Absolutely terrible experience with Travel Insuranz. I lodged a claim over 6 months ago and have heard nothing back despite multiple follow-ups. were fantastic. In the $16K (which was all our costs) paid to us they even calculated the $ amount for the Qantas points value for the cancellation. We are doing the same holiday next March and will be taking a policy out with them again.

Very happy with this company – Recently went on a cruise where my husband and I caught influenza A and had to isolate the pretty much the entire trip missing all our stops. Put a claim in, the communication was good all the way, 4 weeks after the trip and i had the approval and the payment for my claim into my account. I would not recommend this company at all. I submitted my claim 3 months ago and I have not heard back since. What I was told that my online application vanished and they can't find it so I had provided a tracking number but still unable to track it then I did the whole application process again on paper..... a claim with Travel Insuranz, there was no acknowledgement email from them. I then sent another email on the 26th Nov 24, requesting the status of my claim, GB team replied to me with a claim number. On the 3rd Dec 24 I get an automated email from GB requesting for an extension to review my claim. I've called them to asked the reason behind the delay. On the 10th Dec 24 I've called again to check where are they at with my claim, I left a message, but no one return my call. 3 weeks has passed since I submitted my claim and no outcome from GB insurance. Apparently, the account management person who they assigned my case to, only work 2 days per week. I will NEVER take up a travel insurance with Travel Insuranz underwritten by Gallagher Bassett again. My friends was in the same situation as me who took a travel insurance with Cover 1, already got their claim approved and refunded within 7 days.

Stay Away from Travel Insuranz – Warning - do not insure with Travel InsurANZ - they will try anything to get out of paying a claim. I had my suitcase stolen from the 22nd Floor of the Hilton Hotel at Niagarra Falls (Hilton - never staying there again they were terrible). The case getting stolen was not in dispute - but they came up with 3 different reason to deny the claim -… Read more

each reason was wrong. 1st No evidence from the Hilton - there were emails from them attached to the claim - they had just not bothered to check. 2nd (it was cases outside the room for pickup at 6:30am) - The said the case was outside for 30minutes. It was stolen with in 5 minutes - so wrong again (the emails from the Hilton had this info). 3rd - that teh cases where in a public place - wrong again - the floor's were secure - only guests and staff allowed - you had to key card to get access to floors. I took this to AFCA and they promised that they way that Travel InsurANZ handled this would form part of teh determination - yet amazing - they just backed their own and hung me out to dry - not one mention of the way Travel InsurANZ fished for a way to get out of paying. So please hed this waring - stay clear and do not use them (and dont expect to get any help from AFCA - they just look after their own!)

once it wore off I would be screaming for an hour until the next dose would be administered. The circumstances were already stressful however when we needed my insurance they were incredibly hard to contact and slow to respond to the situation. I was unable to move at all and my Aunty was in communication with them via email. they were oblivious to how severe our situation was and continued to promise us we would we be picked up via ambulance and flown to a better hospital. For three days we were told they were on their way and would be at the hospital in a matter of 4 hours. We had to chase after them a lot and my Aunty sent 85 emails so that we could prompt them to do their job. All the entitlements stipulated in the insurance policy weren’t given to us, we had to force them to do their job and this was extremely difficult as the insurance company actually outsources the people who deal with the customers, it seemed like they had no clue how to do their jobs. This experience was completely horrible and it was consistently inadequate even after I was transported to a different hospital. Do not pick this insurance company

Used sneaky fine print to get out of doing their job – Super slow to process my travel insurance claim only to find some some fine print reason not to cover me for the purchase of new flights when mine were cancelled. I had to follow up to get a response, was then told my claim was going to be rejected and I'd get notice the next day. I asked to speak to a manager, this request was ignored. 2 weeks later it finally comes through rejected.... Will not be using Travel Insuranz ever again! Show details

of logging into my emails / making a police claim .... as I had no phone obviously. You need your own device to certify it is you when logging in to emails these days, I could thus only get into my emails back in Aus at home on my laptop.

Once back home I purchased a new one to replace the stolen one. I got a nice cheaper second hand one. My claim is still rejected because I "didn't report to the police within 24 hours".

Also on this trip I had my bags delayed by 5 days. This meant I had to pay for a parking ticket at the airport when I went to pick them up which was $30. I claimed this as waiting 5 days without clothes was pretty crap. They denied the claim of course. Why? No idea.

You pay nearly $200 for nothing. I would rather have this money go to a charity, not just disappear into nothing and do nothing to help me when I really need it.

longer banking with them or a sibling who paid for the insurance under her card migrated overseas and now all accounts are closed. Not only will you have to continually follow THEM up but they won’t do anything about getting the money they have put into someone else’s account as it “has not bounced and returned back to Travel Insuranz account” The night I filled out the refund form was the same day I emailed their CS team to advise of change of bank details. 3 days later I received an email saying the account nominated that we paid our insurance policy with, was the same one they paid the account in, which someone else has JUST landed free money SMDH. I gave them enough notice, got a reply 3 days later. It still an ongoing issues. I will NEVER and I hope no one else uses these guys for insurance. They deserve to go bankrupt.

to recognise. The question is... if I have all the documents and the airline is going to recognise a refund.. why I want an Insurance?, the idea of having an insurance is to be protected when a “travel agency” or an airline, do not answer or do not recognise a refund.

Frustrated customer – Due to Coronavirus, we have had to cancel our cruise leaving 16th March and rebook another leaving 18th March. . Have tried unsuccessfully to get info from Travel Insuranz as to whether our policy will still be okay as we are going different areas now, but cant get any response from them. Competitive premium with good cover - Update: prompt claim resolution too – PDS is easy to navigate. Seems to provide the cover we need. Happy with website, PDS documents, quote and purchase process. Found good reviews which suggested that some people have been happy with the claims process if they needed it. Update: In mid-2020, we were unable to travel (obviously). If you think you are covered for significant long term medical treatment through to recovery think again! – Suffered a significant fall on day 4 of our trip. Hospitalised due to injuries to knees, neck, head, hands, shoulder and tooth. At least 6 months of physio required as well as dental treatment. with language difficulties it seemed logical to me to start the long haul to recovery when I got home to Australia only to be told that Travel Insuranz won't pay for treatment now I am back in the country.....Apparently I had to have it all overseas and miraculously make a 6 month+ injury get all better in the 3.5 weeks (the length of time overseas)! How does one get 6-9 months treatment in the 3.5 weeks I am overseas (and in a country that doesn't speak English AND while travelling with disabled daughter?). Convenient that none of the phone calls I received (in English) bothered to mention this clause 2 of the policy. Now I am up for thousands of dollars in physio and dental work. Great travel insurance not! Buyer beware. All these years of paying for travel insurance and for it to not pay up when I actually make a claim absolutely stinks.

issues was wrong and listed cloths as valuables and thus not covered. Went through stage 1 of appeal and they determined that that the claim was incorrect so gave me another $100 settlement which took the settlement to 24.87 of value of items lost. The claim process is a joke, the review of the claim was handled by the same person who determined the settlement, this was hardly impartial. Word of warning, like all insurance companies they try to screw you, first asking for receipts of everything stolen, then photos. Kindly told them I would not be providing photos of myself in underwear that was stolen. Word of warning, spectacles (I had two pairs stolen) are classed as valuables and weren't covered in my unattended car!!!! I didn't realise if I stopped to look at a tourist attraction I had to carry three sets of glasses with me - what a joke. My Katmandu jacket not a valuable, but worth more than one set of the glasses and that was covered of course minus the Depreciation. Now up to stage three of the complaint process and I suspect it will take months but you have to stand up to principle. You are supposed to read a 15 page PDS and not miss the one word "spectacles"listed in the valuables section.

Ripped Off – Being charged an additional $26 or 23% more for one extra day on a 14 day policy is a complete rip off. I already asked to be covered for this day in the policy as we are flying overnight. When I went back to check the policy and print it off I find it is short a day and now we get slugged.
