The best thing I have ever done in a long time was to finish my Certificate IV in Life coaching with The Life Coaching Academy. All the people, from enrollement, coaches, mentors and students are nothing but supportive to my growth as a Life Coach. I will always be grateful for the experience.

Essential course for all humans to learn! – I loved the experience and mentors that guided me through the LCA. The course content was so inspiring and interesting to learn. Much of the content I believe is what we should be taught in school and should be apart of our learning and development as a human. I am forever grateful for the teachings in this program as it was definitely pivotal in… Read more

my self development and spiritual evolution. I loved the coaching triads experience and also loved Holly MacCues ICF trainings. She is an incredible mentor as was Deb and Gail. Peter was always there to help me if I had any questions and also replied to my emails promptly and with clarity. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. I love my new career as a certified life coach, it’s such a rewarding and fulfilling role. My clients are also my greatest teachers which is a reward I never expected but am so grateful for each session for what they reflect back to me. Thank you Peter and the LCA team. Danielle French

The Life Coaching Academy has been and is a fabulous and supportive school to start my coaching journey! – The course content was really interesting and it covered so much.I've been very satisfied with the teaching and the teachers/mentors are very positive and supportive. The course content wasn't too difficult and I just chipped away at it,whilst running a full time business,so it's very doable. They are very thorough and like to see that you… Read more

I was searching for an ICF recognised Life Coaching course based in Australia and discovered The Life Coaching Academy. What stood out to me was that the course is ICF recognised, nationally recognised and run by a registered RTO, which gave me extra confidence in its credibility. hands-on practice and pro bono coaching sessions with real clients, all of which enriched my understanding and helped to build my competence and confidence to coach. Participating in triads gave me the unique perspective of experiencing coaching as a coach, a client, and an observer. Receiving feedback and guidance from my mentor, who listened in on my sessions, was extremely valuable for my growth, both personally and professionally. The support offered by the staff and faculty was exceptional at every stage.

I now feel truly equipped to guide others, and I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a transformative life coaching qualification.

The mentors were exceptional; all are genuine, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in my success. I’m especially thankful for my own mentor, whose wisdom, encouragement, and genuine care made a profound impact on my growth. Across the board, the LCA team were responsive and supportive, with most queries answered quickly and clearly.

The online learning portal was intuitive and easy to navigate, and the live webinars were engaging and high-quality. While there were moments when the spacing between webinars slowed progress, and some unit results required follow-up, the guidance I received ensured I always stayed on track.

If you’re self-motivated and comfortable managing your own schedule, this program offers the perfect mix of flexibility and structure. The content itself is inspiring, practical, and relevant, not only for aspiring coaches, but for experienced practitioners wanting to refine and elevate their craft.

I’m proud to now call myself a qualified coach through LCA, and grateful for this transformative chapter in my personal and professional journey. I wholeheartedly recommend the LCA programs to anyone ready to grow, serve, and make an impact.

intuitive. For a platform designed for remote learners, it’s well-structured and efficient.

I would recommend this program to anyone who is comfortable with self-directed study and has the flexibility to manage their own schedule. Without that, especially in the beginning, it can become unnecessarily overwhelming.

In terms of content, I was quite satisfied. However, I would have appreciated a clearer overview of the curriculum—perhaps a logical roadmap of the topics or an explanation of the training plan upfront. This would have helped set better expectations and provided a clearer understanding of the learning flow.

Overall, a solid and enriching experience with just a few areas for improvement.

Through this program, I was challenged, inspired and out of my comfort zone which has made me grow as a person, partner, parent and now a Coach. LCA has the most fantastic trainers who run their own coaching businesses and deliver relevant and realistic material that is not text book style.

Poorly Organised and run – I took up this course hoping to learn and help others. Initially, I was promised the flexibility to go at my own pace, a feature I confirmed with the course team before signing up. However, the disorganized course materials and infrequent live classes have left me feeling taken advantage of. All the resources are piled into a shared portal used… Read more

by many students and courses, making it confusing to understand what's needed for assessments. Despite a central document, the nested information makes it hard to grasp and the owner is unwilling to take feedback on this.

Recording coaching sessions with clients takes 5-8 weeks each, making it nearly impossible to finish on time, especially if you're working. Live classes are required but some only happen every 5-6 months, so missing one means waiting a long time for the next which results in the course dragging out further.

On top of these issues, the company's lack of professionalism showed when they called me mid-course to ask about payment without even checking their records and when wanting to provide feedback on the course, it's structure and how the coursework is organised the owner was unwilling to discuss possible improvements. It's not what I expected for the price and reputation of this course.

Make sure you research the fine details of the Life Coaching Academy courses before enroling – If you are considering studying at the Life Coaching Academy just make sure you do as much research as you can on things like how the course works (I found that there is not as much support as I expected from what I had read), on what the course content involves and most importantly their refund policy. The Life Coaching Academy refund policy… Read more

involves keeping up to 35% of the course fee and the only information on this policy is contained in the enrolment form. To withdraw you have to write to the CEO. When I went to do so there was no information anywhere on their website as to how to do so nor what information you needed to supply for the withdrawal to be a smooth one (which is primarily your bank account details regardless of original payment method).

Unfortunately, I found all this out the hard way. I paid out $5790 and received $3800 when I withdrew after what was effectively 4-5 weeks of study. In my case the course was not meeting my expectations and my personal circumstances changed. I rang to enquire about withdrawing and this is where things started to unravel - the first two people I spoke to couldn't help or direct me to where I could find the withdrawal process info. When I finally spoke to someone who could assist I was met with rudeness.

I thought I had done my due diligence in researching what the Life Coaching Academy had to offer and on what basis they offered it, I even rang to ask further questions regarding the various courses. I was confused by the choices - I couldn't find anything that provided a comparison between what you got versus cost etc. It was during this process I was offered enrolment over the phone ( I had intended to do so on line). This was my biggest mistake as much of the critical information that you need to know is on the enrolment form. It is on the enrolment form that they outline their refund policy and also ask you to acknowledge that you have read and understood the payment conditions and refund/ cancellation policy, along with the Student Information Handbook.

In agreeing to enrol over the phone none of this information was made known to me - and unfortunately, maybe naively I didn't access the enrolment form before hand so was not aware of it. The enrolment form just wasn't a place that I thought to look for critical information. In my experience it is the only place on the Life Coaching Academy's website and literature that information on their refund policy can be found.

When I went to withdraw I mentioned that I had enrolled over the phone and had not been made aware of the Academy's refund policy - nor was I asked to acknowledge that I had read it in my subsequent enrolment. I put forward a genuine concern about the lack of information and the fairly harsh financial consequence. What I got in return was a person who would not listen to my concerns, who shut down the conversation, who justified my feelings when I offered them and generally displayed an unwillingness to explore the issue. In all my subsequent dealings with the Academy I was referred back to a refund policy that I had not seen - none of my concerns were given any discussion.

All of this has been less about the money, though I can't say that didn't hurt and more about the unfair process I experienced and the need for more openness and transparent information being made available particularly when talking to the Life Coaching Academy in person. Particularly, if like me, you end up enrolling over the phone. My attempts at resolving the issue did not work.

Finally, if you are thinking of enroling try to find some balanced reviews - something that I found really difficult. Their website and info brochures are filled with the positive testimonials. I am sure many people have positive experiences at the Life Coaching Academy. Unfortunately, as in my case, in raising a problem/issue what I got was a very different and not very positive experience.

Make sure you understand the refund policy and go in with eyes wide open. Issues or problems raised may not be explored openly or positively.

challenge me so I could actually learn a lot and raise the bar on my skillset, and that’s exactly what I got.

To give you some context, I already have a lot of other qualifications (in the fields of psychology, therapy and somatics), including a coaching certification that is not accredited. I also have management and mentoring experience. I wasn’t sure whether it was necessary to do yet another coaching qualification, especially given that so many people call themselves life coaches without any training or expertise whatsoever. Somehow I still felt I was still missing something in my skillset, and I was right.

One of the best things for me personally was completing triad practice with two peers every week over several months and having a mentor to keep me steering in the right direction. It was a humbling experience and helped me to undo old habits and re-train myself with new/better ones. I found a lot of blindspots I didn’t know I had and I learnt to get out of the way.

For example: I used to be the kind of person who loved giving everyone advice - I was a bit of a “Little Miss Fix It”. I thought I was helping people because I have been a mentor/manager before and love sharing my knowledge and expertise. But I hate it when other people try and smother me with their unsolicited advice, I just didn’t realise how much I did that myself. I also didn’t realise how much energy I wasted trying to solve other people’s problems. I learnt how it’s so much more inspiring and potent to give people fertile space to solve their own problems.

Training to become an ICF coach taught me: - To shut up and be a better listener - The art of asking relevant, intentional and powerful questions - To help clients unpack their issues, gain clarity and find their own inner wisdom - To think more clearly, intentionally and productively - To empower clients and stay on their agenda - The richness of silence in conversation - How to have more constructive conversations in my every day life, and so much more

All in all, it took me approx. 16 months to complete and I was very conscientious and dedicated in my study. I made this course my main priority. There is a lot of work, it was a similar workload to my postgraduate studies but I loved it. It helps to be very organised and perhaps even use the triads as coaching for you to complete the course.

There are a lot of things that are not necessarily in your control, for example, the dates of live seminars, reliability of pro-bono clients or the speed of assignment marking. I learnt that it’s a good idea to line up extra pro-bono clients ahead of time because someone inevitably falls off the radar and it’s less stress if you already factored this possibility into your plans. This is what slowed me down by several months.

It is very helpful for your progress if you come with a “beginners mind” and are willing to learn with openness. I faced my own ego because of my previous management experience and am so glad I put it aside because it can easily get in the way of coaching/learning. The people who I noticed struggling in this course were very stuck in their old ways of doing things (eg. still acting like a boss or a therapist from their previous experience). The best thing I did was trust the coaching process that you are taught - IT WORKS like magic.

Mentoring is a significant part of the training process, the mentors give us valuable feedback and encouragement and I am very grateful for the support this gave me.

There are areas of improvement that LCA could make, such as streamlining and ironing out the student experience and perhaps getting extra admin support to improve turnaround on communication/marking. But any time I had any concerns Peter was always open to feedback and helped me out.

This is an excellent training programme for those who want credible education with experienced coaches and trainers. One of the draw cards for me was that it is an ICF Level 2 training, I value the ICF code of ethics and the integrity of ICF coaching. I definitely notice that people respect the fact that I am ICF trained. I am now excited to be preparing for ICF accreditation as my next step.

One final note is that I believe becoming an ICF trained Life Coach has applications in all areas of life, not just as a coach. The skills learnt would help parents, teachers, managers, changemakers and anyone who wants to be an excellent communicator. So even if you are not intending to be call yourself a Life Coach, this training is incredibly valuable.

Great content, flexible and accessible but took x2 times longer to complete than I initially expected – I completed my Cert IV in Life Coaching with the LCA in 13 months; 6 months of that I did part-time whilst juggling a young family and full-time corporate job and the rest, almost full-time. choosing the LCA was a no-brainer for me in starting my journey in this profession. The course is fully online and self-paced allowing flexibility to suit your lifestyle. The course content is made up of both practical and theoretical resources; and there is a huge volume of online materials to support your learning to become a coach; and to start a business. I With access to experienced coaches, trainers and mentors throughout the course, your questions get real-life answers, giving you a good sense of what to expect operating as an independent coach. The best part of the course for me was the practical sessions with other students, allowing me to learn and practice coaching in a safe environment. The only things I'd recommend that any prospective students be aware of is that although those selling the course may tell you its possible to complete it within 4 months, it's NOT - you need to allow a MINIMUM of 8-12 months to get through the mandatory live webinars and practical sessions, even if committing yourself full-time to it (I'm a seasoned Project Manager so know my critical path - trust me!). Also beware that there's a section of content all about Risk, Marketing and Business development that most of us students found really boring and challenging to complete, with some people wanting to give up on the course entirely at this stage - HOWEVER I did find it useful in helping me shape up my coaching business so I think the pain was worth the gain there!
