2 Elizabeth  · It leaks water on my ironing whenever I use the steam. Thsis is not good enough – From the first time I used the iron it leaked.
5 Amiee  · Making ironing easy!!! – I got my sunbeam verve 2 1/2 years ago! Fantastic iron that heats up quickly and irons smooth and removes wrinkles
1 Paul Stevenson  · Steam button broke – As per other reviews, one of the steam buttons broke off. The iron is only 18 months old. Not worth the price.

Unhappy Ironer – My Sunbeam Iron made landfill in less than 6 months due to the internal container which kept the water for steaming garments shooting out rusty water. Very disappointing that a leading brand name like Sunbeam cannot make a relatively cheap iron ($50 from Target) which can last more than 6 months. In my calculation if I bought a Sunbeam iron every… Read more

6 months for the next 20 years then I would have spent a $1000 and created alot of landfill with what I would have to throw out, including the packaging. Wouldn't it be great if reputable companies could produce products which lasted alot longer using components which last the distance?

LOUSY IRON – As I grew up with Sunbeam irons, and no other all my life, I bought this one, to replace old one. It is the worst iron I've ever tried to use. What happened Sunbeam???? It's a mess ... drips water all over, and all the reviews said that before I bought it, but really could not believe them ... not SUNBEAM! BUT, yeah, steer clear of this iron. … Read more

Doesn't get hot enough to stop drips ... just very poor workmanship, obviously from a company that doesn't seem to care. This iron is very expensive for an iron ($101) and for that, you'd expect a well-designed and working product. The sole plate is amazing, but not with all the water dripping out all the time. They must be spending a lot of $$$ processing returns, and throwing a sub-standard product away into the environment. Given the number of negative reviews, they are certainly aware of the problem. But, do nothing about it! Sunbeam of yesteryear was a fabulous iron .. this model and product just sucks. Bye-bye Sunbeam!

Very Unhappy – This is the WORST iron I have ever owned. My 16yo, who rarely irons, even proclaimed "this iron doesn't work"! Does 'auto off' mean it beeps every second for 4,5,6 hours until you get home and turn it off? Not once has it turned itself off. Never forgotten, only deliberately left on to see how long the 'auto off' function took to work, which was… Read more

NEVER. Probably explains why the 'auto off' badging on the handle rubbed off on my thumb in under half an hour of use. It came off like pen ink would. For about 2 weeks I have persistently tried to get a decent result out of this iron. I am absolutely unable to iron anything. The steam is non existant on any setting or temperature. The only time it 'steams' like it is gasping for air, is when you stand it upright to reheat. This iron is being returned. Maybe it is a faulty product but I won't be buying it again all the same.

Sunbeam Iron – For the price we paid. It’s really good iron to have. Does the job like it’s expected to. Very easy and quick to heat up and easy to navigate through tight screens. Show details ·  1

What a difference – Thanks Sunbeam. We were very unhappy with the Sunbeam Alpha SR 6350 but Sunbeam took it back for a full refund and we bought the Verve Platinum instead which irons brilliantly and is so much easier to use. Show details ·  1

Disappointed – Always used Sunbeam but this is the worst ever. On highest cotton setting, have to use spray to try and iron creases out. Spray/steam button very hard to push. Very disappointed. Show details

Lasted a week – At first it heated up quickly and worked fine. After a week it is going into auto shut off after around 30 seconds regardless if it’s standing, laying down or being used. Very disappointing product from sunbeam! Show details

Worst Sunbeam iron I have owned in my 70 years – Leaves water splodges on the clothes even if water tank is half filled. Very hard to get the dial on the right temperature and can't seem to set the steam dial correctly. Hate hate hate this iron and very disappointed in Sunbeam. Show details

Thank you Sunbeam for my replacement iron and your prompt attention to my complaint. I am so much happier now that I have a proper working iron.

Does not work – This is the first product I've ever bought that does not work out the box. Bought this iron 2 days ago and did the first water clean. Today I turned it on for the first time and the beeping started within 5-10 seconds. The temperature is intermittent, and not able to iron a t-shirt when on hottest setting. Tonight I tried again and same beeping.… Read more

Put the iron down flat to iron, did two strokes and the beeping started again. And water was dripping down from the holes in the plate. I didn't check the reviews because I've bought sunbeam for 30 years. Don't waste your time in this product.

Disappointed with Sunbeam Verve SR6550 – I bought the new Verve SR6550 iron about 3-4 weeks ago and used it on my next ironing day. Read the instructions and how the iron worked. Couldn't stand the continual beeping for whatever was upsetting it. 2nd week: tried again to use the iron. It beeped after about 5-10 seconds having stood it on its heel. (need to stop ironing to straighten the… Read more

clothes). Then it got upset again - more beeping - couldn't work out what the problem was. I shall return this to the store when I'm next in that town. After 50+ years of ironing I should know basic safety and how to use an iron! I shall go back to my non-digital steam iron which still does a good job. It's also a bit heavy.

not happy – I purchased this iron recently. This iron is difficult to use as the dial is not easy to understand and difficult to see the markings. It often wont turn on even tho the on light illuminates but the temp light does not turn on. The steam does not come out unless the steam spray or shot is pressed. Show details

Just an update. The iron had several faults and was replaced by Good Guys. I am very happy with the replacement.

Good but not excellent – The iron working good but it breaks easily. I've changed two times: the first time the iron plate was ruined immediately, and the second time it stops to work the steam.

Not the usual sunbeam quality – Initially very happy with the iron and have always had sunbeam. After a few months it started leaking and now leaks every time used to the point were there would be 3-4 large leaks on one side of a shirt front. As I sew, quilt and iron most garments, I am using the iron every week. I will return to store of purchase and give sunbeam another chance. Show details

Easy to Use – This is a good reliable iron. Nothing is particularly outstanding, but it does the job well. Pros: - Good control of temperature - I haven't scorched anything with it (yet) - Large water reservoir - Easy to clean - Strong shot of steam - Long power cord Cons: - The writing on the dial is way too small - The dial controlling the steam is not as intuitive as some other irons Show details ·  1

Brilliant iron – I purchased this to replace another Sunbeam Verve I had for 13 years. I tried a Tefal in between and returned it because they try to automate it too much. I iron my work gear every day and I cannot fault this product. Pros: - Super long cord that allows freedom when ironing (much longer than competitor brands) - Fast to heat and great steam -… Read more ·  1

good control over the steam when ironing - Simplistically gets wrinkles out quick without the need to spray water - does its job well - Has controls for no steam, low/med/high outputs - Good heat control - Feels good over clothes Auto turn off

Cons - RRP is high ($139) but I got it on sale at Myer for $69

Definitely recommend Sunbeam products over others. They are good old rock and provide a superior product in my view. Im really surprised by all of the low reviews here... I usually align with other reviewers but on this one I am giving 5 stars and two thumbs up.

Disappointed – Bought this iron to replace my old trusty Sunbeam. Almost from first day leaked and splashed water from the poorly designed water cap. Iron was returned several months after purchase and replaced with same model. Started out OK but now new one sprinkles water everwhere and now the auto steam doesn't work making business shirts look less than business. Won't go back for a 3rd bite. Show details

Splashes water everywhere – This iron splashes so much water onto the items that I am ironing I have to hang them up to dry. I think I'll have to put this in the cupboard as a spare and buy another brand. Unlike my earlier iron the Verve 58 does not beep a warning when left on. I wish I had taken note of that brand as it served me well for many years. Show details

Faster ironing – This is an effective iron. It is faster then other irons I’ve had, even on over dry clothes. The iron holds a lot of water for steam ironing, but uses the steam really quickly so I find it needs regular refilling. You can adjust the temperature and the steam levels.  Show details ·  1

One Hot Iron – I’ve had this babe for over nine months and she has been amazing. The way she glides over you and makes you feel great is second to none. So if you have an Iron fetish, Verve 65 is your girl, I'm very happy with it's a great iron for the price. Has all the usual features - temp setting, steam and spray, but also has the beeping sound to tell you it's going to turn itself off soon!  Show details ·  1

I use this product everyday! – This iron works like a dream! It presses clothes so well, doesn't splatter water all over clean clothes, and cools down quickly! I love that it has the heat sticker, which tells you when the iron is safe to touch anywhere. It also holds a lot of water, which means I am not constantly filling it up!  Show details ·  1

Can't fault it – This iron can be summed as completely average. It heats up to medium in about ten minutes. It effectively sprays steam. The water spray comes out from the front and does what it needs to do. The power cable is braided, and out the box it comes with a small cup for filling the iron with water. The amount of water it holds is sufficient enough for a… Read more

Okay, does its job – I needed an iron but didn't want to spend too much. I bought one of these from Kmart as it was on special. So far I have not had an issue with it. It does what it's designed for. If you want a cheap iron that does the job, this is a good option.
