Beautiful hot coffee everytime but sadly the grinder failed after a short time and my local seller just referred me to phone Sunbeam .I used the machine without the grinder for a good while but now that has died . I'm really disappointed because it… Read more

was , for me , a big $$$ purchase. We live in a regional town and there are no repairers locally . The closest is 2+ hours away and charge $100 per hour . It's just all too hard so I replaced it with a little cheap machine which I don't love but it makes an acceptable espresso.

Follow-up  · The grinder was cumbersome to use and difficult to adjust before it filed and got blocked up easily . The machine made brilliant coffee easily . A sturdy machine. Sunbeam support not available in regional areas Phone support only which was but particularly helpful. I'm not a technician so no amount of instruction is going to help when the… Read more

I have purchased two of these machines and neither have lasted much longer than 2 years. With the first one, I rang Sunbeam, hoping it was still under warranty but they were very dismissive. With the second one, the automatic shut off stopped working just after the warranty ran out. I only make one coffee a day so it's a lot of money for a year. Show details

Well and truly paid for itself – This machine has well and truly paid for itself. I love this machine. My mum bought one, my sister bought one, my friend bought one - all after they had coffee at my house. I use Coles strong ground coffee and it's perfect. Had this for 18 months now and had no issues at all. Best gadget I own by far and most used. Show details ·  1

Don’t buy! Warning – I am having the same issue as many others here. I have had my Mini Barista for just about 3 years. Once the power is turned on at the wall the machine's pump runs non stop with water feeding into (and overflowing) the drip tray. It does not respond to the on/off button on the machine. This is my second mini barista and the second time I have… Read more

encountered this problem. My first lasted about 3 years also. I figured I was unlucky, and given I liked the machine, I bought another. Sadly it was a foolish decision. I have now learnt how common this fault is. It is well documented here in other reviews and many similar reports elsewhere online. Suffice to say I won’t be buying another, nor any other sunbeam product given their awareness of the issue but ongoing sale of a defective unit.

Water continually pumps as soon as it's switched on at the wall socket – Hi. I’ve had my Sunbeam Mini Barista for about 2½ years, so well out of warranty. Water continually pumps as soon as it's switched on at the wall socket. Mine was a blown triac, a BT137 600e. You can buy them easily from eBay, or in Aus from Jaycar. You have to dismantle the machine to get at the PCB – there’s an excellent ‘how to’ on YouTube:… Read more ·  1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JET1Wcof1E This guy had a different issue (cockroaches causing a short) but the tear-down part is great. You also need a Y #2 screwdriver for two screws – you can get them on eBay. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/386922503932?_skw=tri+wing+screwdriver&itmmeta=01JAXSK92AB15NYEYRJNPV3W5Z&hash=item5a1660defc:g:AHcAAOSw8lhmF~IM&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKlY3Kw0tb0dkZeCk%2F86XdHPLcZtcG2bHPazxuWNTQFoKmhXqFQLKKvYXsDSISPVelYuBO5m7aW1%2BGD8VAao8q0yYxMx05rspWvUvVjdba%2F5lzciuOpPJJV8klXBUek2sKLZ50Lg2snJ0Wzv7WEdlG6wMpYnYIn7B%2BYvfpQNnsU6SyegcmdQMMK872SLYvOWxJZlBsZEC079Fa2vuVHDe%2Fd3zfCvGaMlJTNdMG6CPxq%2BJ%2BTqb4E6UkxVreuyMUuSl2diX2q3G%2BmjVH7DNd5otglFFBCAYvZW9ml8%2FT00OwMkVw%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMopHNuddk It has to be a screwdriver, a Y bit won’t fit down the hole. All the rest are Phillips head. Then you can remove the PCB, de-solder the triac and solder in the new one. Mine's now working perfectly. All in all, this is a great machine, and well worth the money.

Mini Barista from Sunbeam – Awesome machine that reheats quickly so you can make two cups of coffee straight after each other. The frother has enough pressure to produce great milk. I love my mini barista. Show details ·  1

Great little coffee machine no dramas – Had it over a year now, still works great (making on average 3 cups per day).. I'm no barista but I'm not sure what ppl are expecting here.. it's one of the cheapest machines around and still makes a good brew. Look after it.. clean after use/turn it off when not using etc and it'll serve you well in terms of convenience and saving money. Some… Read more ·  1

extra tips: for a boost in flavour (and to minimise calcification) use filtered water ALSO be sure to grind the beans nice and fine and pack tight it runs better thru the group head

Good little machine – Have had my new machine for a week now after my 4300s model stopped working after 5 years of producing awesome coffees every time. I love the look of the new one and the extraction is great but I cannot get the milk to the same perfection. The steam seems to be much fiercer and the milk does not froth the same, so I end up with a watery coffee which is too hot Show details

Good value – I begin with my genuine sympathy to those who have had a bad experience with this machine. I would be annoyed if I had bought one and had water flooding the bench after a few months. It would be good to know what proportion of machines sold have this flooding issue, and more importantly, what is the cause. I can only write about my experience.… Read more ·  2

Maybe I will have jinxed ours by writing this review but here are my thoughts. Ours has now just clocked up two years. For most of this period, we have made 4 mugs of double shot a day - let’s say 600 days x 4 = 2400 mugs @ $5/mug at current café price = $12000. That’s now ~10c/mug contribution from the cost of the machine. While it is true that we probably wouldn’t have gone to café’s and spent that amount, we have now had two years of great twice-daily coffee. Even if the machine does fail soon, I feel that our $223 investment has been thoroughly worth it, and we will immediately get another. The coffee it produces is excellent (fresh ground beans etc) and equal in quality to that from much more expensive machines that we have tried. After 6 months I discontinued using the milk frother and just microwaved a third of a mug of milk before brewing – the frother worked fine, just easier to microwave two mugs and less cleaning. I have cleaned this machine internally once after about a year with descaling liquid. We only use rainwater, except when we had to use bore water for a few months. It is always plugged into the wall socket (switch on). The machine is easy to use (the group handle is initially tight to attach).

Avoid – Avoid this machine. I’m also a victim to the issue that SO MANY others have reported, clearly a design flaw: water continues to run and drains into drip tray, even when machine is switched off. Really disappointing because it made decent coffee, but machine lasted just over 12 months, and issue seems like it can’t be fixed Show details

My machine has died with 12 months of use.The pump turns on by itself when switched off – I loved the coffee it was great. Always consistent. The quality was better than my local coffee shop. The temp was hot enough. This was a replacement for my last one which only lasted not even 1 year! Show details

Compact, professional features like a thousand dollar machine, and makes perfect espresso – Very impressed. Best machine I’ve ever owned and easily the best espresso machine in its price range. Easy to use. Well-designed and built. Consistently makes a perfect espresso, at optimal temperature - just like a high end machine. Really like the feature that flushes hot water and keeps the milk wand clean and un-clogged. The manual is easy… Read more

to follow, full of information and includes techniques explaining how to make coffee and froth milk like a professional barista. A pleasure to use too - I love making coffee with the Mini Barista even when I’m half-asleep - because it tastes so good. Gives me something to look forward to when I have to get up early in Winter and it’s cold and dark outside.

Great coffee at an amazing price – We replaced our em7000 that lasted about 5 years with this little em4300k and couldn't be happier. I don't think it takes any longer to make a delicious coffee with this single boiler unit than it did with our old dual em7000. We are using the filter basket that came with the em7000 & the results are much improved (creamer) than when using the… Read more

basket supplied with the em4300k. The steam wand pressure is great & it's a very quiet little machine, imho this is all you need to make quality coffee at home.

Failed at 19 months – Bought from Appliances Online September 2020, $200. Just failed with the known issue of pump running when plugged in, whether main switch is on or off. Also been dripping around the group head. It's a pity because the coffee was very good and milk steamer worked well. Juast unacceptable that it has such a short life. Show details

Faulty control circuit - Coffee Machine and water pump turns on by itself – I purchased this coffee machine less than 2 years ago. A few days ago, the machine and water pump turned on by itself and water poured all over the countertop. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it from the power outlet. I contacted Sunbeam customer support who initially stated they could not replace the product as it was outside of the… Read more

warranty period. I emphasized that this is a design flaw and a safety issue as this machine and water pump could have been left running for days or weeks if I was out of town, which may be a potential fire hazard. Sunbeam eventually agreed to replace the machine. The representative stated this was an isolated case as there have been no other similar reports despite me directing her to this thread and mentioning it was actively monitored by Sunbeam customer support. Given this, I do not have confidence that Sunbeam will investigate this issue appropriately and will recall affected machines. I encourage everyone affected by a similar problem to file a report with Product Safety Australia (https://www.productsafety.gov.au/).

Great machine until it stopped working – Great machine that makes loverly coffee, better than competing machines from other manufactures. It's no longer working though. First it started leaking, then the on/off button stopped working. No easy fix and very little information on how to service. Sunbeam could do with improving their after sales support. Show details

Safety Hazard – This is my second Sunbeam Mini Barista. The first just stopped pumping. It makes a good coffee. They are obviously not built to last as other reviews detail. pumping. The water tank was empty and it was still pumping.. and it had a burning smell.

When I called customer support (advertised to open at 8.30am but still no answer just before 9, and advises that Email Address is www.sunbeam.com.au -DUH!), I was told this is a known problem.

The solution? Buy another one! Not good enough.

Great machine if they would last more than two years – I have purchased four of these machines over the years and they work great but between one to two years of using them daily every one stopped working. The machine only comes with a one year warranty. So It’s a shame they don’t last longer because they’re a great coffee machine otherwise. I think it time to change companies and see if I have more luck with them.  Show details

A well kept secret that makes a great coffee – This compact coffee maker is a must for the true coffee lover with a small space. The compact size size belies the quality. I have had several free standing manual coffee machines (Breville, Saeco, Sunbeam and Rancilio) and this one is as good but smaller. You can determine the amount of coffee you like, which is great if you like your coffee… Read more

strong (like me) or weak. The new black model is pretty sexy and looks great on your kitchen bench. It is easy to clean and I just rinse the parts in the sink every couple of days. You can pair it with the matching grinder as the group head fits both. The best two things are the size and price - it will fit your kitchen and won't break your budget, so you can spend more on quality beans. This one is also recommended by CHOICE. I've bought three of these machines (upgraded to the black and one for my son) and they have all worked perfectly. Easy to use, easy to clean and makes a consistent hot quality coffee.

Entry level – Bought this to replace a pod machine. Tossing up between this & full sized one, but decided to start here. Machine is compact & reasonably easy to use. As others have said, you need 2 hands to attach group handle as machine is light & will move. 2 shots don’t seem to come out same qty, but we use double shot, so no big deal. Maybe it’s inexperience. Milk frothier comes out hot. Show details

Great little expresso machine - all you need for great coffee – I chose this machine because it has a 58mm group head like a commercial machine. I had long been disappointed with other budget machines with the small group head and suspected this was the reason they don't make a coffee as good as a café does. This machine makes an expresso single or double shot every bit as good as your favourite local café. The body is plastic and time will tell how long this machine lasts.  Show details
