The vehicle was ready when we arrived and the bodywork was checked before we took hire of it. The staff were friendly and efficient. definitely recommend an automatic car in Kefalonia due to the many very steep hills. The manual Panda we had was very challenging to drive. Drop off was easy and the airport in Kefalonia is a short downhill walk from the office.

medical emergency, I had to cancel the booking on 6 June. I immediately called the Europcar number listed on the voucher as there was no other number listed to contact VIP cars, spoke with a staff member who confirmed the cancellation, and was assured I’d receive a refund within 24 hours.
Despite this, VIP Cars flatly refused to refund or even partially refund my payment. Their rigid cancellation policy doesn’t account for emergencies or circumstances outside a customer’s control. Worse still, multiple attempts to resolve the issue via email went ignored or were met with unhelpful responses. Europcar, although more responsive, ultimately pointed me back to VIP Cars—leaving me stuck in a loop with no accountability.
Under Australian Consumer Law, this treatment feels deeply unfair and out of step with expectations of basic consumer rights. I would strongly caution others against booking with VIP Cars and suggest reviewing rental providers that prioritize empathy and transparency.

clean, Toyota Aqua hybrid, full of fuel. Once my phone was paired with the Apple Play / Android Auto system I was ready to go. Drove 300 KMs over the 5 days using 11 Litres of fuel. The car behaved perfectly. Upon return to the office the vehicle was checked and I was driven to the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. A considerable financial saving when compared to renting from the better known companies. Highly recommended.
Follow-up · Returning the vehicle was easy. There were no hidden fees. The hold on my credit card was released quickly. I'd very happily rent from them in Christchurch should I return someday.

Booked online. Due to pick up vehicle in Kewdale office (just outside airport). Had a question regarding shuttle process from Perth domestic terminal to office. Once we arrive, we were advised to call everything fleet number for a shuttle vehicle to pick us up. On the surface it appears a lot cheaper than booking vehicle for an at terminal pick up. Scam company, please dint use them as they are not uk based, have taken our money and won't refund it. Took money fir a hire car which I was to pick up at 5pm, got there and it was closed. purchase the rental, but did not have a plane ticket in hand. As someone who does not travel a lot I was not aware of this requirement and could not get the vehicle. More than that, VIPCars would not refund my money. They basically took over $800 from me. None of the documents or emails that they sent ever disclosed the requirement to have a plane ticket in hand when renting using a debit card. Please do not rent from this company
Follow-up · Here are the follow-up answers, I paid originally with a Debit Card. The person I spoke to received the payment and did not mention anything about having to have a credit card to pick up the rental vehicle. This was not disclosed to me. I haven't been to the airport to rent a car in many years, so I wasn't familiar with this. There was nothing indicating that I needed to pick up the rental with a credit card in all the documentation I received.
