Sold item as "new" which was resealed by Umart which i had not noticed at the time of purchase. Wanted to return on grounds of this but was not offered any refund or compensation. I was accused of being the one who opened it and have since not returned to Umart for business and from reading other reviews it's best to just shop elsewhere. Show details
Went to the Mansfield store since the Eight Mile Plains store was being renovated. A simple order of 3 items took them almost an hour to bring out. Got home and the 4 tb Western Digital Red Hard Drive that I bought - mostly due to it higher duty cycle and warranty was 'dead on arrival'. I returned it with ir packaging within a week and it was… Read more
confirmed to be dead in the Milton store. They said that it had to go back to the manufacturer for confirmation of the fault and a repair or replace. It is almost 2 months and I have received 2 emails - neither outlining a return date and no replacement or refund in sight! There is no response to any emails. The customer service is appalling. I will never buy from here again and warn anyone else to avoid them.
Review for Umart online as whole. Bought 3 toshiba 20TB HDD. Hdd shipping box opened as soon as I got my external HDD exclosure to install the Toshiba HDDs a few days after getting Hdds. On opening box noted all HDD enclosures damaged. 2 of them the metal enclosures had dents, 1 the part for the PCB board was cracked and bent. All 3 returned to… Read more
Umart in store and asked for a refund. Told they had to send it back to manufacturer for assessment and would take up to 3-4 weeks . What assessment exactly I'm not sure? Poor packaging has lead to damage somewhere in transit which is obviously the case seeing how all 3 drives came out of the box damaged. 2-3 weeks after returning I get an email saying it is manufacturer and they are still assessing. What are they assessing exactly? I should not have to accept any sort of damage small or big to a brand new product I paid for. Called Umart after 3 weeks and was told they had no further updates. Requested refund was told we will put it into file...
Called Umart again today. Once again told at manufacturers with no updates. Asked for refund again once again told it would be put into my file. I was willing to wait for a while but now after more than a month since my warranty return I still have no Hdds, no refund, no idea when I might hear back from them. It is not my problem that the Hdds arrived damaged that should be an issue with Umart and delivery company(I'm sure they have insurance) or the manufacturer. I've asked for some sort of response by today which I'm sure won't happen.
Don't buy from this company if you expect any customer service when it comes to warranty related claims. This seems to a constant theme with Umart if you look at the reviews. They even had to put out and official statement on their webpage for clarification of warranty handling because of some bad press.
ACCC complaint to be lodged shortly. Seems like a fairly common thing for Umart just looking through some of the reviews.

Terrible and Unacceptable Customer service and refusal to honour warranty terms. This story was picked up by Hardware Unboxed on YouTube. (https://youtu.be/x0g_YlG_Ul0?si=ug0d-rUw7w3yMEu4) Umart refuses to replace customers RAM after legitimate fault that was not due to the customer and should have been replaced under warranty. down on refusing to replace the RAM and cite some nonsense misinterpretation of ACCC law that they think entitles them to refuse the warranty. They also won't return the RAM to the customer after he refuses their nonsense and requests his RAM returned.
Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable behaviour, UMART should be avoided at all costs unless you want to be screwed over.
Purchased via related company, pcbyte. Item shipped by umart Adelaide. Item is lost in transit and they are failing to communicate on this issue, depsite over 5 seperate logged queries. Avoid at all costs.
Purchased a brand-new PC build from Umart, it arrived with a broken case fan which was non-functional with the wires burnt out and should have been picked up in the quality assurance they do prior to shipment. the issue, I contacted them on the 17th of July and received a response on the 20th July stating the issue was being escalated to their technical team. I didn't hear anything further from Umart so on the 25th July I sent a follow up asking for an update, the support team responded on the 31st July and said they were still waiting on a response from the technical team and will follow up in order to expedite things. This was the last contact I've had from Umart.
It's now been 2 months since I first contacted them and there hasn't been a single step taken on their end to resolve the problem. This makes me very concerned for if I have a more serious warranty issue down the track.
Very disappointing, you expect a lot better when spending close to $4,000 on a new PC.
Bought a SSD from them because no store sells them locally. I paid for express post because I was "hoping" it would be better taken care of & it had to travel from QLD to me on the Vic Border. It arrived via Australia post in 3 days but my problem is the packaging to protect a storage drive is very poor. There is no bubble wrap envelope. Just a… Read more
foam block only protecting one side of the SSD the other side was just covered by a paper thin plastic bag & free to take blows from god knows what while it travelled through Airports and sorting facilities. I have bought from private sellers on Ebay that showed more care with their packaging.
It's been 2 months but the refund still hasn't arrived. I've called and messaged them again and again. Stay away from this terrible store. Show details
My recent warranty experience with Umart was deeply frustrating and highlights significant systemic failures within the company. I purchased a new APC UPS unit that developed a critical fault within 48 hours, complete with alarms and a "Replace Battery" warning icon. I provided undeniable proof: photos of the error on the display, excerpts from… Read more
the manufacturer's manual stating the fault required immediate action to prevent unsafe battery corrosion, and even evidence that the unit's own internal 'EVENT' log had recorded the failure.
Despite this clear evidence, the unit was initially evaluated as having "no issue."
The real failure, however, is Umart's internal communication and support system. Attempting to resolve this was a nightmare. Calling for three consecutive days led to support tickets being created, but they were completely inaccessible in my online account, leaving me in the dark. My detailed email containing all the proof was, for some reason, unable to be forwarded internally to the warranty team. It felt like my evidence and efforts to communicate were disappearing into a black hole.
This isn't an isolated incident; it's part of a frustrating pattern. In the past, I asked them to perform a simple cable swap on a system they had for diagnosis. They proceeded to lose the new cables I provided them, refused to take any responsibility for the error, and left me with no cables for a new system build. Their mistake and lack of accountability forced me to buy an entirely new PSU, as purchasing replacement cables was nearly as expensive. I've also had another expensive system purchased from them fail well before what is considered a reasonable lifespan.
While the warranty staff I eventually spoke to were polite and professional, they are being severely let down by broken processes and a history of unprofessionalism from other staff. The entire experience was so draining that for my latest major system purchase, I deliberately chose a competitor, even though Umart was the cheaper and local option. The potential savings are not worth the guaranteed frustration. I sincerely hope I never have to purchase through them again.

Ive been a loyal umart purchaser for 24 years buying from the original milton store when they first started, and I just had my first warranty and as a result, now wont return. I have bought countless pc's, for both my business, personal, family and… Read more
3 kids, replacing them all every few years, so you can imagine how many pc's that is over that time frame. I also send loads of people to them through my work, we deal with electronics and people all the time ask me where to buy PC's from, so I don't know the number of people ive sent there, but its a lot. You'd think that if they want to keep a customer happy, it would be me. My recent warranty is to do with Memory, I purchased 2 x 16GB DDR5 RGB Memory 2 years ago for $139 as part of a full PC build for one of my kids, and one of the 16GB sticks failed mid 2025. The PC wouldn't turn on and google pointed that it should be either the power supply or the motherboard, so I knew I needed to build another PC very soon so I ordered a new motherboard and power supply to figure out what was faulty, but neither fixed it. I then discovered it to be the Ram, so I purchased Black Friday 2025, 2 full PC's and the parts to make a 3rd PC using the motherbaord and power supply I had recently purchased. In the meantime, there has been the RAM shortage and so now the memory is $7-800 for simular stuff. Warranty team assess my memory and say yes, you have faulty memory, the exact same memory isn't available any longer so all we can do is offer a refund. I say sorry, under consumer law, you can't only offer a refund especially when the parts have gone up by a factor of 7 as ther only option. If the parts werew the same $139, I'd happily take a refund and just purchase different ram and all good. I tell them that exchange can be a simular item to the same spec, but they claim that a refund must be the exact same brand and the exact same model number or they aren't allowed to offer it, therefore a refund is the only option. After back and forth they tell me they are no longer talking to me about it, my case is closed, they wont return my faulty and working modules which the working one still works but then the PC only has 16gb of memory instead of the 32gb I paid for, because they have disposed of it already. They tell me that they are in their rights to dispose of my memory before I agree to a refund, and because they are the ones that disposed of my working memory, that's a me issue not a their issue. Case is currently with consumer affairs.
Follow-up · No alternative offered, they wont even respond to emails, about to take them to court.

card that flickered to black screen intermittently did not constitute a "major fault" and that they therefore did not have to provide a cash refund. This is a clear violation of Australian Consumer Law, which states that consumers are entitled to a refund for faulty items that do not meet acceptable quality standards.
Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, Umart failed to honour their legal obligations. I expected better from a major retailer. If you’re looking for a company that respects your rights as a consumer, I recommend shopping elsewhere.
Follow-up · To follow up on this, they actually got worse. All in all it took over 6 months for them to return a "refurbished" card to me, and they still kicked and screamed the whole way. I call Support and they tell me nothing except someone will get to me in a week with more information (have done this multiple times). The update I got this morning (a week after I contacted them) was to tell me they had no further information!! I am a small business and rely on this computer. Just not acceptable! On a side note, when I took it back to the store, the person behind the counter straight away asked me if it was my son's computer?!! I'm a middle aged woman, so obviously it couldn't be mine (it is)?!! Then when I told him I couldn't boot it up and it gave a particular error message, he asked me if this problem had existed since I first got the computer (2 years earlier)?! Yes I have been sitting with a non working computer for 2 years. I mean what incompetence!!

Absolutely disgraceful customer service – misleading and dishonest I had one of the worst retail experiences I’ve ever dealt with at Umart. not a warranty assessment. Later, Umart claimed it was a warranty submission, which I never agreed to.
I was initially told a refund was approved, then they backtracked, changed their story, restricted my communication, and kept both my money and the router while dragging the process out endlessly. I even offered to exchange for a more expensive router and pay the difference — they refused.
I was eventually forced to buy another router elsewhere just to have internet at home, while Umart continued delaying and deflecting responsibility. Their internal case numbers didn’t even exist when checked.
This entire process has been misleading, stressful, and completely avoidable. I’ve now escalated the matter formally because Umart refused to resolve it reasonably.
Avoid Umart if you value honesty, transparency, or consumer rights.

or so i attempted contact again via a phone number i managed to source. Staff were dissmissive and said the order was being fulfiled via 'bots' therefor no assistance could be provided. I placed a second order and needed to pay additional delivery costs plus the other charges added in the checkout for 'transaction costs' (cash not allowed every same day payment has a surcharge).
I waited for days for the delivery. Generally within 5m of front door. Nothing arrived. Then recieved a message from Australia Post saying delvery attempt failed (that can happen when they dont try). As other deliveries were expected i continued to wait. Other deliveries arrived.
5 days after the order i drove to the nearest post office to pick up the items i had paid to have delivered. Note the Umart website showed them as having already been delivered...Aust post could only locate 1 box which contained part of one of the two orders. I contacted umart and they wanted me to take the issue up with Aust Post re missing items. I requested they look i to the matter. No action appeared to occur.
I tried ringing the Aust Post Lutwyche branch multiple times with no answer. I tried ringing Aust Post general line and their 'robots' said items await collection in the location i had already been to. I tried again. Eventually at after extended issues i got onto a human at Aust Post. They tried to contact the Lutwyche branch. They also had no one answer. So Aust Post logged an enquiry into the items missing at their non responsive branch.
I requested a refund for the missing items given that both delivery service and items were not provided. While this message was read hours ago, Umart did not provide response or refund.Just ghosted by Umart.
Given Umart Milton is aroud 10-15min drive from my home, how many days and how many hours am I expected to spend chasing products ans services I was charged for.. Its already 5 days. Aldready driven to attempt pickup collection once. I just want my money back. This is an insane lack of service and product delivery.
If Umart wont give me my money back for products and services not provided I feel obligated to go to every review site and forewarn others of potential pending disaster if you attempt to deal with them.
Looking like Credit Card fraud claim is my last option with Umart as i didnt recieve they products or services they charged for and they are unresponsive
They allocated parts from my order to someone else and decided to order extra parts in delaying the pickup was initially waiting for only 1 part. Currently on day 3 of their 1-2 day guarantee. If someone orders something, the system should automatically "allocate" the parts to the first order placed.
I submitted 5 requests to talk to someone about a computer system they were selling. No one bothered to get back to me after 2 hours. It makes you think , what if I had a problem with a product from them ? no one is available to help. Years ago at Milton you could go in , choose something and pay for it. I recently purchased a new gaming PC from Umart Online. From day 1 I have had nothing but problems with it. install a hard drive which became a nightmare.
The RAM was not configured. The DDR4 3200mhz RAM was only running at 2100mhz. They couldn't be bothered to go into the bios to configure the RAM which literally takes 10 seconds.
The PC keeps putting my display into standby that it cannot wake up from. This happens when turning the computer on or restarting it requiring multiple restarts just to get a signal. I have tried 3 different displays including 1 that is brand new. Same thing on them all.
The PC constantly crashes when playing games making it not fit for purpose.
Upon investiging things to try and fix it I discovered that the PC is a year old and used. It has over 1100 unused drivers on it spanning a 12 month period. This is likely what is causing the issues.
Umart knowingly sold me a used PC that they did a Windows reinstall on, I have undeniable proof.
Obviously I am very upset and I have contacted them via a support ticket and Umart can't even be bothered to reply and address the problems.
I have lodged a complaint with both the Office Of Fair Trading and the ACCC along with the supporting evidence.
I am on a disabilitly pension and saved for over a year to buy a new PC. It was a big investment for me and something that I had been looking forward to. Instead it's been a nightmare and Umart couldn't care less.

Update: Received a refund promise and is waiting for a refund My experience aligns with the one-star user reviews. If the purchased item has no issues, it’s fine.
