I have purchased before and while the delivery has been slow I am really disappointed this time. I placed my order mid January and have now received two different refunds. The company has not even advised what part of my tulip order has been cancelled just received a paypal credit. Its April, my opportunity to buy really nice colour bulbs has… Read more

passed. Just now have standard bulbs i could have purchased at bunnings. Would not recommend this company. I will go back to my previous bulb company in Tasmania when orders arrived on time.

I bought a bunch of perennials (3 times within 6 weeks) and all arrived very healthy. While the plant size is smaller than what you would pay at a nursery (and realistically, I think you have to expect it for plants sent via mail), they all had strong root balls and not one of the plants failed to grow. My preference will always be to go to a… Read more

Waited 8 weeks for bulbs, half the order arrived, the other half are on back order. Some of the bulbs that arrived have mould and soft to touch. Plants arrived in a sad state and one with no leaves. Multiple emails have been fobbed off with flippant responses. The final email I sent told me that it should be okay. But will never buy again from… Read more

them. Money back guarantee is worthless. Avoid! I am looking into better options.

UPDATE - after a number of emails, Tesselaar finally provided a refund. Not the first time we got mouldy bulbs so after this experience, we will never use this company again.

Amazing Bare Root Strawberries – Absolutely amazing bare root strawberries!! If they take some time to arrive it’s only because they come extremely fresh, so there’s less time between when they harvest and when you plant. I’ve planted over 200 and every single one has taken very quickly and sprouted new growth, some in as little as a day. Would recommend!

All plants arrived dead, yellow or below satisfactory condition – Honestly, this has to be a joke! I bought these plants and they are in terrible condition. They look like they should be thrown in the bin. By the time I spend all my time and energy trying to limp these along, it will be months!!! Not worth the time and effort. Just go to Bunnings.

Extremely unhealthy plants!! – I recently ordered two nemesias from Tesselaar and the plants I received were really unhealthy! They were infected with thrips and the leaves and the stems crumbled away at touch! It could be seen that most of the stems have been chopped off before being sent! I have placed orders at other competitors and only have received really healthy plants so far. Absolutely disappointed!

I'd recommend – I have been buying for years, some successful some not. But they have always replaced poor quality or dead plants delivered through slow Australia Post. Our climate doesn't suit certain plants and bulbs. We get too hot. I have alot in pots because previous years the bulbs didn't survive. They are also great with help. I'm in Adelaide.

Lovely plant – I spent the last few days reading the reviews and regretting my purchase of a lovely double fuchsia. I expected to find a half dead plant when I opened the box this morning I was so pleasantly surprised. Yes the plant needed a good drink (totally acceptable after being in box and travelling from Melbourne to Sydney) but apart from that she is a lovely little plant. Can’t wait for her to flower.

Dahlias – Ordered and delivery was good, no issues. Dahlia tubers are small but excellently labelled well, I ordered 10 tubers, when received looked dried out and a bit sad, no eyes visible which is hard when planting, the tubers should be sprouting by now, but I do know that dahlias can flower ausome even though tubers look the way they did. But you never… Read more

know, I did spend $100 including delivery, around $13.50 each tuber, good price. Looking forward to flowers.

I’ve been a regular customer and have bought many bulbs from Tesselaar. Last year, I spent over $500 mainly on peony rhizomes. Some came up in the first year, but now in the second year, most of them haven’t come up last year still show no life this second year while all my peonies from other nurseries planted in the same soil are growing . When… Read more

I contacted Tesselaar, they simply blamed my soil, without offering real support or taking any responsibility. It’s extremely frustrating to spend so much money and time and get such poor results and customer service.

To be fair, their lily bulbs were great. But when it comes to peonies, I would strongly advise others to be careful. If your plants don’t come up, don’t expect help or refund . 1 or 2 it okay but over 20 not come up that is very poor quality. Very disappointing experience overall.

Good range but the product odered is often different to what gets delivered – I've bought a lot of things from Tesselar. A few pieces of feedback: - They have a good range of products and always have new things coming which I love looking at - When I've purchased from them I've had a few issues with plant quality but they are good at replacing when you call them - The main issue I've had with them is that the product is… Read more

often not what I've purchased, usually the wrong colour, I'm sure they'd replace it if I raised a concern however these are plants I've often planted and invested in growing and when you find out it's not what you purchased it's very dissapointing. This is the main reason I don't purchase much from them anymore.

Took a long time to arrive – I had not ordered from Tesselar for a long time and they gave me " free delivery" and I ordered Strawbwrries, Gladies and a couple of Citrus. The plants where well packaged. The Gladie bulbs are excellet and clean, the Strawberriews are OK, a couple of runners are dead, the others will probably survive, the citrus are OK - they will need a lot… Read more

TLC. I'm in Qld and the delivery distance maybe to long? I give them the benefit of the doubt - this time.

Paid top price but received a half dead plant – My plant arrived today looking like it will be dead in a few week’s time. Half the leaves have dropped off and the rest are yellow and diseased looking. The plant itself was even covered partially in sticky tape to secure it! Won’t purchase again from them

After sale service is excellent – This company replies quickly, is fair and reasonable and very understanding. I recently bought some Dahlia tubers which were decorative yet as they flowered they were actually single petal shaped ( not what was advertised). The company asked me to wait until the second flush and reassess which I was happy to do as a bit of an experiment. In the… Read more

end several kept poor form but some righted themselves naturally. Without question when I wanted to finalise the matter I was reimbursed for the four that were not true to form. I highly recommend this company. People should document, take photos and be confident that they do guarantee their products provided the customer is also being fair and reasonable.

Sent me soft dahlia bulbs – I made a bulk order of dahlia bulbs last Spring. All the bulbs I was sent were soft and malleable. They didn't look healthy. They still grew, but by this Spring the bulbs have rotted away.

BAD EXPERIENCE VIA THEIR COMPETITION – I took part in a Tesselaar competition offering 2 x free tickets for their Tulip Festival. I was very happy when announced I was one of the winners. However, they asked me to deal with INTIX which is a company that sells tickets - a kind of a broker. Well, it was impossible to log in and, I had no proper assistance by either Tesselaar or Alex… Read more

Grant from Intix. Very disappointing to say the least. Please do not run competitions which make it impossible to actually get the given prize. We already had various bad experiences with competitions and brokers - hence, you can keep the entrance tickets as we were mistreated to say the least.

Expensive and not worth a visit – If one has seen tulips galore as well as other many bulb flowers in Australia and abroad - well, Tesselaar charges a lot for an entrance fee while the place is just another $$ trap. From Kakbloom to the so called Tulip Festival : expensive and disappointing. No proper access for people who have a walking stick and/or a wheelchair. Plenty of… Read more

great product horrible service and communication – the order arrived relatively fast and the product looks great. communication and service was bad and disappointing sadly 1/3 of the order was cancelled due to their stock issues. the company did not contact me to discuss a replacement product, refused to add a replacement product to the order (fair enough as was already packed) , but then … Read more

refused to waive the shipping cost on the potential replacement product in a separate order. I will sadly not order from this company again nor would I recommend anyone buying from them

Great healthy plants – Not sure why the middling reviews as I have bought 3 times from them now and the plants have been really healthy and well packed. They are slow, but the quality and size of the plants is great.

VERY DISAPPOINTED – Very disappointed very poor communication skills after waiting ages for the company to send the plants they don’t advise that one of the plants you have ordered will not be sent due to the fact that they have sold out. But when the other plants that you have ordered arrive they don’t show that item was out of stock but item still charged for the plant you don’t receive

Poor delivery on a perishable product – Ordered over $200 worth of bulbs and was very disappointed in the service as the order took a month to be delivered. Such an excellent company – Ordered some roses and climbers then realised that I could have had a discount if I had of put in a code with my order. Sent them an email and they gave me the discount straight away and refunded the money back into our account. Couldn't be more happy with them.

Don’t buy plant from Tesselaars – I received a Clematis Jackmanii in a dormant state, it was the size of a pin 2cm tall and was the thickness of a tooth pick. Paid $25.50 plus shared postage of $4.00 = $29.50 this is the most expensive little stick ever, it cam planted in a 10cm pot we examined the root there were two roots 3 cm long, it would fit in a 1 cm pot I doubt very much… Read more

it will live through winter. But the worst was to come, staff informed me this plant is always that size , well this makes it the biggest ( smallest ) ripoff in the plant World. I’ve been a customer for 43 years and that was my thank you from Tesselaar’s Well good bye to you.

Big anemone bulbs – The anemone bulbs I received from Tesselaar were significantly bigger than those I received from its major competitor in the preceding week. Yes, they were slightly more expensive, but ut's well known that bigger bulbs (in good condition, as the Tesselaar bulbs were) yield better flowers.

Bulbs were good quality and unsatisfactory ones were quickly replaced – Ordered some hyacinth and tulip bulbs this year from Tesseler's for the first time. A big advantage of online suppliers is the numerous varieties that are available and the prices are okay despite the added cost of delivery. Most of the bulbs were of good quality and the couple which were soft and felt a bit old were replaced quite promptly without any fuss.

Amazing – I don’t usually write reviews but this time I just have too. This was my second order of Oriental Lilies which are now flowering beautifully and it is a thrill going out into the garden each morning to see another lily which has opened up overnight. The biggest thrill was seeing the Sumo Oriental Lillies up, they are truely amazing and beautiful. Great service and bulbs and plants arrive in great condition. Thank you Tesselaars.

Very poor customer service if you happen to live in WA – Unfortunately I've had two very poor identical experiences with this company. ordered are no longer available ( despite calling several days after placing the order to check that stock has indeed been set aside to fill the order). Extremely disappointing, very poor customer service when calling to complain. Had identical problem last year; clearly they don't listen to customer feedback and use that feedback to improve service standards.
