Worst ever – Back vent constantly blows off and squeals Very short nozzle/ handle Electrical cord is too short Terrible manoeuvrability, always tipping over Turbo head is always clogging Suction is good on carpet or tiles except for the sqeal Show details
After 4 years it still works wonders!!! – Have had no problems with this vacuum, does the job in my place, if I was to purchase another vacuum I'd def look into getting another one of these. I live in a place with a few pets and children, cleans up to my standard all the time. Even my sister got one. Show details
2 years on and still vacuums great! – We had a problem with our old vac which was a famous brand and expensive. It just didn't do the job, so we bought this model. I didn't expect much for the price, but even with two cats and their hair stuck everywhere this one made it easy to keep our carpets and rugs spotless. Great suction power for the price. Definitely recommend! Show details
Compressor died within 18 months – We had a Volta for 20 years and were very happy with it. The compressor bearings eventually gave up. We bought a U6011. It died within 18 months. There was a burnt electrical smell & lots of noise from the compressor. We very quickly took it outside for fear it would catch on fire. Then we had to clear our Unit from the electrical smell over the… Read more
next couple of days. I never liked the U6011. It had a smaller dust bag even though the body was larger than the old one. The hose was too short & the vacuum would always be under your feet. It did not suck anywhere near as well as the old one. It just did not have any guts. Even when our 20 year old vacuum was on its last legs it sucked far better than the new one & consumed far less electricity in the process. We decided to replace it with a commercial vacuum. The commercial vacuum actually sucks better on its standard setting at 350 watts! There is basically no need to use the high setting at 800 watts. Also I have a long hose & 10 litre bag. The new one at $575 cost less than higher spec domestic vacuums! I will never buy a domestic vacuum again. They are simply annual landfill products.
You pay for what you get (obviously) – The turbo head squeels constantly and if it sucks up anything bigger than a speck of dirt the head stops working so you are forever cleaning the turbo head. Also the barrel doesnt turn easily when exiting a room, it always tips upside down instead of turning. Very poorly maneuvered. Now the extension pole keeps locking up and wont unlock to lengthen easy. Disappointed to say the least. Show details
Terrible vaccuum cleaner – Not a bad vacuum cleaner for suction, good variety of tools within the body. But what waste of money; didn't even last 9mths. A couple of time the motor made a popping noise, changed the bag thinking it was full. But when my child was using it the smell of smoke came from the machine and it switched off...the motor had burnt out! Very dangerous as it actually tripped our electricity safety switch. DO NOT BUY!! Show details

Blew up after 12 months ! – We live in a small apartment and we don't even have pets, however this machine started playing up after 9 months we took it in got the filter replaced and the linen bags as the paper bags were terrible... then a terrible burning smell started last week and the motor has gone. I'm looking for another brand, but will stay well clear from volta... I… Read more
don't think I should be replacing a vacuum cleaner after 12 months. .. disappointed and ripped off .

Ideal for pets absolute rubbish – Absolute rubbish, purchased this machine as we have small dogs in the house, because of this we have mostly polished boards, with carpet only in bedrooms. Machine just over 12 months old, started sparking & then stopped completely. Bag is emptied regularly & filters cleaned also on a regular basis. Not sure what machine I will try next as it seems Electrolux has control of the market, but I can definitely say that it won't be a Volta. Show details

This vacuum cleaner is a joy to use – I am more than happy with this vacuum cleaner after my previous bad experience with nilfisk one. The suction is great and I think great value for money. It's fairly quiet and easy to maneuvre. I recommend this vacuum to clean both carpet and tiled areas and not madly expensive like some Other brands
great value cleaner – I bought my volta u6011 about 2 years ago for a quarter of the cost of my previous 2 electrolux cleaners, which both failed just outside the warranty period. The volta is noisier than the Electrolux but has better suction and the turbo head works just as well as the electrolux power head and once again costs about a quarter as much
Great value for money – Bought this to replace a very long serving Nilfisk that had broken wheels and lost its suck. Bought the last one - display product complete with shop scratches and no box or instructions. It sucked very well ( even though I'd left it on minimum power ). Great value for money and if I have to replace it three times at this price then I will be ahead of buying a Miele at three times the price.
Very disappointed borderline dismayed – I bought this vacuum based on reputation and previous experience after years of using Volta vacs in both domestic and commercial settings. Initially there were issues with the HEPA filter cover regularly coming off. The vendor supplied a replacement, however the problem persisted, resolved by generous application and re-application of Gaffer… Read more
Tape.
The bags were always a problem, never fitting properly.
A month ago I left the machine running while I took a brief telephone call.
It stopped working and that was it. Dead.

Problems – It is the same with my vacuum. The filter cover keeps blowing off and seems all the dust comes out and also the suction head has come off. It really annoys me that you spend money for something that doesn't do its job. Purchased at good guys but can't find receipt.

This vacuum sux – I bought a ultima pet plus to replace a Miele that carked it after 8 years. The first one was used once and had to be taken back as the cord would not retract at all. The replacement literally only worked for about 10 mins then cut out and would not turn on. Going to take it back and demand s refund and never go near a Volta again!

Almost a great machine – I bought this machine on the advice of the sales lady. I have a normal sized home with mostly tiled floor except the bedrooms and lounge which are short pile carpet. The vacuum cleaner is close to be very good, except for the top cover blowing off repeatedly and the turbo head squealing from the date of purchase. Suction is excellent and once I… Read more
dismantled the head and dry graphite treated the roller pins, it works as anticipated. Prior to that the squeal was unbearable and the brushes stopped as soon as they contacted the carpet. I haven't been able to come up with a solution for the cover blowing off yet though. It gets worse as the machine warms up so I get maybe five minutes use before it blows off the first time and then only a couple of minutes after that before it's off again. Once it's come off a few times it's a waste of time continuing as it blows off as soon as the motor starts. The problem seems to be that the plastic softens as it gets warm. A bad design fault defeats what could have been a very good machine. Would I buy it again? No.
Bad Vacuum – Bought this at Good Guys Blacktown :& very disappointed in its performance. For years had an upright Shark which gave no problems & performed beautifully. I've used this Volta 5 times & it is incredibly annoying. During use today it commenced to spit dust out, causing me to have to use dust pan and broom to clean up. I know I'll get… Read more
nowhere by taking it back to where I bought it - the retail outlets these days take no responsibility whatsoever for the reliability of the products they sell. So I'll throw it in the bin where it belongs - a bit expensive though - $ 169 to vacuum 5 times. Electrolux???? never again.
Bag ruined my vacuum cleaner – I bought a Ultima Pet Plus 6011 I used it for the first time the dust in the bag went all over the inside of the barrel and ruined it. The Go od Guys say I put it the bag in wro ng and will not replace it with a new one even though it has a 2yr wrnty. I had a sanyo no problems for over 25 yrs.
Vacuum OK turbo head sucks – We bought this vacuum because it got good reviews for Pet hair removal. Unfortunately for us, the "turbo" head isn't very "turbo" anymore after only 3 months. Despite keeping the head clean and even taking it apart for a thorough cleaning, it simply has no spinning power anymore and doesn't pick up any hair at all on carpet. Since that is the reason we bought it, I'm giving it a 2 out of 5.
This vacuum cleaner needs improvement!! – I am happy with the machine except for one thing, same as an earlier reviewer, the filter cover at the back always pops off during use. It can't be put back on while the machine is running so that means constantly turning it off to do so. It's still under warranty so looks like it will be going straight back to Bing Lee. Also, when I called the Volta support line in Vic. they showed very little concern.

Cleaner okay, bags SHOCKING – Overall, quite happy with the cleaner itself, although the paper bags that come with it are TERRIBLE!!! I have vacuumed up small bits of gravel on the odd occasion (like I sometimes did with my old cleaner, and it handled it perfectly) but I have had EVERY one of my Volta paper bags split. I find it quite unpractical - my cleaner suction goes to… Read more
about 10%, the cleaner covers in dust - then I notice, forgoodness sake - broken bag! In the mean time, my motor has been ruined!
Don't like to be negative - nice little cleaner, does the job well - just think carefully before you use the shabby paper bags! Might need to consider an alternative! Any ideas for me?
NB: Kitty - I know what you mean! Ours is always tipping over too, and the cord seems a bit short.
Frequently tips over, the filter pops off the back, slim nozzle attachment is very short – Good suction but a few serious irritations - the machine frequently tips over and does not corner very well/at all; the filter at the back frequently pops off during use; and the slim nozzle attachment is very short which makes its purpose (cleaning those hard to reach places and the car) extremely difficult. I am thinking of taking mine back!

Design fault in the Ultima . Bad look for Electrolux – Have now had for a few years but recently noticed the suck had dropped right off and the inside bag area filter seriously blocking, having cleaned that several times and blowing out all parts with compressed air with no result, discovered the rotating base of cleaner where the front roller wheel is attached was fractured around 50%… Read more
circumferentially opening a 4mm gap into the base so all the air was being drawn straight in without passing through the bag liable to cause serious damage to the motor and loss of suction.
Have pressed it back into shape and solvent welded it up as it made from ABS but it shows a really weak design flaw.
Every time the cleaner is used it is lowered (dropped) from the upright position to the floor and the weight all comes down on this weak area.
Plastics deign should always incorporate fully radiused changes of surface direction and thick walls none of these have been applied in this area. reasonable value in comparison at time of purchase. Design flaw as above suggests a shortened life and loss of suction so product getting binned well before it should be.

Wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding – I purchased this vaccum cleaner to replace an old faithful 1400 watt Volta that was 20 years old. A part needed replacing on the old one which I am now going to do as the Ultima is the biggest piece of rubbish that has no suction capabilities whatsoever. It is [censored word removed]! Colour Doesn't have a strong sunction... doesn't have any suction actually!

Powerful Suction & good value! – I bought this vacuum nearly 5 yrs ago & it is still going strong. The suction on this thing is awesome & adjustable! Ive never had a vacuum that sucks aswell as this one, even when its 5 yrs old. Tho now that it is getting older I do have a few issues but nothing effecting its suction. When in use it is blowing smelly air even when Ive changed the… Read more
bag & filter. The vacuum head broke, but was easily replaced. Has the best suction always! Vacuum head broke & Fairly noisy when in use.
Awful Vacuum Cleaner – I bought a Volta upright to handle my dog's shedding hair. Great on rugs but couldn't handle hardwood floors. The Volta/Electrolux people decided that I needed a different vacuum so they gave me this in as a replacement. It is a huge disappointment. I've had it for almost a year and have wanted to take it back since I got it. I have to go… Read more
over my dog hair numerous times because the turbo head barely does a job. I do my best to clean the filters, I empty the bag earlier than I should ~ and this thing is a piece of garbage.
Because of the difficulty that I had to get this replacement, I don't think I have the will to deal with the home office again. I can't take it back to the store because it didn't come from a store and I don't have the receipt.
Word to the wise ~ don't buy it. A cheap little model that only lasts a year would be preferable. This one stinks. the pretty colour
Volta Ultima 2000 - over 6 years old still going strong – Great suction. I'm having problems with the filter area now (perhaps I just need a new filter - I'll get it checked out and I have had it for over 6 years). Still suctioning well after 6 years. Would have been great to have a little bit more length in the chord but I am happy enough with this purchase. Disposable paper bags
Volta Ultima 2000 – Bought it about 7 years ago, excellent suction through all those years. Love it, best one I have ever had. I am now looking for another one that is just as good as that one. Have had the button to push down brushes break early on, but was worth replacing for the price. Reliable, inexpensive Couple of little things broke on it, nothing major. Show reply
Great Value for Money - Excellent on hard floors - Model U5011F – This is a great little unit that is easy to handle and tracks well behind you on hard floors and it doesn't scratch. The suction is huge so I run it only on half power. It is very quiet. The handle is a little short for my 6'2" husband (though he thinks this is a bonus as he gets out of the cleaning) You can't go wrong with this little beautie. I… Read more
purchased model U5011F from Billy Guyatts for only $109. I can't this unit comes with 3 different heads, turbo nozzle (which is awesome on my rugs), multi purpose head and the hard floor head (my favorite). The cord is a little short for our home but is fine when an extension cord is added. The capacity of the bag is fine and I haven't had to change it yet. Value for money, Quiet, Hard Floor head, Reliable, Suction Handle not ideal for tall people,
Good – Great value for money. Well made and no problems with this cleaner at all. Will buy another Volta in future if this one packs it in. Good value for the $200 paid a couple of years ago. Sucks very well & is reasonably quiet. Turbo head is fun to use! Cloth bag is easy to empty and saves $ on buying paper bags. Turbo head can get jammed with hair and other objects but these can be easily cleared.
Still going strong – I bought this vacuum cleaner 4 years ago and is still going strong. It still has excellent suction! I have had a number of different cleaners over the years that have all let me down but not this beauty. It has been really robust as i am not exactly gentle with it. Reliable, continued great suction. The the button that pushes the brush bit down on the head to do hard floors broke early on, has not bothered me though.
