Doesn't get hot enough to stop drips ... just very poor workmanship, obviously from a company that doesn't seem to care. This iron is very expensive for an iron ($101) and for that, you'd expect a well-designed and working product. The sole plate is amazing, but not with all the water dripping out all the time. They must be spending a lot of $$$ processing returns, and throwing a sub-standard product away into the environment. Given the number of negative reviews, they are certainly aware of the problem. But, do nothing about it! Sunbeam of yesteryear was a fabulous iron .. this model and product just sucks. Bye-bye Sunbeam!

What a difference – Thanks Sunbeam. We were very unhappy with the Sunbeam Alpha SR 6350 but Sunbeam took it back for a full refund and we bought the Verve Platinum instead which irons brilliantly and is so much easier to use. Show details ·  1

Disappointed – Always used Sunbeam but this is the worst ever. On highest cotton setting, have to use spray to try and iron creases out. Spray/steam button very hard to push. Very disappointed. Show details

Lasted a week – At first it heated up quickly and worked fine. After a week it is going into auto shut off after around 30 seconds regardless if it’s standing, laying down or being used. Very disappointing product from sunbeam! Show details

Worst Sunbeam iron I have owned in my 70 years – Leaves water splodges on the clothes even if water tank is half filled. Very hard to get the dial on the right temperature and can't seem to set the steam dial correctly. Hate hate hate this iron and very disappointed in Sunbeam. Show details

Does not work – This is the first product I've ever bought that does not work out the box. Bought this iron 2 days ago and did the first water clean. Put the iron down flat to iron, did two strokes and the beeping started again. And water was dripping down from the holes in the plate. I didn't check the reviews because I've bought sunbeam for 30 years. Don't waste your time in this product.

Disappointed with Sunbeam Verve SR6550 – I bought the new Verve SR6550 iron about 3-4 weeks ago and used it on my next ironing day. Read the instructions and how the iron worked. clothes). Then it got upset again - more beeping - couldn't work out what the problem was. I shall return this to the store when I'm next in that town. After 50+ years of ironing I should know basic safety and how to use an iron! I shall go back to my non-digital steam iron which still does a good job. It's also a bit heavy.

not happy – I purchased this iron recently. This iron is difficult to use as the dial is not easy to understand and difficult to see the markings. It often wont turn on even tho the on light illuminates but the temp light does not turn on. The steam does not come out unless the steam spray or shot is pressed. Show details

Good but not excellent – The iron working good but it breaks easily. I've changed two times: the first time the iron plate was ruined immediately, and the second time it stops to work the steam.

Easy to Use – This is a good reliable iron. Nothing is particularly outstanding, but it does the job well. good control over the steam when ironing - Simplistically gets wrinkles out quick without the need to spray water - does its job well - Has controls for no steam, low/med/high outputs - Good heat control - Feels good over clothes Auto turn off

Cons - RRP is high ($139) but I got it on sale at Myer for $69

Definitely recommend Sunbeam products over others. They are good old rock and provide a superior product in my view. Im really surprised by all of the low reviews here... I usually align with other reviewers but on this one I am giving 5 stars and two thumbs up.

Disappointed – Bought this iron to replace my old trusty Sunbeam. Almost from first day leaked and splashed water from the poorly designed water cap. Iron was returned several months after purchase and replaced with same model. Started out OK but now new one sprinkles water everwhere and now the auto steam doesn't work making business shirts look less than business. Won't go back for a 3rd bite. Show details

Rubbish, Leaks and burns clothes – Initially it looked good, but then slowly within a few months, it started leaking, burning clothes etc. on high heat. If on low heat, it doesn't iron at all. Even after ironing for 15 minutes it just doesn't get the creases out! Show details

Good – I always iron my own shirt and this iron all of my shirt really well, it’s easy to use anc it heats up quick. The cord length is quite long, so it is easy to handle and use. Show details ·  1

Does a good job – I do not usually use iron as I am too lazy for that, but after I bought this iron, my dad has to iron his shirt to go to work!! The iron is not that large so it is quite easy to store, would recommend. Show details ·  1

Heat up quick – I just bought this last month and it is still working well. It heats up quick, easy to handle, use and iron every type of clothing. The cord length also fits my arm and the price is not that expensive as well. Show details ·  1

not too bad – It is not too bad as what the others said I think, It works normally and okay for me, the water inside doesn't drip everywhere and it glides smoothly. The weight is a little bit heavy but this is not a big problem. I also like the cord, it is quite long.  Show details

Faster ironing – This is an effective iron. It is faster then other irons I’ve had, even on over dry clothes. The iron holds a lot of water for steam ironing, but uses the steam really quickly so I find it needs regular refilling. You can adjust the temperature and the steam levels.  Show details ·  1

One Hot Iron – I’ve had this babe for over nine months and she has been amazing. The way she glides over you and makes you feel great is second to none. So if you have an Iron fetish, Verve 65 is your girl, I'm very happy with it's a great iron for the price. I use this product everyday! – This iron works like a dream! It presses clothes so well, doesn't splatter water all over clean clothes, and cools down quickly! I love that it has the heat sticker, which tells you when the iron is safe to touch anywhere. It also holds a lot of water, which means I am not constantly filling it up!  Show details ·  1

Can't fault it – This iron can be summed as completely average. It heats up to medium in about ten minutes. It effectively sprays steam. small family load of clothes. Not incredibly powerful, but for how cheap it is, there's really not much faulting it.

Okay, does its job – I needed an iron but didn't want to spend too much. I bought one of these from Kmart as it was on special. So far I have not had an issue with it. It does what it's designed for. certainly cannot complain. I've had mine for just over a year and it still works perfectly.

If you want a cheap iron that does the job, this is a good option.
