medical emergency, I had to cancel the booking on 6 June. I immediately called the Europcar number listed on the voucher as there was no other number listed to contact VIP cars, spoke with a staff member who confirmed the cancellation, and was assured I’d receive a refund within 24 hours.

Despite this, VIP Cars flatly refused to refund or even partially refund my payment. Their rigid cancellation policy doesn’t account for emergencies or circumstances outside a customer’s control. Worse still, multiple attempts to resolve the issue via email went ignored or were met with unhelpful responses. Europcar, although more responsive, ultimately pointed me back to VIP Cars—leaving me stuck in a loop with no accountability.

Under Australian Consumer Law, this treatment feels deeply unfair and out of step with expectations of basic consumer rights. I would strongly caution others against booking with VIP Cars and suggest reviewing rental providers that prioritize empathy and transparency.

Clear pricing, value for money, additional insurance optional and car was received and returned in good condition. Was happy with the service I received. on time and quick. There was no damage done to the vehicle during the rent so it was received back in 15 minutes. Show details ·  1

additional €597 because I did not have a credit card in my own name for the security deposit.

I had a debit card with sufficient funds and my wife had a credit card, but neither was accepted. Instead of offering a reasonable solution, I was left with no practical choice but to purchase the rental company's expensive insurance. What started as a competitively priced rental ended up costing significantly more than expected.

The most frustrating part was VIP Cars' response after the event. Rather than acknowledging how misleading this situation is for customers, they simply referred me to the supplier's terms and conditions and refused to take any responsibility. While they claim the requirements were disclosed, the critical information was not presented prominently enough considering it could increase the cost of the rental by hundreds of euros.

As a broker, VIP Cars should ensure customers clearly understand the real cost and key rental requirements before booking. Instead, I felt like I was lured in by a low advertised price only to face substantial unexpected costs at the rental desk.

I cannot recommend VIP Cars. My experience was stressful, expensive, and their customer service showed little interest in resolving the issue or taking ownership. I will not be booking through them again.

Very bad experience, they send me the rental on my way to destination. That contain the term that I can’t accept . I can’t check it until I reach to Thailand. Booked and paid for a car that was being advertised on their site and unfortunately they were not able to provide what they were advertising so not sure how that works - false advertising?

The experience of using their website was more than satisfactory. I did have a small hiccup with payment side but the agent Bella C was just fantastic, very helpful and she was able to answer all my queries and resolve any issues I was having. Used VIP Cars twice on our recent Family holiday in Malaysia. The vehicles were older Protons but EXCELLENT value for money and very fuel efficient. Picking up the cars both times (Once from the KL city branch & once from KL Airport) was a little conveluted and uncler taking longer than I would have liked but you can't complian for the price. Show details ·  1

Easy to use website, gave me a good range of cars from various companies to choose from at better rates than from the companies direct. Customer service at Enterprise was great and they collected, and dropped me off at the train station. air con and other bits was though touching the screen which I found a. bIt dangerous as you had to take your eyes off the road to look at it. It also had no reversing camera which is old for a brand new car. Shame you can’t when hiring cars state cars you don’t want. I booked a small suv. No issues with payment, bond was refunded the same day I dropped off car.

Brand new car excellent car performance. Friendly pick up although could have spend more time explaining devices in car such as how to open the boot, where the hand brake is, how to turn lights on and off how to open petrol cap etc did get radio translated into English after asking Bond and payment well explained and drop off was very easy Show 2 replies

I've used this service for many times now as I travel back and fourth from the UK to Geneva regularly. They've always been friendly and helpful. They're generally way cheaper than the rental places within the airport even though they're actually only a few minutes further away from where you have to collect your hire cars from the airport anyway.… Read more ·  1

I've only ever had a positive experience and dealing with a smaller company seems to mean more lenience when it comes to extending drop off times etc.
