Keep send false emails to me
Product seems to work well however they keep sending me emails saying "restore your products" which if did well before it was due to expire and all my devices show expiry date of 2023 however they say they cannot stop the generated emails.
If they cannot do that how can we be assured that they can protect our devices?
This is very very poor service by an security company that is supposed to protect our devices and look after our security on such devices.

Great Antivirus program but stay away from Vault
I have had Trend micro for about 2 years now and never had a problem with the program/platform until I started using their Vault. As the kind guy (Tech dept) told me when I had a problem with the app/program, if you read all the details before agreeing to use this you are told that it, (your precious data) is stored locally on your devise and if anything happens like your O/S fails and you need to reset you windows is lost forever. See the problem is (no choice) they store the vault on the drive that has windows on it and when you reset/recover...windows you wipe that from the drive. So the moral of the story is according to the Tech, back up your data that you have encrypted on this vault, which I kindly said to the tech is exactly why you don't have it backed up on your devise( because the backup is not encrypted) is venerable to loss because for that reason. Another words unless it was cloud based its useless and I have lost all my data stored there. So I would recommend Microsoft one drive vault as a good cloud based alternative, otherwise invest in some large USB's/ or a portable SSD and back your data to them to keep safe.
Avoid at all cost. All they do is try and sell you support which is not worth the e-mail they sent. They did it last year and tried it again this year when I told them they were trying to scan me they quickly tried to get off the phone. No it seems they have blocked my number. Well off to the ACCC I go now so that others don't fall into the same trap. Lucky l kept the e-mails

I bought a laptop from a reputable company in my home time 8 years ago. They offered Trend security at a deal price to go with my new laptop. I thought what the hell I will try it out and wanted to be protected as I use my laptops a lot for work and browsing the web. From then on I bought Trend for 3 consecutive years. Out of 2 years of that protection, each time I got infected with a virus, which I had to get professionally cleaned out and pay even more money to a computer company to do so. After the 2nd time I stopped using Trend for Good. Tr...end is a fake program that will pretend to scan your computer and make out that it is protecting you at all times but it is not at all. DO NOT buy or rely on Trend to protect your computer, there are so many better companies out there, that do such a better job, namely Malwarebytes. Also, I just contacted them after 8 years to delete my data and account from their system, they refuse to do so. Anyone that has bought from them in the past, try it and see if they will delete your account from their data bank....they will NOT do it....only if you are in the EU which they are forced to comply with legally. Anywhere else in the world they will not. I just can't believe what a scummy company this is. They need to be shut down as this is just one huge scam.
Trend Micro Home Security Station, what a waste of time and money
Purchased the Trend Micro Home Network Security Station in May 2020 from Harvey Norman. Purchased this as an added layer of security over the Trend Micro Maximum Security AntiVirus that we already use successfully. Was sold this product eagerly by Harvey Norman with the promise that it is easy to use, straightforward, plug in and go and that Support is very good.
To date, have spent hours with Support, who were very nice, over the past week trying to set this device up to work successfully on our network. After hours of reconfiguring and ...coming to the same road blocks and getting caught in the same troubleshooting loop, we finally managed to set it up so that it would work supposedly as it should. The app that you need to install on your phone - which I didn't find all that easy to navigate or intuative unfortunately - finally gave me the green light that it was providing protection, as it is designed to. Finally! Hours of phone calls and trying to set it up, only to find last night, when we switched on smart devices or rather "tried" to switch on smart devices, that said smart devices would not attach to the internet. The only thing that had changed on our network was the installation of the Trend Micro station. I guess it does as it says - protects your from cyber attacks - as attacks are impossible if your smart device won't connect to your router. Possibly this new issue could have been sorted out, but I just am not willing to spend another who knows how long, down the rabbit hole of trying to work out the problem. Sorry Trend this product just isnt for me. Too many glitches and blocks which arent straight forward to sort out at all. I'll also add, Support asks an awful lot from the consumer in the way of blind trust, when they ask you to go into your router and change its settings so that it can support their device. AM going to attempt a refund from Harvey Norman. Wish me luck...
Total waste of money
Purchased from Harvey Norman in april 2020 , Error code came up, unable to load programme. I was promptly phoned by a friendly so called tech support person who wanted to gain access to my computer. I declined . If Trend Micro can not protect their system from scammers and hackers how can I trust this system to protect my computer. A wasted seventy five dollars.
March 2020. Put on Trend purchased from Officeworks. Error code came up and contacted what we thought was correct support service $308 later after purchasing added security and they accessed our computer we realized something not right. Then looked at these forums and saw we had been scammed.
Easier to download second time
On my second attempt to download the protection was easier. Be careful to enter the correct web addresses provided. On my first attempt of downloading I dialled the customer service which was terrible. They were rude and told I needed to pay a further $80 for a technician to fix my internet connection. Will now wait to see how good the product is
I bought Trend Micro Maximum Security as part of a new computer package from Harvey Norman, with the assurance that it was quick and easy to download and instal.
I found the Trend Micro site complex, confusing and unfriendly.
Nonetheless I managed to download and install the programme, only to find it refused to be "Activated", responding to activation attempts with error messages that could not be resolved through the help process.
I have given up, written off my purchase cost as waste and gone back to Norton, which by comparison is simple and straightforward.
Someone's got to balance out the idiots
Trend Micro provide very competitive, if not perfect security, complimentary customer support, and a trailer full of extras including banking protection and a literal invisible backup of chosen files safe from ransomware.
The vast majority of reviewers here are angry because they typed trend into google, clicked the top link and blindly followed the bouncing ball right into the middle of the road. Read your booklet containing your key and use the correct URL, or google the company and pick the accurate Trend Micro link that isn't an ad. It is...n't Trend's fault you assumed the path of least resistance was the correct one. While Trend does have flaws - the unactivated Android version is painfully pop-up and notification riddled, and while their active protection is excellent, their malware defense has been shown to underperform - their customer support and installation process are not some of those flaws. I have dealt with them both as an end user and a business client multiple times before with no issue. Do some research - this is your banking, emails, Facebook messages, pictures of the kids and client's paperwork we're talking about, not a coffee mug. Check that Trend is for you, and then find the correct website and read the features and requirements. Set up the Vault and folder shield. Don't take the easy route and then complain here when Trend fail to protect you from a scammer before you've even downloaded their program.
DONOT BUY- considerably slowed my laptop
I was using Norton but bought Trent AntiVirus Max security for a change. It has considerably slowed my laptop to an extent that I am uninstalling this "PAID" version of Trent Antivirus and buying Norton again. It is not a good product.
Purchased anti virus software in 2019 but it never worked and they were never interested to help me, I eventually gave up and went elsewhere which I have been completely happy with. Now 12 months later the clowns have kept my credit card details and "auto paid" the next 12 month subscription. I have NEVER authorised them to keep my details. Because they debited an account that had no money in it, my bank then charged me $30 overdrawn fee, I have tried to recoup this from them but of course they don't want to know about it. BEWARE - Do not give them credit card details read other reviews where they have been continously doing this to people.
Product does not load
Purchased this from an official supplier who activated the serial number.
After 4 hours 'chat' with technical support they eventually sent me back to the supplier as the 'Serial number is not activated'.
And chat did not allow me to return message.
Requested a refund. I've got better things to do with my time!
Terrible Customer Service
I've been waiting 40+ days to get a refund. Every time I contact them they keep telling me they are waiting for a response from Digital River. I've contacted them around 4 times in the last 30 days and keep getting the same, we're waiting form DR and that someone will contact me. It never happens. By far the worst experience I've had trying to get a refund. I'd give them negative 5 stars if that was possible.
I am posting this in the hopes that someone, who has some actually authority to do something, will contact DR and get them to do somethi...ng to progress my refund. All I get is wait 5 business days, I wait those days, contact them again and get told to wait again. Rinse and repeat. The guy who has been assigned my case last contacted DR on the 25th of November and I've heard nothing from him since. I was hoping to get this resolved by the end of the year but I don't see that happening.

I purchased the software from JB Hi Fi and when I entered the product code details I was faced with a error code on my screen. When I called the number to resolve the problem I was told I needed to pay $199 for extra security. The person was the phone was rude and manipulating.

I use multiple Chrome tabs and Skype for work and Trend Micro just couldn't handle it! My laptop went SO SLOW :(
I logged a customer support case within the same week I installed and they said I needed an upgrade (after 6 days?!) but that didn't help. And then they just closed the case and didn't offer any further resolution except for me to use less applications (reminder: I'm using Google Chrome + Skype!)
I had to disable the Trend Micro toolbar in Chrome, the scanning settings, and pretty much disable the whole application. I'm so di...sappointed that I money on a product that I can't use. I tried to leave a review online after getting their "Review our product" link and, not surprisingly, they rejected the review because it wasn't a glowing review! I'd like to think that I can get the word out to anyone who uses their computer to access the internet and runs more than 2 programs at any one time...this will suck the life out of your CPU and slow everything right down!
Tried to download Trend Micro and next thing I'm getting a call from tech, not knowing any different they start going over the error code I'm recieveing when trying to install the software. After about 30 mins on the phone with the lady now gaining access to my system I'm told my computer will need to go off for repair or can be done live costing $149. This is when alarm bells start ringing. I decline and phone Trend Micro support instantly and told this is a tech scam. Crazy, punch in Trend Micro details - The Ultimate Defence in a Connected W...orld - and get hacked. How'd they get my details? Why doesn't Trend Micro do something about this?? I explained to the customer service and he just basically said 'it is what it is' then ended the call. They didn't give a toss!! Stay away, use Norton.

Has anyone received the Cash Back that ended Dec 2014 .......... Contacted them and still no cash back? OK Micro Trend looks like next time I need internet security I won't be buying your product. That is so dishonest to do this to your customers ....... Still waiting on Cash Back ...... maybe this company is having money issues !!!!!
Try buying Trend Micro on E bay next time. I buy from a company called PC online. Bought Trend Micro 2015 version Maximum Security for 2 devices for $29.00 dollars which included postage. Delivery time 4 days. The best Trend Micro could do on the same product was $75.00 dollars and Office Works and Harvey Norman weren't much cheaper. Personally I don't worry about Cash Back schemes when I can get the same product on line at a far cheaper price. I would suggest check out PC online you might be pleasantly surprised at their deals.

After many phone calls and a long wait time the cash back was finally paid. .
For 2017 I was able to get a six devices internet security for under $60 with no cash back to worry about this year from Harvey Norman it was $130 retail sticker on it and was on sale. I now buy internet security mid year when it sells at the cheapest price.
