In addition we were able to go to a home and make and eat Jiaozi and have a wonderful culture experience while sharing a meal with several other travelers and our hostess. Next we booked a tour of Shanghai and had a great experience, The tour guide had to do some leg work in order to include the Propaganda Museum that I wanted my wife to see but they made it work out. Finally, we booked a trip to Thailand over a Christmas holiday. Not only did they book our tours but they made arrangements for flights and hotels so all we had to worry about was packing. This was a great trip, we visited Chang Mai, Chang Rai and Bangkok. The tour company was very helpful in Bangkok when my wife injured her ankle and we were unable to complete the tour. The company refunded part of our money, got her ankle check by the medical staff at the hotel and arranged for wheelchair service on our flight home. I have been nothing but happy with the professionalism, flexibility and caring of the staff at Travel China Guide.

Very professional multi-location tour – My three-person family booked a tour from the US, landing in Beijing, where we were met by a knowledgeable and competent tour guide. City. All entry tickets magically appeared. 75% of our meals were provided on the tour, including a lunch at a private house in Beijing. Maggie was magnificent, both in terms of professionalism and competence, but also in terms of being able to nimbly handle a group of 10 that all wanted to go in different directions. Two days later, we were whisked to the airport by the usual van, and Maggie was able to expedite our check in and baggage. After a short flight, we checked in to our hotel in Xian, which had the most wonderful breakfasts. The next morning, as usual, we were met by our guide, Susan, who took us to see the terracotta warriors - truly spectacular. Thereafter, be sure to take the bicycle tour on top of the wall that surrounds Xian. The usual van took us around the city, and then dropped us at the airport the next day. Susan got us all checked in and baggage handled. We took another short flight to Chongqing, and had scorching hot pot before boarding our cruise ship for a 3-day adventure on the Yangtse. Don't miss the evening departure from Chongqing on the deck - see this splendid city light up at night as you depart. Although the boat had seen some age, it was perfectly adequate, and the food was better than expected. We took small sampans up estuaries of the Yangtse, and made a few pagoda stops, before heading to the Three River Gorges. This cruise was the highlight of our trip. We disembarked in Yichang, and our wonderful guide Chuckie customized a day in his city, that included a visit to a tea market, and a special sitting with a tea doctor. We learned quite a bit about tea. Chuckie deposited us at the airport, and we flew to Shanghai. What a magnificent city! Be sure to take the one hour river cruise that gives you a full view of the city. Caveat: there are some shopping stops on the tour, at a jade factory, a pearl factory and a terracotta factory. We were skeptical, but ended up doing our best shopping on these stops, and the prices and quality were better than in the markets. Our whole trip was seamless, from booking (thank you Abbey), to questions, payment and departure. My only advice is to carefully research the visa process - it's a bear, but nothing Travel China Guide can do about that. This was not a Ritz-Carlton tour, nor was it Motel 6 - it was a Sheraton tour, right in the middle. I would highly recommend Travel China Guide.

Great Company – We had a 16 day guided tour of China in 2014. I was somewhat worried booking a trip through the internet. It turned out to be a great one. The guides were excellent on both professional and personal level. The hotels, the flights were all well worth the expense. I checked out other guided tours as well. This was the most reasonable. Reading it you might think that it is too good to be true. We extended our China trip with a day without a guide and traveled to another city (Suzhou). That turned out to be the worst experience. Many people don't speak English. During this year' tour we would have had a harder time in certain parts of Vietnam too.

Bought my train tickets (Hongkong-Changsha) from Travel China Guide. They are efficient and professional. I made an error in my passport details and they corrected it quickly without fuss. I felt. The gratitude cost should be clearer, it is actually compulsory because it is also for the driver and the team behind the scene purchasing various tickets and making sure the tour goes smoothly. You will need to have cash, not many places accept card. May be use Wise or master card to draw cash. Try to travel with smaller luggages because the train rides in and out with big luggages can be hard. You can place the Small bags on the overhead compartment. Bring roll on deodorant, one of the train ride security confiscated spray deodorants and opened alcohol. If you are travelling southern China, sign up with SkyPearl to pre-book seat on line. Tickets ordered on line and delivered to our hotel – Order rail tickets online from the UK for 3 legs of a tour round china. Asked them to deliver the Hotel where we would first needed them (cost around RMB80)> A couple of questions during ordering were quickly sorted by email and the tickets were at the hotel when we arrived. They made the process of booking trains in China painless – Travel China Guide booked all our Chinese trains for us over a holiday period when it's almost impossible to get trains. to have travellers or guides to contact each other before the trip to confirm on the exact meetup point in train station, as travellers could get lost in big station.

The guides in each city were great, the hotels were lovely and all of the meals that were part of the package were exquisite and plentiful and in wonderful restaurants (unlike other trips that friends of ours have done through companies based in the UK). Our small group tour was just that 5 people plus our very knowledgeable and proud Beijinger guide who not only explained the history and the significance of the areas we were there to see but also gave us some really interesting insights into life in Beijing. This made the tour so much more personal.

We are very impressed with China itself - clean, modern and scenic. They have gone to great trouble to preserve and celebrate their heritage and every local we met showed great pride in their homeland.
