Terrible service - complete lack of professionalism and competency
Cannot stress this enough - DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES
Absurdly unprofessional behaviour and utterly unclear communication. I have never written a bad review before even when the services are sometimes subpar. But this company is really getting on my nerve.
Here's my situation: Booked a flight and had to cancel due to a change of schedule. Refund amount was first advised to be initially said to be ~$500. After I confirm I agree to this amount they suddenly say they can't refund this amount because I did not confirm soon enough. I was not told ...that I've got a specific deadline to make this decision by. To make things worse, while this matter is still being discussed via email/in dispute, they went ahead, without asking, and refunded the reduced amount (~$200). Now they are saying they can't process the original amount to me because the new refund has gone through. Why they would just process whatever amount they feel like paying instead of waiting to finalise a dispute is beyond me. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is to write an email saying "we need your confirmation by xx/xx/xxxx otherwise your refund amount will change" instead of "refund might change...refund will be in your account in 2 weeks...please confirm". (sarcasm) Do not put yourself through their lack of competence and unprofessionalism.

Rubbish. Stupid staff not helpful.
I bought connecting ticket from this rubbish site for my uncle. One flight was delayed that's why asked them to change the connecting flight also. Stupid staff always misguided me
The sectors I booked for our flights were reversed on the tickets, was told it was our problem. Three days of calls, emails, they wouldn’t budge. Had to go direct to airline and it cost $700 for the changes. I thought I was using an Australian site, however it operates out of China. Do NOT use this company, total scammers. We saved so hard for a family holiday and now are out of pocket and have to change many of our plans.
We booked flights with on Trip.com despite the poor reviews but we are experienced travellers so we double checked the booking before submission.
However the Itinerary came back with one incorrect name on our infant. We contacted Trip.com to amend the booking but Trip.com claimed that Korean Airlines would not allow name changes and we should cancel the booking at a fee (of course so they can charge the fees and then resell the flights)
So we contacted Korean Airlines and they explained that they would never disallow name amendments and they we...
Unreliable service. Booked a flight May2019 and re booked me in dates Oct2019 that are not applicable to my itinerary costing me more money. Their customer service is as bad over in terms of resolution. Never again. Melbourne Australia.

Train booking cancelled without explanation
I booked a China rail trip well in advance of the travel date. On the date the train tickets were supposed to be issued I received an email from Trip saying the booking has been cancelled without any explanation. It has upset my travel plans. Same thing happened to my friend. If Trip cannot issue the ticket then it must not accept the booking. I am extremely disappointed. Do not, I repeat, do not use Trip to book your China rail tickets. Be forewarned.
I got scammed too!! but my bank helped me dispute the transaction
I booked a ticket for my dad a few days ago through skyscanner-Trip.com it was fine. Then i booked one for my mom two days later, I was sure I chose the same flight as my dad's (as I when back and double check) but it came out with a different flight. I called Trip.com and explained the situation, and asked if its possible that Skyscanner had provided wrong information to Trip.com, the man from their call center in Scotland said he totally understanding where im coming from, but the only thing they can do it to cancel the flight and rebook. I a...sked if there will be cancellation fee, he said no, and you will be able to get $289 back (we paid $540 originally) . I asked again what the difference for, is that a cancellation fee? He then again said no. He said it is a service fee for cancellation. I was mad and said its not fair that I need to bear the cost. Then I got cut off…. Then I started to think that computer normally dont make stupid mistake like human being. Perhaps it was me who clicked the wrong flight. But my mind told me that I did double check and confirm. I then went online and search for other people’s review of Trip.com. Their reviews on Skyscanner are very good then I found out that Trip.com is the parent company of Skyscanner. Until I found productreview, I read your stories and I am sure I was scammed too!!! I contacted my bank to report fraudulent transaction. I explained that even it was me who fill in all my credit card information on the website, but I was not given the product/service that I asked for. I also send them a link of Trip.com’s review from Product Review. And the bank said they would dispute the payment for me. I then email Trip.com and express my suspicion that their website has been deliberately designed to change information that customers enter, so that they can charge fees for changes. They replied my email and said their IT Team have done investigation, and found out that the flights on the itinerary are what I originally booked. Then they mentioned that if you want to cancel you would be able to get $249 back, which is different as the guy from the Scotland call center told me - $289. I emailed back and ask: is inconsistency one of your company polices? I also said im not surprised of the result of the so-called investigation because Skyscanner is Trip.com’s subsidiary sure you two can cover for each other and manipulate facts. Trip.com then reply and said they would double check with refund and sent me another email said the cancellation fee is CNY1200…. Im sick of arguing with them and just about to give up. And my bank just called me and said they have got my money back…. Thank god and thank you for the help from Julie (from AMP)… PS: Trip.com is owned by Ctrip which is a huge online travel agent in China, who has quite good reputation in China though to be honest. Acquiring Trip.com and Skyscanner is one of their global strategies. As an overseas Chinese, I am happy to see more Chinese companies expand their business to overseas market but at the same time I feel shame of any of their doggy conducts and do wish they can abide to local rules and laws and bring real cool stuffs to the world. If you can speak Chinese I recommend that you call mainland China hotline and asked for someone who can speak Mandarin/Cantonese for help. For me I feel people speak the same native language tend to more understanding and willing to help, which just my personal opinion no offence.

Incorrect Name on ticket and could do nothing about it but cancel & rebook with airline
I was going through the Itinerary this morning and double checking all the bookings and noticed that one of the passenger names for a flight we booked through trip.com was incorrect. They'd put my first name twice, one for each passenger. So my partners name has my name as their first name as well. I contacted them to attempt to correct the name and they said they were unable to change the name. They said the following in an email which makes no sense:
'By the way, because the ticket is issued by the agency. It may not be able to be recognized ...
dodgy website DO NOT USE
I booked a flight through Trip.Com. is said that the payment has been processed and that I will receive a confirmation email in a few hours. Nothing came through and when I called them they could not find any record of my booking. By then the price of the flights had gone up significantly and they could not assist at all.
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE AS IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
Changed flight details then refused to give a refund
5th of August booked a domestic flight in Australia that was to depart on the 31st of August 2019.
16th August 2019 Trip.com changed the flight details completely and as such, I requested an immediate refund given the "products and services" were "not" as described. I got told a refund would be done within 14 days upon lodging a refund request.
29th August 2019 Trip.com "Advised the refund will occur in 10 days.
30th August Trip.com wrote to me and stated "The refund should appear in the bank card account in the next 14 days. "

Trip.com offer the best deal flying to Sydney from China.
Trip.com offer the best deal flying to Sydney from China. I have no problems booking my ticket on their website. They issued my ticket within an hour. Soon as I received the ticket, I checked my name , it was correct. I would recommend this website to my family and friends for future travels.
Wait and See
Booked recently through Skyscanner. Got a very good deal but was unsure of reliability, so checked on the airline website with the reference number I was given. It said booking cancelled, even though I had not cancelled it. I spent a long time waiting to speak directly to the airline to see if the booking still existed. After a lot of help and checking from them, I gave them the e-ticket number instead and was given an entirely different reference number. Speaking to Trip.com shortly after they sent a further email saying the one the airline gave me was the correct one. I have yet to fly out, but feel more confident now I am able to see my booking on the airline website. Fingers crossed all goes well from now on.
Don’t booked from this website
I just got scammed as well , they purposely messed up 1 alphabet of my name .When I ask to change it properly ,they asking $167 in 1 hrs have to be paid , if you missed the link ,the next day they asking for $200 saying the price will be changing everyday depend regulation. Never ever booked from this website.im still fighting for my flight next week .
Do not purchase through this website
They will purposely stuff up the names on your ticket and then say they will only
Change the names for $150.00. Save your money and go elsewhere. Rude staff who have no idea what they are doing and no care factor what so ever .

Dishonest Trip.com is TRASH! AVOID AVOID AVOID
So please avoid purchasing from this online agent. They have a very dishonest practice of charging for tickets that have not been received. They have no validation email link which would confirm receipt of the ticket but yet they charge your account anyway. I highly suggest you purchase through more reputable companies such as Expedia, Priceline, or Booking.com. Terrible company and I've gotten nothing but lip-service regarding a ticket I never received yet they charged for. BUYER BEWARE!!!
Wrong passenger details again??
I have a similar problem to others. Booked China Southern Airlines with Trip.com. Arrived ok but return flight was cancelled. China Southern refused to change my flight home as the passenger details (passport number) on ticket was incorrect. This was not picked up on the flight to China from Melbourne. I paid $800 for a one way ticket home. After several months of debate now I am told that I will receive nothing for the cancelled flight. Apparently, 'since the outbound flight fare is higher than the round trip'.
Do Not Book with these Clowns
This Company should be put out of business they are the biggest scammers i have had the misfortune to use. Booked a flight with them using there website to Melbourne filled out the required pages with the correct details as observed by 2 other people. conformation came through via trip.com checking details it had wrong passenger details so phoned them up and there attitude was appalling they refused to take responsibility for there errors yes there mistake and refused to refund money. trip.com i hope you go out of business very soon. if you decide to book with these clowns then you have been warned
