Bought a Beautyrest Comfort Firm Mattress from the commercial side of comfort group. The first mattress that was delivered was not the one that had been paid for but we still had to go through the normal process of providing pics and proof regarding the issue with the mattress. Once it had been returned, it was clear that the mattress did not meet… Read more

the required specs. They sent a second mattress. It was better than the first but was still soft despite having ordered the Beutyrest firm mattress. My husband woke up with a daily back ache and after using it for 2 months, we decided to replace it ($1800 wasted) and bought a firm mattress from another company.

Made a claim under warranty with Harvey Norman for my sleep maker mattress in September 2025 Harvey Norman were great, this comfort group is disgusting, 7 week process and $165 later , yes to find out my mattress had a minor fault?? Was way more than minor! They treated me like cr#p, I could go on and on about how bad of an experience I had but I will not spend any more time with this novice company. Show details

Complete rip off, I brought a $6000 matress and within a few months it began to sink in the middle after near a year it was so bad that we could no longer sleep on it. Useless – Worst experience with this company, wouldn't recommend purchasing any product from the companies these guys represent especially Beds r us and especially in Mildura! Owner sold old floor stock to us which is not what we wanted, after repeated calls speaking with owner and getting nowhere we contacted the warranty team which were just as useless! Matress was stained and sagged in the middle from being folded before it arrived.

Couldn’t be more dissatisfied!! Their so called warranty is a scam! – Do not buy a mattress from this business. Their warranty is a scam and they offer no support. Despite me having a legitimate claim under warranty they just denied my claim out of hand. Even worse, they then wanted $150 of my money to view the mattress. Our top of the line $4099 mattress has lost all support after a few years. It’s like sleeping in… Read more

DO NOT BUY; waste of money – If score ZERO was an option, I would give them 0. Poor quality for High price My wife and I have back pain and needed a firm mattress. Had our previous much cheaper mattress for 3 years and started to soften in the middle. That is why we decided to go for another firm mattress. We purchase Comfort Group Firm mattress from Harvey Norman and paid… Read more

top dollar for it. After only 4 months, the springs of middle section softened to the level that made my and my wife roll into the middle of the bed; because the edges are still firm. I have attached some photos, but they still do not show the extend of the issue.

With disappointment, I have submitted a warranty claim. The response from Comfort group was even more dissapointing. They said that this is normal body impression and when I insisted that this is not the body impression but the springs losing their strength, they mentioned that at my own risk, they can get the mattress for inspection in their workshop and if they do not find issues I am liable for costs.

Their response was rude and I took that as a threat and hinderance.

DO NOT BUY from this producer. The much cheaper mattresses are much better. These Comfort Group Mattresses look good for a couple of months and then they have to go to garbage.

Now, I do not know what to doe with our mattress.

Not perfect but helpful service – I bought a an expensive mattress through a retailer supplied by comfort group. It was not comfortable, lacking back support and sagged in the middle with my partner. I contacted their support claims people and they inspected and firmed the mattress quickly and with low fees because it wasn’t a warranty manufacturing fault. I sleep much better.… Read more

Personally the memory foam seems a little warm for my body type. Overall I’m happy with the outcome. Would rate 4.8/5.

Australian Made product, and outstanding Customer Service – We are very very happy with our Zenith Plush Mattress, from The Comfort Group (under the Serta brand). The pillow top mattress is super comfy and not too hot to sleep comfortably on, even through summer. The after-sales service we received was faultless... and we all know that the true measure of a good company is how they serve their customers… Read more

when things don’t go as planned! So apart from the mattress being amazingly comfortable, here’s why I rate them so highly...

When we purchased the Serta mattress from Forty Winks we chose a custom made base with drawers, rather than the matching Serta base. Sometime after delivery we had concerns that the mattress and base weren’t a “good fit” as the bed felt different to the one we had laid on in the store. We couldn’t quite put our finger on what was different though so I contacted Forty winks who showed little interest. Next I contacted The Comfort Group/Serta for help. The customer service we received from them was second to none! From the moment I spoke to their team on the phone they we’re professional, caring and helpful. Like they said, “a good day depends on a good nights sleep”, and they were determined to help us sleep comfortably. After inspecting the mattress and base for us, they discovered a manufacturing fault in the base (Made by another company) was causing the issue, with the mattress not being fully supported. Unfortunately for us, the fault in the base had damaged our beautiful new comfy mattress. Really that wasn’t their responsibility to fix, but The Comfort Group rep stepped up straight away, and even though it was no fault of theirs they offered to replace our mattress (and helped us explain the base issue to Forty winks who replaced the faulty base). I was so impressed with the genuine care shown, and the extensive knowledge of all things sleep. These guys went over and above to ensure that we were 100% happy.

The new mattress gives us a perfect night sleep every night. Give these Australian manufactured mattresses a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Can’t thank Adam enough for his professional, knowledgeable service and assistance. He was true to his word, and the final product is exactly what we hoped for.

Perfect customer service – Seriously great customer service. Our emails were answered promptly. The pick up and return of our mattress was on time, with an appreciated phone call 15-20 mins prior to their arrival. Everyone was helpful and very cheerful from the receptionist to the truck driver.

We purchased a Comfort Group mattress from Forty Winks, and within four years it began collapsing. We made a warranty claim in the fifth year, which was initially denied. After persistent back-and-forth, they eventually agreed to repair the mattress. When it was returned, the condition was worse than when we sent it away. We complained again and,… Read more

after further arguments, they replaced it with a current equivalent model, as our original had been discontinued due to numerous complaints and manufacturing faults (confirmed off the record by a Forty Winks staff member).

The replacement options offered were not comparable in quality, comfort, or price to our original mattress. After further negotiation, we were upgraded to a higher model, which we still felt was not truly equivalent, but we decided to try it.

Within two years, the new mattress developed the same — if not worse — sagging, collapse, and discomfort. It also caused ongoing neck pain and made it difficult to sleep. When we contacted Comfort Group again, they wanted to charge us for an inspection. I refused, unwilling to go through the same exhausting process again.

We have since purchased a mattress from a different company and will never buy a Comfort Group product again.

Terrible and unprofessional – Absolutely appalling experience with SleepMaker and their so-called "warranty service." They market themselves as a premium brand, but when it comes to standing by their products, they fail miserably. My mattress developed significant defects well within the warranty period, yet they refused to take responsibility, twisting their own terms to deny… Read more

a valid claim. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, they sent The Comfort Group, a third-party company that was even worse—completely biased, dismissive, and clearly working in SleepMaker’s favor rather than providing a fair and honest assessment.

The process was nothing short of frustrating. SleepMaker went out of their way to avoid accountability, using vague technicalities to avoid honoring their promises. Their representatives were unhelpful, unprofessional, and defensive, showing no genuine interest in resolving the issue. It became obvious they care more about avoiding costs than standing behind the quality they claim to offer.

The Comfort Group's assessment process felt designed to discredit customers rather than provide a fair evaluation. They ignored obvious defects and seemed determined to find reasons to reject the warranty claim, no matter how unreasonable. It's shocking that a brand of this size would partner with such a company, but it speaks volumes about their priorities—profits over customers.

This entire experience has been stressful, unfair, and deeply disappointing. SleepMaker's lack of integrity and refusal to uphold basic customer rights is unacceptable for a company in the bedding industry, where comfort and trust should be fundamental. I strongly advise against purchasing from SleepMaker unless you're prepared to be left stranded when issues arise. Companies like this should not be trusted with your hard-earned money.

Incredibly Poor – Update: Well...no real update other than apparently a 'minor' fault was found that required "a whole new spring assembly" that has been replaced! beyond a joke, five weeks without a mattress, other than the 17cm, 1 working turn spring, so called, mattress. Absolutely abysmal service from both Coffs Harbour Forty winks and The Comfort Group.

Wow! Believe all the negative reviews you read here, the are real. I just wish I had read them before purchasing our mattress. After having our new Sleepmaker mattress delivered and placed on its base, it was immediately obvious it was faulty. One side had no support or had collapsed and the other side was as expected, medium comfort and supportive. After one night sleeping on it, just to make sure, we called Forty Winks to explain the issue. We filled out the warranty claim and TWO WEEKS later, the faulty mattress was picked up for 'testing' and a temporary 'replacement mattress' was delivered. When I say mattress, more like a king size brick. The cheapest, most basic 'old school' spring mattress (17cm in height), that when you lay on it, you can actually feel the springs. You simply cant sleep on it. Luckily we had two 30 year old singles laying around that we had to use that were slightly more comfortable. We received a mattress, 'Dead On Arrival' and it will total, at least, four weeks until we get what we paid for. This company is an absolute disgrace. If you do make the mistake of purchasing from this company, good luck, you'll need it.

Never buy a sleep maker mattress!! – These mattresses are absolute rubbish. Several depressions throughout the mattress. The company does not honour the 10 year warranty and they will find a way to weasel out of it ! Do not trust them. Poorly made and even worse customer serviceI – This company isn't worthy of 1 star I have given Purchased a Comfort Group branded mattress from Beds R Us, (best 4 Rest) medium Was absolutely beautiful to sleep on, about 2 to 3 years of owning this mattress it developed severe dipping on both side, was sent away and they deemed it to be faulty and replaced it. sleeping on the new mattress the same issue arose and was sent away, this time Comfort Group (SleepMaker) found a fault and decided to rebuild the mattress, I was fine with this until I slept on it, it was like sleeping on a block of styrofoam, after a few days of crappy sleep I went back into store and was advised to put a electric blanket on the bed to help the materials in the Mattress to soften and put the mattress on the floor and walk all over it to help soften the mattress as well, and allow 12 weeks for the mattress to settle in. I got to week 7 and I was extremely tired and very irritable from having very poor amounts of sleep, I went into store laid on multiple medium and firm mattresses and found that my medium mattress is much firmer than the firmest mattress I tried in store. Not satisfied with with advice from the store I contacted SleepMaker direct and agreed to pay the $150 shipping and assessment fees only to be told that my mattress meets the requirements of a Medium Mattress ( which I find hard to believe since it’s so hard ) it’s now been 3 week my mattress has been away this time, ( all the while sleeping on a very thin and uncomfortable loan mattress that you can feel every spring) After getting advice from Fair trading nsw, I have been advised to deal the retailer and not the manufacturer, and I’m still getting nowhere, now having to proceed with Fair Trading complaint to get my problem sorted out. STAY AWAY FROM ALL COMFORT GROUP BRANDED MATTRESSES

I am over this group and would have liked for the group to offer me at least a word with someone higher in the comfort group - I am throughly disappointed and frustrated in the whole process - be careful of warranties that don’t abide. The photos are showing the replacement mattress the filthy plastic it arrived in and the difference in sizing to the mattress we had taken away - the company just closed the case never asking if I was pleased with the supposed mattress top redo because in the end this is all they offered. Can you believe the poor mattress replacement!

Exceptionally Poor Delivery Service – I purchased two bed ensembles through a supplier of The Comfort Group. The Comfort Group arranged delivery from their Deer Park Warehouse in Melbourne. When I enquired about how much it would cost to have them taken upstairs, no-one could tell me and their dispatch centre just kept telling me they were not informed that the beds would need to be taken up one flight of stairs. After ten minutes of arguing, I told them to leave (using strong language). In that time, they could have completed the job and would have had a happy customer. It's two days out from Christmas and my beds are still sitting on the ground floor in my lounge/kitchen area. Why they couldn't deliver them upstairs is beyond me. They are delivery men for goodness sake. From other people reviews, I really hope my beds last longer than what others have experienced. I would never use this company again. Poor quality. Poor service. Will advertise by word of mouth encouraging all to avoid the comfort group at all costs – Purchased a beauty rest ensemble with pillow top mattress. Was delivered without the pillow top. So was taken Away and a loan mattress provided until original mattress was returned with pillow top. After just 18 months the stitching on 3 out 4 corners came undone. Again a loan mattress was provided until a replacement mattress was returned.… Read more

Trouble is the return mattress was nothing like the one that was purchased. Didn’t even match the base. Ended up replacing entire ensemble with a top of the range ensemble. The top of the range ensemble mattress has faults in the material which are small stretches that will prove to tear in no time. After providing photos and another 3-4 mattress swaps and loan mattresses (one that came with a single bed bug!!) the comfort group decided they were doing no more to fix the issue. Either keep the faulty mattress with the poor quality material or take a refund and go without a bed altogether until such time I find another (clearly not from any of the comfort group brands - sleepmaker and beautyrest among them)

Harvey Norman Auburn were no better. The ladies there were never available to speak with and the supervisor was so rude she hung up on me and told me to go ahead and go public with my complaint. Will never shop there again and will also share my experience of that store with everyone also.

My advice avoid all comfort group brands and Harvey Norman Auburn at all costs. Not worth the poor quality or the headache. Bed bugs are no fun! Thanks Comfort Group (NOT)!
