Hi I have Uniden Guardian G2740 CCTV system and am able to view my 4 cameras remotely using Uniden AppCam V2.1.95 from the Google Android store but when I try to view outside my own wifi it won't connect to my cameras even tho it works on the same wifi the security system is directly connected to. My question is - is that how it is supposed to work? I thought if its on the internet then technically I should be able to see it on any wifi??? I have a Uniden Model G2740 security camera. Last night for no reason camera 1 has gone black on the monitor and there is no red light on camera. Have tried rebooting but still does not come back on. Has this camera died and if so can a replacement be bought? Other than that the security is working fine

My monitor just flickers and turns off unable to connect via mobile. Battery appears to have bloated forcing back of monitor back out. Is there anyway to fix this .... connect direct bypass monitor .... use alternative monitor ... or make it work any other way

What is the largest size memory card I can use with my G2740? I am currently using SD32 but find I am having to clear it frequently.
Why don't you use the overwrite function? Once card is full it will start recording over at the beginning.
Hi. For about two months now I have been unable to view remotely. My G2740 wont connect to the internet just shows 'connecting to the internet please wait' anyone have any ideas. Using the Uniden Appcam and it wont connect. Does anyone have any solutions please?
I've tried to use remote monitoring to my phone etc. but can't seem to get it working. I can connect to the internet, but little luck viewing with remote function. I am an advanced PC & network user, I feel sorry for any casual users having a crack!

I have a G2740 and have one camera that won’t pair. Normally they all have both a red and green light indicating but one has no green light and won’t pair. I have reset the monitor, turned the camera off and on and still will not pair. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have owned my Uniden cameras for a couple of years now and was wondering if we could record the security footage onto an external harddrive instead of the sd card as everyday I am getting the record file error on my monitor? It is driving me nuts, I am using a 32GB SD card and I still get the error daily.

I'm sorry to say but the uniden system doesn't allow you to use external hard drives it only records onto so card.

Thanks, looks like I will be buying a new security system then as this one is hopeless.
I am getting frequent record file errors as well. Pretty disappointing for Uniden, you expect to not have these bugs.
Just remove the card and reinsert will reset and be ok that's all I do to fix it every few days or when the error occurs. Or turn off and on again.
unit stopped recording on motion detection,also wont record manualy. turned off hoping to reboot unit.now wont turn back on.only had it just over 1year.had noting but trouble with it including faulty camera. any help appreciated.
Hi sprigger have you tried resetting the screen? on the side of the unit where the dc port is there is a small pin hole, it has reset written on the side of the hole try that first maybe? my camera system has given me a lot of trouble too.

I have an issue with the monitor that it not powering up ! I have gone over everything including the power source and it wont power up at all, no charge light etc, any thoughts ? I did go through customer (frustration) service to no avail (overseas call centre)

Hi, did you try using one of the camera plug packs. They are 5VDC 1AMP instead of the 5DVC 1.5AMP one used for the monitors. How old is the monitor as the internal battery can have issues after a period of time & won't except a charge from the plug pack. The on/off button at the top might also be faulty - I've installed many of these systems & these are the things I would be checking.
Hi Rod and thank you for your response ! appreciate it, the unit is just over 15 months old. funnily enough i decided after trying to contact a number of business in Adelaide for possible tech repair (again no luck) to try the power packs and it immediately worked again ! it had been on the same power pack since i installed it, in your response you mentioned the batteries in the monitor, are you aware of any persons (business) in South Australia ? as said i made an attempt to go through Uniden and that was a waste of time.
