I am stuck with Ultiqa until 2081!! Ill be 115 years old by then!! How the heck is that even allowed? My family have to manage my debt when I'm gone? I can't even remember when I signed up with them. It's been 20,000 points each yr that actually can't be used yearly as there are no locations that are that low unless you go only for a weekend and… Read more
at the wrong time of year for that location, so a time at which is least popular and not ideal. It's easy been 20yrs and I think I can honestly say I've had less than 10 holidays through them as nothing is ever available. Even trying to book a year ahead. The one chance I had to get out was COVID, I was an unemployed full-time student on Centrelink and I had not read any information anywhere advising getting out was an option. Then I get an email and a phone call about being behind. I stupidly agreed to pay a tiny amount each fortnight so I wouldnt end up with a bad credit rating. I should have forfeited, it would have been easier to rebuild me credit rating than wait till I'm 115yrs old to get out of the contract.
Has anyone got out of this? 13years later I’ve stated last 6 years we don’t want this. I can’t afford this as we have recently separated. I am now going through fair trading. Has anyone been successful in cancelling their account?
Worst customer service. Bullied. Left in the middle of the night – Horrendous. Left in the middle of the night. Don't waste your money. Despite the rules this is a party location. Staff completely uninterested in helping. Cannot get any help outside of 9-5 M-F despite the luxury rate. When I asked for help the night manager bullied us, tried to put us on hold until we 'went away' instructing the team to do the… Read more
same. Would not help us even leave. You have to do all the cleaning including putting things away. Unsure if they actually have a cleaning service. Somewhere for $50/night has better service.

Great location for families or couples – Love the location. Used my free night. This place is stylish and surrounded by everything you need. I love kings beach area. If we had more time i would have stayed longer. Show details

Expensive but offers benefits to those who can travel – We have been members for approx 10 years and holiday locations include New York close to Central Park, the Jockey Club in Las Vegas, a Princess Eastern Mediterranean cruise, plus several Aussie locations with family and friends. We anticipate using the membership more now I have retired and passing on holiday points to our family and their… Read more
families. Definitely not for everyone if you don't have the inclination and time to holiday. Staff have always been helpful in assisting with holiday planning and bookings.
Excellent – No extra fees and we are still to book. Lovely friendly people steve -ree and steve were amazing and very very good at what they both do. If it was 10 years ago we would have jumped at this Show details
Can't wait to come back – It was easy to book and the customer service lady was very helpful. There was no additional fee. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment. It was easy to adjust the booking. I will be excited to be back again. Show details

Whats going on – Just read that ultiqua has gone into liquidation why were we not told, been trying to exit this since we got conned into it back in 2015 can never use it always everything booked but quite happy to take the money. Where do we stand now
The biggest legal scam in this country! Profiting from vulnerable people who hate their services – My father and step mother signed up to their holiday club in 2014, paying a whopping $17,000 joining fee, which they got a loan to pay for (which was also financed by a sister company Pacific Brokers who went into liquidation 2 years ago). In their sales pitch my parents were told they would get free or very cheap holidays at locations all over… Read more
Australia and the world.
Which to them, seemed too good to be true. A lifetime of holidays with their kids & grandkids for $800 a year annual fee. They were also told they could sell back their share if they didn’t want it any longer. What they didn’t know at the time was there were NO properties available at all in Tasmania (where one half of their family were), and the closest one to their family in Victoria was a 2 hour drive away.
Coupled with this disappointment after already signing up, my step mum went through terminal illness until her passing last year. So during the short periods where she was well enough to travel, they started finding that the bookings were not as flexible as they believed, and often had to search months or years in advance at specific properties to try and make bookings, but could never guarantee that she would be well at the time. So just stopped booking.
They tried to cancel their membership, only to be met with legal clauses and suggestions such as “you can transfer it to someone else, but we don’t buy the shares back”. Which is where the confusion set in. They believe that in their sales pitch, they were told they could sell it back, but the company say they only tell people they can “transfer” or sell, to someone else. But nobody wants to buy these time shares! I have spoken to one who has been trying to sell her mother’s share for 2 years with not a single enquiry. The only option out of this scheme now is to die! Or if you can prove financial hardship, in a procedure where they request copies of your bank statements, pay slips, pension cards, medical records etc. Extremely invasive. However, the financial hardship process is only relatively new since their fine from ASIC.
This company is shady. They have many sister companies.
The Holiday Club (now known as Ultiqa Lifestyle), is a Registered Investment Scheme (not a company), but this is where the customers sign up to, and get their points to redeem for holidays.
The sale of memberships was conducted by Holiday Club Pacific Limited (not known as Ultiqa Lifestyle Promotions). And THIS was the company who was fined for dodgey sales practices by ASIC. They ultimately went into liquidation and avoided the pentalties, which are still unpaid.
They then quickly opened another company, Ultiqa Lifestyle Points, which no longer sells new memberships, but runs the background Investment Scheme (Ultiqa Lifestyle).
And on top of all of this, they had another company Pacific Brokers, who were the lending company, providing finance to the customers wanting to sign up for the exorbitant joining fees. Who were also ordered to pay back $3million dollars to customers, who were given finance without any credit checks or responsible lending, ensuring the customers were actually able to pay back their loans.
It is a despicable situation. And their membership numbers are declining. They said in a statement to A Current Affair recently that they had 1,300 bookings in the past 12 months, however in 2021 they had 12,300 members. This is less than 10% of their members actually making a booking! Which demonstrates how many people are unhappy with the scheme.
If you are on this page, or Google Reviews you can see HUNDREDS of unhappy customers who want out.
In my Dad’s experience, they finally gave him the option to apply for special consideration once they learnt that he was now on an Aged Pension, but before he divulged that news to them, they were unwavering on their stance. However they are yet to process this application.
They may be legal and compliant, but they are sure unethical. And there is a facebook group for people who wish to join called Ultiqa Lifestyle Victims.
SCAM!!!!!!!! – If I could give this SCAM of a company zero stars I would. We paid $10,000 and never ONCE taken a holiday and unfortunately weren't clearly told that we'd be charged $199 annually until 2032. I've tried to cancel several times but they won't do it. Disgraceful, cruel people that literally pray on families.

Please search their name as ASIC relation and do not use this scam company! – Illegal scammers, it’s Cigno Loans in a different form. Bending rules and ripping Aussies off, already fined for it but want to keep scamming as much money as they can before being shut down. Does Mark Swanepoel own this too? Show details

Never helpful, round and round in circles, and not happy with the whole set up – Having once again tried to make a booking with little satisfaction, I was relocated from phone number to phone number to try and ascertain how this system works. Having been talked into this scam scheme probably 14 years ago, and paying an annual membership fee every year since, I am sadly out of pocket. I have read all the appalling reviews of… Read more
dissatisfied customers, and also the Judgement of the Federal Court of Australia ASIC division v. Ultiqa Lifestyle Promotions Limited and find your company is in liquidation pursuant to QUD354 OF 2021. How is it you are still able to charge a fee if in fact your company is in liquidation?? I am truly angry and suspect my money is long gone, but since your company has been in liquidation since 2021 then I would at the very least like my membership fees (which would appear to be worthless) to be refunded to me. I have never had a holiday with what was originally Holiday Club, since it was always too hard to arrange with your company.
I will be joining many other very unhappy, dissatisfied and angry customers in any further claims against your company and will be reporting to ASIC that your company is still charging fees which it would appear they are not entitled to do.
I look forward to a refund as soon as possible, and your co-operation would be appreciated. A cheque would do nicely, as I would not trust your company with my bank details.
Stressed out – We got involved in The Holiday Club, as it was then called, more than 20 years ago and were told that to opt out you just sold your timeshare which wouldn’t be a problem! Absolutely untrue as it turns out. We have kept paying our annual fees and have had several holidays but in accomodation that looks nothing like what we were shown on the Gold… Read more
Coast. I feel sick about how much money we have wasted over the years. We really just want out but haven’t had any luck in our attempts so far.
Ultiqa Lifestyle SCAM – Have been paying $1000's for years. Impossible to get anything like the deals they told when were hoodwinked into joining Ultiqa. How do we get out of this Scam.
Has anyone heard of or got anywhere with a class action against this group?
How do I get out of this membership SHAM – We joined in 2011 The Holiday Club but now called ULTIQA, and only ever have had 2 holidays because we could never get a place when and where we wanted. When we said we wanted to cancel membership we were told we can not ever cancel. Surely there has to be a way out? We are now Pensioners and have lost much finance over all these years on top of… Read more
our our initial outlay of nearly $10,000 plus the Annual Fee Statement of $199 I also have friends who want to get out as well.
Lie to sell membership & lifetime obligated to pay membership fees but once locked in you can't get out – I paid over $25,000 for my membership; however, I'm still paying $750 - $800 in annual membership fees regardless of whether I go on holiday or not. They tell you that you can give holidays to your friends and sell them if you can't go, at the point of sale, but that's a lie just to mislead you into signing up for their membership. I just found… Read more
out that you can't sell them. However, you are locked in, and you MUST pay the annual membership fees, even if you can't use it because there are no holidays available when you need them. Recently, I gave my booked holiday to my friend because I couldn't make it, but because I also advertised it on Facebook, they cancelled the booking and took away all the points as well. So my friend can't go on holiday, and I lost all my booked points! They are like a tyranny, 'obey or I'll cancel your membership.' Such poor members' service, instead of looking into why a member tried to sell, they just shut them down with authority, whatever they can do! Such horrible behaviour. I'm truly disgusted by their attitude and their unwillingness to help members.
Scam that you cannot get out of – Purchased our membership in a high pressure selling pitch. We were told we could sell our membership at anytime which is not true. Never able to book accommodation when we need it and paying hefty yearly maintenance fees. Want out but cannot.
There is some hope to escape – I went through asic to cancel my membership and although I could not get a refund from ultiqa I did recover 11 thousand dollars from Future Finance who is ultiqa's scam money lender. Just stop paying them they don’t dare take you to court. It would expose them. Show details
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT JOINING – Just like everyone else here I am also a ultiqua victim, I got conned into paying off a 15 year membership 12 years ago of nearly 10k and used it once for a holiday in Darwin, needless to say the hotel was a dump. For the last 11 years I have been trying to get out with no success until this year with a few threats they have finally agreed to… Read more
waive my final membership fees, I have to sign some paperwork to agree that I won't be able to use the service once it's waived! I really don't think that's going to happen as I never want to see or hear from them again and I told them that. Please don't even think about joining. I'm hearing rumours that they are going down but how is this possible after years if ripping people off? Anyway whatever happens do not join.
How can I leave this club, – i have read in this review that Ultiqa is in liquidation, is this correct, I am due to pay my annual fee and dont know what to do.

Help I still paying 22k!!!!!!! – How do we get out?not 1 booking since June 2016 It’s depressing Wouldn’t take no as an answer. Deposit to join went from 3k to 2k to 1k to 500 to $150.We just got married too.I bet those scratches were all winners
Ultiqa Lifestyle – This is a scam we have had this for probably 8 years and never used it. The hotels were dearer than going through booking.com We pay $300 a year and for what. I have told them I won’t be paying and then I get letters and phone calls from debt collectors. Show details
Utliqua Is A Scam Of The Highest Order – Beware , beware, beware. No exit clause means you are liable for annual maintenance fees of $1000 (+) till the day you die - and THEN , it gets passed onto your estate / children. If that's not a scam, i do not know what is. Absolutely disgraceful and they should be prosecuted. I see their are people starting to band together for a class action. About time this company got what is owing to it - jail.
DISGUSTING SCAM ARTIST – Scared into a 10 grand loan who have bow defaulted me and reward my credit rating for 5 years for something we never even used or we able to use absolutely disgusting SCAM SCAM SCAM
Big on talk, low on service – They talk a big game to get people in, in reality they don't provide anywhere near what they promised. A lot of their rooms are run down and hardly the luxury they sell you on. There are lots of little extra charges when you stay to get services a normal hotel gives you for free. After getting your signature their customer service disappears. Show details
Nearly got scammed – We won a ticket too a few years ago and also signed up but upon thinking bad thoughts about this I rang up and sent cancelation within the cooling off period. Thank God I backed out in time. Definitely good scammers. Show details
Ultiqa lifestyle problems – Found this - interesting on ASIC re problems and court proceedings We have had our membership for years and heaps of issues. I am disappointed if they have invoiced annual fees if in liquidation. https://asic.gov.au/about-asic/news-centre/find-a-media-release/2021-releases/21-288mr-asic-sues-timeshare-company-ultiqa-for-poor-financial-advice-outcomes/
Who ever reads this, STAY AWAY from this scheme!! I am not a bot haha – I'm writing on behalf of my Aunt who's in a home now, she's safe and well. I have no vested interest in the service that they provide or the monthly direct debt that the company took from my Aunt for the last two decades, to which the last time the service was used was circa 2009. There was a 5 year span where there no comms/campaigns from the company to re-engage/promote the use of service. Bottom line, avoid ULTIQA completely!!
