we could receive broadband, Tangerine made all the arrangements for this to happen and we didn't have to lift a finger. Now that we have the service up and running we are getting better speeds and also better Wifi reception throughout the house than we were getting with the previous well known provider. Tangerine is also $10 cheaper than our previous provider. Would definitely recommend Tangerine to anybody wanting to get hooked up to the NBN!
So far very reliable! Would definitely recommend – I have been using Tangerine since Tuesday and may I say so far it is very reliable. I was slightly hesitant on the first day of using it because at 5pm it started to become a bit slow.. but for maybe 30 seconds and then it was back to its normal speed and I have not had a problem since. sign-up process was painless, and the new Fritz!box modem arrived by post in three days. Not bad for a regional town. There was no information provided with the modem, other than the manufacturer's manual, however this wasn't a problem. I plugged in the phone plug cord and power, and it fired up straight out of the box. Obviously all of the modem configuration had been done by Tangerine.
The data speed is as expected for ADSL (and predicted by NBN/Tangerine) at about 21 Mbps.
A few days down the track and all is good. All wifi, computer and Smart TV devices have connected to the modem without any hassles. I haven't needed to contact Tangerine. Its all just worked.
Highly recommended, and at a reasonable price.

Fast response – I selected the plan from Tangerine web site on Friday afternoon and put in the commercement date to be next Monday. I thought Tangerine will confirm me a later date on Monday. Didn't expect Tangerine can provide me the login and password and allow me to enjoy the broadband on Monday night. ADSL service, don't even consider. Look elsewhere – We signed up with them over 2 years ago when I moved to Meadowbank, NSW. The only available service is ADSL for our address. family wasn't. I've never seen my little boy (aged 5) so frustrated over watching a YouTube video load so slowly. Even with playback settings adjusted at the lowest 144p resolution, it still buffers a lot or often stalls. No other devices connected to the router; my wife and I both have our own 4G connections in use at home because Tangerine's connection is simply terrible.
I quit online gaming because I often get disconnected (direct Ethernet cable connection to the router). When we watch Netflix or other streaming services at home, we tether our smart TV to our phone's hotspot connection. Have I contacted their technical support? Yes, during initial setup and once when I got really frustrated about frequent disconnections several months in. (I am an IT professional and can resolve most technical issues on my own.) The one time I asked them for help, the only fixes they gave me are those I've already done before calling them. They didn't even offer to remote in and fix the router settings themselves. In the end, they blamed the connection issues on the phone lines. Nothing they can do about it, Telstra yada yada. No assurance that they will fix it, run tests, upgrade the firmware on the router, provide alternative DNS addresses, nothing of that sort. I resigned myself to moving to another place or wait for NBN to be available at our address after seeing the negative reviews on other ADSL providers.
Today, 31 July 2019, is when I'm finally free from this awful experience. If you live in or around Ryde, NSW, go look elsewhere. They're only quick when signing you up and taking your money. They are slow as molasses anywhere else.
If I could give them a negative score or zero stars, I would.
ADSL speeds have really slowed down – Over the last couple of months, the ADSL speeds have dropped to around 2 mbps. This is true regardless of the day of the week/time of day. Technical service's solution was to reset router, which I had already done. I'll probably stick with Tangerine for now because it appears to be the best of bad options, but I look forward to dropping them the moment a better choice arrives. Show details

connection and when I complained about the slowness, they state they are using Telstra network so no matter whichever service I use, I would get the same speed. Liars.
Problem starts within a few days of the connection wherein connection is continuously dropped or disconnected. Upon complaining they asked me to validate with another modem or check with a handset. Hello!! this was never the requirement that I should have an additional modem and a handset. Otherwise they cant solve the problem and they will send a Telstra technician after a few days. All this while you will have no internet connection. In addition Incorrect callout charges 140 AUD+ for you. If you dont know to fix your network issues, they will charge you for being ignorant about the problem affecting you. Welcome to Tangerine!!!.
Customer Service sucks, they work only working time hours (try to spend time calling their perennially clogged customer care number from a busy work). In the end you will get the same old parroted stories, we can only raise a ticket to Telstra to fix and cant do anything beyond it. I didnt choose Telstra, Tangerine chose Telstra and it is Tangerine's responsibility to fix issues.
After lot of complaining they said I need to change modem. I changed modem and they fixed something and it worked for a week. And the problem started occurring again. I just switched back to my original modem and I was back on-line. So much for their expertise at fixing issues. I now have two modems for no fault of mine that are perfectly working but an inefficient internet service provider.
A month later, same problem occurs. This time they say it is internal wiring issue. I asked how confident are you. They say we are sure. Telstra technician comes and looks around and states, nothing wrong with network it is internal wiring problem. 2 days later without doing anything I have internet connection back online.
These guys have no freaking clue what is wrong and they will keep charging you for no connections and additionally charge you for getting Telstra technicians to have a look (not solve) at the problem.
I still have erratic connection and I complained to their so called Account Managers. Big Mistake. These people are same as technical people parroting the same reply. We will raise an incident with Telstra and they will charge you for incorrect call out. What rubbish!!! These guys know only to charge you and not solve any problem. I explain all the problems that I faced from the beginning and they curtly state you are not on a contract with us, you can go with any other provider anytime you like.
Why did they lie to me in the first place? Are you going to refund the connection charges and not being in contract charges? Are you going to refund for the additional modem that I had to buy? Are you going to refund me for the time lost in chasing your customer care to fix the connection issues? Are you going to compensate me for the pain of being your customer?
They cannot provide decent stable internet connection
They do not have customer service beyond office working hours
They cannot provide good internet speed.
They cannot solve any connection problems if you have.
They will charge you for providing an erratic and medium internet connection
They will charge you to fix your connection problem
They will ask you to disconnect if you keep complaining (Basically tell you to get lost if you are not on contract)
They will ask you to get an additional modem to solve your connection problem irrespective of it fixing your problem or not.
They will ask you to get a handset to check if the phone line has a problem. Who uses landline in this age of mobile networks?
Really pathetic customer service and problem resolution.
Do NOT go by all the positive reviews put in here. It seems to be a scam from my experience.

Over Charged on Plan – The ADSL Plan was $69 with phone bundle looked at my statement they charge $74 log in details to home page never worked properly, and speed is the same as everyone else it all depends on your location more than your provider. Disappointed!!! – Connection is not reliable, we've been experiencing dropouts since switching to Tangerine less than a month ago. From paying $58.90 a month with Dodo to $78.90 a month with Tangerine. problem didn't have the tool and it would be the next week until I would have internet service. This was now in November. The next week it was fixed. I now have Tangerine billing me for October and I did not have service during October. They want me to pay for a month of service that I didn't have because it was potentially ready to be hooked up from their end and they say that they called me to try it to see if it worked but could not reach me so I have to pay them because they tried to call me, not to mention that I had to prepaid for the first month's service in advance when I bought the modem out right. So what happened to that money? If I had arrived home in early November and the internet had worked, then fair enough I would pay, but when it wasn't working and it wasn't my fault and I still had to call several times and wait for days for it to be working, NO, I shouldn't be paying for the previous month when there was not internet access at my house.
