Please do Not buy from Sydney Tools. Recently bought a demo saw trolley, we called ahead and had to go to the Alexandria branch which is 1 hrs drive away . The person in the store told us it will fit our stihl machine . We paid via credit card in… Read more

store .

Our driver drove back to site , in all costing us a 3 hr trip pile tolls ,only to find it didn’t fit . We then the same day took it to our closest branch to return it , costing us another 1 hr . They told us they cannot give a refund , we have to go back to the other branch 1 hrs drive and tolls away. We called ahead and asked if we could do the credit there . They said yes. We sent our driver first thing Monday back to the store , costing us another 4 hours in peak period traffic . Our drive got told it was over $1000 so they cannot credit us on the card …..

I am the owner ,my driver called me while on leave for my anniversary to speak to the manager at the store , because he was having endless hastles .

He then told me the best they can do is refund via BSB and account and it will take upto 10 days .

I accepted there terms . After having to ask for the manager , due to the staff in store having no idea how to credit an item literally returned the next day and clearly communicated the day we bought it that they gave us the wrong product we asked for .

My huge frustration is that I had to call a manager , who told me he didn’t like my tone or that I was frustrated. At no point did he apologise for costing us 1 full days transport and labour for their poor service and communication. I still now have to wait for 10 days to get a refund on a $1300 product which they supplied and was not fit for purpose .

Sydney tools it seems do not care about customer service and their managers cannot be respectful enough and own their mistakes , rather choosing to tell their clients who have been stuffed around that they don’t like their tone. At no point did I swear or personally accuse the manager , i simply stated my frustration with the cost they cost my business and the poor way they handled a product that I still don’t have and lost a days labour and am still out of pocket to go buy the product from somewhere else to the value of $1300.

This is the third time this has happened to us over the last 2 years with returning nothing to Sydney tools , even when you call and organise it , when you get in store they change the rules and call head office ., their 10 days is a guideline even when they say it we take ten days after all the stuff around .

There is a Reason trades use BUNNINGS , they know how to look after a customer .

If you want to by power tools , avoid Sydney tools at all costs , until they change their returns and refund policy .

Follow-up  · No answers or resolution . Disappointed. I since had a cpi lazer le Er sent under a 12month warranty for repair or a swap out . It’s been two months . I have called the store in castle hill 3 times and visited once and asked . I am still waiting . They say it’s an in house repair . So why 2 months and why have a 12month warranty and a make me… Read more

LOOK FOR MITCHELL OF SYDNEY TOOLS – I bought over $2000 of gardening tools from Sydney Tools Brookvale. They promptly replaced the lawnmower when I returned it unused, possibly damaged in shipping. Tax Time Blitz NO BONUS Points - Faith Restored – I was interested in a welder. Their price was good, but a bit out of my budget. 2 days before EOFY they advertised on their website this product with a $200 Tax Time Blitz Bonus Points. Went to the Taren Point Store. Impressive Store. Bought the welder. Asked for the bonus points. They said NO. This item is not part of the bonus point offer.… Read more

Refused. Explained it was on their website. Refused. Went the website to get clarification. They said yes, its part of their EOFY promo. When I explained I had bought the item. They started with the information gathering. Said they will email me back. I'm not holding my breath.... Should have asked for the bonus points before the purchase. I won't be buying from them again. They are now on my BANNED Companies and Persons list. Help close down companies like this and stop buying from them, especially since there are honest and customer friendly businesses literally down the road. FAITH RESTORED - Renee | Online Customer Service - honored points but... to that in-store or over the phone purchase. I'm not holding my breath....

Just started our own carpentry business and have needed a lot of extra tools this last year. Have dealt with most of the guys there - all know their stuff and friendly. Had a few issues a few months back with a tool which wasn't good but Chris went above and beyond to get it sorted asap. The only tool shop in the area that we will shop at. Show details ·  1

Wanted to buy an EGO product. Sydney Tools website was showing as available but low in stock. Had no luck ringing shops showing it is available. Finally got Melih Asaroglu at Smithfield store who went out of his way to source the product for me. It's a pity that all Sydney Tools staff are not as customer oriented as Melih. Great service from him and much appreciated. Show details

Taking my business to Total Tools from now on after dreadful customer service experiences at Sydney Tools, Wollongong, NSW. Purchased a $20 ratchet set in their Black Friday sales, and returned it unopened and unused within 6 days to get store credit. My intention was to use the store credit to buy a more expensive ratchet. The sales rep made out… Read more

that it was impossible to refund, even after I pointed out that the original salesperson said I could do a change of mind if I didn't open or use the set. To quote the second rep's response, "Why didn't you point out to the first rep that we don't do refunds?"

So it's my fault that the first rep told me contradicting information?

My response, "Sorry, but why am I being held accountable for Sydney Tools delivering conflicting information?"

Gets even better, he replies back "He (the first rep) should know better. He's a manager. But we still can't do anything about it".

In the end, they agreed to do store credit. So I grab three tools that total $70.50, expecting to just pay $50.50 difference. $20 credit + $50.50 = $70.50. Pretty straight forward.

But no, they charged $70.50 to my card and told me I'll get a $20 credit to my store account in 2-3 days.

Even better, they rip up my origninal store receipt that I'm supposed to get the credit for. So if it doesn't land in my account I have no way to prove that. I guess I may have to rely on a bank charge back - what fun.

Disgraceful customer service and dishonest behaviour.

So long, Sydney Tools.

Customer Service, copied and forwarded purchase details - was told that the refund would have to be approved by Accounts and they can’t provide me with a direct contact number to that department. It’s bizarre that this company can change the price post purchase (which is poor retail behaviour) and now it’s up to me to jump through all their hoops to have my money returned. I have spent numerous thousands of dollars in Sydney Tools but this experience has made me avoid ever walking into one of their shops again. To the Sydney Tools person reviewing this post my Quote No. on this item is 41108954 - this is a large amount of money out of my working account that I need to operate. Hopeless company…..

then they palm you off to the store, who is very limited as to what they can offer. Which in result, you miss on the deal you should of got on the day of the sales. Head office just seem to brush their hands with it. There’s no real help on that side!

Best bet is to avoid Sydney tools, most other stores will price match - shop around!

Hesitate buying here... Check everything and make sure 120% it's a good item and won't need returning because returning with these people is painful and disrespectful. Still waiting 6 MONTHS LATER with no update after having to follow up myself. Waited for many months and still waiting on a return from Sydney tools to Abbott & Ashby who… Read more

constantly delay so they say... "We are still waiting on Abbott & Ashby", "We are still waiting on Abbott & Ashby".... The item returned was similar to this with the rotating belt sander attachment, the problem was the belt tensioning mechanism did not work and the whole linisher section did not tighten up sturdy enough to stop the belt from running off when the slightest bit of sideways force was applied which is unavoidable because even just turning an object would wobble the whole section causing the belt to run. The hopeless little knob they put on it to allow you to tighten this critical bolt is laughable, and one cannot even get their fingers hand in there. It should be a metal clamping lever style... Even that did not make it solid.

Seams like Sydney tools refuse to take responsibility for the item they are selling and something else is going on behind the curtain.

I have converted to going to Sydney Tools first for everything – I was hesitant to shop at Sydney Tools at first, I had formed the opinion that “they had the best tools but their prices were the highest” without actually much experience shopping there. A1 customer service – So many products and stock, store is easy to navigate. The reason for my review though is to say how great Chris is there. I sat with the boys on the worksite yesterday and Sydney tools came up in conversation, they have also had outstanding customer service with Chris. He is a standout. Lucky to have him, I know a few people around town that want him. Great store overall. Show details ·  1
