assured me that the quote — including complimentary delivery and storage — was valid until Monday. Sensible enough, I thought. Fast-forward to Monday, I call to finalise the purchase, only to be informed that the complimentary delivery supposedly expired the day before. How convenient. This directly contradicted what I had been told; and my friend, who stood right beside me at the time, can attest to that. When I attempted to discuss this blatant discrepancy, [Name Removed] response was a dismissive, “the decision by my director regarding the delivery fee is final.” Translation: We said what we said, but now we’re saying something different, and you’ll just have to deal with it. If you value retailers who negotiate in good faith, honour their own words, or show even a hint of transparency, let me save you some time - Trit House Hawthorne is not that retailer. Buyers, consider yourselves warned. Your money, and your sanity, will be far better spent elsewhere.

fluctuate, I found it really disappointing that there was no flexibility or goodwill offered, especially given how quickly the change occurred. It left me feeling like my purchase wasn’t valued, and unfortunately it’s made me hesitant to shop here again.
EDIT: Customer service has since reached out and offered the difference in store credit, which I greatly appreciate. While I was disappointed with how the situation began, I’m thankful they took the time to make it right.

wooden furniture at home and I am very familiar with natural wooden imperfections. However, since this is just too prominent and right on top of the coffee table, which I am supposed to display in the centre of my lounge, I would like to get this exchanged. I also asked them to look at the product display pictures on their website and show me a single "knot" on those images (which obviously didn't have any). After a lot of to and fro, the customer support team refused to exchange this defected product and said the only way I can return this is by shipping it back to them for another $110 within 7 days. They rejected all my requests to exchange this and said this can only qualify for a return under "Change of mind" policy and I had to pay the return shipping. End result, I had to pay $220 out of pocket ($110 for first time shipping + $110 for return shipping) just to send this defected product back, which should never have passed the quality checks in the first place. This was my first purchase from Trit House, and definitely my last one as well.
Still boggles my mind how companies like Trit can get away with sending defected products to customers and actually charge them ridiculous shipping fee to send it back. Planning to lodge a formal complaint with ACCC.

Top notch quality and style! – I got a sideboard, rug, lamp and some cushions from the store - their products were all of top quality. I would’ve taken the whole shop home if I could! waiting, I’ve now been told that the delivery will not happen until October – more than a month later than originally agreed. This delay is unacceptable, and the lack of communication and accountability makes it even worse. At no point did anyone proactively update me; I had to chase them for answers, only to be met with excuses.
What’s even more frustrating is how quick they were to take my money, yet they’ve completely failed to deliver on their promises. A company that values its customers should keep its commitments or at least offer transparency and alternatives.
This experience has been nothing but stressful and disappointing. I will never shop here again and strongly advise others to think twice before doing business with them. They clearly don’t value customer satisfaction or basic honesty.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

I understand that wood is a natural product and as such can have some imperfections, however this actually impacts the use of the table, making it not fit for purpose. I reported all this to Trit house and have repeatedly been told it is my own fault and due to wear and tear (sharp objects). They refuse to acknowledge the fault or provide any sort of rectification. Horrendous customer service by Zac – We bought a table made of stone and a TV stand. The table arrived with a mark in the middle; hence we did not accept delivery. However they (Zac) kept saying that it was change of mind and were forced to comply with their contradictory contractual agreements. no table. We traveled 4 hours to get to the warehouse so we were less than impressed. Eventually the manager said that the table might be in the other warehouse so we had to drive to that warehouse. Thankfully it was there but this blew our schedule out completely. This effected our 4 hour return trip back home as we could no longer run any other errands. There were a lot of disappointed phone calls letting people down about how we were no longer able to make it back in time. Then they suggested cleaning with Brasso, which I also did. Despite the product not being fit for purpose, they are refusing to offer a replacement or repair, claiming it is not covered under the 1 year warranty as they claim it does not extend to general wear and tear (even though I'd had the table for 2 months). They refuse to refund or replace as they claim as the mark was not present on delivery, it is considered to be wear and tear. This is despite pointing out to them the legal consumer guarantees and rights in Australia. They don't care. I would avoid ordering anything online with this company.

staff were not sure when the delivery would occur. The staff thought delivery would possibly be the following week. Given this was floor stock this was not a pre order and therefore the issue was not freight or customs. Trit do specify they can not confirm deliveries on preorders but this was floor stock as stated above. They did not communicate delivery could be an issue and if I had known I would have picked up the furniture myself. The staff were dismissive of my concerns and not helpful.

Item still not received after 5 months – I ordered a vase back in September 2021. It is almost March 2022 and I still have not received it. After several emails seeking ETA, I was offered an alternate vase which I don’t like. I’ve requested a refund. I’ve followed up with two emails asking for a response and I am yet to receive one. Lack of communication is frustrating and so far the lack of a refund as I haven’t received the product feels like theft.

Not recommended – Don't buy from here. We purchased 6 walnut and leather chairs but received the wrong (or faulty) colour and they refused to take them back.
