Rear Veranda – The 4 timber posts that are holding up my 3 year old veranda, are splitting due to being laminated, not solid timber. It now appears I cannot get the problem rectified due to the company going out of business.

Roller shutters – Shutters were installed by a friendly team of workers. After an initial delay of a couple of weeks were fitted when advised and seem to be performing the job required, reducing heat in upstairs area.

The shutters allow light in - exactly what I had challenged the sales person on!

I have 3 more shutters to be installed at the back of my place but I won't be using them.

home no remote left 3 ordered only left with 2 texted the installer asked if he had forgotten to leave it is text read "ain't got one" ask where I could get one from no reply( again rude with a bad attitude) rang the Think office the manager said ok sorry will order one will get it delivered to you Friday ..do you think it came Friday nope spoke to them again and they really didn't give a toss but got it in the end, would I use them again pardon the pun ..I THINK NOT sad thing is we have all the shutters at the back of the house to do along with a outdoor entertainment area a fair few grand I suspect ..so you really shot yourself in the foot Think home improvements will be using someone else

Perform as specified – Sometimes salespeople give an inflated and inaccurate assessment of a produce which leads to disappointment and even anger for being sold a pup! Not so with this product. It performs as indicated and we are pleased with the result.

I won't wish our experience on our worst enemy – So many issues it is hard to know where to start. We had a carport and pergola with a gable section. It was a $30k+ contract of works. It wasn't a straightforward job as the house was at an angle and trapeziums were the shapes, but they knew what they were signing up for, well at least the salesman did. - Continual bad communication.

- Not following through with agreed upon actions.

- Think HI subcontractors hand-balling issues around to other Think HI people.

- Denial of doing anything wrong when we told them the wrong materials were delivered.

- No notification nor receipts given after money was "taken" from our credit card without our permission after the wrong materials were delivered. We had to cancel our credit card after that in case they decided they had the "right" to "take" more "payment" for more deliveries of incorrect material or work they were not authorised to do.

We had to go to Consumer And Business Services for Compulsory Conciliation meeting in order to progress the works where they admitted they were in the wrong by offering a discount to go with the materials delivered.

Thank God it wasn't actually the original Think HI sub contractors who started the job who finished it.

There were so many issues with drawings/plans (or lack there of) that Victory, Think's material supplier, was called in who arranged for another company, to finish the job. They redid what Think's contractor's did, as they had to sign off on it, and then, from what I can figure out, ordered a significant amount of additional material than originally ordered to finish the job properly on the second structure.

It was sold to us as only meant to take a few months from contract signing to completed job...... the saga ended up taking a 12 months, and created a huge amount of stress on a very young family....

If I was to go through every issue we had with them i could write a thesis, but I'll summarise....

deck warped within one month of installation – Entire deck warped within a month of installation. Think HI refused to do anything about it. Independent building engineer identified multiple errors and shortcuts in the build. Now off to court to get our money back. Additionally, aggressive sales approach followed by zero communication.

Almost identical experience as Jeffreys – Perhaps think twice to avoid disappointment. . Verandahs. 7 months later and still no resolution. Unbelievable experience. Spring approaching and still surrounded by chaos. Would have put no star but that wasn't offered. Jeffreys experience sums up ours as it is almost identical.. Like him it has been a heart breaking experience. Disallusioned.

Blown-Away Roof, Water Leaking, Damaged Structure...Really Regretful – Below is our genuine experience with Think Home Improvements SA. All are evidenced by photos (which we are willing to share with). We purchased a verandah from Think. It is a verandah with a triangular roof in the center and two flat roofs on both sides. The price is more than $16,000, so we did expect a high-quality verandah, but Think delivered… Read more

a poor-quality one. The roof and pillar issues (see below) even make us feel unsafe underneath the verandah. The experience with Think is like a nightmare to us.

First, the installation was poorly done. We were left with several issues unsolved (eg. unparalleled pillars and holes on the structure) and we immediately reported to the manager in charge at Think. After several arguments, Think finally agreed to fix those issues (but their solutions turned out to be inappropriate, didn’t meet the industry standard, and only made the situation worse - see below). More ridiculously, just day after the installation, the verandah roof was blown away by the wind. Also, there is water leaking in the middle of the roof, and the triangular roof is damaged when the technician from Think tried to screw back the roof. We sent several emails to Think to express our concerns. The manager in charge at Think didn't come and check what were damaged and what were needed to be replaced. We kept sending him emails and he finally attended to our emails. He ignored/downplayed our issues again. He told us that he understood the situation and knew well how to solve the issues. Now it proves he is WRONG and we suffer from his/Think's mistakes.

The way Think attempted to fix the issues is inappropriate, unsafe, not up to the standard, and only makes the situation worse:

1) For the water leaking issue, we had been advised that simply applying silicon is not the appropriate way to solve the issue. We expressed this concern to Think, but we found that they still tried to solve the leaking issue by applying more silicon (we took photos from our second floor and proved this).

2) For the unparalleled pillar issue, Think should have installed the pillars in parallel but they didn't. In an attempt to solve the issue, they almost cut down the pillar to twist and straighten it. As advised by some engineers, Think's way now causes another safety issue because the pillar structure is obviously damaged. Especially, considering that even Think's roof can be blown away, we no longer feel safe staying underneath the verandah built by Think.

3) For the damaged triangular roof issue, it was clearly damaged when the technician from Think tried to screw back the roof of the verandah. We have photos to prove this (actually we have photos to prove all issues and put them on google review of Think). Think claimed this was a new issue and refused to fix it - they said they could do some re-positioning - this is not acceptable by any standard.

4) Think left a big bin in the middles of our driveway for two days without any notice. Even after we reported this issue to Think, the big bin was still there for one more day. It blocked the access to the garage and we were forced to park our car on the street. The car thus got damaged after parking two days on the street.

We have totally lost our confidence in Think Home Improvements as some of the current structure has been damaged after their several repairs – their solution didn't work and only made the verandah even worse and unsafe. We feel really regretful for ever considering purchasing anything from Think Home Improvements SA...really really really regretful....
