Wont help people on pension even if they can afford to make all the neccesary payments. I had a third of the bill upfront and enough spare funds to repay them within a year, but, because im disabled and therefore on a pension I suppose my animal isnt worth saving.
Worst company ever never use them they don’t accept you unless you have money most disgusting person on the phone and they are disrespectful I’m so disappointed just in the way they handle things over the phone will never recommend this to no one they can go bankrupt I hope the accc would have a field day with there intentions

Don't do it – Run run run. If you get a loan from this company you will be paying it back forever. Only 10 dollars coming off my bill. The other 27 dollars going to interest. Then there is also a 2.50 processing fee. So that means that only 7.50 is coming off the bill. Don't miss a payment because that's another $15. A whole year has gone by, and only $200… Read more
has come off my $1600 bill. Wow!!! They certainly take advantage of your despair. A whole year and still owe $1400. What a crock of [Content Removed]!
Honestly,,the best ever.. a blessing to us all, really – We have used vetpay several times..firstly when our dog got kidney stones & needed emergency intervention, then when we had to get expensive tests done to rule out cushions disease, then our bird needed emergency surgery,,I never had all the extra money instantly to pay out being on a pension..honestly vetpay is a Godsend to us..LOVE IT 5 ⭐️
This service is disgusting and all about profit! – I can't believe that any veterinarian would recommend these horrible people. My sons dog got run down by a vehicle and we applied for finance after paying $1700 to SASH and we got turned down flat. I make pretty OK money but it didn't even meet their MINIMUM requirement. DON'T use vet pay is all I can do to warn others. They don't care about you or your pet period!!
VetPay Saved My Bird’s Life – I opened a VetPay account in case I ever needed it for an emergency. Like many people who own a small business I have struggled this year due to Covid restrictions and the last thing I needed was a life and death emergency. My bird became extremely ill from severe egg binding, she was whimpering in pain, laying limp in my hands and we didn’t think… Read more
she was going to make it. Without VetPay she would have been euthanised but one week on she is home from hospital and flying around.
AMAZING HELP. ID BE LOST WITH OUT THEM – So many times these guys have helped. From a 3 am emergency C section, to a pup with IVDD. They're an amazing company and secretly they are sympathetic towards your pet. I would have lost 3 dogs that are my family and life if it wasnt for vetpay. Last week they saved my favourite dog and helped pay $5000 towards her spine surgery. Amazing Thank you Vetpay
In-depth reviews
In the simplest and most accurate manner, this review could almost be done with a few words, ‘Angels in Disguise’. But that wouldn’t do Vetpay justice. I started using Vetpay, after my 1st German Shepherd needed to see the vet, on a non pension week. Being a disabled veteran, my income is limited. Thankfully I stumbled across Vetpay and their… Read more
service. So what is Vetpay?
Vetpay is a service offering that ability to pay your vet bill in monthly payments, not all up front. Vetpay will, at their member Vet clinics, pay the bill, then you repay at an agreed amount.
In my case, they set that to $40/month as the minimum repayment. I generally try to repay $100/month to get it down, where I can.
Vetpay is a friendly, caring group of people who understand that while we love our pets dearly, sometimes, we can struggle with the cost, or more commonly the sudden vet bill for an emergency.
My latest German Shepherd, Freyja, at 8 months old, decided finding a rat poison bag was fun. No rat poison found. Absolute panic, a drive to a nearby vet, as my local vet had just closed.
Walked in, asked if it for Vetpay. Not an issue. That visit was almost $500! I am not upset at the Vet, that is what it costs, to ensure you puppy is OK. And an emergency, just outside normal hours. No issue.
Repay picked up the bill, I am currently paying it off. No issues anywhere.
Vetpay provides a real, non judgmental service, that helps anyone with their vet bills, at the most distressful moment of your life. The staff are beyond friendly and helpful. They will do all they can to help you, get help to look after your pet.
From older dogs, my late German Shepherd Bear, to my current German Shepherd, Freyja, this is a fully transportable, stress-free service that all pet owners should consider.
At a time when your first thoughts are your pet, but right behind it, how do I pay for this. No longer should any pet owner be concerned about the cost of a vet visit.
Vetpay is an exceptional service. One I am personally more than happy to promote.
We were glad to find this service – Like many Aussies, we were in pretty dire financial straits when our puppy required urgent medical care. Vetpay was a lifesaver and I am so glad we used it. The application process was incredibly quick and easy. I personally steer away from any 'buy now pay later' services as I have seen so many get overwhelmed with payments and wanting to buy… Read more
more even when it's not needed. We only took out a small Vetpay loan and were able to pay it back incredibly easily. I have used the service twice so far. The most recent, I had a family emergency and was unable to pay back my regular fortnightly payment once. I emailed their team and asked for the fee to waive which they did straight away. Very happy with the service.
Like with any service, use Vetpay after considering your options. Read the T&Cs to see if it will be suitable. In our case, it has worked really well for us which is great. I do feel for some of the reviews below where they had a negative experience. Particularly when a furry family member was lost :(
Vetpay in conjunctionwith vets, seems to be a money making goldmine at the expense of emotionally vulnerable people – I will be in debt to vetpay for decades it seems. Every month I pay $40/FN they take $2.50 each payment in processing fee ($60/yr) not to mention the annual fee of about $50 they tack on which you also end up paying high interest on if you don't pay it immediately. With the high interest rate and fees it seems like I'll never stop having this… Read more
debt. I know ultimately the decision was mine but at the time my fur baby was dying and I was not in the mindset to fully consider sufficiently the consequences of the Agreement. So my advice is to look into vetpay as an option before you are in a position where its being offered as a way to save your fur baby. Because like me you could find yourself in a situation where the vet offers vetpay as an option to pay for life saving treatment then eats through your vetpay limit, leaving just enough to cover the euthanasia before telling you there's nothing more they can do. And you end up leaving with only a high fee high interest loan that will last years with each payment a reminder of how taken advantage of you feel. Vetpay in conjunction with vets seems to be a perfect money making opportunity for the businesses at the expense of emotionally vulnerable people and their pets and more safe guards need to be put in place.
Positive reviews
I’m honestly not sure what the negative reviews are about. I’m happy to pay a bit extra knowing that when I really need a vet and don’t have the cash upfront, I can rely on VetPay. After my heart attack, I was struggling financially and they were great about putting a pause on my account. Once I got back on my feet, my payments stayed the same and… Read more
everything was straightforward. I haven’t had any issues with the staff either — they’ve always been helpful and easy to deal with.
I’ve relied on vet pay a couple of times now for vet care that would have otherwise been pretty unaffordable. Yes, I know the interest rates are high but the minimum fortnightly payments are quite low, and you can elect to pay it at a higher rate and reduce your interest. My cat had an unfortunate tangle with a snake right after Christmas and… Read more
when my savings were somewhat decimated. Antivenin and intensive care are expensive and having access to something like vetpay definitely reduced the stress.
I think a lot of pets would end up being economically euthanised without services like vetpay. So yes, while interest is high, when it comes down to it, services like this are a lifeline for pets and their owners.
Make extra payments on your account if you can. Increase your fortnightly payments if you can, it will reduce the interest you’re paying quite quickly.
Overall I recommend vetpay for pet owners who need vet services for their pets but may not have a spare 5k lying around.

On the one hand, it has helped me cover some urgent vet treatment - unfortunately my poor pets had an unusual number of vet expenses over the past year and my usual savings weren't enough. I found Vetpay straightforward to apply for and fast to approve. On the other hand, you do need to be aware of some things. There is no interest free period… Read more
any more, the annual fee is $69 (it's added to your balance when opening), and the annual interest rate is 18.5%. So it's really just like a credit card that you can only use for vet bills. If you have other options, ZipPay/Zip Plus digital card or maybe even a regular credit card might have a lower interest rate.
The minimum payments are set low. I don't mind this as it gives you some flexibility BUT if you repay ONLY the minimum, just like a credit card, you will have the loan for a LONG time. So do your own maths on what you need to do to pay off your balance, don't rely on minimum repayment to get you there.

I didnt use vetpay just signed up , then my credit score dropped 100 points.. im so amnoyed do not use or sign up vetpay, it will burn u and your loan credit rating. I payed cash, i didnt borrow a cent so how do u affectpeople credit ratings. It'll take a year to fix my rating now.
Vetpay is predatory lender taking advantage of desperate borrowers to save their loved one. I would do anything to save my pups life for VetPay it means 18.4% APR, $64 annual fee charged regardless and $2.5 processing fee per instalment. This level of greed should be outlawed. Protect your pets with emergency funds, good insurance and proactive… Read more
care. In case of emergency most vets would offer payment plans or AfterPay/ Zippay which are much more cost efficient and less predatory.
I applied got declined, called them as there website application page is misleading in comparison to other finance company’s, I asked for a review, they didn’t seem happy or had any idea what a review was, I’m still yet to receive a phone call in regards to the review, there interest rates and fees are high from what I have been informed from previous customers, so ended up taking a loan out from a professional finance company,

I've used vet pay for 8yrs, I think it's great, I don't care bout fees and interest I've been paying $70 a fortnight for the 8yrs and been able to use it on all 3 animals. People should be greatful they can pay it off instead of complaining
So far I have had no problems with VETPAY Australia. I’m on a pension and apply for $2000. Less than 10min later I was approved. Saved my 10 year old cat. Thank you Eureka Vets Ballarat
I used Vet Pay about 5 years ago and took out a loan of about 2k to get some emergency tests done for my dog. The approval process took 1 hour and the funds were ready to use immediately, even on a Sunday. I recently used Vet Pay again to take out another loan of $1.8k and again, the approval process was almost immediate. Thank you so much Vet… Read more
Pay! You have helped me and my dogs so much and I can’t recommend your business enough. An absolute god send and I hate to think what would have happened to my dogs if I couldn’t have had this finance. I honestly can’t thank you enough.
$70 yearly fee, interest rare of %18.4. and very intrusive questions to answer before your approved. It should be shutdown. I tried applying as my cat has hyperthyroidism and the radiation treatment is $1990. I was shocked at the fees and charges, plus how much they want to know before you get approved. I've used vet pay for years always appreciated the availability of service. Today I wanted answers to payments made. Reception to to my enquiries extremely poor. I've always paid fully -well before due time. I rang several times today wanting to speak to a supervisor or manager when eventually a staff member did return my call, I asked if she… Read more

Would not recommend, vetpay use to be great but now there fees and interest are out of control. What use to take approximately 8 months to pay around a $500 bill has now taken over 12 months and I still have half to pay, thats how many fees and interest have been added, I would definitely never recommend vetpay anymore they pray on the vulnerable, a credit card would almost be cheaper at the rate they are adding fees
DO NOT USE THIS BUISNESS!!! I am a Google guide. Vetpay is a ripp off company and charge you each time you pay also a monthly charge and yearly charge. They prey on people who live their animals and it's takes for ever to pay them off because you think all your payment comes off the bill but it doesn't. It's like a very expensive credit card.
They are literally fake help, pretend they will help when you're struggling but if you have any previous debt they won't help. Good way to pretend you care about animals the bunch of clowns
I agree with other reviews.Have been knocked back by VetPay several times for approval regardless of changing to minimum amount or no matter what my income was, and do not have a mortgage.Unfortunately after constant vet bills one after the other I thought it would be a great help after going through all my savings. My local vet has been great and… Read more
supportive trying to get best prices on treatment etc.I am glad it has helped others but am wondering why they are so hit and miss with approval rate??Call centre also seemed unhelpful.
Needed upfront payments with the vet before they would to help my horse. After buying 4 new tyres plus rego, my funds were low. Applied to Vet Pay. They knocked me back. Ended up having to shoot my horse so she wasn't suffering. Sad when money comes top priority before the welfare of an animal. I could have paid it all off in 3wks. Absolutely gutted! Just lost my best friend and only friend in this [Content Removed] town
I been reading the reviews WOW. Your investments in pet care must be happy 89% of review are bad. You all must be so proud That you have a company that is despised by your. Company 5 stars for disgusting. Behaviour to your customers and vets should think twice before being involved with vetpay.
great people – I've used them many times over a 6 year period, they are good people as I've talked to them many times phone, email, & text I'm on a pension so have an emergency it great to know I can take them to the vet without the worry how I'm going to pay them, I've had a couple of emergency I've only just used them to have my 2 cats desexed, I pay them $40… Read more

Don’t waste your money – Work full time, great credit rating, own my own house, yet knocked back 3 times for vet pay. No other reason then being I don’t meet the minimum requirements Ridiculous for such a rip of scheme that charges double the interest on repayments. Guess it’s a blessing.
