Requested a pool service from the Swimart Lawnton store. Pool had some algea build up as it had run low on salt. (Heavy rain etc) and I didnt feel like lugging bags of salt :-) Swimart Lawnton quoted me $5600 to repair the pool equipment - claimed it needed a new pump and belowground pipework as well as a chlorinator which they said was leaking.… Read more
They were right, it was leaking AFTER they tried to remove the cell by undue force and so damaged the housing. No joy with the store. Attempted to contact their head office - phone rings out. Wonder why? Had to replace the chlorinator at my expense. Original pump still working fine. Maybe they were in need of some work
New management at Swimart Belconnen treats customers like a problem from the moment you walk in the door. Gives you the wrong test results which include other customers personal details and doesn’t seem to follow the Australian Privacy Act after you alert them to these practices. Been a customer for several years and spent tens of thousands of dollars, but maybe time to go to another pool shop. I wouldn’t recommend. Show details
Swimart Castle Hill - AVOID! I have been a loyal customer of Swimart Castle Hill for past 5 years, however am appalled at store management attitude and treatment of customers. This is disappointing as their staff in store were quite helpful and I had years of great service from this store until the change in management this year. After taking… Read more
my Dolphin s300i for service I was recommended to send it off to Maytronics to inspect by their helpful staff. I was informed there was an issue that would cost $1500 to repair and was recommended to replace with equivalent and newer Hydro Plus model for $2500 instead. Upon purchasing & receiving the Hydro Plus (no model in store to inspect), I learned there is no functional control (only on/off), no fine filter inner basket, and no ability for user to control where to direct the robot to clean. Immediately I requested my old Dolphin s300i back but I was told this was disposed of, which I never approved. Regardless I attempted multiple cleans over a 7 day period and discovered the Hydro Plus highly ineffective. Not only was there leaf debris at the bottom but there were clear areas of the floors, walls and waterlines that had never been touched. In addition, the robot would frequently spin mid-water, lose grip on the walls and go off in random directions.
Upon escalation first to Swimart, I was requested to bring the robot in for inspection. I tried to remove and clean the basket however the flimsy plastic latch was jammed and I didn't want to force and break it, but was asked to leave it in the store for inspection. After a week I called again and was informed as I had already used it, it was working fine in their view and I needed to keep the model I had purchased. I located the Store Manager's details and strongly escalated my concerns relating to lack of performance vs prior Dolphin model and strongly requested escalation to Maytronics for review. This time he listened, ran some tests and confirmed that Hydro Plus was misguided, spinning mid-water and potentially an electronic issue so he was going to raise with Maytronics.
After another month of no pool cleaner, I was informed a plumber would come out to install the new Robot at 7am. Despite rearranging my day, 3 text msgs and multiple phone calls to store confirming he was on his way, he finally arrived more than 6 hours later. By this stage I had given up but found another time when I could next rearrange to accommodate. This time the plumber arrived with what looked like the original Hydro Plus. The plumber was unable to explain what the issue was, what had been repaired (if any) but put it in my pool and said it is doing the best job this model can do. Upon challenge of the lack of cleaning for floors, walls and waterline, he insulted the choice of plants around the pool, blamed the shape of the pool (inc steps) and explained I must have 'got lucky' with my older Dolphin s300i model for possible reasons this model was ineffective.
Regardless I attempted to clean the pool with the returned Hydro Plus multiple times over the next week and same issue: Unable to effectively clean the floor, walls and waterline despite the product claims and recommendation by staff. I called Maytronics to get advice and they requested I take it back to address at the Swimart store where I purchased, as this is the process for all retail consumer contracts. Undeterred I again escalated to Store Manager to request refund for this ineffective model and was appalled at his response. The Store Manager told me: * I was not to bring the product back as Swimart would 'throw it in the bin and there would be no record' * His Swimart store would only refund me if he was refunded from Maytronics first * In his view the robot is fine, my money is gone and I'm stuck with the robot 'case closed'
It is now 3 months without an effective pool robot, my issue remains unresolved and I am $2.5k out of pocket. I strongly recommend all potential Swimart Castle Hill customers to take your business elsewhere.

Very friendly because they test your pool water then charge you for the chemicals.......be aware. imo unprofessional – Very friendly because they test your pool water then charge you for the chemicals - you'd never know if you need what they say you need - then comes the service of the pool and equipment. Requested a pool review service because I was getting under 50 on the gauge. and possibly a damp area around the pump/filter some times (no pooling of water) On… Read more
mentioning this the technician straight away they had a tick - and focused on the pump - I said closed circuit of the filter I get just under 100 on the gauge. The technician your pump is leaking and your chlorinator is only working on one cell.
Straight away he said we'll take them away put the pump on a test bed and test the circuit card of the chlorinator. On asking how much he said we'll put it on a test bed. his concern was the pump and chlorinator wasn't worried about the lack of pressure or I wanted to know fi I needed a sand change.
To me being ex military a test bed is put it on a bench run it up and test the pressure to assess the pump for pressure and a leak. .- not so in civilian street.
Later asked an engineer who said the same but pool pumps are relatively easy to take apart and not to replace the mech seal. they agreed a test bed is run it up, look for leaks and bearing wearing via V&A.
They called to advise the pump needs $395 of work, to fix the bearings will fail in time, would be more. The chlorinator circuit card needs replaced at $795 - they are both worth repairing, they also advised the cost of replacements new ones Of course they have a special on the pump and can let me have it for $1599. - how nice. later found the pump for $1299.
Chlorinator $1899 found one for $1200 in Sydney both came to $3499 for replacement fitted, its was just plug and play
I know and understand companies need to make coin and fair enough but don't rip people off.
being in logistics industry, I started to look at the new equipment offered on the net called one place in Sydney , I'm from QLD for a price and it was $700 cheaper. The guy on the phone said they're ripping you off.
Because of the inflated prices on the new equipment I started to question the price for repairs were they also inflated?
I made the decision to tell them to return the pump and chlorinator - I would run them in to the ground and sort later.
I was told that the pump will need repairing because the mechanical seal will need replacing because its in parts it was on a test bed.
I was told that the chlorinator might be unsafe electrical because of the circuit card fault, I told them that it has two Chanels and one is working so its ok.
On returning the pump I advised I didn't think the pump had a leak because the ground is damp around the pump.
It now has a leak water is P^ssing out of it. very visible, Technician said it is what it is.
I was told I'd need to add more chlorine than normal because the chlorinator is on one set of cells, funny that because my tests at his shop have high chlorine readings.
unfortunately the above has left a bitter taste I'll never use any branch of Swimart I'll be driving else where from Nerang to find a suitable honest pool shop.
I was charged just under $140 for the privilege and a broken pump before this the pump had no visible leaks.
I found new equipment online Both same quality different brand for $1600 ordered 11am yesterday, delivered by 8:30 the next day.
Do your research people.
20231125 after replacing the pump and chlorinator myself , the was working fine , backwashes, rinse etc, that was until today when it had drained overnight to the skimmer basket level.
I filled it up scratching my head thinking what it could be I filled it up pool pump running , went to cut the lawns outside the gate and noticed that water was flowing out,
went back to investigate took the valve cover off and noticed the gasket was worn, went to another pool shop $35 for a new spider gasket.
So this company not only cost me $1600 in replacement pump and chlorinator, when I originally got them around to look at the pool sand filter IMO the so called technician focused on the pump and chlorinator - tested them noting the pump had no visible leaks but the expert never bothered to investigate what I mentioned and when for the high value products, what a X^&X^*)##$.

Be very careful with Swimart – Swimart Carlingford told me I needed a new chlorinator. It would cost about $3000. I did not have $3000. I researched the issue and found that it could be repaired. objections with their head office but there is no way to do that. So I did what you do, which is to post something on their FB page. Of course, that got their attention! Swimart’s response was to attack the customer, threaten legal action, and actually refuse to service my pool. Fortunately for me - my new provider charges $125 for the same job Swimart charged $180! Be very careful of Swimart. Be careful of any service that tries to blind you with science, and relies on customer ignorance

for a physical clean & on-site water test - there's nothing about treating & supply of chemicals in any of their promo material & neither in their scheduled services T&C.
The treatment is an addition that they seemingly prefer the customer to assume is part & parcel with the service agreement, which it isn't; plus, with their supply of over-priced pool chemicals for the extra to contract treatment. Swimart doesn't declare this, & instead will claim they've the responsibility to ensure safe pool quality by using only their proprietary chemicals & that they're liable if they leave an untreated pool - this is bumkin, as their chemicals are simply packaged with their branding while the chemicals come from the same sources as for all the other pool services in Australia, & a deceitful practice by obfuscating the identity of their chemicals & the reality that they act outside the terms of their contracted servicing. They further ensure the deception by invoicing only for the over priced chemicals as an addition to the service fee.
The Swimart Currimundi, QLD owner/manager responded to me that they would rather cancel a service agreement than not use their own branded chemicals, when I proposed supplying my own sourced chemicals (so long as they matched the required active constituent strength). The reason being that the scheduled service contract itself was not worth their time - I didn't explore if that meant the servicing was done for a loss or instead that there were other suckers to make more profit off for the same time period. When I also queried the extra to contract servicing the owner/manager resorted to bluster & questioning my qualification to discuss contractual issues.
To be clear, it's not a scam, their servicing itself is fine in my experience. They're just not upfront with their business practice, in effect deceit by withholding, exorbitantly priced for what you get, & they're unreasonable when queried about it. Because of this, the Swimart service is dishonest & should be avoided in my opinion. For those who are happy with Swimart, good on you & perhaps one day I'll not have a care for my hard earned cash &/or shall achieve blissful ignorance to the benefit of others.

Price gouging – Called about a part. Was quoted "approx $42 but will confirm once availability is confirmed". Other retailers have same price. Secondly, I purchased a Chlorinator online that was on sale and well below retail prices locally. Steve and Jaunita did not hesitate and provide a quote for installing the chlorinator and some extra valves that I needed. Wayne turned up as quoted and did a great, professional job. We have an unusual setup to the pool but it has all worked brilliantly.
I highly commend Browns Plains Swimart - I have always had great dealings with them and always found the parts that I need.
Swimart Rose Bay – Stay away from Swimart Rose Bay. Worst customer service. Very disappointing that the recent change in ownership has not meant a better attitude to customer service. They took over 5 weeks to repair a broken pool pump which was still under warranty. taking advantage of my lack of knowledge on pool equipment and how to maintain a pool. I ordered new equipment from Swimart before Christmas but I was told I had to wait until after Christmas for delivery. My pool went green on Christmas Day 2019 even though Swimart had attended my pool the day before! I was given advice by my family not to buy new equipment but to clean the chlorinator in acid and replace the media in the filter. I did this and my pool equipment was back working perfectly straight away. It has been 6 weeks now since Christmas and I have my pool tested once per week and have not required to put in any pool chemicals other than acid into my pool. My pool is sparkling clean! I contacted Swimart's head office and I was told to speak to their rep who has been rude to me. If I was Swimart I would remove this Gold Coast agent from the Swimart brand. It is shameful behaviour.

to come out and fix under warranty (Still cost a few hundred dollars in chemicals to fix the pool back up). At the 2x year 3x month mark the chlorinator failed again, with only a 2x year warranty. Swimart came out and replaced the chlorinator cell after 2x weeks and considerable phone calls, telling us that as a sign of good will would replace the unit at no charge. Approximately a week later we received an email with a bill attached. Believing it an error we called the store and discussed the above. We then received another bill with a reduced cost. We again corresponded with them but they were unwilling to honour their phone agreement so we were left with the cost.
