Kay and the team were thorough, competitively priced, very personable and provided excellent follow up, good quality products, knowledge and after sales support. Good product but poor communication and after sales service from sales rep – I wanted block out awnings to stop the western afternoon sun coming through my window, heating up the room and house. It was easy to organise the blind factory to come out and quote. The first issue happened when the installer arrived to find the factory hadn't provided him with all the parts. install. A month later I noticed that the awning didn't stop the sun coming through the side of the awning - it wasn't wide enough. I called the woman who gave me the quote. Her response was that she wasn't to know where the sun would land on my house! If she'd asked, I could have told her at the time of the quote. She also said they couldn't go wider on one side of the awning because it wasn't brick wall, like the other side, it was wooden board. She didn't explain any of this at the time of the quote. If she had, I wouldn't have gone ahead with it. She offered to send out the installer again to see if anything could be done, which I accepted. No one ever came back. When I called the blind factory office to make a complaint, they just wanted to put me back onto the woman who did the quote. She's the one I wanted to complain about. I couldn't speak to any manager.

I think their complaint process is lacking. I ended up giving up, but eventually wrote this review.

After The Blind Factory read this review they organised to send out the installer again. His only suggestion was that he could install hooks at the bottom of the awning which would reduce the gap a little more but still not completely stop the sun shining through. He came out and installed it the following week.

I still believe that this issue should have been explained to me during the quote process and that the sales rep's response to my concern was sub standard. I hope they can implement a complaints process for sales reps that doesn't involve only speaking to the rep you have a problem with. The awning is of a good quality and the installer was friendly and professional throughout.
