First Home Build. On Time – Great experience being first home builders. We did our research and the inclusions and offers just kept on coming which was great. Floor plan was completely customisable at no cost which was our main reason we went with them. Build was on time. There were only a few finishes that were not up to scratch, which were rectified. Nearly 1 year on and no issues at all. I would recommend. Show details
Sales consultant is amazing , Megan _ I have ever seen like her. Very helpful – My husband and myself have been to lots builder but we choose Valeco. We are very thankful to sales consultant Megan especially she guides us very well. We never built house ever. Valeco helps us to built our dream home. Love it. Later at end we have different supervisor his name also was John, he is very supportive. Wish we could get him earlier as we starting build our home. Show details
Valeco don't Follow up – Sales process and drafting at sales time was good, but everything after that was about 2/5. To try to keep it short and punchy I have done it in dot points below; > 3 different Supervisors during build (2nd was one of the Valeco owners who made a few mistakes; like pouring the house slab too low). 1st & 2nd Supervisor avoided any direct contact,… Read more
only contcact was via my Valeco Admin contact. > Was nearly 3mths late for handover at end of November 2018. But then the day before that handover date Valeco came clean with me that the house slab was poured too low and the certifier would not sign off the house (house not deemed habitable). Because we could not move in the new house at that time, I had to move our whole house of contents into storage and move my family of 5 into temporary accommodation (horrible and costly time for our whole family). To date Valeco have not provided any compensation for their building mistake and were un-helpful in the whole painful experienced caused by their mistake. One of the Owners has spent that last 5mths pretending he will get back to me. The old Avoid, Avoid and Avoid technique. I will eventually get it sorted through QBCC/QCAT because it was a very clear breach of contract, but QBCC/QCAT process is slow. House was nearly 4mths late at the final/final handover on 21st Dec 2018. > Defects list was ignored for 5mths after handover, until I registered the defects/complaints list with the QBCC, Valeco have recently fixed some of the defects/complaint list, but only after they were contacted by the QBCC.

Our first family home – Our experience with Valeco was very good from start to finish. Our journey started with Dean from the sales office in Springfield Lakes, he was extremely helpful and patient with us, as this was our first time building in Australia. of our questions.
The colour selection process was really smooth and we were guided through all our ideas with professional interior and exterior design ideas. We added on a few luxury extras but this was not pushed upon us.
Our build went extremely well. It was completed in the estimated time frame. We didnt come across any issues or problems. The only negative part of the build was communication from the site supervisor which was limited and no updates were given. This was resolved through contact with a manager. The build quality and workmanship was really good and we are really pleased with the outcome. We have lived here for 6 months now and we only had 2 minor problems with plumbing and both were dealt with promptly.
Overall we are very happy with our house and pool. We would build again with Valeco and would recommend them to anybody looking for a smooth build with a professional team
Thank you Valeco Team.

First Home With ValEco Homes – Our experience with ValEco Homes : Our first encounter with ValEco homes was pleasant and ultimately what drew us to them as a company to build our first home. As with all sales consultants, their job is to sell you their homes/builder. Dean on the other hand was more interested in us and our block and whatever else that came along with it. We… Read more
felt he genuinely wanted to help, he asked for our lot disclosure plan so he could identify any problems or things that would concern him as if it was his own block. We found this extremely helpful, and we really appreciated that Dean didn’t try and push ValEco Homes on us, like all other sales consultants (which is very off putting).
After a few emails back and forth, we decided this is who we wanted to build our home. ValEco allowed us to customize plans to suit our needs, and allowed many, many changes during the drawing/planning process. They also had a fair amount of standard inclusions, that other companies didn’t offer as standard. There was also a promotion on at the time, which we also felt was of great value (lots of family and friends were surprised what the promotion included for a small price tag).
Dean was extremely helpful, always happy to answer any questions we had and put any worries at ease. He was extremely patient with our plan/design changes, and was more than happy to plan/build a house that met our requirements. Anything throughout the process that Dean felt wasn’t necessary, he was honest and told us upfront (he wasn’t pushy).
Our colour selection process was nice and easy. Katherine was lovely to work with and was able to guide us with our colours to get the look we were aiming for.
The build was relatively smooth. They were on site rather quickly once all the paperwork was approved and processed...and then the rains came. There was a delay due to the wet weather (which was to be expected). Once they got back on site to start building, it all happened very quickly. (Living close, we drove past quite often). Our site supervisor had said that he hoped to get the house to lockup stage by Christmas. (We were blown away by how fast the house went up, as they were at fixing stage before Christmas!!). Everything seemed to be delivered on time/well before needed, making the first stages go seamlessly and without any delays or hiccups. Our site supervisor was very flexible with items/jobs we wanted to do ourselves, ie retaining wall, insulation.. Any questions and issues throughout the build were answered and resolved promptly and to a standard we were happy with.
Our only negatives would be that we wished our supervisor communicated with us more, as we felt we had to do a bit of chasing up or asking what’s happening. The last month of the build was the most frustrating, as there were weeks where no progress was made. We sent an email to the office to find out what was happening, as we weren’t getting much from our supervisor. Moments later we had been booked in for a PCI (even though no progress had been made during the weeks prior) ?? . We felt this was quite rushed. We had our PCI with our supervisor which was quite underwhelming. We were excited for the PCI process, expecting to go in, check it all out and put tape wherever there was defects, etc.. We rocked up and were out within twenty mins-half hour. We had booked in a private inspector, who after his finding, agreed the house wasn’t up to PCI standard (the bathtub was just resting in the cavity, the bathroom mirror wasn’t in, tiles were being ripped up in the en-suite). Aside from those major issues, there was pretty much only paint defects and a couple other little things that needed to be fixed. Two and a half weeks later we received our keys! A couple defects needed to be fixed after we moved in, this was organized rather quickly.
We have been in our home for just under 2 months, and we are happy with the quality and finishes of the ValEco inclusions and tradies. We have talked positively of our experiences building with ValEco and have recommended them to family and friends.
Great experience building our home with Valeco – We definitely made a great choice by selecting Valeco to build our dream home. The building process has been a great experience from the beginning and we are extremely happy with the final build quality. picked to suit our needs and preferences while keeping the cost within the budgetary constraints. His knowledge and professionalism helped us to make correct design choices and most of all, guided us in making the hard compromises when required. The approval process was a breeze and Valeco handled everything well on our behalf.
Had a great experience in the colour selection as well. Katherine Mousavi guided us through the process extremely well. She was very patient and gave us the right tips to pick the best choices and combinations.
If building a house is stressful, doing that while living in another state, as in our case, can be really hectic. This is where Peter Titov did an amazing job so that we never had to worry about the progress of work or any other issues. Understanding that we cannot visit often, Peter sent us regular updates through videos and photos, which really kept us excited. He also managed the whole building process extremely well, resulting the house being completed way ahead of schedule and us moving in early. The overall build quality is excellent and Peter organized people to come in and fix couple of minor defects we pointed out.
The ultimate proof of customer satisfaction is repeat sales and after witnessing our great experience, my wife’s brother is also building with Valeco at the moment. We will also not think twice in selecting Valeco if we decide to build a house again.
All settled in to our new Valeco home! – We would like to express our thanks to the awesome team at Valeco Homes. As first-time home builders, we had little idea of what was involved in the building process. With the help and guidance of the Valeco team, we completed our build with a minimum of stress. brilliant inclusions, all within our budget. Dean's enthusiasm for the building process is infectious!
The admin staff at Valeco were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, and every time we needed information from them, they would have a response for us the same day. Building a new home could potentially be very stressful , and it gave us peace of mind knowing that we would have a professional response to any queries straight away.
The building stage was completed without any major hitches. It was a deeply satisfying feeling to drive past our lot every weekend and see our new home taking shape.
We have now been living in our new home for several months, and if we ever decide to build again, Valeco will be our first port of call. I would have no hesitation in recommending Valeco as a home builder.

Valeco.
Colour Selection: (5 Star) We have built a new house with another builder and having a reasonable idea of what we wanted certainly made this process a whole lot easier. Our colour consultant was happy to help us out and make sure that everything flowed nicely.
Build process: (4 Star) Overall experience is good except the followings: Plumbers should have checked the invert level of the sewer connection point before they commenced their under-slab pipe works. As a result of deep plumbing works, the existing sewer property connection had to be dropped with an extra 4k payment to the authorities. The quality of the bathroom tiling is not acceptable, there are no matching lines and there are bad edges. Unfortunately, the supervisor could not do anything about it even if we pointed out these problems during the construction. Apart from the above, we are happy with the quality of the build.
Commissioning: (5 star) We had very good communication with the site supervisor and the handing over process was very smooth. However, It is personally recommended that Valeco should provide a detailed demonstration for the homeowners at the handover on the use of electronic equipment such as the alarm system, My Lights and My Air operations etc.
The whole process from start to finish was great. We would recommend Valeco Homes to anyone considering building a new home
First Home Owners with Satisfaction – At the start, my wife and I were little nervous in trying to choose the right design for our first home to suit our little family. sit down with Dean Allison at Springfields and he was most helpful in explaining and guiding us with the floor plans and has been much helpful even during the building stages. The construction at start seem to be going smoothly with our site supervisor Darrin Wilson, who has been great at most time with communicating with us during the whole building experience. The building time took a little longer then we expected, but in the end we are happy with the outcome when came to handover. After moving in we did eventually notice a few faults where we didn't pick it up during pre inspection, ie. nails that stick up all along the edges of the walls where carpets are laid have not been secured down and is easily be stepped on as my wife had experienced, door stopper not well planned cause it's too short and that door knob hits the wall when opening and put in a dent. Overall we as a small family in our first home are satisfy and are thankful to Valeco Homes for the experience with whole process from start to finish.
Another Great Build by ValEco Homes – ValEco Homes recently finished ( build No.365) our 3rd build ( investment home ) with them in 4 years and we could not be happier. size, 3rd- quality of finish. After getting base prices back for similar size houses with their inclusions there was only 1 that came back with a true turn key home that had the best inclusions in the base price ( other companies had to have top upgrades and still didn't include what ValEco Home had in base price). The experience started with Dean Allison at Springfield, and you couldn't ask for a better, knowledgeable sales person. He was able to work with me on a design that would work with my small inner city lot on each of the 3 builds. His communication was awesome in this process and continued to contact me during and after each build to see how things were going and or how things went. Our site supervisor for the recently completed build was Peter Titov, i would have to say he is by far the best site supervisor we have had in the 3 builds and ValEco Homes should be grateful they have him as an employee. If we end up building again i will asking for Peter to be our site supervisor again. Each of the houses where finished in a good time frame and to a quality that was expected. I cant recommend ValEco Homes enough and have already to many friends thinking of building. If we end up doing another knock down rebuild there is only 1 company i will use and that is ValEco Homes and Dean will be the Sales person that i will be visiting.

supervisor Simon Taylor is very good at his work. He know his work very well, and was always informative. - A part from above, as the work is done by humans, i understand there will be human errors which even i did have. There are few issues with which we can live with and maintenance period with us i know they would be addressed. - Last but not least the negatives i had with construction were, the landscaping, the contractors with whom valeco had laid my landscape with are not impressive. I had a bad experience. I wish this was addressed well and i would have had a great experience overall.
Happy first home owners – While our build was not without its hiccups, as all builds are, we had a good experience with Valeco. with Valeco - most changes to the plan are free of charge) and helped us through the contract process. Colour selection was made easier with lots of samples available in the showroom and upgrades and changes were managed with simply spelled out variation documents. Our site supervisor Peter was lovely and accommodated all of our site inspection requests. There were a few things that didn't go according to plan during the build, but all were resolved satisfactorily i.e. a wooden retaining wall was built instead of the concrete one we had paid for so the difference was refunded to us, a powerpoint was placed in the wrong location in the kitchen so the panel was replaced and the powerpoint relocated. The tiler even requested we visit to confirm selection and location of feature tiles and grout colours before he began to ensure he carried out the works correctly. As with all new builds there were some issues after we moved in e.g. some heavy rain on a Saturday afternoon helped identify that some flashing on a roof vent hadn't been installed, and it was disappointing to learn that there was no one who could help us until business hours Monday. That being said, they did send a lovely maintenance guy out to inspect on Monday. The same lovely maintenance guy came out later to do the standard maintenance check and was very thorough. Overall a good experience.

what our requirements were, how much we were prepared to spend etc. After selecting a design from there catalogue and bearing in mind to the size of a block we had opted for and as our land wasn't being registered until end of May/early June 18 gave us ample time to have all the pre construction work completed. During the design stage nothing to consultant Dean was of any trouble to him and we made quite a few changes along way until we finally signed our contract, we take our hat of to him for all his effort that he had put in which has given us this lovely home. During that stage we did have a few hiccups along the way in the admin side off the company but these were attended to in a reasonable time frame. During the construction stage our supervisor Simon Taylor meet with us on site were I explained to him that prior to retirement I had work in nearly every phase of the building industry and what we required come constructions end.Simon communications with us early was great but slipped off a for a month or so, so It was me ringing him, this picked up again and from that time on to the completion he was great. There was one problem we encounter during the early construction phase and we had trouble having that problem rectified through no fault of Simon eventually it was resolved to our satisfaction. At handover there were only a few things needed to be rectified which were carried out prior to us moving in. Since moving we find our home is very liveable and we love it. We would give the company a score of 8.5/10 and we would have no hesitation in recommending Valeco Homes to any one in the future

the get go. Very happy with the standard inclusions and the price of the upgrades we selected. Our build supervisor Pete was amazing. As we were living interstate during the build it was wonderful to have someone who was happy to chat on the phone and send through photos whenever we needed. Pete has such an eye for detail and looks after each build like it is his own home. We quickly understood that we were in very capable hands. The quality of workmanship is excellent. During the build we noticed a few bits that needed fixing up and when we raised this with Pete, he had already noticed and it was already booked in to be rectified. Our build was finished well before the contract due date, right on time for when we need it. We would happily recommend and build with Valeco again.

Our site supervisor Pete was an absolute legend and worked his backside off to make sure we were in our home as quick as we could – and never once did that come at the compromise of quality! He was flexible, attentive and very thorough in his communication with us as the customer.
Just call Megan now if you are thinking about building a home and forget wasting your time with other builders and their reps (we spent plenty of wasted time on that) We wouldn’t even bother discussing a build with someone else in the future – if we do this again, we will use Valeco and insist on working with Megan and Pete!
So now you have the summary, for those of you particularly interested in the detail and our Journey…. Read on!
After securing a block of land off the plan in Newport QLD, we started to research builders online and poured over hundreds of floor plans. As a large family (Mum, Dad, & kids 20,18,13,12), we had very specific requirements that we wanted to achieve so the house functioned effectively for us all. We found the Mandalay floor plan was close to what we wanted, and we met Megan at their original display home for this build in Burpengary East. Here’s what we loved about the process:
FLEXIBILITY AND CUSTOMISATION. No floor plan was exactly what we wanted. My job requires me to be involved in floor plan designs for retail space, so i knew I wanted to customise our space. Megan worked closely with us to achieve that – and better still any changes we made, Valeco accommodated by simply recalculating the floor space and applying the rate per square meter of that particular build to the changed floor plan. Find another builder that will do that! We ended up with an additional bedroom and ensuite, relocated the laundry and reconfigured a few of the rooms to be bigger.
GENUINE UNDERSTANDING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WITHOUT THE SALES PUSH. Never once did we feel pushed into signing a contract or making a commitment during the design process. We were able to build a floor plan and even make a revision or two without even leaving a deposit! Megan was genuinely interested and offered her expertise on things she thought we would want after taking the time to build relationship with us to understand who we were as a family, and what we wanted to achieve. We were never upsold on rubbish we did'nt want! We genuinely fell in love with Megan and her brilliant service.
Once we reached a final floor plan we proceeded to a detailed quote and finalized what we wanted to build for our budget. At this point, the process had been so seamless and enjoyable it was tempting just to sign up and move ahead - but being frugal and always researching other options, I moved to try and achieve the same level of detail and get quotes from two other builders.
I could write paragraphs about how average our experiences were with the other quotes and builders reps. The entire industry is so full of cowboys! We even got to the point of leaving a desposit with a large premium builder after being convineced they were affordable on a hard sell tactic. After proceeding to colours selection our quote increased from the base build by over $140,000 to include everything we wanted - which was out of our price range. We walked away very dissapointed and completely disalusioned.
BACK TO VALECO! After our previously bad experiences, we returned to Valeco to meet with Megan - the only rep i actually tursted at this point - and I can honestly say there was a tear or two shed. It all seemed too hard and I was very intimidated because I now believed every builder was out to sign you up and then blow your budget at the colour selection process. Megan assured us their base spec was so much better than the competitor we had walked away from, so eventually we finalized another quote taking advantage of an excellent promotion (Ducted Air Con, Solar and 600x600 rectified floor tiles for a very small upgrade fee) and began to move forward. Our final price ended up a whopping $85,000 less than the premium large builder we had left our deposit with and i can genuinely say, the spec was almost identical! If i had one word of adivce in buiulding a home, do not waste your time comparing base build prices. Spec the home how you want it with the finishes you expect and then compare - you will be ASTOUNDED at the differences!
From here on everything was smooth sailing. The colour selection process was very pleasant and surprising – in fact we even used tiles from their STANDARD range which were great and so much better than the utter crap offered by the competitor we had previously signed with. After picking all of our details out we ended up with only a very small variation (less than $1k) to secure a few ‘nice to haves’.
The designer who met with us was friendly, professional and very through. Our final contract came through with soil tests done (note, we were only charged an additioanl $5k for H2 classification soil and piering for our pool! - we had quotes for 5 times that from others!) Everything was finalized and from here it was time to move forward and start the build! How exciting – (but daunting – we had heard so many horror stories from other people who built a house!)
Enter the legend, our site supervisor…. PETE!
SITE SUPERVISORS MATTER THE MOST: when I started this process, someone told me the only two people that matter in building a house is the customer service rep you sign with, and the site supervisor that builds your house. This is so true as i speak from expeirence … lucky Pete was a complete Legend. Why?
1) Open communication at all times. Pete would call at least twice a week with an update on progress. Despite the fact we visited nearly every weekend, he still continued to keep us abreast of the build at all times. Early in the process he outlined his expected timelines and whilst he was very clear there were no guarantees, he was aiming to get us in for Christmas. (and he delivered!)
2) Attention to detail was great. As I sit here now we still don’t have a single major issue in this house and the finishes are excellent. If he noticed something that was not up to scratch, he would let us know and have it rectified long before we even got a chance to point it out!
3) Flexibility is important, and Pete accommodated any little minor changes he could without any drama and avoiding unecessary variations. He was far more interested in making sure as clients we were happy and if something was a very minor change with no inconvenience or cost, he just accommodated it with a smile!
THEY EVEN ACCOMDOATED OUR POOL CONTRACTOR: We have a very specific and complicated requirement for our pool backing onto our alfresco area. On top of that, our valuation included the pool that had to be completed to release the final payment for the build. To ensure we could do that, Pete arranged to have our pool contractor on site as soon as the lock up stage was complete – which saved us time, money and made sure we were in our home for Christmas! (and in the pool! Thanks Crown pools)
THE END PRODUCT: We are genuinely wrapped with our new home after living in it for about 10 weeks now. The after sales service has been great – Pete has been in touch to ask what needs to be done and has not waited for our defect list. To be honest, there are only three very minor issues to resolve that are so small, its barely worth the bother!!!! The house is our dream home and considering we achieved the right house for more than $80,000 less than the competitor we signed with originally, we are so thankful we built with Valeco!
WERE THERE ANY NEGATIVES? Well, if you believe any build is seamless without one issue or problem you are living in a dream land. Of course, there were a few minor issues, but they only involved the administration team on variations and early details in the build. On the only occasion I got frustrated, I had a personal call from Managing Director to resolve the issue and I was very happy with the outcome. So we now live in an amazing community in Newport QLD, in an truly amazing house (5 beds, 3.5 bathrooms and 3 living areas) and just could not be happier with the outcome.
A HUGE THANKYOU TO MEGAN, PETE AND VALECO HOMES!!!!!!!
Don't do it – We built on the south side and it was a very poorly managed build. The worst communication and still waiting on defects to be fixed over 12 months later. Workmanship poor as all outsourced to terrible tradies who didn't show up, painted the carpet, missed painting behind doors, dripped paint all inside kitchen cabinets .. just pure laziness.… Read more
Husband was onsite more than the site manager which was lucky as otherwise windows would've been in the wrong place among other things. Do not buy a Hume front door as they are so poorly finished it's an embarrassment. If you run the ducted air con under 24 degrees it will leak and cause water stains on the ceiling. Found that out the hard way. Electrical shorted twice due to loose wiring. The company has such high staff turnover that no-one seems to know what is going on. Have clearly grown too big too quickly and can't handle the workload.
3 builds with Valeco - each great homes – Before deciding on a builder, we went through all the different company display homes and their inclusions and pricing - found a really helpful salesman Greg at North Lakes display home and then again at Newport with Valeco Homes. Very professional and explained different options, always helpful. Also found that Valeco had the best inclusions, so… Read more
many other builders had optional extras that were included in the basic plans with Valeco. First two homes had the same site supervisor, different one on the 3rd home, Peter always happy to supply answers to our many questions through the build processes. Some small issues along the way in each build but staff always listened and actioned the problems promptly. We wouldn't have built 3 times with Valeco if we weren't happy with the homes. Pricing right on track with each home too, no nasty surprises there. We are now staying put, but have been happy to send our son and his wife to Valeco and Greg to design their next home.
Happy Home owners! – For those of you obviously on product review researching builders, here is an honest opinion from 2 fussy and particular home owners. very patient and helpful with our custom build and is truly an asset for the company with his energetic attitude and thorough understanding of the whole building process.
Tammy is especially helpful when it comes to requirements regulations and specifics which took a lot of stress off our shoulders.
The build was well managed finished within the timeframe, we were in constant contact with our supervisor, the build quality and finishes was excellent even impressing a family member in the building industry for over 30 years.
Minor issues were rectified including 2 sliding doors jamming and our independent building assessor (which we had out at framing and completion), only noticed missing insulation which was promptly installed.
Cost wise very competitive compared to other builders and overall we were very happy with our finished product and quality.
Now we are building our second home with Valeco, closer to the city, a knockdown rebuild, a lot more complex than our build at Springfield however the staff at Valeco are of great support and help.
We highly recommend building with Valeco homes.
Couldn't be happier! – In April 2018, my mortgage broker recommended Valeco Homes to me after I mentioned I felt kind of indifferent about another builder I was considering at the time. My colour consultant, Katherine, was brilliant. She is very good at what she does and helped me make the idea of what I wanted in my head come to fruition. The finished product looks absolutely stunning, Katherine, thanks so much.
I think I found the actual building process the most daunting, being my first home and not knowing what to expect. Building supervisor Simon was great though, very approachable, always available to answer questions and kept me informed for the duration of the build. I also found Simon to be very honest and willing to take the time to make sure you’re looked after properly even after completion. During my practical completion inspection, Simon actually pointed out a couple of very minor errors that there was no way I would have noticed on my own and organized with me for Valeco to come back and fix them at a later date (build quality was good, these were just small cosmetic issues). I think this kind of integrity is rare nowadays and very much an asset to Valeco Homes.
In the end, I moved into my amazing new home in Spring Mountain four days before Christmas, two months earlier than expected and I’ve never had a nicer Christmas surprise. I’m glad Valeco Homes gave me the opportunity early on to tweak designs etc to exactly what I wanted, the end result is a beautiful and unique home (within budget mind you) that I adore and am so proud of in a street full of boring brick boxes.
Thank you very much guys, I couldn’t be happier.
A great help – In nearby suburbs along Rode Rd, we've seen some construction sites by Valeco homes. We rang Dean and had initial meet up. We were impressed by his honesty in initial costings and helped us put up a realistic budget. With our limited monies and land constraint (narrow lot), he patiently entertained and answered our questions and queries,… Read more
clarified our doubts and he made sure we understood everything. Along the way we made changes and asked him to add and remove stuff. He is happy and very accommodating.
Our build supervisor gave construction updates in a timely manner and discussed what needs to be done in the next few weeks/months. This helped us manage our lease arrangements. He provided a swift turn around to issues we flagged (brick works, external paints, fence etc). Our concerns sent through text messaging, emails or voicemails, were answered promptly and this made our lives easier. Special thanks to Justin and Kim. Post hand over defects were handled and taken cared of wonderfully.
It is almost a week now after we moved in and we really love the house! Everyday we enjoy the design, on daytime the natural light coming in and out, at night we like the daylight LEDs you installed, the paint, the taps, the door handles and other fixtures. All awesome and great! Likewise, final and estimate costs are close. In everything, thank you!

Valeco Sale & Build Project Management – We were able to move into our new Valeco Home more than a month before the anticipated completion date, supported in a very professional and friendly manner all the way through the process by Megan from the Valeco Sales team, and Peter our very efficient Build Project Manager. Both of them are very knowledgeable in their respective fields and… Read more
guided us and the build smoothly during what would normally have been a very stressful period. Thanks Valeco, you have the right people in place to deliver your product very well, and thanks also for the personal touch Peter and Megan.
Loving My New Home – After months of looking at pre-loved homes, without any luck, and wondering if I’d be better to build or buy, on a whim we popped into the display village in Springfield Lakes to check out the display homes there. The overwhelming feeling I’d had until now was starting to turn into excitement as we looked at new homes. However, some of the… Read more
salespeople were….. well……. Salespeople!
When we walked into Valeco and met Dean Allison, his enthusiasm and interest were genuine and contagious! Explaining to him my budget constraints and need for a small (downsizing) home, he sat with us and showed us how it was possible. He also explained that with Valeco, we didn’t have to have a preset plan, but could modify one, or even design our own, at no extra cost.
Dean then spent many hours with us over time to get our own design just right. He had a clear idea of what we were wanting, and added some great ideas, including my amazing glass sliding doors, the full width of the open plan living area. These open to the back alfresco area, also the complete width of the house. I am so appreciative of his input, support, ideas, and patience with me as we worked to get things right. He was in contact with us through the entire planning and building process and beyond.
Once building started, Ben (site supervisor), was also very helpful and obliging. The staff at Valeco have been supportive throughout this build.
Overall, the workmanship from tradesmen has been great. After we had been in the house for a while we picked up some minor issues that hadn’t been identified at handover. Again, Dean was helpful in putting me in contact with the maintenance people to have these rectified. This was no problem, all part of the Valeco service.
I perhaps could have built a home that was cheaper, but the old adage stands true, you get what you pay for. I have a home that is designed to suit me, with no worries about changes in the initial design stage. I have a home with quality fittings and workmanship.
Great value for our new family home – We just moved in and have really enjoyed the experience of building our first house with Valeco. They made the process very easy with enough flexibility to add our personal touch and certainly didn’t sting us with excessive upgrade costs I.e. every item seemed fair and reasonable for a quality finished product. Special mention for our sales… Read more
guy Greg, who we met a while ago at a Northlakes display home, he made a great first impression that made us return and was very patient with through our decision making process e.g. he ended up moving to Newport (display) before we did.
A few minor hiccups along the way, that probably would have got addressed before handover, but we followed up to avoid delays, with the end of our lease approaching. Our site supervisor Justin ensured we were ready to move in with 2 days to spare in the end.
We got great value for our new family home that we love.
Valeco Build- Spring Mountain – We purchased a house and land package in Springfield Rise last year. Dean was our sales person, he was great from the moment we met him and a real asset to Valeco. He is knowledgeable, approachable, easy to talk with and great at communicating (always quick to email or call back). Our colour consultant, Katherine was also great. She made the… Read more
appointment enjoyable and stress free. She was also very knowledgeable.
Like all builds there were small issues however these were fixed in a prompt manner.
We enjoyed receiving photos of our build at the end of each stage and I believe this is a step in the right direction for better communication during the construction of the build.
If you do build with Valeco do not expect a 4 month build. At times they are very slow, our house sat for several weeks with no trade action.
This was very frustrating and our build took longer then 6 months to finish.
The end product is a great quality house for a fair price. We are now enjoying life in our new home.
The Unsung Hero's of house building!! – My partner and I did our research to death to find a builder for our first new home. We had a family member build with Valeco and he spoke very highly of them and their service. Choosing to ignore the family member saw us literally visiting every builder in the North Harbor display village until we came to the same conclusion. Valeco beat all… Read more
the others for price and inclusions overall, other builders appeared cheaper on paper but when you go about adding the “inclusions” that were actually necessities the price creep got real! Valeco offers promotional packages throughout the year that also helped make the decision a no brainer.
A mention needs to be made to a particular individual who really sealed the deal for our decision to go with Valeco. Megan McColl is like no other person in the industry! We spoke to so many people about building a home and were constantly met with the same glazed over preprogrammed responses. Its wasn't until we sat down with Megan we realised something was different… a good different! She actively listened, offered constructive feedback, amazed us with her technical knowledge of buildings whilst remaining completely genuine and fun. Megan treats you as an individual, not just another number. She has been constantly approachable throughout the entire build from start to finish, weekends, days off and public holidays were no obstacle for even the most meaningless of questions. If we were to attempt to sum up the experience we have had with Megan, it would be like building your home as if one of your friends was organising it for you! Megan we LOVE you!
Having said this, it wasn't all Megan that made our dream a reality. Justin Carius was our site supervisor for the build and he was the complete professional the entire time. He was knowledgeable about every aspect of the build from slab to paints, he was very approachable and answered our questions swiftly. What we enjoyed most about Justin was the fact when it came to practical completion, he was pointing out fix-ups with the build that my partner and I didn't even notice and took it to heart to get them fixed! After having the house now for a few weeks there are still a few minor fixes that need to be addressed and Justin is still on the job!!
The respect he showed to us and our build was evident throughout, the really little things like removing his shoes before entering our completed home really resonated with us. His easy going nature and ability to pander to our every whim, makes him in our eyes, the perfect man for the job he’s in!
Now having the finished product in our hands, I would have no hesitations with recommending Valeco’s services to anyone who wanted a new home. The entire experience has been one that I can not wait to do again!
Wished we shopped around – To sum up our experience with Valeco - poor communication all the way up to the GM, poor workmanship, uncaring and full of excuses. They take no responsibility for the poor work and attitude of the tradesman they contract. We have spent the past year constantly following up Valeco to get things done. It has been an extremely stressful, disappointing and exhausting process. Show details
House not complete after 18 months from handover – I built with Valeco and had several problems during the construction period. There were items not completed and/or defects noted at time of handover. There have been many staff changes within Valeco over this period and no one appears to have authority to get things sorted. After the twelve months warranty period and after numerous requests to get these items rectified I have now given up on them. Show details
Fair product for fair price – We engaged Valeco to design and build a bespoke off the ground modern design 2 level home as our land is situated near the BNE river with a slight slope. Options for us were to engage a project builder or custom builder. The price difference was substantial enough to use a project builder even though we have two builders in the family. The… Read more
planning process with Valeco is good for the money you are paying (minimal) - if you want a bespoke home designed by an architect - pay $40- $50k and then shop the plans around.
We used Dean Allison from their Springfield office. Dean is a friendly, engaging passionate person willing to work with you to achieve your best outcomes. If you design your home expect to end up with a minimum of 10 variations - we got to at least 15 over a 18 month period - don't rush this process or you will regret it.
The construction phase was typical of building a home - 80% good - 10% ok - 5% annoying - 5% poor
Re the tradies - the team that constructed the frame were very good - concreters - poor everyone else "ok"
Supervisor Randall did a reasonable job and did his best to work with us - communicated effectively - could it have been better - sure - but a good guy doing his best managing a heap of homes. Valeco prefer all communication through the office staff - the message gets lost in translation - far better off with direct calls to supervisor - minium once per week for an update
Finished product is where they let themselves down a touch with a few things not finished to specification and we ended up agreeing to take them on ourselves rather than prolong the finish date, which ended up being apprx 10 weeks after the contract date. This was their biggest downfall.
If you are looking for a turnkey new home which is an off the shelf design - defintely consider Valeco.
If you are looking for your own bespoke home - designed and built by a project home company - expect to have to compromise, expect the build time to run over time - don't sweat the small stuff and keep some money up your sleeve for unexpected costs.
In life - you pay for what you get - Valeco offer a reasonable product at reasonable cost
Valeco means Value for your money! – After terrible initial experiences with two big names in Building industry (Metricon & Coral), a colleague recommended Valeco as he was having his 2nd house built with them. From the start, it felt like a different experience. After putting deposit on the plan, the experience remained at the same high quality level & customer service was always… Read more
good, as compared to Coral homes who only cared till the deposit wasn't paid for.
Valeco inclusions were good value for money as compared to other cheaper builders who were giving bare bone houses. Sales process was simply excellent, Greg who is now at Newport managed us really well & helped make changes over & over again without any issues. Build process was very good too till the supervisor had to go on leave & another supervisor had to take over; some things were left missing in transition however no major issues. New Supervisor was helpful & got us through.
Had issues with driveway during build due to having a big tree at front, council had issues with design but Valeco Staff managed it well in the end. Final cost was higher as expected as we made a lot of changes, Valeco actually only added a little to site cost which was still cheaper than what other builders were asking for. One big difference was that most Valeco staff were open & honest about things, they cared about your home building experience without adding on any extra costs.
Overall build quality & finish is nice, appliances are decent quality as well. One of my friends is already building with them on my recommendation. I suggest you give them a try for sure, one big plus is that they are open to you making changes & don't slug you with ridiculous fees.
Great experience but could be exceptional !! – As a first home owner I must say our build experience with Valeco was terrific from the day we entered Valeco's Springfield Lakes display home. Dean was very accommodating from day 1, even at the very initial enquiry stage we were given full attention which was uncommon with other builders. Later the ability to customise floor plans, competitive… Read more
price and quality inclusions made us put the deposit with Valeco after shopping around with at least 7 other builders. Val Eco are not the cheapest in the market but that's anyways not the correct way to shortlist a builder.
The admin processes, drawings, building approvals, colour consultations etc are just flawless. They have individuals assigned for each stages who are spot on and very prompt in communicating with the customer.
Now comes the building process. Our site-supervisor (SS) Peter.T was very friendly, patient and easy to talk to. He was always available to come on site take us around as and when required and was also able to answer most of the questions.
By the looks of it his team of trades were pretty efficient and knew their stuff. We were always called for a quick chat upon each critical stage ( electrical/ flooring , plumbing ) to get things right with the trades which was the right thing to do.
Till the 'fixing' stage the progress was really fast and quick as any other build would go, but things just got a little bit erratic and unreasonably slow as the build progressed towards practical completion /handover. This is where they can improve so delays can be avoided in rectifying those little but key finishing issues .
Overall the build quality and finishing looks very nice. The same was commented from guests and other home owners who saw the house.
Further, let me stress on the fact that team Valeco could have easily pulled a 5 + stars from me had they communicated and addressed the PC/ Handover repairs quickly and effectively without me chasing them constantly which eventually got completed after few weeks. Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but we expect everything to be immaculate in a new home.
Also their cleaner who does the handover clean need to raise their standards. They did a poor job inside the house and almost ruined my brand new deck. This was also a let down for us.
Lastly, in absence of the supervisor their back office struggles to give the right information from site. When trying to contact the construction managers or any other members from management they refuse to communicate unless forced upon which is very disappointing from a customer point of view. I would expect there should always be someone taking the responsibility.
But to be honest, I guess it was my personal situation, timing and nature of the construction industry which made things slightly patchy towards the end. Nevertheless , the build was satisfactorily completed just on time.
Yes, I would consider building with Val Eco homes again but I will still shop around and research before committing again.
Thanks Val Eco!!!
Exceptional Experience – This is the third time I have built Right from the start when I met my sales consultant (Kate), nothing was too much trouble, and we both worked together to get exactly what I wanted. The total price was a pleasant surprise, comparable with other builders but with many additional specifications that would have been extra with other builders. I was… Read more
then quite shocked when I was advised that we had building approval and construction would start in 5 days. My site supervisor Peter has been in regular contact, and is very keen for me to involved in the construction of the home. He makes time to walk me through the house at every stage and has picked up a few minor issues that were corrected straight away. I am also very impressed with how tidy the site is kept - very different to my previous builds. Peter also provides regular updates on the progress and the next steps, including time frames, which have been spot on to date.
Overall, I am very happy with the build, the quality is excellent and the service I have received from all staff members is exceptional.
My Valeco Home – This was my first building experience and most people who I told that I was building thought that I was crazy. I had to build a custom design because of the shape of the block of land that I had purchased and so it was very difficult to visualise what the final home would look like. My sales consultant, Tracy from Yarrabilba was amazing! We… Read more
started with a blank piece of paper and came up with a plan. I could make as many changes as necessary to the plans until I was happy with the design. After many trips to Yarrabilba, and 6 months of waiting for the land development to be completed, we had the final design.
Tammy then took over to get everything through council. Nothing was too much trouble for Tammy and her assistance with all the rules and regulations is greatly appreciated.
Once the build started, the site supervisor, Justin, took over. Justin did a great job managing the build. He was always available to take my calls and kept me informed along the way.
All of the trades people who worked on my house were very polite and were always happy to chat to me about what was being done on my house.
I would happily recommend Valeco to any potential customers.
Our first building experience and we couldn't have asked for a smoother, easier build – The build process was long but mainly because it took so long for our land to be approved by council. We then approached Valeco and from there it was a much easier process. Kate Best helped us to design our house. We loved that Valeco are all about custom designs so it was exactly what we wanted for our family. She has some great ideas and was… Read more
very patient with us. Once we have finally decided on our plan the council process was quick and easy. The colour consultation which was great fun. Our consultant was so helpful and gave us great advice and ideas. We started building and our building manager Peter Titov has been fantastic. He has kept us up to date with the build. He has gone above and beyond with being accessible to us and allowing to see each stage. He has helped us with some minor alterations and has been quick to sort out any small issues as they have arisen. We would highly recommend this team.
