Supercheap Auto Online Store

Extremely poor website and customer service I have now had multiple issues with Supercheap Auto’s website and checkout process, and unfortunately it has reached the point where I no longer trust the system. On a number of occasions, the website has indicated during the final checkout process that my available credits would be applied to the… Read more
purchase. However, the credits were not actually applied. I was then left with the credit unused, only for it to eventually expire before I had another opportunity to use it.
This has happened to me three separate times, which is far too often to simply be considered a technical mistake.
I have also had a similar issue with Supercheap Auto’s Best Price Guarantee. When purchasing online, there is no clear or obvious place during checkout to enter or submit a competitor’s price. Then, when you go into the store to collect your Click & Collect order, you are told that it is too late and that the Best Price information should have been provided during checkout.
If the website is going to take customers through the checkout process without clearly providing the opportunity to apply legitimate credits or Best Price discounts, only to tell them afterwards that they missed their opportunity, I find the process extremely misleading and unacceptable.
The customer should be clearly informed before payment is finalised that a credit or discount has not been applied. It should not be left until after the transaction, or until the customer arrives at the store, to discover that they have lost the opportunity.
After multiple experiences like this, I have lost confidence in Supercheap Auto’s online purchasing system and customer service.
I will now be purchasing more of my automotive needs through Amazon, where I can order from home, have the items delivered to my door, and at least have a checkout process where the price and applicable discounts are clearly displayed before completing the purchase.
Very disappointing experience from a company I have previously used regularly.
The SCA web-chat is outdated and difficult to use. The automatic system seems to respond to everything with "please try again".. and the live chat never connects. I entered my question and then waited for a response. I waited for 20 mins and it periodically responds with a canned message apologizing for the delay etc.. it then asks if you are… Read more
still there - and if YOU do not respond timely - it disconnects. Their customer service is awful. I was attempting to login to my club account so i could place a $500 order. Now I have to go to a competitor site. Either intentionally or unintentionally - SCA appear to be going out of business.

I’m quite disappointed with my experience at Supercheap Auto Dandenong. A couple of days ago, I placed a Click & Collect order for a RUPES D-A Ultra-Fine Polishing Foam Pad 130/150mm at the Narre Warren store. I was later contacted and told the product was not actually available, and my money was refunded. Today, I checked the Supercheap Auto… Read more
website and saw the same product showing as available at the Dandenong store. As I was heading to work, I went out of my way to visit the store to purchase it.
When I arrived, I asked a staff member about the product and was directed to aisle 15. I couldn't find it, so I asked again. Another staff member checked aisle 15 and initially brought me a 125mm pad, which was not the product I was looking for. He then checked the drawers, but the product couldn't be located. He also contacted someone to check the warehouse, but they couldn't find any stock there either.
As I was leaving disappointed, I was told by another staff member that “it might be stolen.” I found this explanation surprising. If the website says the product is available, customers reasonably expect that the store actually has the product in stock. If the item is missing, misplaced or the stock count is incorrect, the online inventory should ideally be updated.
The staff were generally polite and did try to look for the item, so my main frustration isn't with the employees themselves. My concern is the inaccurate stock information, which resulted in me making an unnecessary trip to the store.
I hope Supercheap Auto can improve the accuracy of its store inventory system so customers can rely on the availability shown online, particularly when travelling to a store specifically to collect or purchase an item.

My second purchase and the LAST! My order arrived in a MESS from their Gledswood Hills store due to being poorly packed! Lid had come off the tub of wax and it was everywhere! Purchased a set of custom canvas seat covers for an iload van. This is the 3rd set I have purchased for my van as I am in the drivers seat all day everyday. Misleading Price Match Policy, Horrendous Communication & Denial of Request Based on Unsubstantiated Criteria – Using the Supercheap Auto Web Chat portal on the 29/01/2025, I contacted a representative seeking price matching. I provided the link to their in house product offering and an equivalent item from Catch of the day; the price difference was substantial ~$500 AUD vs ~$67 AUD. Immediately, the worker was looking for reasons to dismiss my request.… Read more
Citing the exclusion of "market place" sellers from this policy to wit; I rebutted this reasoning with direct and contradictory quotes from their own criteria for the Price Beat Guarantee program. The representative conceded that I was right and admitted that Catch of the day "market place" items ARE in fact eligible. I thought this was fantastic and enthusiastically asked how to proceed with the price matched checkout process, my excitement was misplaced as despite the half an hour of conversation that lead to this point the obfuscation and semantics had only just begun. The representative then proceeded to in the space of a further 30-45 minutes, send irregular responses with new excuses to deny the price match: to which I concisely argued how the criteria had not only been met but exceeded.
Regardless this was to no avail and I was essentially fobbed off, lazily telling me I can go in-store (Inconvenient due to my location and work hours), call the support line (Sit on hold for great lengths of time) or direct an email to their customer care address. I have now conversed with easily 5-6 different support agents, with zero consistency in who responds to me. (Note: how can I expect my case to be handled diligently when the agent addressing me is constantly changing?).
They continue to fail to address my reasoning as to why the product fits the criteria, completely ignoring every point I have made and citing "policy" that is not advertised to the public on any of their documentation entailing their price beat guarantee.
Please note: Despite being extremely frustrating, I have strived to maintain my composure with all support workers; while they continue to provide minimal assistance and zero valid justification.

1. I needed to replace my rear drum brake shoes - two shoes to a rear wheel drum brake, and there are two rear wheels - that is FOUR brake shoes. 2. So I looked at the Trade Line Brake Shoes on the Supercheap Auto website. It showed 2 brake shoes,… Read more
and the details said, "One per vehicle". I think it is reasonable to assume that they mean two brakes shoes to a packet, so you need two packets.

3. The the add for the Bendix Brake shoes, says in the fine print "4 Shoes".
Image 02 + 02-B
4. So it seemed reasonable to assume that if I bought the Trade Link brake Shoes, I would need 2 x 2 packets - as it showed two shoes to a pack, and nothing else.
So I bought 2 packs of these brake shoes.
The magic is that these are "special order" and the people in the store, probably would not know how many of these shoes are in the pack... because the packs are not in the store to examine.
OK so I got the order from the Supercheap online order, delivered by courier and the box felt "kind of heavy" for two brake shoes - It was the weight of FOUR brake shoes....
I opened it - and there were four brake shoes.
Given the distances, frequency and the amount of properly braked stops - as I usually dethrottle and slow down gradually before the turns, traffic lights etc., and I make very little braking per 100Km..., one set of brake pads would last 1 or 2 million Km.
So now thanks to Supercheap Auto's poor marketing, I have 2 life times sets of brake pads.
I then tried all the rigmerol of their emails with lots of dead links to dead webpages on returns, so I got into the chat....
They programmed it to keep repeating, "What is the nature of your inquiry?" like 5 times.
No one responded in the chat, within 40 or 50 minutes.
This is image 3.
So I called the Supercheap Help Line on 1300 175 010.
In the 40 or 50 minute wait time, I drafted up an email, with contents similar to this and asked for a refund on the second set of shoes - and I told them if they want to send up a courier to pick them back up, that is fine by me - then I sent it to the Supercheap Customer Service at onlinesales@supercheapauto.com.au
After being on hold for so long, the "The Great Indian Customer Service" person answered.
She asked me, "How can I help you today?"
I replied, "I have sent the issues though as an email to the online customer service".
She does not ask me for my email address so she can look it up, she then asks me, "What seems to be the problem?" - which is the first step to going around in circles and wasting your time.
I told her, "It's all written up in the email".
She continued with her go around in circles rhetoric, so I told her, "Ask me for my email address, so you can look it up".
She then said, "Oh I am sorry, I cannot do that".
Having become an expert on avoiding time wasters in foreign call centers, I just hung up and left the call.
So now the email with the issues is in writing, with the Supercheap Customer Service.
I expect this to go as badly as they have always done so in the past.
Probably nowhere.
I have also done a charge back on the second set of brake shoes by paypal - on the provisio that they "Supercheap Online" organise the couriers to do the pick up, and pay for them, themselves.
------------------
Yeah a small update.
They did change their website advertisment - to include no details at all.
This is beyond useless.

Follow-up · Absolutely aweful. The Supercheap online sales team are worse than the worst of the bad Ebay sellers, and Ebays Ai and outsourced ( Ai ) customer service. Activated the offer online, took the battery into Maitland store, I notified the salesperson I had the battery and had her enter it into the computer. When I received the invoice later, the $5.00 credit wasn’t on the invoice. I rang Maitland and was told the credit gets applied 24 hours after you bring the battery in, so the credit does not apply to the sale on the day. This is a false and misleading representation of the credit; it’s designed to make you come in a second time to be able to use the credit. I will be using Supercheap a whole lot less in the future because of this predatory behaviour.
Follow-up · I complained directly to Supercheap and their response was quite good. They offered a $50 credit for the stress and inconvenience caused (the next day) which restored my view of Supercheap. I am back to using Supercheap as a preferred supplier.

Ordered a HardKorr light bar on Black Friday with delivery promised for early December. Two months later there was still no sign of delivery, and I had to swap to another product just to get something ASAP. There was no tracking and poor communication throughout. Ordered online and received no updates on the order past the delivery date, had to reach out via support only to be told that the item was out of stock (even though it was in stock at time of purchase) and wouldn't be sent till a month after the order was placed. The fact that I didn't receive any updates on the order until reaching out after the delivery times is ridiculous.
