I found the testing and bespoke supplementation from the compounding pharmacy a real lifesaver. I was suffering from night sweats, cold hands and feet, low energy, and generally feeling unwell. After my test results were analysed and a month on the custom supplements, combined with dietary changes, I started to feel like my real self again. Worth every cent!
If you are thinking of signing up to Lucy Rose make sure you read all the reviews and form a view as to what would be valuable to you. Whether you sign up for 3 months or 6 months it is essentially $1,000 per month for one consultation and access to various digital tools - meal and exercise plans, the Lucy Rose app etc. And that is before the… Read more
$500 per month I needed to spend on supplements / vitamins. Did I find it helpful - yes, did I feel a bit better - yes. But was it worth $1,500 per month for what you get, probably not. I should have thought it through more before I signed up. I was feeling really low and desperate at the time and though the Lucy Rose approach would help me out.

About 10 months ago, I started feeling 'off' - growing nausea whenever I ate and quite bad acid reflux, particularly at night. I was gaining weight and, no matter what I ate or how much I exercised, nothing was shifting it. I’m also peri-menopausal,… Read more
so I was getting hot flushes and the like (joy). So, I went to my local GP, who put me through a series of tests, including blood work and expensive ultrasounds (which were only partly covered by Medicare) only to then tell me that, though my thyroid was underactive, it was not underactive enough to warrant going on medication. I was then told words to the effect of "go away and lose some weight". Charming... How was I supposed to do that if my thyroid was not working properly???
So, I got on Google and searched for a thyroid specialist and came across The Lucy Rose Clinic (TLRC). Their reviews seemed quite positive, so I gave them a call. During the initial phone call, after I told my story, I was told "We hear this all the time, but we can help get you sorted" or words to that effect. So, I paid for the first consultation, and they signed me up to a 12-week program, telling me it was going to cost about $3000 but that, by the end, they would get me back on track. At first, I was hesitant, as $3000 is a lot of money and I'm a low-income earner with a mortgage. But I decided it was worth it for my health.
So, I started paying $297 a week for the next 12 weeks. The first week paid for the initial round of tests, which were sent to my home for me to do in private. These tests were then sent to a private lab that TLRC use, so none of this cost could be claimed on Medicare. The test results came back, and I had a tele consult with a naturopath who talked me through the results and prescribed a number of supplements as well as the main medication for my thyroid - I nearly fell off my chair when she told me the total - it came out to $509!!! Which was going to be monthly!!! When I asked if this was covered by my LRC membership, I was told no - it's extra. So, what is my membership paying for??? Well, it turns out it was for the initial round of tests, done in the first week, and then the rest is for access to TLRC Health Hub on their website. And what's on the hub, you ask? Tips and tricks, recipes, yoga classes and the like. Something I could get off YouTube or Google for FREE.
So, not only was I paying for access to a health hub I neither needed nor wanted, I was also paying on top of this for my meds as well!!! If I'd known what I was signing up for, I wouldn't have done it. I wish TLRC had been more transparent when I first signed up. Because, once you sign up, you're committed to the program, you can't back out, I was told. I feel like I've been misled. I came to TLRC to get my thyroid back on track, not for recipes and yoga classes.
And TLRC do mark up the prices of the supplements they supply. For example, one supplement I was given was Metagenics Resist-X Advance, which was supposed to control blood sugar and aid weight loss (I have not lost a single KG while on any of these meds, by the way). TLRC charged me $83.62 for a one-month supply – I found it online for $72.95. Another one, Integra GeneActive, TLRC charged me $69.30 for a one-month supply – I found it cheaper online for $47.50. And their marked-up prices don’t include postage – that’s another added cost. So, it pays to shop around. And the cost of my thyroid medication? It was $180 a month. When I asked the dietician if I could change to something more generic, she changed me to Metagenics Bio essentials and liquid Iodine at half the cost. Neither of these are prescription meds, so I can buy them online much cheaper that TLRC will supply.
Oh, and at the end of the 12-week program, I asked if my membership included another round of tests (to see whether I was on the right track and that the medication levels were effective). No, I was told that I would have to pay extra for this – I found out that these 15-min consultation sessions cost $250 each! Needless to say, that won't be happening.
To be fair, I did start to feel better – the nausea subsided and the acid reflux mostly went away. But I’m still struggling with my weight. And this partial result has come at a huge cost – one I still don’t think I needed to pay. This is the only reason why they get 2 stars and not 1.
So, overall - did TLRC help get my health back on track? Partially, YES. I do feel better health wise, but I’ve not lost a single KG during the 12-week program. Not one.
Was it worth the $3000+? NO. I wish they had just charged me for the tests and the medication - that is all I needed. Especially given I'd just shelled out over $1000 for the ultrasounds ordered by my GP before this! Which, LTRC knew about, as I told them.
Would I do it again? NO.
Would I recommend TLRC to my friends and family? NO. Not unless they change their charging fees. Access to a health hub on a website should never cost $297 a week.
This was a very expensive lesson for me and it's going to take me a long time to rebuild my bank account.
UPDATE: Someone from TLRC reached out to me prior to this review going live to "chat and review my case". When I made contact by email, she agreed that $297 per week for access to their Heath Hub was a "ridiculous fee" to have to pay and yet, her only thought of a remedy was to offer a free consultation session with a practitioner. Huh? I politely told her that I don't need another consultation as I just had one last week and that this was not the point of my review. Unless they were willing to compensate me for the "ridiculous fees", then we had nothing further to discuss. I never heard back from her...
Follow-up · Update: 21/10/2025 I've since started using Caruso's Thyroid Manager, which is 1 tablet daily for 1/3 the cost that TLRC was charging me and they seem to be working quite well. Hindsight is a marvelous thing and I wish I'd had it earlier this year - I'd have saved myself close to $5,500.

lifestyle changes — as instructed by my practitioner. Despite this, I saw no measurable improvement in my health outcomes.
When I raised concerns, the clinic denied a refund of $4,595.85, claiming I had not adhered to the plan — a claim that is factually incorrect and was never raised during treatment. They also stated that complimentary consultations were provided, but these were simply part of ongoing attempts to achieve results within the original program as well as appointments relating to adverse reactions to some of the supplements provided, not a goodwill gesture.
I have since found numerous negative reviews from other clients describing almost identical experiences: following the program as prescribed, not achieving results, and being denied remedies while the clinic shifted blame to the client. I believe this constitutes misleading and deceptive conduct, failure to deliver services as advertised, and potentially false representations under Australian Consumer Law.
I have since lodged a case with the ACCC for a full review.
Follow-up · After continuous attempts to resolve . Still no resolution or accountability taken. Shae the naturopath had not reported into the system the adverse reactions. There’s missing phone calls and missing notes. Disappointed beyond measures. I have taken matter to ACCC.They were originally striked out in 2019.
They’re CONS! Once you leave them an honest review here - they then post fake “good” reviews to bring their scores back up

I was grateful for the supplements and advice about diet and I think it improved my energy and health, however the service was impersonal, expensive and seemed to be a never-ending rip off. from the Lucy Rose clinic. reduce it, I was told the package was necessary just to gather basic information. The consultations themselves are brief—30 minutes or less—and prescriptions cost upwards of $400.
