After a new scrapemaster beater for mx7900r mixer – My scrapemaster beater broke ,where can I get another,I love my mixer but it is practably useless without the scrapemaster beater and unless I can get another to replace the broken one I may as well bin th rest of the appliance.

Big regrets – Purchased this mixer approx. twelve months ago. Have used it about half a dozen times - latest today, which prompted me to write this - and I absolutely hate it. Doesn't cream butter and sugar at all. The mixture just stays plastered to the sides of the bowl and won't mix at all. I also find it really hard to add ingredients (eg eggs) as the gap… Read more

between the beater and side of the bowl is really small. Really regret buying it, especially for the price it was. Have been using my old Sunbeam which is 42 years old...way superior even if it doesn't work the best

Loved the colour-pity the insides aren't as good – Purchased mixer 6 years ago. Rarely used..christmas puddings and birthday cakes. Perfect size, attachments worked well. Suddenly the speed dial stopped doing a slow speed and accelerated to whipping speed at stop 1. Very dissappointed to discover that the dial is not replaceable. Will not be buying a Sunbeam again. Show details

My very first stand mixmaster – Used my mixmaster maybe once a week, I love to bake but I love variety, most of the use for my beautiful my stunning stand mixmaster was for whipping egg whites and cream. Until about a month prior to the machine not working, I tried my pasta roller that came with the machine. It didn't like mixing the dough jumping out of place, 200grams of flour… Read more

was used to make the dough so it was certainly not overloaded. I got 18months out of an item that retailed for $799. It didn't turn on, it did nothing at all. I can't help but think the dough was the issue because it was not made well enough to keep the bowl stable. Same Christmas I was given a blender with a heat element and it died a month before the stand mixmaster. I watched my grandmother bake for years with her very beautiful sunbeam mixmaster and it would appear that I will not be living any childhood memories through a sunbeam. Looking for a vacuum seal now but I am afraid to even look at sunbeam. Very disappointing for Sunbeam!!!

Quite good - not without issues – This is a massive step up from some of the cheaper mixers which border on disposable but for the cost could use some refinement. Pros: Powerful enough to do almost all jobs quickly. Less powerful machines will take a long time to achieve what this one does in no time. Very solid and seems to be well made. Cons: Very heavy machine. Not… Read more

sure if this is avoidable but older or infirm users will struggle to move it around the kitchen.

Tends to throw things out of the bowl a bit. Now it should be noted that there is a bowl cover available which would solve this problem but it is an optional accessory. Given that this is clearly a design flaw I really think the cover should come standard (it's even shown in the picture on the box).

The acid test question is 'Would I buy this again'. The answer is maybe but I would certainly look around for other models. At $200+ it's appealing to users who don't want junk and should therefore be just a bit more refined.

Perfect for my needs – I bought this just after Christmas as I've wanted a stand mixer for a long time and was fed up with trying to manage with my cheap, supermarket-bought handheld mixer. I couldn't be more pleased. I read all these reviews before I bought and was a bit worried about some of the features but bought anyhow, knowing that it would still do what I… Read more ·  2

mostly needed. It has exceeded my expectations and I have had none of the problems that other reviewers have mentioned.

Dough has been a dream as long as I stick to the 500g limit. I was a bit worried that the dough seems to climb up and a bit hangs out level with the top of the dough hook. However, after several days, I've realised that this is just a stage in the process. It soon settles back into the bowl and it shows that the dough has reached an elastic stage ready for proving. The dough hook works fine at settings 1 or 2 without any problems as far as I can see.

I've mixed simple cake mixes using the medium settings with the 'scraper' attachment. I've not noticed any splashing at all though I was worried from previous reviews. I even made a cake needing 7 eggs and sugar beaten together for several minutes using the whisk attachment and I did that at setting 10 or 11 if I remember rightly, and I had no splashing then either. The mix aerated beautifully and produced a great cake.

I do have concerned about the longevity of the plastic beater attachment though it doesn't seem pretty strong but the other two seem pretty sturdy. As mentioned in previous reviews, the 'scraper' attachment doesn't go anywhere near the surface of the bowl but a well-timed scrape down with a spatula seems to do the job. I went in knowing this would be a problem but I wasn't in a position to shell out for a $800+ mixer just to make sure this feature was in place. It hasn't been an issue, but then I'm not a high-power home baker.

That said, I've baked up a storm since purchasing the mixer and have enjoyed it immensely. I'm not disappointed so far after a month.

Love the dough mixer – Just made myself some bread using the dough setting on the mixer. Pretty impressed with how it mixed the ingredients in no time perfectly blended and with no requirement for me to knead dough and snap my floppy arms off. Looking forward to making cakes and biscuits and pavlova with this mixer in the near future. It looks stylish on the kitchen bench too :)  Show details

Great tool for simple recipes – This is a relatively cheap model compared to the higher powered mixmasters, and this does show when trying to blend thicker cake mixes or doughs. In saying this, for things like merengue or thiner cookie batters, this works well. The balloon whisk is handy to get your egg whites stiff and the flat paddle is great for blending and folder. A handy tool for the simple things. ,  Show details

Good cake mixer – I have had my mixer for almost 2 1/2 years. Initially after about 3 months my mixing paddle broke. time and other than that is still going strong. The only complaint I have is that it is messy and always flicks the dry ingredients out of the bowl. Also I find I have to stop and manually mix halfway through as some of the mix goes to the side and doesn't mix in.

Stopped working after 1yr 9mth. Warranty only lasts a year. Very disappointed :-( – It worked well for some things (when it was working), except it didn’t mix things that well in the bottom of the mixer with paddle attachment. It was sometimes hard to take the attachments on and off. I used it approximately once every 3-4 weeks but unfortunately stopped working after 21 months. It would randomly start and stop with knob control,… Read more

but mostly it wouldn’t start. I would expect for the amount you pay for this machine it would last longer than 1 year 9 mth. I would like a replacement as this is clearly not “wear and tear”, this seems like a product failure.

Biggest pile of overrated junk I've ever purchased from Sunbeam! – I paid over $300 for this machine on lay by and I hate it. I previously had a pre-historic one of my mothers with the two glass bowls, which in my opinion outperforms this overrated piece of junk tenfold. I've had this new unit for about 3 years, using it only say once a month in this period. The stainless bowl doesn't really lock-in and moves… Read more

when mixing. On "lowest speed" it spits flour and stuff all over the bench! The speed dial is very touchy and is slow to start and then takes off all of a sudden. The mixing paddle does not reach the bottom so there is always unmixed stuff stuck to the bottom of the mixing bowl. All in all, its crap and I would never buy one again! I am so disappointed as I have always purchased Sunbeam products!

another issue.. the mixing paddle is useless as the rubber blade has a large gap between it and the wall of the mixing bowl, where all butter and sugar accumulates, not reachable by the paddle . So you can not cream butter and sugar for a normal size recipe.

Great First Mixer!!! – I was given this sunbeam mixer as a Christmas present in 2017. necessarily mix, but that can be easily fixed by manually scooping it up back into the mixture. It does tend to struggle a bit with hard butter which makes it sound a little strained and the tops moves quite a bit. It makes cooking quiches and cakes very easy. Weak motor, died completely after 10 uses – Nice looking machine and well designed accessories. We used it only occasionally after the 40 year old Kenwood Chef passed down from my mother-in-law finally died. We found the motor to be pretty weak, and the bowl a strange shape at the bottom which meant ingredients didn’t mix. Fitting the bowl to the base was awkward. But then after using it only about 10 times, the motor failed completely. Glad I bought the extended warranty!  Show details

Doesn't do the job – This machine is very disappointing. I thought sunbeam was a great brand, but not for mixers! Quite simply, it cannot knead dough. The safety lock does not work on the bowl. When this happened a number of times trying to make pizza dough, I thought I would try a half batch of bread dough instead - same problem.

Standard mixing also fails, as flour ends up everywhere and it doesn't evenly mix - it doesn't reach to the bottom of the bowl, nor does it pick up anything from the sides.

The machine is unusable and a real disappointment.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! – I bought this machine to replace my old Kenwood. I use it to make biscuits with the dough hook. This machine will not mix the dough properly. Technology going backwards – Comes with a "paddle" to beat/mix. Paddle chucks contents out of the bowl all over the cook, bench and floor. Depression in the bottom of the bowl keeps ingredients away from mixing process. You need to be a weightlifter to raise the mixer head with one hand (let alone the one finger in the advertisement).
