of the 12 months. If this one goes wrong in the next 6 months I am covered but after that...well I guess we'll have to see. Hopefully Sunbeam understand the "Lemon Laws". Real shame because it makes a killer cup of coffee! Easy to use and makes a great cup of coffee. Right temperature and good extraction. Concerned about quality of manufacture and early obsolescence

Espresso Gauge is not working? – I just bought my Espresso Vita. I follow all the steps that appear on the Instruction Booklet, but I am not able to get the Espresso Gauge to the section "Optimum Pour". I am totally dissapointed with the information provided and not able to enjoy a nice Espresso. If there any way to know if the product I just bought is faulty. Espresso Gauge not working.

Great machine – I've owned 2 Sunbeam machines over the past decade and this is the most 'upmarket' one yet. It's easy to use, looks great and pulls great shots. I highly recommend you buy a burr grinder to go with it, my old Delongi broke (I dropped it) so I decided to get a Sunbeam grinder as well. The great thing about this machine is the dial on the front, you… Read more

actually get to monitor your shots both by looking at the actual shot and the dial. This machine actually helps you develop a technique and it's quite rewarding to see the results which to me means the dial actually works well. My advice is to use a medium grind though because it stuggles with finer grinds - but that also depends on the coffee you're using.

I think it's great and I recommend it. Easy to use, looks great, rewards good technique with GREAT coffee The drip tray could be deeper and can be fussy with finer grinds.

Awesome espresso machine! – Purchased this machine 6 weeks ago. Love it love it love it! Made not great coffee as i was using preground supermarket beans. Purchased a burr grinder and some freshly roasted beans from local roaster and pulling awesome shots now!! The espresso gauge really taught me how to pull a good shot. All about practice and technique. Definitely watch… Read more

some YouTube vids on barista techniques, great help. Machine came with free barista course, going to book myself in next week and perfect my technique. Great value for money! Espresso gauge, semi auto and looks sexyyy Drip tray could be bigger, tamp supplied not great, but gonna get that with all cheaper machines.
