After being assessed for the best shoe for my flat feet, the sales rep at the Hurstville store recommended me "the best" shoe that came in my large size. After several months of wearing them and hoping it would get better, my left foot has severe damage and have seeked treatment from a podiatrist. I have never had ANY problems wearing any type of shoes in 30+ years and this is the most expensive pair I bought and will forever regret my decision. When I provided feedback to Athlete's foot online team, they kept saying there was nothing they can ...do. It is so disgraceful and if I hadn't trusted the recommendation of the salesman, I would have returned the shoes within 30 days. Very disappointed that I waited as I thought it would take a little while longer for my feet to adjust to "proper" walking shoes.
Brilliant Service at Shepparton.
I was more than impressed with the young assistant who served me today. Brandi (from the Shepparton store). Not only was she patient and helpful but most professional and friendly.

Shoes not fit for purpose
Have never bought general walking/sports shoes from anywhere other than a supermarket or sports store until my last pair from TAF Warringah Mall. Nor have I paid such big money for shoes of that type. I thought I got good service until I found the shoes and size recommended caused me so many blisters while on my holidays I had to stop wearing them. I was doing no more walking daily than on my holiday the year before of similar duration with a different pair of shoes. This was after a visit to the shop twice and being put on their foot analysis ...machine. Never had blisters with sports shoes before. The shoe was a larger size than any before which I queried but was told it was the correct size. After returning home and my feet recovered I tried wearing again but could tell the same problem would occur if wearing them a few days in a row and walking a few kms. I went back to the shop with the shoes and showed them a photo of my blisters and was told the 30 days fit warranty was up and could not do anything. I contacted customer service by email and received a prompt reply that it would be referred to relevant person. Got no reply, except an automated follow up on my satisfaction of outcome. I replied that I had not been contacted, still have not got a reply 2 weeks later. Save yourself the hassle, choose your own shoes and no need to pay high price for big name brands from a specialist store. I will never buy from TAF again.
Two different styles and sized shoes in box!!!
I purchased what I thought was a pair of size 9 school shoes for my 15 year old. When we went to the podiatrist he noticed the shoes were a different size and style!!! When I tried to exchange them the West lakes South Australia shop sales person James, wanted to charge me for a new pair because it had been more than a month since purchase! After insulting me, I spoke to the manager Jordan who understood and agreed to replace the shoes as an exchange. James used insulting verbal and non verbal language which is really poor customer sales service.
Scam at Athletes Foot
Bought shoes from the Blacktown Store on 01/09/2019, paid with Visa gift cards. Shop assistant Scanned the gifts cards multiple times and said they are all declined. Unknown to us at that time was some of the payment went though which the store or the Customer Service is denying liability. These a Visa gift cards. The attitude of the Customer Service team is pathetic. Not sure who owns this chain by they are a scam as it is 8 days since I have complained and produced multiple documents.
The very best customer service
Today I experienced the very best customer service at The Athlete’s Foot shop at St Ives, Sydney. I had purchased a pair of running shoes from them a few weeks back but on wearing them a couple of times found them to be a size too big. I returned to the shop and without any fuss, the shoes were replaced with a pair a size smaller. The new shoes feel so good and I am so happy and appreciate and thank them so much.
The Athletes Foot, Eastland, Ringwood, VIC
Very Disappointed! I won’t be buying from them again!
I have been a customer of The Athletes Foot for over 20 years, firstly at the Knox Store in Wantirna South for about 12 years and then the Ringwood Store at Eastland Victoria for the last 8 years. I have mainly purchased Rockport Men’s World Tour (WT) Classic Shoes, Colour Black Tumbled and used to get 5 years out those shoes which were made in the USA. The shoes I purchased from Eastland, Ringwood were made in INDIA, VIETNAM and CHINA. I chose these shoes as very few others are deep eno...ugh to support orthotic inserts. About 3 years ago, I purchased a pair of Rockport Men’s World Tour Classic Shoes (WT CLASSIC K71185). Colour Black NOIR, Tumbled made in INDIA and about a week or so after that, I purchased another pair, but in Chocolate (WT CLASSIC K52343) made in VIETNAM. Another year later, I purchased a pair of Allander Black Shoes, (Code K70975) made in China. I now had 3 pairs, which I wore alternately. The WT CLASSIC K71185 style shoes that were 3 years old developed a large bubble under the left sole. The shoes were still in fairly good condition and the soles had a lot of wear left in them, so I took the shoes back to the Ringwood store and left them there for the problem to be investigated as the staff thought it rather strange also. About a week later, I received a phone call from the store saying they had sent a photograph of the shoes off and the result was that they weren’t prepared to do anything. I didn’t expect that they would replace the shoes, because of their age, but thought they might have offered a replacement pair at a fair and reasonable discount, considering the circumstances. I was very disappointed in their response, especially given the years I have been a loyal customer and the reasonable condition of the shoes. I decided to contact Rockport directly and their comment was that they could not get involved in the store’s decision. I was even willing to send the shoes back at my cost so that they could be pulled apart for inspection to find out why the left shoe had developed a large bubble. The shoe’s sole had no cuts or holes in them, but they were not interested at all!
Very bad customer service by the store manager in parramatta store don’t even deserve one star
I ordered a shoes from Paraamatta store a week after I received a phone call from the manager ready for pick up I went to pick shoes was damage wasn’t check before calling customer then the manager promised me will order new one from supplier but I have to wait another week again no one called me I called a week after I was told the shoes arrived went to pick up DAMAGE shoes AGAIN wasn’t checked AGAIN waste it my time going to the shop tow times manager said not its fault don’t care?
I paid full price $169 for DAMAGE SHOES
Called head office spoke to Sophie said they franchise and she didn’t care
or do any thing about it I will never purchase any thing from them again
Wish I could give Zero
Found a great pair of narrow athletic sandals online that never arrived, due to the courier's incompetence. AF's customer service dept seem to not care, though at least they seem to be aware they legally they are obliged to give a refund. (Nothing more to compensate me the stress or disappointment that those shoes are no longer available, mind you. That would be too much like, idk, a customer service rep DOING THEIR JOB.) AF take no responsibility for partnering with such a disreputable courier. I'm bummed about the shoes but the money was probably better spent anyway. I guess it could have been worse, they could have refused to give my money back. (Which I haven't got back yet.)
Return Policy problem
My wife and I have recently had a very frustrating time with The Athletes Foot. We purchased some sneakers online, apparently we ordered the 'long toe' version of a size that has always fitted so it was then too big. OK, no problem, we'll return them. Took them to the store in Eastland and were told we couldn't return them through the store (even though the website says that you can). OK, no problem, we'll send them back. We've now been told that they can't accept our return because we taped the box closed. Seriously! We now have a problem.... ...We've been told that it clearly states in their return policy that we can't tape a box closed. It actually says 'SHOES in original condition in the original box' nothing about the 'condition' of the box. We taped it closed so that the shoes remained in 'original condition'. We won't be paying the extra it costs to use this store anymore because the service doesn't justify it anymore.
Terrible experience with customer service by
[names removed]. Neither of these people would assist with a purchase issue & furthermore gave me the runaround, Quite rude.
ACCC have been made aware
August 19th 2019 Update: Worst customer service! Turn off!
STAY AWAY!!!!! Don’t waste your money!!I have an invalid gift card & Have experienced the worst customer service with Athletes foot. As I am getting nowhere with customer service, which seems to consist of the same three people, I have asked for details of a manager to help but they are ig...noring me. I refuse to ever shop at Athletes foot because of this & urge you not to either because if anything goes wrong don’t expect any assistance or resolution. It’s quite obvious they are happy to take your money & run!
The staff Ash and Brady from Athlete's Foot in Lavington Nsw exceeded my customer service requirements.
I had no problems returning a pair of shoes within the 30 day return policy. From the phone call to the shop the staff were only tooo kind and courteous in finding me another pair of shoes for work . Thank you Athlete's Foot
Rudeness of sale staff.
I walked into chatswood, westfield on sunday 2nd june.i asked to be measured and my card checked.the shop became busy, but the man serving me kept talking to other people and not focusing on what i needed. He abused me verbally .i will NEVER go back there!!
Non existent after sales service
Bought a pair of running shoes and mesh ripped in a short amount of time. Returned to store where I purchased them and was told photos needed to be taken as to be sent to asic to warrant them. This took over a month!!
Finally got another pair and guess what..same problem. Been waiting nearly 2 weeks for reply. Not good enough. I want my money back. Will never shop there again!
Disappointing customer service
Bought trainers for my son $260 wanting to be loyal for having him fitter in store. Only to find the same shoe literally 2 doors up for $60 less (REBEL). Went straight back and asked if they could do something as a gesture if they cannot price match but they said no. And then they wonder why stores are going bust. VERY disappointing they couldnt do any gesture as good customer service management would
Sole shocker - Nike Pegasus 35
Not worth the money. as a long time Pegasus buyer the 35's were a disappointment. Narrow fit and sole not up to general wear expectation wearing through completely to the foam in 4 months.
Athletes foot not sympathetic to my request for replacement.

Poor customer service - Wrong Size Shoes sent via Online Purchase
I ordered 2 pairs of school shoes in a Size 5 and a Size 6 in time for the beginning of the new school year. The delivery was fast, within 24 hours. However, I was sent two pairs of Size 6 shoes (one was in a box marked Size 5). There is no customer service via telephone and had to wait 2 days for an email reply. There was no offer of restitution for their mistake and I was told to box up the shoes myself and return them. I asked for a same-day courier to send the correct Size 5's as ordered as my son was at school with incorrect shoes on, and collect the pair sent to me in error and they declined. I will no longer be shopping at Athletes Foot.

I placed an order on January 12 & received it on January 15. I was unable to fit the shoes and immediately contacted customer service to request an exchange. I was told they are unable to exchange them or take them back at a store. Therefore, I was required to return the shoes and to pay for another pair. They stated that once received, I would the first pair, I would receive a refund. The catch was that they deduct $8.00 from the amount I paid for restocking. I had already paid $7.44 for shipping. Well I returned the shoes the same day via UPS...and received a confirmation indicating they were received them. To date, they are indicating that they did not receive the shoes back despite me providing the tracking number which indicated they were signed for. I have called customer service numerous times and either on hold for an extended period of time or they still claim they dont see that they were received. I have currently been placed on hold for more than 10 minutes and upon callback, I have been holding for 11 minutes. Please do not take yourself through this hassle. This has been very frustrating and something I will NEVER do again!

Questions & Answers
If the shoes I buy in store for my husband don't fit, can they be refunded at any of your stores. Our local store doesn't stock what I want to buy.
I brought a pair of shoes at the store, that were on sale. Once i tried them both on at home i realized one fit better than the other. Bc they were on sale i could obly exchange and ended up getting a pair and paying the difference but these dont fit well either.. Is it possible to take the new ones back for a full refund?
If your $229.95 shoes don't even last 3 months , what can you do? can you take them back? I haven't used them often and they are falling apart
Thank you!! I took my shoes back after 3 months, as they were wearing out quicker than I thought for such a pricey shoe. They were so helpful at Castle Hill. Robin identified the problem and helped me choose a shoe that was a better fit for me. They replaced them with a better pair and had to just pay the $30 difference. Thank you and I will definetely come back and recommend you to friends etc
