Bowls are irreplaceable and machine does not work without them – Machine works well and would be worth the money, however the large bowl is no longer manufactured and is not available in Australia, (my large bowl was dropped by a ten year old in the first month of purchase) rendering it virtually useless - unless you are happy to make a cake mix in thirds with the small bowl! Sunbeam's response was "… Read more

Unfortunately we have no large bowls that is compatible with the MX003.

Brilliant mixer. Hopeless beaters – I love my mixer. BUT my original beaters lasted 18 years. Since then I have bought 6 replacement sets. They ALL break in the same way. The originals bent but did not break like these. I love how the bowl swivels and you have great access to scrap the bowl while it spins. Got it for a wedding present 1992.  Show details

A Good Choice – We finally found a food mixer with both a large and small bowl (both glass) and a dough hook at a reasonable price. Have always been pleased with Sunbeam appliances and weren't disappointed with this purchase. It is reasonably quiet for a mixer and easy to use. It has 4 functions and 12 speeds and has produced some wonderful sponges and cakes. It also looks very stylish and can be left out on the kitchen bench.  Show details

Not spinning, broken beater – I am suffering the same problem with the bowl not spinning. The mixture is as it should be and I have it set tonthe suggested setting and now the beater is broken at the weld from no fault of my own! It's a nice machine, is there anyway sunbeam will replace it? I hope so.  Show details

Do Not Buy Sunbeam Mixmaster MX003 – Was given this Sunbeam Mix master MX 003 as a gift xmas 2015 and have only used it a few times and the beater has broken at the weld. Seems I am not the only one with this problem. I am very disappointed as it now renders the machine useless  Show details

Disappointing – I thought being a Sunbeam product this would have been pretty good but you have to manually spin the bowl and continuously push the ingredients away from the side otherwise it doesn't work! It's not what I was expecting as stand alone mixer. You may as well use a hand mixer.  Show details

The best mixer on the market – After 38 years of faithful service my previous Mixmaster gave up the ghost. When looking for replacement I realised that all mixers on the market are the same, heavy, awkward, with impossible mixing attachments. To my delight I finally discovered that Sunbeam still provides a genuine Mixmaster which is head and shoulders above all other mixers. I am completely satisfied with all aspects of my new machine.  Show details

Really disappointed – I don't use my mixer very often, but am very disappointed. I purchased it because my mum had one and it was wonderful. But the beaters on mine are so flimsy. Broke at the weld the first time I creamed butter and sugar. And the butter had been out on the bench overnight. Very disappointed.  Show details

Common thread here - beaters flimsy – I purchased this mixmaster from Big W, but as seems to be common, the beaters have broken at the weld. Very disappointed in this, because otherwise the machine is working really well. Not sure if it is worth buying more beaters if they are going to just keep breaking.  Show details

Work horse! – This baby was $120 at Big W. Cheap for a stand mixer. It has been an absolute work horse. 2 major cupcake drives (444 dozen +216 dozen cupcakes including butter cream icing) divided by 3 mixers that I used at the same time. Plus my regular orders are all done in my mx003 as it is my favourite of the 4 mixers I own. It's Light, it is incredibly… Read more ·  3

quiet and with awesome variable speed the only downfall is the glass bowls. Have smashed 2. Replacements are $50 plus postage. Currently using the bowl from a cheap mixer I purchased as a spare that I hate. It's a perfect fit. Beaters are just starting to get loose in the sockets and the turntable doesn't always spin without help (again expensive to replace) but after all the work it has done it is to be expected. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if they were still available to purchase. I recently bought a sunbeam classic mixer as I expect the mx003 will eventually break. Had to be replaced after it's first use. It wouldn't turn on. It is so loud and the bowls aren't big enough.

Poor quality – I brought the mixmaster as a present to myself about 18 months ago (possibly longer) and use it not much. I brought that brand as my mum had one when I was growing up & it lasted years. I thought I was getting a good brand. My beaters broke (yes both of them) today while mixing soft butter and sugar. So disappointed!

Good Mixer – I honestly don't know what all you people are doing to your mixers to say they are flimsy and break easy. What are you mixing? cement? I bought mine as a wedding present to myself over 2 years ago most expensive mixer Id ever purchased for myself, have used it lots and lots, for batters, cakes, butter creams, muffins, thick cookie doughs,… Read more

sponges, meringues and more. It hasn't let me down yet. I have gotten a spatula caught in the beaters and still no damage to them.

The bowl spins by itself pretty easily. It even spins with bowls not designed for it. I cant fault it yet, It mixes well its quite good at just dumping the ingredients in and walking away and leaving it to mix it picks up well off the bottom of the bowl etc. Its simple to use and does the job. Only fault is replacement bowls are expensive - dropped one on tiles and cant get one for under $50 delivered.

Works well – I received this as a birthday gift and I love it. It has optional speeds, 2 different bowls, double beaters and dough hooks. It is very quiet compared to conventional hand beaters, easy to clean and well made (like all Sunbeam products). The only problem is the flimsy beaters, they are too thin and break easily. I need to replace mine and the… Read more ·  1

cheapest I've seen is $40! Quiet, easy to use, different size bowls, 12 speeds, dough hooks Flimsy beaters

Poor Quality – I have had my sunbeam mixmaster MX003 for quite some time (long enough to be out of the warranty period), but have only used it 5 or 6 times, as I don't do much cooking which requires a mixmaster unless I am making a quick cake or muffins with the grandkids. When I purchased this mixmaster I wasn't kidding myself that I was buying a great quality… Read more

product, as it was only about $130.00 on sale. Also my son, who is a chef, told me not to buy sunbeam because their quality is not what it used to be.

But I did and after using it 5 or 6 times one of the beaters (yes I said beaters) has fallen apart - the weld has not held. I have looked into replacing the beater and the cheapest I can get one for is $35.00 + $12.00 postage ($47.00 in all which is more than a third of the original cost of the whole item). I am really disappointed by the quality of this product and now my suggestion to anyone thinking of buying a mixmaster (or any other kitchen appliance) is the same as my son's - don't buy a sunbeam as the quality is just not what it used to be. When it worked it did what I need it to do The quality is cheap and the metal beater has fallen apart. The parts are expensive to replace.

Disappointed customer – I recieved this Mixmaster for my birthday a week ago. I used it for the first time this evening and was very disappointed to find that the bowl doesn't have it's own motor to rotate it. It depends upon the beaters spinning the contents and therefore the force to spin the bowl. It worked well when I did a test run with soapy water to rince but one… Read more

I made my cupcake mix it was obviously too thick (hardly) for the machine and the bowl would not spin. I can do a better job with a hand mxer. Not impressed. Cheap to buy and quiet to run Flimsy and bowl doesn't rotate on it's own

Flimsy product – It worked ok for less than a year, although got very hot doing meringue, then both of the beaters completely shredded when bumped by a silicone spatula. I've just spent $40 on replacement parts and am not happy. Certainly not what I expected when I bought it. Won't be buying this brand again.

Avoid – Terrible flimsy product that broke second time used it we couldn't turn it off and the dial wouldn't control speeds certainly made the kitchen a mess also very noisy. There was also no speed control for the bowl so if you wanted to mix faster all the ingredients would just spill over worked well the first time, cheap flimsy components, noisy

Terrible product – I also bought this product and expected it to last, however after using it 3 or 4 times the beaters broke - first one and then the other. Since it was just out of warranty Sunbeam refused to do anything about it. Not Happy. Avoid it at all costs. Shoddy design in the beaters - anything tougher than a cake mix and they pop out Mixed well when… Read more

working. Terrible workmanship. Beaters broke when making a biscuit dough. Cannot handle anything but a packet cake mix.

Rubbish product – I received this mix master for Christmas but it didn't last a year (being used for cakes about once a week) before a beater broke. As it was just outside its warranty, Sunbeam refused to replace the faulty beater and advised me to go and purchase another one. I expected this machine and its components to last me at the bare minimum a few years… Read more

and for the metal beaters to last longer than the machine itself. Poor workmanship and obviously not built to last. Quiet, works well when not broken Cheap components that don't last

quiet and neat machine but – I bought a sunbeam MX003 mixer about 6 weeks ago and was absolutely delighted as it was very quiet and effective for an excellent (cheap) price. I previously had an expensive Sunbeam Cafe series which burned out after 3 years and could not afford another expensive mixer. Anyway, the MX003 has been used about 10 times and today when I went to use… Read more

it the light came on, but the mixer would not work. Maybe an electrical problem in the switch? I'll be looking for the receipt to return it. Hopefully the replacement will be ok. Very quiet and worked well Broke down after 6 weeks
