Has anyone with a breville barista express machine found a grinder setting for these beans I’ve tried every setting, tamper hard tamper softer etc but cannot get an espresso extraction

I have had the same problem. I don’t understand the science but for some reason Vittoria beans of all types don’t seem to be compatible with this machine. All other beans seem to work, so just switch to another brand.

Hi thanks I only bought this as it was on special this week at Woolies I thought it was me as I only bought my machine on the weekend but so far half the bag has been tipped down the sink. Any recommendations for a great brand?

Same here, same beans, same machine. Tossed the Vittoria in the bin. Plenty of great beans out there from boutique roasters, but for the convenience of buying at the supermarket I use the Grinders brand.

Hi we have had an experimentation process as you and all should do. Firstly adjusting the grind a notch at a time, secondly and very common to be consistent a measured tamper is best so you have the same pressure each time these are around the $90 mark but worth it. A bottom less portafilter is way better for the extraction. Try some online instruction on how the professionals make their coffees. I rate the Vittoria beans as decent not great but you need to learn from trial and error. good luck.
