Telechoice are pathetic. They decline existing customers for mobile plans despite having good credit, an account that's always been in credit, and a capacity to pay your account yet they approve scum who are constantly behind on their bills. If you want a company that values their customers then Telechoice is not the company you should be going with Show details
charged for global roaming never got the service this is 3years in a row contacted customer service they could not care less.been with them 15 years no more went to tpg Show details
Have been with TC many many years but recently not only has customer service been slacking, i got no communication about a phone plan amount increasing - like other users have said. They seem to also be hard to get a hold of as I am based out of WA - despite contacting within stated hours. Thinking about moving to a generic Telco now or somewhere like belong/circles/felix/aldi mobile. Show details

Misleading scam text message plan offer – I’ve been using telechoice since 2015. Last year I received a short text message offer of mobile plan with 6GB data and Unlimited international calls for $25 dollars. I replied yes and this year I found out that my direct debit account has been withdrawn over $900 dollars without me checking the savings account. Apparently the plan didn’t include… Read more
the international calls and the abbreviated text message offer had misled me to interpret that it did include the unlimited calls. After making a dispute and three months of back and forth they offered me no compensation for the unauthorised charge for the international calls, and I was told that it was 100% my fault that had happened. Terrible customer experience. I hope no one else is scammed like I was. Also the customer service and manager could barely speak English. Communication was difficult. They clearly don’t care about their customers, my experience responds well to all the bad reviews.

Efficient customer service – I have had a mobile service plan for a few years now with TeleChoice. In the past week I have had to request support twice troubleshooting my voice mail and text messages. Found them to be very helpful and they fixed the problem immediately. Show details
I was offline for a whole week – I signed in with Telechoice and activated my SIM, and I noticed i am offline, I checked phone and mobile data settings, I waited , and for 1 week i was offline, everywhere I go from Sydney CBD to Sydney Olympic Park , I was offline. It was a mess, because I was moving home, My wifi has not startted yet in the new place, I had no access to… Read more · 1
internet. I had to move out to another provider after one week only. Telechoice used to be good, I was with them onece before, it seems they moved to a less effective network.
Update: based on the previous review, my original review was 1 star, now, we have telechoice for my son's mobile, and the coverage in Sydney is very good, So, i thought I need to update my review.
Reception Issues – I have been with Telechoice only for a short while but I am impressed so far. I was with another sim only company and was having trouible with reception after work was done on their towers in my area. Still having reception issues but because Telechoice has WIFI Calling the problem has been solved. Show details

Just dreadful. Patchy coverage and I signed up for 100 mins of international phone calls , which was reduced after I signed up (without telling me) to 60 minutes. The calls were unintelligible , massive delays (latency) and you just couldn't understand the person on the other end. All calls to customer service were long waits, staff just wanted to… Read more
upsell and didn't have the brains to understand the problem. This provider should be banned from ripping off customers. Offering a service that they don't deliver should be illegal.
overpriced, understaffed, do not seem to understand account balances, continual drop outs all round crap service, 3 cases directly affected us, (1) my partner, went overseas took roaming with tele choice, did not come on till 2 days before they came home, then took extra payment of $199.00 for same product, where assured would be credited was not… Read more
instead phone account closed until we paid out standing account of $36.00, they owe us $199.00 Plus, (2) My Grandson took on telechoice at my recommendation, recived it 2 weeks Later, guess what, no coverage in area where he lives not only could they not help him, he specifically asked if he could get coverage and was informed YES, so their Liars as well, (3) my phone despite being 2 months in front, they sent me a notice of intent to disconnect, also refused to allow a purchase of $15.00 Sim card when asked to speak to accounts, they told me they were in Philippines and refused to supply number. I have since had a further payment taken from my account. I am referring the matter to all relevant Australian Authorities. Strongly recommend that any Australian Citizens, offered this product, run in the opposite direction, and that the company go back to the Philippines until they learn how to run accounts, customer service, and act with some integrity towards their clients.
total waste of several hours – SIM card was unusable, chatbot person was friendly but unsuccessful in this instance. several emails sent to company via their portal have been unanswered. Finally threw the SIM card in the trash and got another one from Telstra directly. Show details

Pay for a month, get less than a month – I arranged to have my service disconnected halfway through the billing period. The company invoices you halfway through the billing period. in my case the billing period started on 12 November and they were going to bill me on 28 November. I cancelled my service on 22nd of November And instead of closing the service on 11 December and allowing me… Read more
to use the service up to that date, they cancelled the service right there and then and then they are still going to extract money out of my account on 28 November. All because it’s too inconvenient for them to cancel the service at the end of the billing period, just ridiculous.
FRUSTRATING – direct debit paynent was not processed. Tried ringing the support number given. No luck. It kept on disconnecting. Went to the chat line. 11th in line. Waited...waited... waited.... got down to 1st in line...then DISCONNECTED! Show details
Needs more self-serve waste of time to call for simple things like plan change – Good price for Telstra network. Yet, needs to invest in self-serve. Changing a plan requires to call in, wait for 15-20 and go through useless amount of questions to do a simple plan change. This needs to be better and faster. Online this should take less then 1 min. Waste of my time and costly for you even though your call centre is offshore. Show details

Difficult to activate – Brought a prepaid plan for mom and it’s was a pain to activate the sim card, it won’t tell you which step in verification rejects so after hours of trying and a call to the customer support, it was the address that i put in and selected from menu that failed to pass through, overall just not very user friendly Show details
Dont get this ever – Really difficult process to activate the sim card. It took so much time, and complains .. we lost the money. They dont even have a professional way of explaning how to activate the sim card. Everything is terrible. Dont waste your money and time with this brand. Show details
Poor customer service – Customer service support is rude and not helping. They charged me twice and blame me that it’s my fault. Asked for the manager/supervisor but apparently they are all “engaged” and they will call back which never happened. Now I have to wait for an “investigation”. Who knows now if they will give my money back. Used to be good and it’s the cheapest in the market but be wary. Show details
Poor customer service from TeleChoice – I purchased a magnetic closure leather phone case from TeleChoice in Wollongong Central only to find that the magnet was not strong enough to close the case effectively. I returned to the kiosk the next day to request a refund. The sales assistant called his manager regarding my issue however my refund request was declined. I believe that if a… Read more
product does not work as it should, then a refund should be provided. I will not use this store ever again.
Used to be good, not anymore – They used to be a good provider but their customer service is tribble now. Very difficult to get a refund if they make a mistake on your account. Not recommended anymore Show details
Avoid Telechoice: we purchased pre-paid $50 and it doesn't work, they won't provide refund – We purchased $50 pre-paid data on the 5th of July. We have used Telechoice pre-paid before. We purchased it on a mobile phone, for a Telechoice SIM that was already in the phone. The data never worked. We didn't receive it. We cannot receive calls. We cannot make calls. We cannot text. I called on the 5th to ask about this but they said it would… Read more
work "soon", so I thought I would wait 24 hours.
Again on the 6th of July I called Telechoice- it still didn't work. They went through exactly the same questions with me. They didn't seem to have any understanding of what I was saying, or how it all works - for example, I kept saying "the phone does not have a network" (therefore, it cannot receive calls or make calls) - it is "SOS" - but they didn't understand this. In reply, they would say - "we will call you tomorrow after we check technical services" (obviously, you cannot call a phone that does not have a functioning network). Or they would say - "Call us tomorrow" (on what phone???) I think the people who answer your phone are working off a script and have zero clue what is going on.
(BTW, they never called me).
They also don't keep notes of previous calls. For example- I called again on the 7th and they went through the EXACT same questions and kept telling me to "wait 24-48 hours". By the 7th, it was my third phone call (this takes approximately 40 minutes each time), and feeling very frustrated because of the "speaking to a script" thing.
I continually asked for a refund, because under consumer law in Australia, you can ask for a refund for products that don't work or aren't provided. In this case, the data wasn't actually provided. They would see this for themselves, that the data has not been used.
Therefore, we paid $50 for Telechoice prepaid that was not provided. Please avoid.
My international Roaming was useless - not impressed at all and cust service below average – Paid $49 per week for international roaming - it only worked partially for the 1st week and the 2nd week i couldn't make calls, get emails, or texts I really needed to have access to all of this and I paid for it Rang telechoice upon arrival back to australia as I got no response from the email i sent from overseas from boyfriends phone - Customer… Read more
service promised someone will get back to me with 24-48hr, now another week or two later I have heard nothing I ring them again today and same crap - not impressed - so they ripped me off basically 3 x $49 for an international roaming service that didnt work They seem to have no regard for their customers concerns and cannot give a date that their head office can respond to them so they can email me What a crap show. Honestly I have been with this provider for so many years and never any issues until now I have recommended and referred many people to Telechoice - wont be doing that again - HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED and feeling RIPPED OFF!!!!!
Love the Business service – At work we moved from Telstra to Telechoice to save money and have been stunned at how good it has been. The customer service/support from Vi and the business team has been stellar, just miles easier to get things done than with Telstra. The plans are well priced and we haven't had issues with network coverage. That said, most of us are based in… Read more
metro areas, so if you're regional your mileage may vary.
But if you're looking to save money at work, or just sick of dealing with Telstra/Optus etc, I'd highly recommend giving at Telechoice a go on at least one mobile and seeing how it works for you.
Great Choice – I have been with TeleChoice for a few years now with my personal phone and kids phones, the prices are great, they have phone support and I get unlimited calls to 20 countries on the $28 plan. I think its great value and great service

Excellent value for money – Me and my partner have been with telechoice for few years now. Could not be happier! They use telstra network which I cannot complain. I get decent amount of data for a very good price. Show details
worst network coverage – Not reliable of network coverage, worst network. Never use mobile service with this provider again. Unable to access internet when I am outside on the road having to depend on mobile data mainly. the worst mobile plan ever with worst internet/mobile data with no reception/signal/network coverage most of the time for me.
decommissioning of plan – I was a very happy Telechoice customer for over 6 years until they notified me that my wife and my plan was to be decommissioned on 31st March 2022. Our plan included $1000 of international calls and on 30th March we made our final calls to relatives overseas as the new plan had high tariffs for international calls. To my surprise Telechoice… Read more
decided to decommission our plan a day early and we were charged over $460 for the calls. Telechoice admitted the error and offered $100 off the bill. After the telecommunications Ombudsman was involved they offered $200 then 50% off the bill. They made the mistake but are not prepared to waive the fees. Still with the Ombudsman. Poor effort from Telechoice's side.
Network issues – My partner and I have been customers for years, recently we have notice a significant reduction in network quality, looking to jump ship and can't recommend, similar issues noted below Show details
Terrible Sales staff customer service – I won’t ever recommend Telechoice ever again as I rang yesterday to ask your sales team questions about the service prior to making a decision. be put on hold 3 times between the 2 calls as your sales staff don’t know their products well. I also mentioned that I wanted the least disruption possible and was going to go to the store at Annerley today to sign up and get sim your sales person did not correct me on this and went to the store Saturday morning to find the store closed there are no trading hours on your website for stores and no other stores in the Brisbane metropolitan area. I rang back your sales sales team shortly after going to the store they have no idea how far away the next closest stores are one on the Gold Coast and one heading to the Sunshine Coast absolute stupidity. They they tried to push out the drawn out sending a sim then wait for approval then wait for my number to be ported across from Telstra not the disruption I wanted as next bill from Telstra I’d due on the 13th. Telechoice need to publicly up their act on customer service and transparency of information on your website.
Now I have to go through a disruptive process with C Mobile to get a sim sent out for roughly the same plan but for less and less crap from a website that can’t display store trading hours and sales staff that don’t know their products well and distances between stores.
Network not good – Before using the Telechoice network, I used Vodafone, thinking it would be good to go to remote areas because its network is Telstra. But with only 5 months of use, I am completely disappointed, sending photo messages and not receiving yes, can't use the map sometimes. I changed to optus network and it was fine and fined $266.29 (i pay $28/month). Don't use Telechoice, network not good Show details
Their service doesn’t work! – My phone hasn’t been working for almost a week. They said they are checking with provider but doesn’t get back to me! When I call the customer service is very rude too! Disgusting company disgusting people working there.
Reception going down going down bad bad – Constantly dropping out in certain areas, cannot have a coversation more than 30 seconds without it dropping out Absolutely horrible reception and internet, have had 5 phones with them and now moving elsewhere, you get what you pay for, never ever again. its value of money – Telechoice plans on telstra are value for money for sure. service and sales are pretty easy. buy from a telechoice store rather than online if you have one near. franchises are very helpful. mostly owner operated, so you will be helping them too. Moved to southern Tasmania and needed a Telstra reseller ... am putting second phone on today – When I moved to the far south of Tasmania four years ago my capital city carrier was useless. My tradies said to use Telstra. However, their plans are a bit 'rich' so I searched for a reseller. Telechoice seemed to fit my needs and while I had an initial problem with the bands available locally, when I used a slightly more modern mobile (only 2… Read more
years old, not 3 years) everything worked. The help desk, while working from a 'canned' guide, did ultimately suggest using another phone to see if it worked. It did! So I used the wife's until we replaced both phones a couple of months ago so we could run the national and state based COVID apps. I am on an old plan of $16 per month and am about to put the wife, whose overseas people can now all be contacted via VOIP (hence removing requirement for an included overseas call facility), on the new base plan of $19.
Joined years ago and never looked back – These guys are amazing, I live in the country and have travelled into many regional areas and have no issues with service. I also get a message almost every year telling me they have automatically upgraded my data plan for free (which is my reason for this review today). It's also very cheap. I recommend them to everyone. Show details
Very disappointing – Price is good and they give lots of data but they only use a small percentage of the telstra towers so coverage rarely goes over a couple of bars, i live less than 2ks to the nearest shopping hub in the second biggest town in Victoria and cant get coverage in my own home.
