5 Timbo  · Simple and rarely disappoints – Very reliable connection rarely a drop out suits my needs perfectly. Easy to talk to and never a problem with billing.
1 Grace  · Crap!!! – For the past 3 months I've been paying for internet that doesn't work!!! Constantly buffering, I'm definitely having my service disconnected!!!
1 Mr9rada  · Worst speed ever – Wireless vivid 4g Worst internet speed. Even slower than Adsl. And connection is not reliable at all. Thats it ..
2 Nick  · Used to be good – It was decent until they did "upgrades" speed went down a lot now good for nothing in Perth/Morley. Struggles to load 480p.
1 John  · Sucks! – Optus is throttling the vivid! Getting 3.1mb download and barely 1mb upload! My mobile on optus network is getting 32.9mb and 12.5mb repectively!!
5 Dharmesh P  · So far so good – Just brought this one 2 days ago!! The speed so far is great.. let see how it continues after some days.

Its a niche product- will work great for some, not well for others – I have had vivid for over a year now and can I say I am relatively happy with my results. I had to get vivid as NBN was rolling out and we live semi-rural so wasn't going to cop a nasty adsl connection as we have a data heavy family. This family mainly streaming and does web surfing and a couple downloads here and there so its perfect for this… Read more

scenario, reaching 10mbs on a good/clear day, and 4mbs on a bad/cloudy one. Belows are pros and cons that I found through my usage.

Pros: - Works for a streaming family, around 3/4 mark (avg 720p outcomes) - Unlimited data, so no caps - Handles emails/work related activities breezily - Can download at reasonable speeds

Cons: - Not too flash for gaming (fps/mobas etc), have periods of spikes during gameplay that can last a few seconds up to minutes. - Router is dependant on direction of nearest tower and how it can recieve signal, best to put near a window facing the tower - Is affected by weather and network usage, can be absolute garbage on a rainy night, and superb on a sunny one -Pretty pricey still, so best to justify its cost with how much its used

They have now migrated to optus network, im not sure if it this has affected service but im noticing more drops in speed and spikes in ping. So would need to do some researching into this, If they have changed bands from 2300mhz that they were on for vivid over to 2600mhz it may be a considerably worse service.

Internet is still pretty fast, reliable- Happy Customer – I joined vividwireless about 6 months ago, because there were no NBN in our area. The setup process was quite simple for us. I bought a modem from The Optus store outright. The process to set it up took less than 10 minutes and were simple and straightforward. The internet is still pretty fast, reliable and offers good customer service too. There… Read more

Perfect for renters! – This saved my life at my last rental. I moved in without checking if my granny flat had a telephone port and my work requires me to work from home. After moving in, I realised i didn’t have one and my landlord would not allow me to install one. Vivid provides the best price for the data package I’m on (200GB per month for $70). I have been able to… Read more

work from home using VPN and I can go on a Netflix binge easily. I’ve had a few drop outs but nothing serious. I would say the same amount of drop outs if you had fixed internet. My connection is as reliable as ADSL+ used to be, I believe mobile broadband provides the same reliability and Vivid gives you the freedom to be on a month to month plan which is ideal for renters. I have moved twice this year and I was able to set up my internet connection in less than 5 minutes, all you need is a power point and you’re good to go.

Was perfect until optus bought it – Optus deliberately driving into the ground because they don't offer the same value contracts that they bought. 3 years happy with vividwireless, 3 months under optus; I'm off to Telstra. Show details

Abysmal since Optus have announced they are taking over from Vivid Wireless – Connectivity is their but the Optus network won’t even let a simple ping through. I have tried many different locations in the house and we have a few Virgn mobiles in the house so the network is working but Optus are seemingly strangling Vivid deliberately to force clients across. Show details

Abysmal customer service, worse connectivity – Service drops out daily, goes down to 3mbps frequently. They are impossible to contact, Ive been trying to contact Vividwiress to cancel all day, no one answers the phone or replies to emails. No wonder theyre going out of business! Show details

Painfully slow internet! – The connection was ridiculously slow, and we ended up hotspotting our mobile phones. Avoid at all costs, more worthwhile getting a larger data plan on your mobile phone! Constant dropouts, unable to stream anything in off-peak periods let alone on-peak, and was so slow that speedtest.net couldn't even load up! Show details

Don’t even bother! – Horribly slow speeds, unable to watch ANY Netflix show or video on Facebook without it stopping/buffering. Using mobile data is so much more reliable. Absolute waste of money, don’t even bother! Show details

Terrible Customer Service – By looking at most reviews from customers I can totally agree with them. I have been a valued customer with vivid wireless for 2 years. Since Christmas 2018 the service has been extremely slow. I called them then to say the service is very slow and dropping out, received a credit. I called today and advised them I’m moving onto NBN service. I had… Read more

a very rude CSO Officer saying you need to pay your last bill. I advised him the service has been dropping out since Christmas a lot and would like a credit. He advised me that I should have called up and cannot provide me with a credit. He was completely rude and no empathy considering how long I’ve been a customer. Disgusting, will not recommend them to anyone I know, good luck Vivid you need to evaluate some of your staff......

Significant decline in speed over the last 2 years – I was happy with Vivid when we first signed up a couple of years back because we had poor Telstra ADSL speeds ( due to distance from exchange). But speeds have declined significantly in recent months while drop outs have increased dramatically. Service is now hardly worth having. NBN has just reached us and we’ll be back with Telstra within a week or two.  Show details

Pathetic performance. Not worth it – The name does not reflect its performance. For those who are looking for home wireless broadband connection, be aware. I purchased the unlimited modem in October 2018 due to Telstra ADSL2+ outage in our area. The ADSL2+ and wireless broadband are the only options available in our area. NBN, no idea when it will be ready. For the first 3 or 4… Read more

weeks, performance was still acceptable that we could watch Netflix, surfing Internet and connect to work. Performance started to degrade afterward and became unbearable around Christmas time.

Called the Vividwireless tech support a couple of times. Response was very good and professional but no solution. Internet was slow or failed to connect or returned with DNS errors, even with only ONE device connected.

I was advised that the NBN will be available in February and although it’s only FTTN, should be better than this yo yo like broadband. But have to fork out another few hundred dollars for new connection.

Bad first Wi-Fi through vividwireless – My experience is slow connection speeds using my laptop. It's high priced for disappointing wifi connectivity. They are quick to contact you if you have to pay a bill but slow at responding to queries about what you pay for. I'm glad Optus is taking over again. Bad first experience in paying for my own wifi! False advertising too. I paid $250 for a modem that was meant to be a Samsung. I received a Huewai. Not very happy.  Show details

Extremely poor – Been a customer with vividwireless for around 2 years now. The internet speed has slowed markedly since signing on. Has been poor at best. Drops out all the time, sits on average around 1.0mbps. Also after 2 years with them I missed 1 payment and they suspended my account within 24 hours without warning. I asked to have my account re activated… Read more

with a payment scheduled for the following day and they refused.

There is a reason Vividwireless is being 'phased out' – Like most others here, had a terrible experience with Optus here. There is a reason vividwireless is being phased out (shut down) by Optus. Our speeds were terrible, couldn't even use a word doc. When I called they tried to tell me it might be because someone in my street is using a baby monitor???????? If that was the case, no-one anywhere… Read more

would be able to use vividwireless. Anyhow, luckily I have cancelled within 14 days, so have a full refund and as they are shutting down now, it hardly matters. I am mainly posting so that others are aware of how terrible the service is. Not one thing that was offered as part of the service was actually delivered.

Not 4G speeds, slow and drops out a lot – Switched because it was advertised as 4G and my adsl2 is terribly slow (3mbps) and still don’t have nbn here (even though 2 km from Melbourne cbd). This is painfully slow, slower than the adsl. Cancelling asap  Show details

Horrible service and full of excuses – I was recommended vivid wireless as an alternative solution for internet in my area. As the best internet in my area is ADSL 1. When our family first used vivid wireless, the service was good twice as fast as our ADSL 1, getting download speeds of 2mb/s. However, this soon changed. We are lucky to even get 1mb/s now. What is worst, is that when I… Read more

call customer service they don't seem to care always using the excuse, the wireless station is experiencing difficulties. I honestly feel it is impossible to have a modern day internet using household with the internet my family was provided. My daughter couldn't stream her university lecture if someone else was watching youtube, my son couldn't play games. No one could use the internet if someone else was using it. Would not recommend to my worst enemy...

Great if you can't get ADSL / NBN – I had to get Vivid wireless at two addresses I occupied and found the service to be outstanding. At one of the addresses I could get ADSL2 but speed was poor at around 4mbit initially but it slowed to under 1mbit and had to move to wireless. I then moved to another address that had no phone line at all so couldn't get ADSL2 and again it worked… Read more

perfectly, no break in internet access really helped with the move. However if you can get good ADSL2 or NBN then it's kind of pointless, as it costs more.

Absolute rubbish – No other words for this 'service' but horrendous. Unfortunately we are stuck in an area without ADSL or NBN and have had to endure Vividwireless for a year. Fortunately we move next month and I… Read more

will never touch this steaming pile of rubbish ever again. Stay away at all costs, you would be better having internet powered by a hamster on a water wheel than the offering you get from Vividwireless.

Keep Away – I’m stuck in limbo where I have moved into a brand new townhouse and nbn will arrive in the street in 3-4 months so getting ADSL connected is redundant I’m an existing Optus phone customer so I blindly went with vivid. The service is useless even with 3 bars on the modem in non peak time I waited 25mins to sync a small word doc to OneDrive… Read more

before giving up and hotspotting it to my phone to sync it. Trying to use vivid between 3pm and 7:30pm? You won’t get any response. I live inner suburban Melbourne 8km from the CBD with 4 Optus towers within 3km radius.

I’m lodging a complaint and request for a refund for the services. If the request is denied I will be taking it to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman and I encourage anyone else having issues to do the same.

Potentially Vividwireless as the CSP and Optus as the network owners are both in breach of their obligations under the Telecommunications Act 1997 & the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999 and they should not be allowed to get away with the service they’re providing under the Vividwireless banner

Not impressed – I've been using Vividwireless for around a year and I keep believing it will get better. But it doesn't. I frequently get 'no connection' messages, Youtube videos consistently and continually stop and in general it is simply unreliable. You pay a reasonable amount of money for a so-called service - but you don't get that service. I wouldn't care… Read more

that much if it was an occasional outage or poor connection, but it happens far more regularly (every second day) than it should. I'm looking at other ISP's available for where I live, and if you want my opinion, you should do the same.
