I have a Labrador puppy called Vinny and we signed up to trupanion when we got him and luckily so, as we have had a bit of a rocky first year. In July 2025 Vinny was bitten by another dog and required an emergency visit and stitches which was a big bill. Trupanion actioned and paid my claim within 12 hours of the incident happening which completely took away that financial stress for us. I have been with TRUPANION for 3 years now, and the policy is really good value and so easy to set up, free 1st month trial also. When lodging claims, they refund direct to the vet for a gap payment and it is instanteous and payments to me within 2 days.

Our little Milo fractured both his legs within one week of each other (unlucky is an understatement) and then re-fractured his first leg. He had two lots of surgeries with pins and screws, several xrays and medication. Thank goodness Trupanion came to the party. Fast forward a few months and during a routine vaccination appointment/examination the vet suspected Twiggy had resorptive dental lesions and needed to put her under a general to make a full assessment and diagnosis. Sure enough Twiggy was diagnosed with resorptive lesions and needed 2 molars removed. With Trupanion coverage we only paid $656.77 from a $2,456.30 bill! The vet's receptionist managed all the admin and the rebate came off the bill immediately so we were never out of pocket.

I would 100% recommend using Trupanion for pet insurance!

happy with Trupanion’s service & cover. Unfortunately Fergus was diagnosed with idiopathic mega oesophagus. He didn’t respond well to the medications so he is being managed by being fed vertically in a Bailey’s chair & wears a neck pillow at night. Here’s a picture of him in the chair.

My dog, Maple had his tumour removed (fortunately it was not cancerous), from initial blood tests plus medication for his liver as the vets found out that his liver's blood test was not good to the surgery, 90% of the expenses were covered by Trupanion without any hassles. Best pet insurance in Australia! Paid 90% of eligible veterinary bills within 24 hours. I chose a large $1000 excess to keep the monthly premiums low. Have been with Trupanion for about 5 years. Really appreciated having the cover as in the last month my Maltese/Shi Tzu 10 year old dog had about $8000 in vet bills to treat a tumour on her liver. they have been very easy to claim thru, and when I needed to confirm I was entering details right, the person I spoke to was very extremely helpful. Claims have been processed fast and it is very easy to do using the online portal, and payment received within a week of uploading invoices. Having pet insurance has definately been peace of mind for me, I have been able to not worry about the cost of treatment for my dog, and just say yes to whatever my dog has needed knowing that most treatments will be covered.
