I would not use Total Tools if you are an industrial company. Any items that need replacing under warranty are at the customers expense now with no option to lease or rent replacements whilst repairs are being completed on previously purchased items. I purchased a faulty compressor purchased one year ago. To maintain operations during the… Read more
warranty process, I was actually required to purchase a new unit.
Following this, refunds are not issued for faulty items; instead, repairs are mandated so that they can re sell the item.
Total Tools have been of no help in that situation and have cost me more money than originally anticipated - even though at the time of purchase all the these major missing services we're available.
These missing services are required for industrial companies otherwise they will be shut down.
Update: Total Tools Rockhampton has reached out and rectified the mistakes made, I have changed this review from 1 star to 3 stars, to reflect the speedy resolution process. Price match guarantee is a joke, went in with numerous examples of lower prices and the staff made up not existent terms and conditions such as, the retailer is not local… Read more
and the retailer needs to have a shop front? When pointing out that all the retailers had physical addresses, they then said they look more like warehouses. Yes, warehouses you can walk into and buy something off the shelf, much like their Total Tools store but not as flash. After wasting 2 hours of my time, the lady serving me handed me over to the store manager, who then proceeded to not honour any of the price matching. Will be writing a complaint to the email address provided as well as the ACCC. I've come to realise that the 'Price Match Guarantee' is most likely a guarantee of refusal and this is systemic accross physical stores and when using the online price match service, which I tested today. ACCC need to investigate this as Total Tools are not following their own 'Terms and Conditions'.
I should have listened when advised by 2 different people to avoid Total Tools. On Nov 28, I ordered, with a hefty price tag, an EGO POWER+ 56V Mower via Click & Collect at the Maroochydore store specifically because the website showed a green dot clearly stating "In Stock." It has been an absolute nightmare since, and I am now left without a… Read more
mower during peak growth season.
When I called to collect, they couldn't find my order. I was promised callbacks that never happened. I had to chase them, only to be condescendingly told "online orders take 14 business days"—despite the website explicitly advertising it as in stock at this location.
It has now been over 2.5 weeks. I called for an update and was told it won't be ready until maybe the second week of January- almost a 2 month wait for an item I already paid for under the pretence it was available immediately.
To top it off, when I expressed frustration that my yard is becoming a jungle, the staff member laughed and suggested I drive to Bundaberg if I wanted it sooner.
This is deceptive advertising. I have paid for a product I cannot access, and the delays are costing me time and money. I expected at least an apology from Total Tools, rather than laughing at customers for their own logistical failures.

I have had a few shady things happen with other companies that have done wrong and they don’t answer my calls or emails… but trade tools Capalaba has been doing well by me so far and they have replaced a few items that have failed… what matters is the customer service they give me 100 percent thanks to the manager and the team that he is helping Show details · 1

Price Match is not happening! Went to Total Tool Northlake asked them to match the price Makita MR009GZ found on Australian Non-eBay company, but the staff said many excuses including it’s not a Makita distributor. So, i saw their latest cash back offer, spend $500 and get $100. I went into total tools Townsville and purchased a Milwaulkee backpack sprayer for $529. I then asked if/how the $100 is given. They said ‘it’s the worst worded promotion, you actually need to spend $600, we need to see $600 on our tills.’ Photos attached of the promotion. No one I… Read more

I contacted Milwaukee who flatly said that this was a retailer promotion and had nothing to do with them. They were very quick to distance.
I tried to contact Total Tools and got zero response.
The ACCC and their stand on misleading advertising and promotions. I have submitted a complaint to the ACCC.
But.. in short…. Can you trust a retailer who deliberately misleads their customers and won’t answer their communications ? There are plenty of retailers out there.

Dont often write commendations for a business but when one is due will certainly do so. Recently went hunting for power tools with my 17 year old that is starting in construction and we went to multiple tool shops (Bunnings, Total Tools, Sydney Tools and Trade Tools) and found that whilst Bunnings was good service wise, the staff at Total Tools… Read more
North lakes were absolutely fantastic. Wife went with son first off and they treated her like a real person (as she advised as sometimes she finds women get treated like second class citizen when in a tool store etc) so she was very impressed and that’s a hard act to stand up to. Secondly they treated son like he was a customer for 10 years and explained things in a way he fully understood and treated him really well. Followed up with a trip with me and again service was outstanding. As such he bought his power tools there. Just over a week later the same brand of tools had a 3 days additional bonus whereby if you bought a certain amount of product you got a bonus credit with Total Tools. We ca;;ed them up to discuss of he would be eligible for the bonus even though he bought his tools a week prior and upon discussion with the manager they cam back and advised they will give him the bonus credit. Whilst they didn’t need to do this they did it pretty much off their own bat without any hassling from me. Of course youngster was down there that afternoon and got another tool to have for his work going forward. As such, i would like to say that the service and genuine assistance to me, my wife and son at Total Tools North Lakes has been exceptional al and i would highly recommend them if you are looking for absolute quality service and a massive collection of pretty much every quality brand of tools you can imagine. Thank you Total Tools North Lakes!!! (Sorry if i am not allowed to promote a business but there is usually so many critical posts of businesses i wanted to show that there is still good old fashioned service available and happening.
I have been dealing with total tools for a number of years. They absolutely excelled in my latest dealing with them. I was after a generator during cyclone Alfred. They were virtually impossible to get. Not only did total tools get me one just prior to the cyclones land fall, but they stayed open later on the Thursday to make certain I got one.… Read more · 2

I'm writing this review due to an incredibly poor product and an even worse customer service experience. Two days ago, I noticed Detroit SDS drill bits were on sale for $3-5 each. As this store was on my commute, I stopped in to buy a few. Yesterday, the bit completely bent after drilling only five holes into a standard brick wall. When I… Read more
returned the defective bit this morning, the same staff member who sold it to me took one look at it and immediately became dismissive and impatient. His instant conclusion was, "You used it wrong. You pushed too hard." I tried to explain that I weigh 62kg and was drilling overhead, making it impossible to apply excessive force, but he rudely insisted it was my fault.
Seeing the conversation was going nowhere, I simply asked for a store credit. He refused, stating he had to process a refund. He then proceeded to aggressively type on his keyboard while loudly and mockingly saying "three dollars" to himself, drawing the attention of all his colleagues, who turned to stare at me. It was a completely humiliating experience over a faulty $3 item.
For context, my dewalt SDS bit has lasted for years with no issues (just a bit dull now). For a slightly higher price, you can go to Bunnings, where returning a defective item is a straightforward, no-nonsense process. Saving a few dollars at Total Tools is simply not worth the disrespect and humiliation.
I own a business that has a team running renovation work for my customers, and after this incident, I will ensure my team avoids Total Tools for all future purchases.

Having a business I do like to stick to one shop but struggle with total tools Morayfield to match other shops prices and service. Not even time to blink or let’s see if we… Read more
can help you another way. Just straight out nope. Called trade tools and asked if they have any 4 packs and could match Sydney tools and they asked me why would it have to be a 4 pack. They were happy to give 4 single ones at the same price.
To be fair total tools Northlakes will jump through hoops to help. Always throw in a gift every now and then. Milwaukee chair, hoodies, gym towels and so on. 40k spent on tools,, packouts and so on in The last 6 months. I have been trying to find that one shop that will help make things happen and seems trade tools is it from the last few experiences.
Also If there is a pack deal on Milwaukee the other shops will let you swap out same brand tools to the same value while total tools Morayfield won’t. Thats the pack, take it or leave it they say. Went elsewhere swapped out what I wanted.
If you want good service try elsewhere, if you’re after the standard shop experience, pick an item and buy it then head on down to total tools Morayfield. I will only visit if I urgently need a tool and another shop don’t have it in stock.
3 stars added thanks to total tools north lakes or it would have been less.
I returned a Dewalt 18v battery and charger for repair on 9th June 2025 and was told it would take approximately 4 weeks to repair. Somebody answered and said the… Read more
repair person was right next to them and he'd put them on. I was then placed on hold for 30 minutes until I decided to hang up. I feel like the staff at this store enjoy treating customers with contempt. I rang again and finally found someone who seemed like they would take ownership of the issue, and I gave them the details. Their system only recorded a Dewalt hammer drill and didn't contain any reference to the battery and charger that were dropped off for repair. They said they would call be before the end of the day but again I was let down. I subsequently had to purchase a new battery and charger (not from Total Tools) as I needed to use the drill. I think before you purchase anything from Total Tools you may want to take into consideration what occurs if you require warranty repairs on your product because you may be waiting months for your tools, assuming you ever see them again and the staff aren't going to offer you anything like helpful support. I finally got the product back and it was still broken. After another call and another trip I was finally given a new battery.

Went to Ipswich store to exchange a bottle of gas for my mig welder. Woman on counter lacked customer service skills. Took one look at me and said “ nup haven’t got any. Not until tomorrow” . False Advertising – This store touts that they have a price match guarantee. When I requested one I was told they couldn’t match it because the competitor didn’t have a physical store in QLD, when I told them that the competitor did in fact have a store in QLD, their next excuse was that they would not make any money on the sale if they price matched. What is the point of advertising lowest price guaranteed if you won’t honour it?

phone, it turns out they were a different brand, specification and price point (100 dollars less) than the website. The website didn't accurately list the specifications so the staff found what I needed to know by other means.
I then spent the saved money on upgraded accessories rather than travelling back just in case I needed them.
The bottom line is when sales staff and company policy are welcoming to your customers those customers often upsell themselves.
I there is any criticism at all it would be reserved for the website (both internally and externally) as it could be easier for both staff and customers to get hold of accurate data. The website does continue to improve, this is just a suggestion where the improvement could be well targeted.
