time of purchase it was topped with fuel & bar & chain oil by the store I bought it from. Next time when I used it, a month later, it still had fuel and lubricating oil in it but I topped up and made sure it was all filled in to the max limit. When I tried to start the chainsaw, after multiple times of pulling up the chord, it failed to start. I thought it's better to return it as it's still under warranty. The chainsaw got taken to the total tools store in Coopers plains and one of the concerned person at the store informed my friend who was returning it on my behalf that, no 2T oil has been mixed into the fuel and that's the reason why it's not working but it needs to be sent to their repairers for further assessment. Product was bought just couple of days over 1 month at the time of return. Got the call within 2 weeks from the store mentioning that the chainsaw has been assessed and the repairers believe that there was no petrol in it when someone tried to use it but problem has been rectified by the repairers and as a result of that I have to pay $140 as the repair charge. Now, first of all I've been using the power tools for last 15 years, so I do know the basics about them. Secondly, the company has just got a bad attitude of not willing to listen and straightaway put the blame on me for not using it properly, which wasn't the case. It's just $140 which I would've been happy to pay if I was at fault but it's matter of principle now and I've refused to pay them the money and told them they can keep the faulty chainsaw which is still under warranty. I'll raise the issue further and don't mind loosing what I've paid for buying the chainsaw but never again will I buy anything from Total tools with the sort of poor experience I've had with the mob so far. I've mentioned them to send me the details and pictures taken by the assessor and repairers that I'm still waiting for to take the matter further. Shall get the updates posted. I've dealt with a lot of different stores over the years, never had issues with anyone of them so far but Total tools ( Coopers Plains).....big no no.

returned the defective bit this morning, the same staff member who sold it to me took one look at it and immediately became dismissive and impatient. His instant conclusion was, "You used it wrong. You pushed too hard." I tried to explain that I weigh 62kg and was drilling overhead, making it impossible to apply excessive force, but he rudely insisted it was my fault.

Seeing the conversation was going nowhere, I simply asked for a store credit. He refused, stating he had to process a refund. He then proceeded to aggressively type on his keyboard while loudly and mockingly saying "three dollars" to himself, drawing the attention of all his colleagues, who turned to stare at me. It was a completely humiliating experience over a faulty $3 item.

For context, my dewalt SDS bit has lasted for years with no issues (just a bit dull now). For a slightly higher price, you can go to Bunnings, where returning a defective item is a straightforward, no-nonsense process. Saving a few dollars at Total Tools is simply not worth the disrespect and humiliation.

I own a business that has a team running renovation work for my customers, and after this incident, I will ensure my team avoids Total Tools for all future purchases.

I returned a Dewalt 18v battery and charger for repair on 9th June 2025 and was told it would take approximately 4 weeks to repair. repair person was right next to them and he'd put them on. I was then placed on hold for 30 minutes until I decided to hang up. I feel like the staff at this store enjoy treating customers with contempt. I rang again and finally found someone who seemed like they would take ownership of the issue, and I gave them the details. Their system only recorded a Dewalt hammer drill and didn't contain any reference to the battery and charger that were dropped off for repair. They said they would call be before the end of the day but again I was let down. I subsequently had to purchase a new battery and charger (not from Total Tools) as I needed to use the drill. I think before you purchase anything from Total Tools you may want to take into consideration what occurs if you require warranty repairs on your product because you may be waiting months for your tools, assuming you ever see them again and the staff aren't going to offer you anything like helpful support. I finally got the product back and it was still broken. After another call and another trip I was finally given a new battery.

range was better than the usual. Prices are consistent with better quality gear. Plenty of parking in front (no disability spaces but they'd be very likely to help carry stuff). I visited on a Thursday mid-morning. Almost had the place to myself... Very happy customer.

Very bad experience! – Very bad experience! I brought a small tool at total tools Coopers Plains only two weeks ago. I tried to return it as without using yesterday. The shop manager refused to refund. He said returning must be in 7 day after porches. He only offered exchanging or shop credit to me. I chose shop credit. Product price in store inconsistent with online pricing – Been doing my research and showing price $29.90 on website, went to store and found it is actually $31.90. Checked the price next day to make sure I was correct, and clearly showing $29.90. Not really impressed although it’s only $2 difference. Show details

Bosch drill combo kit – Great drill and impact driver for medium jobs. easy to handle and great warranty. After i bought this 4 of my work mates bought a kit as well. My kit had a dead battery but the staff were more than helpful to swap the batter.

Great addition to the tool kit – Bought a new 8.0ah Milwaukee battery. Great lifetime and means I’m needing to stop work to swap batteries half as often. Really means I can get a lot more work done in a day.

Product came with a bonus stand, but wasn't in stock, so the young attendant got another one out of pack to see if it would fit. The first tool shop i go too – I only go to one tool shop now, Total Tools. Coopers Plains branch is the nearest to me. It has all the tools & brands i like. The staff don't have an agenda, they just listen and can advise, if you ask, on the_ choice & suitability to you and any feed back coming from previous purchasers. Prices are good too. Show details
