my laptop. Therefore my Tangerine account will be cancelled and i will need to try elsewhere. I was just about to sign my wife up with them but after this nightmare,no way.
Realyn answered my call, she was an absolute angel, whilst professional at all times she also showed compassion which was so greatly appreciated and made the process actually quite delightful.
The ‘shared number’ feature is mis advertised - for those intending to sign on to Tangerine for their ‘shared number’ feature, be aware there is a non transparent $10 extra cost per month that you’ll be asked to pay when you try to connect your smartwatch.

Excellent SIM-only mobile phone provider – I can't believe that no one has reviewed Tangerine Mobile yet. Two months ago I got a SIM from them and ported my number across to it. I'm on the 10GB per month plan. For under $20/month I get unlimited SMS, 1k MMS calls and unlimited Australia-wide phone calls. huge 500GB limit with no cutoff date. It's even possible to gift unused data to other Tangerine customers. I'm glad I made the change! NB: Tangerine offered me an incentive to write this review but I declined it.
Works great if you're in the right place and space. I took a leap of faith and moved from an Optus MVNO to a Telstra wholesale provider like Tangerine. away got best ever response but for where I live in Dandenong South, Vic it was third world nation status. I have since switched back to an Optus based provider and back to what I needed for hotspot and tethering needs. Also saves my battery heaps on an iPhone in terms of heat and battery drain being at full signal versus 2 bars at best. It really comes down to where you live in terms of usefulness of Tangerine. The plans and offerings are pretty good. When the portal works, you have a lot of options regarding turning on or off your voicemail, forwarding, changing plans, gifting data etc. They support LTE on my smartwatch which is also good. However, their account portal seems to be frequently down. Coverage isn't as good as Telstra directly as it's the Telstra wholesale network. Don’t bother you pay for something you don’t receive. Pay for the top mobile deal they have and max speed is supposed to be 250mbps and I’m lucky to even get 24mbps. all the same stuff as the first person I spoke with over a month ago and they then tried to say it was my device that’s the issue that their service but i had upgraded my phone to a brand new one within that month of waiting for a call so it’s not my device. Will be swapping to a company that actually values their customers and actually receive what I’m paying for.

Follow-up · The time frame of getting my SIM card was perfect in the end. Finished up with Optus the same day I started with Tangerine. So far I’m happy with the service, as it has only been a month.

best I could find. I'm yet to use the service, I'm looking forward to how it compares to my previous providers plan that almost halved the data per month with a price increase.
Follow-up · SIM activation was straight forward and I was online with my new Tangerine mobile data plan within 20 minutes. Was really pleased it worked in my existing nighthawk 5g wireless router without needing to change any settings. Data speeds vary during the day varying between 40 Mbps to an amazing 300 Mbps. Appalling customer service. Their direct debit setup doesn't work, then they send you overdue reminders & threats of excess charges for bills you've already paid (by having to log in manually). One cannot respond to any messages they send about… Read more
active cases, so have to keep opening a new case every time. Worst provider I've ever dealt with (was forced over to them from NuMobile who had been brilliant for 3 years)
Follow-up · The issue still hasn’t been resolved, despite multiple emails back & forward with a customer service representative. Tangerine are still trying to charge me overdue fees for their own direct debit system not working. And they’re increasing the monthly cost too. Not a provider to waste time & money with. Oh yeah - voicemail doesn’t work half the time either.

Whilst the mobile connection is ok the customer service side is woeful. Lodged a complaint and they took over the required time they state to address it. Was with tangerine for 5 months. I selected them for the Smart Watch esim addon they offer. This addon would only work for 1 to 2 days, then the watch would need to be factory reset to get it to work again. I was advised that this was due to Telstra, the Wholesaler. it's entirely possible that any such problem will BE with that Phone Service???
Or maybe that's just me? Maybe other people ring their Telco, when their Oven stops working?
So, I need to contact my Mobile Phone service provider, because my Mobile Phone service isn't working. Makes sense? But with Tangerine, I can't contact even the most basic level of customer service, without my Mobile Service Working.
But not to worry, just when you think they couldn't get any stupider, they somehow manage. Their solution? They'll allow me to use somebody else's phone number to gain access to my account.
Yes, that's right, if you want to get access to ANYBODY's Tangerine Account, all you need is their name, phone number, dob, and ANY working phone number.
